Cardi B Helps WWE Announce First-Ever 2-Night SummerSlam Event Coming to New Jersey in 2025

Cardi B has long been a wrestling fan, but has yet to step foot inside the ring. Perhaps that could be changing when WWE’s SummerSlam comes to New Jersey next year, because the WWE has enlisted her to help announce that 2025’s SummerSlam is headed to East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium for the first-ever two-night event of its kind. The action’s all going down on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3, 2025.

Cardi stars in the ad alongside WWE superstar Bianca Belair while her spicy Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit “Enough” provides the soundtrack.

“Here’s to the Streets.. and to my girl @BiancaBelairWWE !SummerSlam. 2Nights. MetLife Stadium. August 2nd and 3rd,” she wrote to Instagram on Thursday (Sept. 26).

The clip finds the Bronx native in the glam room giving her friend Bianca Belair a call to break the good news. “I got two words for you: SummerSlam,” she said. “MetLife.” The WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champion responded: “I’m pretty sure that’s one word.”

Cardi continued with her idea of the two-word trend: “Two nights.”

The Bardi Gang began theorizing that the Grammy-winning rapper could be involved in a match and speculated her long-awaited sophomore album would be out by the time SummerSlam rolls around.

“Love this! You gotta DDT someone at SummerSlam,” USA Network chimed in on her post.

A fan even had an idea for her finishing move, writing in the comments, “Cardi’s finisher should be called Ms. DANGEROUS… ns that would eat!”

While she’s never made an appearance during a show, Cardi B has had her name thrown around inside the WWE universe. Back in 2021, WWE Hall of Fame diva Torrie Wilson gave her a shout-out during an episode of RAW. WWE legend Trish Stratus also lent her stamp of approval to Cardi on X. “Cardi knows,” she wrote.

To which an ecstatic Bardi replied: ““OMMMMMMMGGGGGG !!!!! Bitch I’m gagging !!!! I’m so hype !!!”

The momentum didn’t stop there as former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez professed their hopes of seeing “WAP” collaborators Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion team up in the ring.

“I would love to see Cardi and Meg The Stallion,” the tandem offered in May 2023. “I think Meg would be incredible. They’ve also been so active with us on Twitter and just responded to different things. Those two would be interesting to see in the ring. Us versus Cardi and Meg. Make it happen.”

R. Kelly Survivor Says Singer & Diddy ‘Are a Lot Alike’ in Upcoming ‘IMPACT x Nightline’ Episode: Watch

Sean “Diddy” Combs is the subject of the new episode of Impact x Nightline: Drugs Lies & ‘Freak Offs,’ which will dive into the allegations of sexual assault and abuse made against him, as well as the recent federal charges for racketeering and sex trafficking that the hip-hop mogul is facing.

In a new preview clip shared exclusively with Billboard, Lizzette Martinez, who is a survivor of R. Kelly’s abuse, shares her experience meeting Diddy in the late 1990s. “He’s like, ‘Hey, you have really pretty eyes.’ And said, ‘Hey, I’m having a party. You want to come with me?’” she recalls in the clip. “I didn’t have a good feeling about it and I just declined. Thinking about it now, it’s like, ‘Wow, I really dodged a bullet.’”

The disgraced R&B singer (real name Robert Sylvester Kelly) is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence after he was convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges in 2021. In 2022, he was also convicted of six counts of child pornography and enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Martinez noted that she thought R. Kelly and Diddy are “a lot alike,” claiming that they are both “predators” who like to manipulate. She continued, “They’re dangling a career in front of you. They use the power to get you to where they want you.”

Billboard has reached out to reps for Diddy for comment. The music mogul — who has previously denied all allegations of sexual assault and abuse made against him — has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was denied bail twice, and is currently awaiting trial behind bars. After his arrest, his lawyer told Billboard in a statement: ” We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. … He is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal.”

Impact x Nightline: Drugs Lies & ‘Freak Offs’ will also feature an interview with Tiffany Red, a producer and songwriter who is friends with Diddy’s ex-partner Cassie Ventura, who filed a now-settled lawsuit against Diddy in November accusing the mogul of assault. She was also seen in a 2016 video obtained by CNN, in which Combs appears to shove Ventura to the ground near an elevator bank, kick her several times while she lies on the ground and drag her down a hallway.

“I can’t unsee that Cassie video,” Martinez says of the clip, while getting emotional. “You can tell me whatever you want about him, but I can’t unsee that video. She helped others to feel like they can come forward and that’s huge, because you put yourself on the line.”

Impact x Nightline: Drugs Lies & ‘Freak Offs’ begins streaming on Thursday (Sept. 26) on Hulu. Watch the preview clip featuring Martinez below.

50 Cent’s Documentary Surrounding Diddy’s Abuse Allegations Is Coming to Netflix

50 Cent’s upcoming documentary surrounding Diddy’s history of alleged sexual abuse is coming to Netflix.

Per Variety, the doc produced by the G-Unit mogul is currently in production and will call the streaming giant home, with Alexandria Stapleton directing. The untitled work will center around Sean Combs’ sexual assault and abuse allegations, and also tie in his recent federal charges for racketeering and sex trafficking.

“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” 50 and Stapleton relayed in a joint statement to Variety on Wednesday (Sept. 25). “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives.”

They continued: “While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”

50’s G-Unit Film & Television division will executive produce the documentary, while Stapleton is on board to helm the project and also produce through her company House of Nonfiction.

The documentary does not yet have a release date time frame or details regarding how many parts it will include.

50 originally announced plans for the doc about Diddy in December following a bombshell lawsuit filed by the Bad Boy CEO’s ex Cassie a month prior.

A spokesperson for 50 Cent confirmed to Billboard in December that proceeds received by 50’s G-Unit Film & Television division from the project will go toward helping victims of sexual assault and rape.

50’s been relentless in his trolling of Diddy for months even prior to the music mogul being indicted. “I been telling y’all about all this weird s–t, I don’t do NO puffy party’s. you didn’t believe me but I bet you believe me now,” he wrote on social media Wednesday alongside his announcement of the doc coming to Netflix.

He didn’t stop there when jabbing his longtime rival. The Queens legend posted a Photoshopped picture on Instagram of baby oil, which he rebranded to a bottle of “Diddy Oil.” Investigators reportedly seized more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant when raiding Diddy’s L.A. and Miami homes earlier this year, according to the Associated Press.

Sean Combs was arrested on Sept. 17 in NYC and has since been denied bond twice. Diddy will remain in prison until his trial. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Joaquin Phoenix Was ‘Sick’ With Nerves Over Singing With Lady Gaga, ‘Joker 2’ Director Reveals

Singing with Lady Gaga on the set of Joker: Folie à Deux was no joke for Joaquin Phoenix.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly published Wednesday (Sept. 25), director Todd Phillips revealed that the film’s star actor was “sick every day” with nerves about pulling off his vocal numbers alongside one of the most renowned modern singers. The pressure was especially on, considering Phoenix had to dive into shooting the Joker sequel’s musical numbers as soon as nine days into production — but luckily, Gaga was able to help him through it.

“The truth is, they gave each other pointers,” Phillips told the publication. “He’d give her pointers about acting; she’s been in movies, but he’s Joaquin Phoenix. She gave him tips about music because she’s Lady Gaga. It’s what movies should be: a giant collaboration.”

The filmmaker also shared that the 13-time Grammy winner’s notes to Phoenix were “a little more specific” and along the lines of, “You’re not hitting the note there.” “There’s less room for interpretation [with singing],” Phillips added.

Trending on Billboard

Even so, Gaga has said before that she and Phoenix were aiming for less polished vocals to give their characters — Harley Quinn and Joker, respectively — more authenticity. “I’m a trained singer, right? So even my breathing was different when I sang as Lee,” she told Empire in July. “When I breathe to sing on stage, I have this very controlled way to make sure that I’m on pitch and it’s sustained at the right rhythm and amount of time, but Lee would never know how to do any of that. So it’s like removing the technicality of the whole thing, removing my perceived art-form from it all and completely being inside of who she is.”

The “Rain on Me” singer — who recently announced a companion album for the film, Harlequin — has also said that Folie à Deux isn’t necessarily a musical, despite featuring multiple elaborate song-and-dance numbers led by the film’s two stars. Phillips is on the same page, and while speaking to EW, he clarified that the distinction isn’t because he’s “afraid of the term ‘musical.’”

“Most of the times I’ve ever seen a musical, I walk out feeling better than I did when I walked in,” he said. “On this movie, I’m not sure it’s the same thing. I wouldn’t want to be misleading and say you’re going to be whistling the songs from this movie on the way to your car after you see it.”

‘America’s Got Talent 2024′ Crowns Winner

Singing janitor, fan-favorite, and now season champion. Richard Goodall is the new king of America’s Got Talent.

The powerful vocalist, who won Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer earlier in the competition, heard his name called on Tuesday night’s episode, beating out nine other finalists.

Goodall wept as the glitter rained down, and season 19 of AGT reached its conclusion. “Simon (Cowell) says ‘two minutes can change your life,” he remarked. “My life has been changed.”

Proving romance isn’t dead, Goodall married his fiancée, Angie Vanoven, in the week leading up to the final. “Ang, I did it,” he called out to his wife as the AGT celebrations kicked off.

“I’m so excited for you Richard,” Klum shouted.

Across his victorious AGT run, Goodall caught the nation’s attention with a cover of Michael Bolton’s power ballad “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,” Survivor’s ultimate fight song “Eye of the Tiger” and, finally, Journey’s “Faithfully.”

Life imitated art when, during the finale, Goodall teamed up with Journey’s Neal Schon for a rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin,’” which he hit for the first round of Auditions.

By day, the 55-year-old is an elementary school janitor. Now, on top of bragging rights, he collects AGT’s $1 million prize.

“Thankfully it’s a song that I had been singing to Ang for a very, very long time,” Goodall told NBC of his decision to sing “Faithfully.” “I started with Journey, I wanted to end the competition with Journey. And then little did I know I was going to be a big footnote at the end of the book… Phenomenal.”

After his performance of “Faithfully” last week, a standing ovation from the entire room. “I could feel the energy behind me. Honestly, from the minute you came on the show,” Simon Cowell remarked. We all “need a hero right now and you are our hero.”

Howie Mandel made a bold prediction: “I think you just sang yourself $1 million”. He was right.

Richard Goodall Opens Up About His ‘Beyond Surreal’ Journey to Winning ‘America’s Got Talent’

Six months ago, 55-year-old Richard Goodall was a janitor in Terre Haute, Indiana, whose soul-filled vocal talent caught the attention of fans on TikTok. On Tuesday (Sept. 24), Goodall was officially crowned the winner of America’s Got Talent season 19.

“Being who I am, a janitor for 23 years, now singing songs on TV and singing with Journey. I mean, you can’t make that stuff up,” he tells Billboard of his reaction to the finale, where he performed onstage with the iconic rock band’s guitarist Neal Schon. He took home the trophy over his fellow talented acts, including Roni Sagi & Rhythm, a dog-and-human dance duo; Solange Kardinaly, a magician, Sky Elements, a drone light show and more. “This is beyond surreal. I couldn’t dream up everything that’s happened to me. I mean, there’s a bucket list, and then there’s a bucket list that you didn’t even know existed.”

From his audition, Goodall won America’s heart with his everyday man demeanor and down-to-earth perspective on life. Beyond his lovable personality, judge Heidi Klum was so blown away by Goodall’s effortless vocal ability, that she gave him the coveted Golden Buzzer that sent him straight to the live shows. “She just loved hugging my neck and telling me, ‘Well, what a wonderful job you’re doing’ every single time I’ve seen her. She’s an amazing lady,” Goodall said of the model.

Trending on Billboard

However, winning AGT is just the cherry on the cake of an exciting week for Goodall, who also married his longtime love Angie just before the finale. “It was long overdue. I had proposed to her a very long time ago, and she had the ring and everything. We’re a little bit older, and we didn’t really need a piece of paper to say that we’re married,” he explains. “The thought had just crossed both our minds at the same time that it was just the time to do it. We didn’t videotape it or anything, just a photographer. So, as far as the show goes, it wasn’t about trying to get votes or anything like that. It was because we both decided that it was time that we did it for real.”

While Goodall is openminded to musical opportunities in the future, he says he’s focused being “smart” about the $1 million prize money and going with the flow of his incredible accomplishment. “[Angie and I] are already talking with a financial advisor, making sure that we’re being smart about all this,” he reveals. “We’re not just two kids that are just flying by the seat of our pants. This popularity, this fame thing is new, but we want to be smart about it, and whatever comes in the near future, we can decide together as adults and as a man and wife and figure out what path we want to take.”

For now, Goodall remains an inspiration to people worldwide who have a dream. “When you see me, I just scream regular person. You could see me standing at the bus stop or going to Ralph’s to pick up your groceries and pick out my groceries. I don’t look like something, you know, that’s extraordinary or supermodel-ish,” he says, before concluding with these words of wisdom: “Nothing is out of reach in this world, but you got to work at it. You gotta put the time in if you want it bad enough. Sky’s the limit.”

Ryan Murphy Says Travis Kelce Was the ‘Most Delightful Person’ on ‘Grotesquerie’ Set

Ryan Murphy loved working with Travis Kelce on his upcoming series, Grotesquerie.

“It was very unexpected,” the TV writer shared with ET of writing a role specifically for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. “I didn’t know Travis and I thought we were having a general meeting, but he was so passionate about wanting to try it, and I always have a theory that ‘a star is a star is a star.’ He’s a big star in every arena. I was just moved by it and his ambition and he’s guy who wants to try new things. I said, ‘Well, I don’t know if I have anything now.’ Then, I thought about it and I did and I called him back and I pitched him, and expanded it and wrote it for him.”

He continued of the athlete, “I love his discipline […] He was a little nervous at first, but we worked together and had a ball. He’s just the most delightful person.
