Benny Blanco Fills Bathtub With Queso for Selena Gomez’s Extra-Cheesy Valentine’s Day Gift

Benny Blanco knows that Selena Gomez is a fan of cheesy Valentine’s Day gestures — literally.

In celebration of this year’s Day of Love, the producer showed off the unorthodox gift he gave his famous fiancée: a bathtub full of queso. On an Instagram video posted Friday (Feb. 14), Blanco follows a trail of tortilla chips into his luxurious bathroom, where more chips spell out on the floor, “I [LOVE] YOU.”

He then points his camera at a bathtub full of cheese, dips a chip inside and takes a crunchy bite. “When your fiancé isnt much of a flowers girl,” he captioned the clip, which he paired with his and Gomez’s new duet “Scared of Loving You.”

“I love everything bout this..,” the Rare Beauty founder wrote in the comments.

In addition to edible displays of affection, Gomez and Blanco also celebrated Valentine’s Day 2025 by announcing their new joint album I Said I Love You First. With “Scared of Loving You” serving as the lead single, the 14-track LP will arrive March 21.

And for those who have been following along with the “Lose You to Love Me” singer and Blanco’s love story, the cheese tub is a natural progression in their series of romantic gestures. On V-Day last year, the “Eastside” hitmaker rented out a movie theater for Gomez and stocked it with her favorite foods: Taco Bell, nachos and Hot Cheetos. And in December, he proposed to his fiancée over a picnic of Taco Bell carryout.

The Top 50 R&B Love Songs of All Time

When it comes to making love songs, arguably no other genre has mastered that craft to the degree of R&B.

Its smooth melodic mix of jazz, blues and gospel rhythms, coupled with emotion-packing vocals, dates back to the ‘40s. Since then, the genre has undergone various iterations in its ongoing evolution — soul, funk, hip-hop, neo-soul, contemporary and alternative — while heavily influencing other genres along the way, such as rock n’ roll, country and pop.

Lyrical themes have run the gamut as well, from freedom, protest and pride to joy, pain and simply surviving. But when it comes to the subject of love in particular, R&B brims with colorful and insightful takes on every phase of that rollercoaster emotion: first encounter, between the sheets, courtship, break-up, make-up, marriage, divorce … then taking aim once again with the aid of Cupid’s arrow.

So in celebration of love and Valentine’s Day — and also in recognition of Black History Month — Billboard has compiled a chart-based tally of the Top 50 R&B Songs of All Time. Going back 60 years, the list encompasses the genre’s rich legacy of legendary solo singers and groups, as well as their contemporary counterparts delivering slow-burning ballads, bouncy bops and midtempo paeons to love. All of which are connected by one throughline: Love never goes out of style. And neither do these timeless gems.

Billboard’s Top 50 R&B Love Songs of All Time is based on weekly performance on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart from Jan. 30, 1965, (then the Hot Rhythm & Blues Singles chart) through Feb. 1, 2025. The tally is comprised of songs whose main theme revolves around romantic love versus love of self and others, heartbreak or strictly physical attraction. Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at lower spots earning the least. Due to changes in chart methodology over the years, eras are weighted differently to account for chart turnover rates during various periods.

‘Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown’ Makes Sweet Billboard Chart Debut

Vince Guaraldi’s soundtrack to the 1975 animated TV special Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, debuts across an array of Billboard album charts (dated Feb. 1), including top 10 arrivals on Jazz Albums, Traditional Jazz Albums and Indie Store Album Sales. It also takes a bow on the Kid Albums and Top Album Sales charts.

This is the first time the complete soundtrack to the special has been released, as only select tracks from the program have been released previously.

Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown marked the 13th animated Peanuts special, and premiered on CBS-TV on Jan. 28, 1975. It garnered an Emmy Award nomination for outstanding children’s special.

The soundtrack was issued nearly 50 years to the day after the program’s debut – as the album arrived on Jan. 17, 2025. The 30-track album was released via streaming services, as well as to purchase as a digital download, CD and across three vinyl variants (a standard black vinyl, plus a red-colored edition and pink-colored edition).

Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown enters at No. 7 on Traditional Jazz Albums, No. 9 on the overall Jazz Albums ranking, No. 9 on Indie Store Album Sales, No. 18 on Kid Albums and No. 48 on Top Album Sales. The set earned a little over 2,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 23, according to Luminate, with nearly all of that sum driven by traditional album sales.

Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown is the latest in a series of from-the-vaults Peanuts soundtrack releases Lee Mendelson Film Productions, the company that produced more than 50 Peanuts animated specials. In recent years, the studio has released Guaraldi’s companion albums to You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown; It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

The first Peanuts animated special, 1965’s A Charlie Brown Christmas, launched the evergreen soundtrack album of the same name from Vince Guaraldi Trio. That set has spent more than 100 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Kid Albums chart and has visited the top 40 of the all-genre Billboard 200 in every holiday season for the last 10 years.

Selena Gomez got to celebrate Valentine’s Day with her boyfriend Benny Blanco, and took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday (Feb. 14) to mark the sweet occasion.

“I love you,” she wrote on a selfie of the duo throwing up peace signs while making silly faces. See the photo before it disappears here.

The singer and actress first confirmed that she and Blanco were dating on Dec. 7, about six months into their romance. In a reply to fans on Instagram, she wrote that he “is my absolute everything in my heart” and that she is at her “happiest” in the relationship.

Gomez soon made their relationship fully Instagram official by giving a spot on her main feed to photos with Blanco, including one in which he hugs her among friends, and one in which she leans back to kiss him.

The couple went on the spend New Year’s Eve together, with the Only Murders in the Building actress sharing a photo to her Instagram Stories, in which Blanco has his arms wrapped around Gomez and seems to be giving her a kiss.

Gomez announced on Thursday (Feb. 15) that she will be releasing a new single “Love On” via an Instagram post, telling followers that the track will drop Thursday, Feb. 22. “Wait ‘til I turn my love on,” she captioned the announcement, seemingly quoting one of the song’s lyrics. “Presave my new song ‘Love On’ out 2.22.”

“Love On” will mark Gomez’s first release since “Single Soon,” her Benny Blanco-produced comeback single that dropped in August.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Enjoy Romantic Valentine’s Day Date in Paris: See Photo

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, as they do everything, spent their Valentine’s Day in style. To celebrate the day of love Wednesday (Feb. 14), the couple embarked on a date night in the most romantic city in the world: Paris.

Ri and Rocky enjoyed dinner at César in the French capital, according to People, wearing matching shades. The Fenty mogul sported a champagne-colored skirt and furry wrap, while the “Sundress” rapper stepped out in a brown corduroy jacket, pants and vest set.

The photos show the couple smiling and getting cozy in the restaurant.

The “Umbrella” singer was also in Paris last month for fashion week, where she checked out a Christian Dior runway show.

This year’s V-Day is far from her and Rocky’s first time celebrating the holiday as a couple. The musicians — who share two young sons — have been an item since 2020. In 2022, the “Umbrella” singer shared photos of their Valentine’s celebrations, which featured a bouquet of Lego flowers and dinner with a view.

“Nerdz,” she simply captioned the photos at the time.

In January, while showing off her 2024 Savage X Fenty Valentine’s Day lingerie collection, Ri revealed that, when it comes to her boyfriend, quality time is her love language. “It’s a luxury around these parts, OK?” she said in an Instagram promo video. “I’m busy, big Daddy is busy, and any time someone can carve out a little bit of time for me, I feel really special.”
