But when Kendrick rose up from the stage, the crowd knew exactly what time it was, as he immediately started with Drake diss track “euphoria.” He went through several of his massive hits and “Freedom” felt perfect for the historic occasion. He reunited his iconic group, Black Hippy, and the crowd lost it when he was joined by Dr. Dre who gave “California Love.” But everybody was waiting on this moment. He performed “Not Like Us” five times. He eventually brought Mustard on stage and everyone else involved with this show. Fans even sang along to the track as they exited the venue a night for the culture and the history books.

The reign of “Million Dollar Baby” just won’t stop as Sabrina grabs another ‘Tok hit, and Tinashe hits a new peak. “Million Dollar Baby’ by Tommy Richman is No. 1 for the sixth week on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 for the chart posting June 20. Since the chart began in September 2023, only Mitski’s “My Love Mine All Mine” has ruled for at least six weeks, though Tommy is the only one to log the weeks consecutively.

Mustard Shares 5 Things You Didn’t Know About Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ | Billboard News

Mustard shares 5 Things You Didn’t Know about Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” including his reaction when he first heard it, confirming whether he sampled “Ether” from Nas and more!
Mustard:
What up, it’s Mustard, and here are five things you may not know about “Not Like Us.” One thing you may not know is I did not sample the “Ether” beat. Definitely seen somebody say that; I didn’t sample a Nas song. Second thing you might not know is I heard the song when everybody else heard it. I never heard it before. I wasn’t in the studio with them. I had never heard that song. So when everybody else heard it, I heard it. When I was making it, I was … in the back of my head is: What would Dr. Dre do if Lil Jon was in the studio and they were just clapping on the beat? That was my thought process. It took me approximately 30 minutes to make that beat. And five, I didn’t know he was gonna gas that beat like that. That’s it.

Mustard shares what it was like to work with Kendrick Lamar on “Not Like Us” and its cultural impact. Stay tuned for the full interview!
Mustard:
You see, people like Kendrick, you just like, man, I want to get a song with Kendrick. I had gotten to a place where I was just like, you know, what, I’m just gonna send five beats a day. He never responded until like 12 at night and was like, “This is fire.”
Tetris Kelly:
Wow!
Mustard:
I didn’t know what that– I mean, he I said that about a couple other beats, but I was just like OK, cool.
Tetris Kelly:
What do you think about the cultural impact as well? Because you know, obviously with the lyrics talking about colonizers and “they not like us,” the people singing at the club, at the barbecues. I mean, it’s everywhere.
Mustard:
I’m like, shocked myself, you know? When I look and I’m seeing this is just like — how big that song is. I don’t think I even understood how big it was until it was like No. 1 [on the Billboard Hot 100], and I was like, “This is the biggest song I’ve ever had in my life.” I was more just happy to have a song with Kendrick.
Tetris Kelly:
He just wanted the Kendrick track.
Mustard:
You come from California and you from here, like I’m born and raised in Los Angeles, Compton is right up the street, it’s not far.
Tetris Kelly:
And then let’s talk about like West Coast Legends, you and Kendrick, and Juneteenth? Like this show at The Forum, man that’s gonna be crazy.
Mustard:
It’s like in my backyard. This is gonna be a cakewalk. This is gonna be like one of them things, this feels like wow. Like finally, at the height of my career, at the height of, you know, this success with the song and you get to do it at the Staples Center and The Forum? It’s like in between Compton and Los Angeles is… I don’t even know how to describe it.

Fatherhood is a special state for men who cherish being in a position to raise their children and it seems like it’s something that Joyner Lucas especially enjoys as he shares some screen time with his son for his latest music video.
For his latest visuals to “Three Little Pigs,” Joyner Lucas reads his son the classic bedtime story which plays out through the video via animation though he does take some liberties with the story which centers around a law-abiding wolf who gets “racially profiled” by some police pigs. Needless to say it didn’t end well for the wolf.
Meanwhile super producer Hit-Boy get back behind the mic and in his clip to “Spill,” HB shows just how well he’s living including her extensive wardrobe including some sneakers with an iced out chain wrapped around them. That’s next level.

I just fell in love with it and fell in love with the sound and all the artists attached to that sound in that time and music just isn’t like that anymore. Hey everyone, it’s Stephen Sanchez and you’re watching Billboard News.
Rania Aniftos
Hey everybody, it’s Rania Aniftos with Billboard News and I’m so excited, we’re here with the ultimate crooner today, Stephen Sanchez. I mean, we gotta get to the beginning of it. Of course people love you for your kind of 1950s-style fresh take on a throwback time that people miss. Have you always been into that?
Stephen Sanchez:
Man, I grew up kind of surrounded by that music a little bit. But also there was a ton of self discovery as well. I think more than anything, you know, the lyricism and the orchestral production of those songs, it makes you feel nostalgic even more so. I mean, probably back then that was the norm, right? Like I don’t think anyone was feeling nostalgia. I definitely feel like their love was soundtracked by that music. But I think now even more so this is a feeling of nostalgia.
Rania Aniftos:
Well, that was super clear with “Until I Found You,” because I think people are yearning for this old-school type of love, you know? And a lot of people ended up using that song on TikTok to kind of romanticize the romance.
