After NCT DREAM stole the show during their first U.S. performance at KCON 2022 in Los Angeles earlier this year, the K-pop boy band is connecting with international fans once again with the release of their In a Dream movie. The full-length film will go into Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung’s world both on and off stage as the group prepares and performs their largest concert to date in South Korea’s massive Olympic Stadium.
Throughout the two-hour feature, fans will get live performances, rehearsal footage and intimate interviews in which the seven members discuss one another and also see themselves on screen as they read and watch messages from their NCTzen fans filmed on site. Beyond that, viewers can take in In a Dream via special ScreenX, 4DX, and 4DXScreen experiences, which offer multisensory effects for viewers.
“We are thrilled to release NCT DREAM’s first movie all around the world,” Jongryul Kim, CEO at CJ 4DPLEX, said in a statement. “Also, we are pleased to continue our relationship with Trafalgar Releasing and to partner for the first time with SM Entertainment to bring NCT DREAM’s movie to cinemas worldwide. NCTzens all around the globe now can enjoy the concert performances and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage on the big screen, especially in our special formats — ScreenX, 4DX, and 4DXScreen.”
Ahead of In a Dream‘s release, Billboard got some exclusive reflections from NCT DREAM about the moments from the film they loved and want NCTzens to look out for the most. From the must-see arrangements to sound and facial details, here’s a primer from the septet before you head to the theater for the November and December screenings.
Dolly Parton and Kelly Clarkson have teamed up for a performance of the country icon’s 1981 hit “9 to 5” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and offered a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the rehearsals when Parton visited the show’s set.
“I love Kelly. I love your show,” Parton tells the show’s music director Jason Halbert in a clip released Wednesday (Nov. 30). “Y’all do a great job.”
For the performance, the music team recreated the signature typewriter sound from the original and brought in a horn section. Meanwhile, the clip shows Clarkson and Parton showing off their vocal talents, sharing harmonies and showcasing their fanship of one another.
Earlier this year, Parton and Clarkson released a studio version of their collaboration of the song, which premiered in the documentary Still Working 9 to 5. For their upcoming performance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, they melded the new version with the original for a one-of-a-kind performance.
Music luminary Parton wrote the working-class anthem for the 1980 movie of the same name, which she also starred in alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
Parton’s original “9 to 5” spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1981, becoming one of her biggest hits, alongside her Kenny Rogers collaboration “Islands in the Stream,” which also spent two weeks atop the chart in 1983.
Earlier this year, Clarkson honored Parton by performing “I Will Always Love You” during the 57th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
Watch the behind-the-scenes clip of “9 to 5” from The Kelly Clarkson Show below. The performance airs on Thursday (Dec. 1).
Get ready to learn exactly 73 new facts about Jenny from the block. For Vogue‘s latest “73 Questions” video, Jennifer Lopez opened up about the sequel to one of her movies she’d most like to make (hint: it would also star her husband, Ben Affleck!) and talked about new music, motherhood and more.
Wearing khaki trousers and a cropped white button-up, J. Lo started the video by opening her front door to greet Vogue and let viewers in to her Los Angeles home. On a wooden table in her entryway rests a framed photo of her and Affleck, her husband since July of this year, who was the subject of a couple of the “On the Floor” singer’s answers.
When asked about who makes her laugh the most between takes on film sets, a small smile spread across Lopez’s face. “My husband,” she said, grinning. “Ben.”
The Marry Me actress also revealed that of all the films she’s made, she’d most want to star in a sequel to Gigli — aka, the movie set on which she first met Affleck.
Lopez announced just days prior to the Wednesday (Nov. 30) “73 Questions” interview that she’ll be releasing her first proper album in eight years in 2023. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of her 2002 hit record This Is Me … Then, the new album will be titled This Is Me … Now, and will feature 13 tracks.
“People think they know things about what happened to me along the way, the men I was with — but they really have no idea, and a lot of times they get it so wrong,” she said in her Nov. 8 Vogue cover story. “There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone. And I feel like I’m at a place in my life, finally, where I have something to say about it.”
The Bronx native spoke in more detail about her new music, life and her decades-long career for “73 Questions,” opening up about her sprawling film credits — Hustlers challenged her the most, her title character in Selena is the most like her in real life — as well as parenting her two children, Max and Emme.
“The most rewarding thing is that they wind up teaching you,” she said of her kids, adding that the “teenage years” are the most intimidating.

Tucker portrays a country music singer who is overwhelmed with her work on an over-the-top Hollywood production and seeks respite by retreating to her grandmother’s Tennessee farm. However, she also finds much-needed reconnection on several levels, from rekindling a romance with an ex-lover, returning to her own musical roots, and discovering a unique familial bond when she realizes three children who have outsmarted the local foster care system are instead residing at the family’s property.
In addition to Tucker, the cast includes Keith Carradine, Ana Oritz and Olivia Sanabia. Tucker also serves as an executive producer on the project, alongside Stephanie Slack, Margret Huddleston, Ali Spuck and Kristofer McNeeley.
“It’s amazing that after 50 years in this business, I get to see my dreams become reality! And being part of A Nashville Country Christmas is definitely one of them,” Tucker said in a statement. “I’ve always wanted to do more acting, and it was a gift from the good Lord when this role came along. I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the movie this season.”
The film was produced by Andrew Gernhard and Dustin Rikert, and directed by Ashley Williams. For MTV Entertainment Studios, executive producers include Trevor Rose, Leslie Fram, Amal Baggar, Andrew Lutin and Donny Hugo Herran.
An encore presentation of A Nashville Country Christmas will air Sunday, Dec. 25, at 11 a.m. ET on CMT.
The romantic holiday movie is the latest film project for two-time CMA Award winner Tucker, who recently teamed with Brandi Carlile for the documentary The Return of Tanya Tucker, which chronicles Tucker’s five decades in the music industry, as well as the making of her Grammy-winning album While I’m Livin’ (produced by Carlile and Shooter Jennings). Over the years, Tucker has also appeared in several TV movies and series, including 1979’s The Rebels and 1981’s The Love Boat. In 2005, she starred in and served as executive producer for the reality series Tuckerville.

The mustachioed Colombian artist was joined by his wife, Venezuelan singer and actress Evaluna Montaner, to sing their charming pop duet “Índigo,” which is also, sweetly, the name of their daughter. The performance opened up with its characteristic sunny electric guitar riff, and backed by mid-tempo drumming, but adding more acoustic guitar jangle than the original recorded version.
Camilo arrived barefoot as usual in green boho-styled pants, and Evaluna was clad in a black one-piece with colorful embroidered butterflies. Together, their vocals created beautiful harmony. “How can you dream about someone you have never even met?/ I don’t know if it’s possible, but I’ve been dreaming about you for a long time now,” they sang in Spanish.
“That process of being with Indigo from inside to outside began to generate a bunch of feelings inside me that I didn’t know I had. And seeing them made me immortalize them in songs,” Camilo told Billboard Español in September. “It was a process of, ‘Go downstairs, look at Evaluna’s belly, write a song; go downstairs, look at Evaluna’s belly and play guitar.’ They were some of the prettiest days in my life.”
“Índigo” is the first single from his third album, and the tune premiered in October of last year. Yet there is somewhat of a déjà vu moment going on with the late-night appearance. On Nov. 6, 2021, Camilo and his wife joined the late-night-show stage — but with the other Jimmy on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Since then, the track has received many accolades. The pop ballad peaked at No. 3 on Billboard‘s Latin Pop Airplay chart, reached No. 21 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, and No. 16 on Latin Airplay. “Índigo” also won best couple song at Premio Juventud 2022, and was nominated for song of the year at the 2022 Latin Grammys.
With the continued rise of Latin music, more and more Latin music performers are making their way to late-night talk shows. This year, viewers saw Sebastian Yatra and Becky G on Kimmel, as well as Rauw Alejandro, Rosalía, Maluma, Anitta rock the screen. For the complete list of all the Latin artists on late-night TV in 2021 and 2022, check out this list.

For their “last chance” to stay, Cruse performed “Brooks & Dunn’s “Believe;” Kique hit Leon Bridges’ “River;” and Rowan Grace tackled Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.”
Matters took a slight detour for Kique, the teenage Miami native who tested positive to COVID-19 at the end of last week and performed from isolation in a different location.
Following the performances, Kique appeared, again, on a separate screen watching and waiting for the result.
On this occasion, youth had to step aside to class as Cruse, the 30-year-old from Woodville, TX, beat her teenage opponent.
“Kim, it’s hard for me to believe you’re not walking out of here with the utmost confidence. Because when I see you, I see so much gifted, beauty, power and soul in your voice,” Legend remarked. “When I work with you, I just see so much musical understanding and understanding of how to express your voice in such an incredible way. You are just a joy to work with truly.”
Also on the night, Legend and his Team (Cruse, Omar Jose Cardona and Parijita Bastola) performed The Band’s “The Weight,” while Gwen Stefani and her Team sang Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House.”
Cruse joins the final 8, which includes bodie (Team Blake), Morgan Myles (Team Camila), Omar Jose Cardona (Team Legend), Justin Aaron (Team Gwen), Brayden Lape (Team Blake), Parijita Bastola (Team Legend), and Bryce Leatherwood (Team Blake).
This year’s season reaches its climax with a two-part finale, set to air Dec. 12 and on Dec. 13.
He’s already a 14-time Grammy Award winner, and now Kendrick Lamar is hoping to extend his good fortune to the Oscars.
Leading up to the 2023 Academy Awards — whose shortlist voting takes place next month, Dec. 12-15 — Lamar spoke with Variety in an interview published Tuesday (Nov. 29) about his short film We Cry Together, in which he stars opposite Taylour Paige.
For the rapper, one of the most important things about his short film was to make sure that it felt real. We Cry Together sees Lamar and Paige exploring a relationship that’s equal parts vulnerable and toxic from the confines of a small space. The film, should it secure a nomination, would be up for a spot in the best live action short category at the Academy Awards.
“It challenged me to actually live in what I was writing, and really be there and be present with Taylour [Paige],” Lamar said. “And I remember us going back and forth and feeling like, damn, I understand this character even more because I’m evoking the energy from it and the passion from it because it’s alive, and it’s direct.”
Lamar directed the short alongside Dave Free and Jake Schreier; in the interview, Free noted that “when we went into this project, Kendrick was telling me about how he wanted the room to feel thick, and the room to feel intense … He wanted to really address topics that we, as a society, kind of shy away from.”
“The Heart Part 5” rapper added, “So in writing, I say, ‘OK, how can I make this feel personal, but also holding up a mirror as a collective concept, rather than just a personal concept.’ I wanted to bring that drama because, at the end of the day, whether we like it or not — the good, the bad and the ugly, the pros and cons — that’s what makes everything evolve.”
Of the filmmaking process, Lamar stated that it allowed him to have “more freedom, as a person. Being able to run toward my fear and say the things I want to say and do it in an artistic way — it allowed me to live my truth even deeper.”
Only 10 films will make the shortlist for the Oscars’ best live action short category, before being narrowed down to the final five nominees. Lamar — who was previously nominated alongside SZA, Mark “Sounwave” Spears and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith for an Oscar in 2019 for the Black Panther track “All the Stars” in the best original song category — will learn if We Cry Together made the cut when the shortlist is revealed on Dec. 21.
Lamar and Free are nominated for a Grammy as directors of Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5,” which is up for best music video. Lamar and Free won in that category five years ago for “Humble.,” which they co-directed with Dave Meyers.
Ever thought about what it might be like getting stuck in a museum for a night? Joshua Bassett might have an idea.
The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actor will star as Nick Daley — the son of Ben Stiller’s original night-watchman character from the 2006 film — in the upcoming animated feature Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again. Bassett puts his voice-acting chops to the test in the movie’s first trailer, which dropped Tuesday (Nov. 29).
Unlike the original movie trilogy, Kahmunrah Rises Again — which will air exclusively on Disney+ — is now animated and features many of the beloved characters from the franchise, including Sacagawea, Teddy Roosevelt and Rexy, returning as cartoon versions of themselves, as Bassett’s Daley takes over the role of night guard for his father at the American Museum of Natural History.

Metallica recently changed their tune on licensing out music, and now, it’s paying off big time. In a Monday (Nov. 28) interview with Howard Stern, Lars Ulrich opened up about how the band’s game-changing collaboration with Stranger Things — which saw one of the show’s most pivotal season four scenes using “Master of Puppets” as a backing track — came to be, from start to finish.
“It used to be, with Metallica, we were always the ‘no’ guys,” Ulrich explained, saying he and his bandmates had never wanted to lend out their songs to TV and film projects until just a couple years ago, when they changed their minds.
“We did a 180,” the drummer shared. “We just said, ‘You know what? This is stupid. Why are we hanging onto these [songs] like they’re so important, like they’re the crown jewels?’ We started saying yes to everything. Let’s share our music with the world.”
After the Netflix sci-fi series heavily featured “Master of Puppets” in its season four finale — during a scene in which Joseph Quinn’s character Eddie epically performs the 1986 track in the Upside Down — Metallica experienced a surge in streams. Nearly four decades out from its original release, “Master of Puppets” made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100, skyrocketing to a peak at No. 35.
“It was such a mindf–k to see how that became a phenomenon,” Ulrich continued. “It was totally unexpected. Who would’ve thought 40 years later that these songs could still have that impact? We were psyched to be part of it.”
This isn’t the first time Metallica has shown love to Stranger Things following the tribute. The band gave its seal of approval four days after the season four finale dropped on Netflix, writing on Instagram that they were “blown away.” And just last month, frontman James Hetfield dressed up as Eddie for Halloween.
Over the summer, Metallica also met up with Quinn for an epic jam session, which Ulrich also talked about with Stern. “He came, we played together, he knew the song,” he raved. “He was such a sweetheart.”

“Shine, it’s your golden hour.” Bodie knows what time it is, and he didn’t let the chance go slipping by.
During Monday night’s (Nov. 28) Live Top 10 Performances on NBC’s The Voice, the California native performed a modern classic, JVKE’s 2022 release “Golden Hour.”
The stirring number allowed Bodie to showcase his well of talents, from rapping to singing, with range and power notes.

Performing with a string quartet, the 29-year-old got coach Camila Cabello on her feet. Afterwards, Blake Shelton remarked that it “may be the hardest song” he’d heard someone attempt to perform on The Voice. “I was also thinking,” he continued, “this may be the greatest performance I’ve ever seen on this show.”
He added, “You’re incredible, dude. I don’t even know what else to say.”
Shelton’s missus Gwen Stefani noted, “You definitely have your own lane. I’m always amazed by your voice.”
Many have been amazing by Bodie’s vocals and abilities throughout his journey on season 22 of The Voice.
During the blind auditions, all four coaches turned their chairs for the singer, after he performed The Fray’s “You Found Me”. Ultimately, he joined Team Blake.
He won through in a battle with Jaeden Luke on Justin Bieber‘s “As Long as You Love Me,” earning high praise from Cabello: “You were even better than I remember in your blind. Your runs were crazy, then your belts were masterful. You were flawless.”
And last week, during the Top 13 Live show, he impressed yet again with his transformation of The Proclaimers’ 1980s hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”. Stefani was moved to say that she’s “in awe” of the singer. “I’m crying, first of all,” she remarked. “Second of all, you are so gifted, and so talented… I can’t believe you’re not a huge star yet.”
There’s still time.
Now, America can now vote for the artists to progress into the Top 8.
