CNN commentator Van Jones brought up a good (albeit obvious AF) point regarding a glaring double standard applied to Kamala Harris and Donald Trump in the race for the presidency. During CNN’s Town Hall with Harris, which aired Wednesday (Oct. 23) , Harris answered some tough questions from audience members, and she held her own. However, pundits, especially right-wing pundits, predictably picked her apart and scrutinized her performance in ways they don’t when Trump — arguably the most boorish, childish, bigoted, and idiotic blowhard in the history of modern politics — is in the spotlight.

From thegrio:
On the heels of major news that Donald Trump was quoted admiring Hitler’s generals and was called “fascist” by his longest-serving chief of staff, Harris found herself being criticized by some TV analysts after the town hall for sometimes having long, nuanced answers to policy questions. Trump declined to attend the debate altogether despite multiple debates being standard for a presidential campaign.
“Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are not taking the same exam. And I think it bothers people,” Jones said during a political panel. “He gets to lawless, she has to be flawless. That’s what’s unfair.
“That’s what’s unfair tonight. They’re not taking the same exam. Look she has policies. She may not articulate them perfectly every time. She may not put the stories in the right places.  But she’s fighting for actual ideas that will help real people. And he’s talking about people’s penises … It’s pissing me off.”
Now, listen: Typically, Van Jones is a flip-flopping Aaron Burr-ass political analyst who straddles the line between progressive and conservative and can’t seem to decide whether he wants to denounce Trump or hump his leg a little — but this time, he’s pretty spot on.
Harris’ critics have balked about her not revealing any specific policy ideas, despite the fact that she has been far more candid regarding details of her plans than the guy who said on the debate stage that he merely has “concepts of a plan.”
We should have no interest in any political analyst who is complaining that Harris can have “long, nuanced answers to policy questions” while Trump is out here screaming like a tinfoil hat-wearing maniac about pet-eating Haitians, cancer-causing-windmills, medical Lysol-injections, military boat-sinking batteries that may cause shark attacks, and cops who need “one real rough, nasty day” where they can freely commit acts of police brutality.

I mean, look at what Trump said about late pro-golfer Arnold Palmer just this week. Imagine the media uproar if Kamala Harris stood on a nationally televised stage in front of a massive audience and said this:
“Arnold Palmer was all man and I say that in all due respect to women, and I love women, but this is a guy that was all man…When he took showers with the other pros they came out of there, they said, ‘Oh my God. That’s unbelievable.’”
So, yeah — Harris and Trump might be running in the same race, but they’re not being graded on the same curve. Not by a long shot.

Charlamagne Tha God and Anderson Cooper engaged in a testy back and forth regarding CNN’s coverage of Vice President Kamala Harris concerning how the network has covered her opponent, Donald Trump. Charlamagne Tha God challenged Anderson Cooper on his colleagues making more about Harris’ race while seemingly ignoring Trump’s recent media gaffes and his former staffers framing him as a fascist.
On Thursday (October 24), Charlamagne Tha God was a panelist on Anderson Cooper’s nightly program, and the longtime The Breakfast Club co-host took a question regarding the news Trump will be joining the popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Cooper asked if Harris should follow suit, to which Charlamagne had plenty to say.
“I think that she should keep calling Donald Trump a fascist. And I think that Americans need to keep looking at the rhetoric of Donald Trump because I don’t know why we’re even thinking about electing somebody who’s talking about putting people in camps,” Charlamagne said.
He continued with, “I don’t know why we’re talking, why we want to elect somebody who’s talking about mass deportation. I don’t know why we’re having this conversation about somebody who wants to terminate the Constitution to overthrow the results of an election.”
Charlamagne ended his answer by saying, “Even me bringing it up now, you brought it back to Kamala and Joe Rogan. Anderson, who gives a damn?” which sparked Cooper to position the point that people who are watching the election might care to hear from her on the platform.
Charlamagne, responding to Cooper saying that how the network is reporting on some of Trump’s violent rhetoric, uttered a statement that has since gone viral.
“I feel like I heard more on this network about [if] Kamala Harris Black than I do about, you know, Donald Trump being a fascist,” he said.
This comment seemed to fluster Cooper, who said, “Honestly, that’s bullsh*t” and the conversation essentially derailed from there with Charlamagne flipping the statement back on Cooper saying that the idea that his network has done enough of dissecting Trump’s words as a comparison.
The clip, which was captured by @Acyn, can be viewed below. Keep scrolling to see comments from X.

Beyoncé will be appearing with Kamala Harris in Houston on Friday, October 25. The music icon will be performing.
The Washington Post first reported that Beyoncé would be linking up with Harris on the campaign trail and will be appearing with her mother Tina Knowles, and Country music legend Willie Nelson, too.

This pending official endorsement from Queen Bey was inevitable. While Donald Trump’s music selection usually ends up with cease and desist letters, Beyoncé co-signed the Harris Walz campaign’s use of her 2016 song “Freedom” as a rallying cry.
With less than two weeks to the election Harris is pulling out all the stop’s and Bey’s participation is looking legit, unlike her rumored appearance at the Democratic National Convention. In reality, Beyoncé was never scheduled to attend the DNC.
Also, Bey just dropped a new fragrance.

As you could have guessed, the Bey Hive is going crazy on X (formerly known as Twitter). Don’t take our word for it, see below.
This is a developing story.

Barack Obama demonstrated several times that he is aligned with Hip-Hop culture in several aspects, and a recent appearance at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris adds to that assessment. During the rally in Detroit, Mich., with Eminem bringing out the former president, Barack Obama rapped the opening bars of the Motor City rapper’s smash hit “Lose Yourself” to uproarious applause.
Barack Obama was in Detroit on Tuesday (October 22) to rally voters in support of Vice President Harris, with several thousand in attendance. Ahead of Obama taking the stage, native son Eminem took to the podium to bring the popular former president out in proper fashion.
With Obama taking his place, his typical charm was on display and elevated when he talked through the lines of “Lose Yourself” with the crowd backing him up which only seemed to energize the moment further.
From there, Obama launched into his talking points and took digs at Harris’ opponent, Donald Trump, including reports of his dwindling crowd sizes, attacks on legal immigrants in Ohio, and generally painting the Republican presidential hopeful as a man lacking the traits to lead the country to better pastures.
“Any election is about more than policies, it’s about values and it’s about character,’ Obama said, as reported by the Detroit Free Press.
“Whether this election is making you feel excited or scared or hopeful or frustrated, or anything in between, do not sit back and hope for the best,” Obama said. “Don’t just hope, get off your couch and vote. Vote for Kamala Harris.”
On X, reactions to Barack Obama, including his rapping of Eminem’s bars, have been positive. We’ve got some of them listed below. We have the video clip in question below as well, courtesy of MSNBC.

Somehow, we find ourselves in a national conversation about Black men and our reluctance to support Vice President Kamala Harris over ex-President Donald Trump. Over the weekend, the New York Times released a poll that shows Vice President Harris at 78% among likely Black voters, which puts her nine points behind where President Joe Biden was with Black voters in 2020. Other polls show Trump hasn’t gained nearly as much support among Black voters as the Times poll indicates, but with Election Day right around the corner, and the race being a tie right down the middle, Harris supporters are clearly concerned.

One Democrat who doesn’t appear to be as worried as some is Sen. Raphael Warnock, who made an appearance on CNN Tuesday to assure folks that Black men are going to turn out for Harris and remind us that Trump’s history with Black men includes full-page ads in multiple publications calling for the execution of the Central Park Five (now the Exonerated Five).

“Listen, let me tell you something this morning. Black men are not going to vote for Donald Trump in any significant numbers. There’ll be some. We’re not a monolith,” Warnock told CNN’s Dana Bash, who asked him about the Times poll. “But as Black folk in general, and Black men in particular, consider who Donald Trump is, as they consider the fact that this is the man who literally took out a full-page ad in the New York Times saying that these young teenagers back in the 1980s who were accused of a horrific crime should receive the death penalty.
“And then when it was proven that the Exonerated Five, the Central Park Five, were actually innocent, Donald Trump has shown no deal of concern about what they went through, no deal – no bit of contrition about it,” Warnock continued. “He’s doubled down on his position. This is who he is. And black men know that as they watch him deal with his own criminal problems and concerns, that the criminal justice system certainly doesn’t handle them the way it handles him.”
Not that we needed to go that far back in history to find instances where Trump was being brazenly racist, but Warnock told no lies. Even after they were exonerated after they were wrongly accused as teenagers of attacking and raping a white woman in Central Park in 1989, Trump made it clear he still had it in for the five Black and Latino men, one of whom, Yusef Salaam, has been outspoken about his disdain for Trump as well as his support for Harris.

Anyway, all of this comes not long after former President Barack Obama made a stop in Pittsburg and addressed the topic of Black men who are reluctant or unwilling to vote for Harris, saying, “Part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.” His remarks sparked controversy with some accusing the ex-president of setting Black men up to be scapegoated should Harris lose in November.
Warnock didn’t address the controversy, but he did emphasize that the distinction between Harris and Trump is clear and that Black men, while not a “monolith,” can see that Trump is not our orangey-white savior.
“On the other hand, you’ve got Kamala Harris, who in her work as a prosecutor found ways to give people a path towards a better life, who has spent her whole life as a lawyer, as a senator, and now as vice president, centering the concerns of ordinary people,” Warnock said. “Again, we’re not a monolith, but this idea that large numbers of Black men are going to vote for Donald Trump, it’s not going to happen.”
I guess we’ll see in a few short weeks.

On Monday, October 14, Vice President Kamala Harris told Black men, I see you, and I hear you.
The Harris/Walz campaign is on a mission to strengthen the coalition, specifically with Black voters, where, surprisingly, they lack in comparison to the 2020 Biden/Harris ticket.
Following a moment with former president Barack Obama addressing a small group of Black men directly during a surprise visit to a field office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he had a “Black dad” moment and had some stern words on Black men on the fence about supporting Harris, and suggesting misogynoir is the culprit.
The fallout from Obama’s comments was immediate, with Black men reacting big time. The Harris campaign, which has been out in these political streets a lot lately, has been talking about that exact issue and releasing a new proposal that will provide Black men “with the tools to achieve financial freedom, lower costs to better provide for themselves and their families, and protect their rights.”
The Harris-Walz Policy Broken Down
Part of her proposal, which definitely has cheap Republicans clenching their butt cheeks, is the one million loans that are fully forgivable, up to $20,000, for Black entrepreneurs to start a business. Now, the million-dollar question would be how this would be possible; according to the campaign, the loans would be a product of a new partnership with the Small Business Administration with the addition of some lenders and banks.
The new Harris-Walz policy will also support education training and mentorship programs that lead to good-paying jobs for Black men, plus pathways to becoming teachers.
It also calls for protecting cryptocurrency investments made by Black men, giving them the assurance that their money is safe.
The policy also calls for the launch of a national health initiative that will focus on illnesses that affect Black men disproportionately and also the legalization of marijuana and create opportunities for Black Americans to succeed in the new industry.

The Fallout Continues
While Donald Trump, who has been president, has never come up with any proposals geared toward Black men, with his only claim to being an ally is issuing pardons to rappers, there are still some Black men scoffing at Kamala Harris’ attempt to let Black men know they have a seat at the table.
If you need a perfect breakdown of the discourse surrounding the new policy, look no further than Plies’ social media accounts, where he accurately broke down what

Plies tells no lies.

Geraldo Rivera, a longtime television journalist and pundit, has chosen a side in the upcoming presidential election despite not falling in line with his political party. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Geraldo Rivera openly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris while taking aim at former president Donald Trump and referring to him as a “Sore Loser.”
Geraldo Rivera, 81, who currently works as a correspondent for NewsNation, took to X on Monday (October 13) to deliver a scathing rebuke of Donald Trump while highlighting his support for Vice President Kamala Harris. In his reply, Rivera did not mince words and made certain to lay out why he decided to vote against his party in this election cycle.

From X:

The last time President Trump and I spoke was Friday, November 13, 2020, when he called me at home. It was ten days after his narrow lost to Joe Biden. He was calling to get my take on the controversies surrounding the election, which appeared to have been decided by a handful of votes in several states. I asked him what he would do if the vote count remained against him. As I reported on Fox News that same morning, Friday the 13th, he told me he was a reasonable man and would do the right thing if that time came.
It never did. Instead, President Trump embarked on an increasingly menacing campaign to discredit the 2020 election. With a motley supporting cast of increasingly fringe characters, he careened from one bizarre theory to the next, offering no meaningful proof, that he had been robbed by the Democrats.
None exists. If you are a Republican, Donald Trump has made a liar of you. He has coaxed and intimidated tens of millions into pretending he was reelected in 2020, and that the election was stolen.
In furtherance of that Big Lie, on January 6, 2021, Trump incited and unleashed the violent attack on the center of democracy, the U.S. Capitol for which he was Impeached. As his followers trashed that sacred space, he was on the phone urging Vice President Mike Pence essentially to overturn the will of the American people. Pence refused to put Trump ahead of the Constitution. Trump stabbed the Constitution in the back.
Rivera’s lengthy post goes on to add that anyone supporting Trump’s assertion that the 2020 election was stolen from him are “adopting his big lie about the stolen election makes you a liar” and he clarified the reason he’s voting for Harris by saying “Trump is a sore loser who cannot be trusted to honor the Constitution.”
A spokesperson for Donald Trump retorted to Geraldo Rivera’s X reply by stating “Who’s Geraldo?” although the pair clearly know each other. The Harris-Walz campaign has yet to respond to the endorsement.

Sore Loser
With three weeks to go until Election Day, Donald J. Trump stands a reasonable chance of becoming the 47th President of the United States. Despite assassination attempts, impeachments, special counsels, felony convictions and hundreds of millions in civil penalties,…

Lord Jamar has largely shifted his focus from music and other creative endeavors to becoming a commentator known for his strong and sometimes controversial opinions. A new clip featuring Lord Jamar is going viral with the Brand Nubian star aiming sharp words toward Vice President Kamala Harris and once again attacking the validity of her Blackness.
Lord Jamar sat down with The Art of Dialogue and delivered his thoughts on a bevy of topics including Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, The Notorious B.I.G., Lil Wayne, and more. In the clips that have been published on The Art of Dialogue’s YouTube page, it’s clear that Jamar is not going to bite his tongue. In one clip, Jamar is seen defending presidential hopeful Donald Trump and claims that the former president is not a racist.

In a clip that is currently going viral on social media was Jamar’s assertion that Black men are abandoning Trump for Vice President Kamala Harris, who Jamar says is not a Black woman despite having a Jamaican father and an Indian mother. Supporting many of the conservative and MAGA media talking points, Jamar says that several Black men and women will not support her with their vote.
Further, Jamar, who also referred to Harris using the “b-word,” says he believes that he and other Black voters are being bullied into casting their ballots for Harris, who is recognized as both the first Black and first Indian Vice President of the United States.
The quip from Lord Jamar is making its rounds on X, formerly Twitter, and he had several people cosign his stances regarding Vice President Kamala Harris.
We’ve got reactions from X listed below.

Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed that she owns a Glock and has been to the firing range during her 60 Minutes interview.
On Monday (October 7), the anticipated 60 Minutes interview with Vice President Kamala Harris aired, and included among several of the key moments was Harris speaking about being a gun owner. “It’s a hard left turn here, but you recently surprised people when you said you were a gun owner,” interviewer Bill Whitaker began, “what kind of guns do you own and why did you get them?”

“I have a Glock, and I’ve had it for quite some time,” the Democratic presidential nominee replied. “Look, Bill, my background is in law enforcement, so there you go.” Whitaker then asked her if she’s ever fired it. “Of course I have,” she said with laughter. “At a shooting range. Yes, of course I have.”
https://twitter.com/KamalaHarris/status/1843450339774574637
The topic of the vice president being a gun owner was recently raised during her chat with Oprah Winfrey in Michigan last month, where she mentioned owning a firearm. “If someone breaks into my house, they’re getting shot,” she replied, which garnered laughter from Winfrey and the audience. Harris has mentioned being a gun owner before, as she began her first campaign for the presidency while she was still a U.S. Senator back in 2019. “I own a gun for probably the reason a lot of people do — for personal safety,” she said at the time. She also supported a ban on assault rifles and mandatory gun buybacks, but her current campaign position no longer supports buybacks.
The Harris presidential campaign still advocates for red-flag laws and universal background checks. Her vice presidential pick, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, has spoken publicly about being an avid shooter. He once was viewed favorably by the National Rifle Association, but saw his rating go from an A to an F after he supported tighter gun restrictions once he became governor.

Actress Maya Rudolph thrilled audiences in her SNL return as Vice President Kamala Harris over the weekend.
As Saturday Night Live opened up its 50th season over the weekend, the cold open featured the return of veteran comedienne Maya Rudolph portraying Vice President Kamala Harris. “Well your fun aunt has returned,” she began, “The fun has been rebooted. Too fun, too furious.” From there, Rudolph demonstrated how uncanny her portrayal of the Democratic presidential nominee is, right down to recapturing the exact facial expression Harris displayed during her debate with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Stepping in to portray Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, was comedian Jim Gaffigan. “What can I say? I’ve got that BDE- Big Dad Energy!” Gaffigan said. He continued to portray the effervescent energy of Walz in the intro. “I’ve got to be honest here folks. When Kamala Harris called and asked to be her vice president, I said, ‘Uh, yeah,’” Gaffigan said before adding: “This is personal for me. I love this country. And as a former teacher, I need the money. This suit is from Costco!”

The skit also introduced another SNL alum, Andy Samberg, who played Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff who referred to himself as the “Second Gentle Minch,” and James Austin Johnson as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Lastly, SNL alum Dana Carvey appeared as President Joe Biden leading to a comical exchange where Rudolph said thanks for “putting the country first and for handing over the reins,” to which Carvey replied, “I didn’t want to! They made me.”
Rudolph’s portrayal of Harris has garnered her two Emmy Awards – the first in 2019 for her presidential debate sketch, and in March 2021 when she hosted the show. “When I see her, I see her having fun,” she said in a Variety cover profile about the role. “And so the fictional Kamala that we created tapped into her fun. And then [SNL producer] Steve Higgins said to me that his wife called her a ‘fun aunt,’ and we were laughing at how that sounds like ‘funt.’ We just went from there. That was the moment where you realize, ‘Oh, now I know how to do this.’”
Check out the entire opening sketch above.
