Emilia: The Argentine Pop Princess Is Ready to Take Over the World | Billboard in Conversation

Argentine pop princess and Billboard cover star Emilia is ready to take over the world. She sits down with Billboard to share her journey from humble beginnings to taking over Argentina, how being part of Rombai helped her solo career, the impact of ‘.mp3,’ her relationship with Duki, “Perdonarte ¿Para Qué?” with Los Angeles Azules becoming her first No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard charts, her preparations for her upcoming tour in Spain and more!

Emilia:

Before going on stage, to give me security and confidence, I tell myself, “I’m Rihanna, I’m Rihanna.” And I don’t know who told me, someone from my team, said now you need to say, “I’m Emilia, I’m Emilia, believe it.”

Jessica Roiz:

Emilia, I loved when you were doing the photo shoot. You came out empowered, confident, really secure. Have you always been like that? Or did it take you a while to get to that person?

Emilia:

I feel like I’ve always been hard-headed, always bossy, but I think security was being worked on over time.

Jessica Roiz:

I also loved when you were being styled and when we were at the photo shoot that you had a playlist with a lot of female rappers, you also had a lot of Y2K, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Shakira. Talk to me about that playlist and why you like to listen to it?

Emilia:

Well, it’s music that I grew up with, a lot of them, because they inspire me, and when I listen to their music I get in a good mood, it boosts my self-esteem, it makes me happy, it makes my whole team dance, I dance. It creates a beautiful energy in the place and love comes out.

FLO on First North American Tour, Working on ‘Access All Areas,’ GloRilla & More | Billboard News

FLO is getting ready to go on tour in America for the first time, and the girl group spills how they’re preparing for their tour, working on Access All Areas, collaborating with GloRilla and Missy Elliott, touring with Kehlani and more!

Will you be going to FLO’s tour? Let us know in the comments!

Kyle Denis:
Before we get into the music, I’m going to ask you guys some random questions so our viewers can get to know you guys a little bit better, all right?

FLO:
Ice breaker!

What current songs are you guys listening to right now?

I’m listening to “Chest Pain” by Malcolm Todd. I love. Brackets “I Love.”

You guys sound like angels, what.

It would have to be Access All Areas. I feel like I haven’t had a lot of time to listen to music, though. If I’ve got time, I’m just slapping on … I’m obsessed with my top songs of 2024 playlist that Spotify kindly crafted for me, but yeah, just the [usual]. Mine would have to be “Get It Over With” by Rihanna. I’ve had that song on repeat for a month straight. I’m obsessed. That’s a passionate one right there.

Who is your favorite actor?

Oh, Viola Davis.

Favorite movie from her?

It would have to be The Help. I feel like it’s basic, but really spoken, as in like it’s not basic, sorry, not basic, but the obvious choice. That’s what I meant. I love How to Get Away with Murder. The strut!

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

I’ve got a few.

Uh oh.

When you walk in the toilet and I’m wiping your wee off the seat. That’s horrible. That’s not even a pet peeve, that’s just disrespectful. I don’t like loud chewing. Don’t like snoring. I’ll leave it there. Any sounds.

Well I haven’t told anyone.

Tell me!

I’m going to take advantage and tell you about it.

Nicky, you came to La Industria hungry.

If they come to La Industria, you have to try these cheese arepas and cream.

And how involved are you in preparing the dishes on the menu?

In almost everything. I mean, my DNA is all over the menu.

Ok, then wait, because I have the menu here.

Oh, no wait.

You just touched it and it moved a little.

The man-

Here comes the most handsome man in the world. So here is the most handsome man in the world. And how are you? Oh, what a delight. Thank you!

Server:

With pleasure.

So, these are the famous arepas with “queso de mano.” “Queso de mano” is the one that is shredded inside?

No.

The reverse?

Yes, the soft one over there, try it! Take a little bite, it’s fine. You’re going to stick a fork in an arepa?

Yeah…

D*amn! You know that I’m a real thug.

Let’s see, but is this a Colombian or Venezuelan arepa?

But you are a lady. This is a Venezuelan arepa.

You clearly know that it is not Colombian.
