Anthony Mackie Reveals Kendrick Lamar Recorded Title Track for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ | Billboard News

Actor Anthony Mackie has been doing the rounds to build hype for his upcoming movie, Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World. During an interview with our friends over at ET, Mackie let slip that Kendrick Lamar recorded the title track for the film.

Anthony Mackie:
Kendrick did the title song for my movie. I hope that’s not supposed to be a surprise.

Tetris Kelly:
This isn’t the first time Kendrick has lent his talents to a Marvel movie soundtrack. Back in 2018, Kendrick teamed up with SZA for the hit song “All the Stars,” which was the lead single for Marvel’s Black Panther. “All the Stars” was a big single for Marvel. It reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, received numerous accolades including a nomination for best original song at the 76th Golden Globe Awards and the 91st Academy Awards, as well as receiving four nominations at the 61st Grammy Awards, including record of the year and song of the year. Not to mention that K.Dot and SZA just performed the hit track “All the Stars” this weekend during the Super Bowl Halftime Show. We can’t say the name of the track or its release date just yet, but I might have seen a screening of it and the track is epic.

Captain America: Brave New World releases in theaters this Friday, Feb 14.

Laverne Cox Talks Hosting Billboard Women in Music 2025, ‘Clean Slate’ Creation & More | Billboard News

Laverne Cox has been officially announced as the host for Billboard Women in Music 2025, and we sat down with the star to get her feelings on hosting an empowering night for women, creating her new show ‘Clean Slate’ and more!

I mean, you’re no stranger to hosting red carpets. You are front and center of glitz and glam. How does it feel now to be able to host an event that’s primarily focused on women?

Laverne Cox:

I love being a woman. I think women are the most powerful, amazing humans on the planet. The ways in which women have evolved are leading in all areas, and particularly in music. I’m insanely excited. I mean, the women who are performing, the women we’re honoring. I’m a fan, I’m a fangirl, and I just can’t wait to celebrate and have a party with everybody. 

I agree. And I mean, you, of course, are such a pillar of representation, and you so fiercely advocate for humans to be all on the same level. And I’ve been noticing myself a big shift, especially in music, that women get to express themselves however they truly are. We see it with all the pop girls lately. Why do you think now is the time where we see women kind of expressing themselves and their full potential and their full capacity?

I’m older, so I think about artists like a Tina Turner or Madonna. I think a lot about Madonna, when I think about this moment and how much control she took over her career, of every aspect of it, and how she was represented. And more and more, women are having that control artistically.

From partying with us at the Super Bowl to the cover of our magazine, we just found out who Travis Scott wants to collab with. Is Travis tasting the “espresso?” He told Carl Lamarre of Billboard:

“This might be crazy, but I would love to get Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter on a hook.”

And when asked why he said, “I have some ill ideas.”

And that’s not it. He’s looking at a Best New Artist nominee from the Grammys too, saying: “It’s this band called Khruangbin I want to work with.”

Drake Changes Lyric In ‘Knife Talk’ After Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show | Billboard News

Drake changed the lyrics on “Knife Talk” after Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show this past Sunday, teases music from his joint album with PartyNextDoor, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, and new solo music in the works.

It seems like Drake may be down, but he’s not out. At a recent tour stop in Melbourne, Australia, Drake changed the lyrics on his hit song “Knife Talk” from “Beef is live, spoiler alert, this n—a dies” to “Beef is live, spoiler alert — I never died.”

Not only is Drake declaring he’s not dead yet, he’s also letting us know his beef with Kendrick isn’t over. We’ll have to wait and see what response the Canadian superstar has planned, but until then, Drake has teased his next project.

Drake is getting ready to drop a joint project with PartyNextDoor. While performing in Australia, Drizzy teased the crowd on what to expect from the project, which drops this Friday the 14th, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Drizzy then took to Instagram to preview one of the songs, titled “Crying in Chanel.” A tracklist for the album has not been revealed. Talking to his fans on the second night of Anita Max Win tour, Drake teases that he’s working on a solo album. “Eventually when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all.”

Drake clearly has “More Life” in him, and we can’t wait to see what music he’s been cooking up. His joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, drops this Friday.

Bruno and ROSÉ are at No. 6. Shaboozey is still at five, as “Birds of a Feather” rises to four. “Luther” is at its peak. Morgan Wallen debuts a new one at No. 2, and grabbing another week at No. 1 is “Die With a Smile.”

Carl Banks show off New Orleans inspired and NFL themed Starter jackets for Super Bowl weekend.

Hi it’s Carl Banks, two time Super Bowl champion and I am here with Billboard. The interesting thing about my relationship with Starter, is I was one of the first athletes to wear the brand when they introduced it back in the 80s. I had a sit down with Rakim and Ed Lover, two of the pioneers of culture and Ed Lover was on Yo MTV Raps and they were responsible for making this brand as popular with culture and then, the guy at MC himself was telling a story, a starter story about how they would go on Delancey Street and Orchard Street and just try to find the newest Starter jackets. So I think when you have those cultural icons that were at the forefront of the brand, it just tells you a lot. Starter has the flyest silhouettes, there was no satin jacket before Starter and they’re still trying to knock it off. The pull over break away jacket, the Anorack is still an iconic piece, these were pieces that were created that people were like “ wow I need that” and you just can’t find that in any other brand. Music is an expression of something, sport is an expression of something, fashion is an expression of something and I think all of those things people can relate to one or the other, Starter is kind of the connector to all of those things. We’ve done a lot of different collaborations, we did Acme Studios which was really cool, we did Levi’s this past fall which was really cool.

And some of her fans think Cardi is doing her friend and collaborator dirty, still working with her ex. She had this to say on X.

I want to make this very clear, when I **** two people and I like two people, I stay away from **** because when it comes to relationship, some **** will always happen. And one thing about me, I’m gonna stay neutral, and I’m gonna stay the **** out of it.
