After walking away from the 2023 CMT Awards with three trophies and the most awards of the night, the rap-country music star Jelly Roll is now giving up an inside look into his life with a raw and emotional documentary.
Jelly Roll: Save Me is a new ABC News documentary that will provide an in-depth look at how the “Son of a Sinner” singer went from struggling with addiction and his mental health to country stardom. You’ll be able to catch his life story when it premieres Tuesday (May 30) on Hulu right before his new album Whitsitt Chapel drops on Friday.
The documentary announcement described the film as a highlight reel leading up to his hometown show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Before then, it’ll be showing us his life before including his incarcerations as an adolescent and adult, becoming a breakout star in 2022 and how the singer grapples with his sudden rise to fame. In the midst of it all, we’ll get a peek at how he balances philanthropic work at a juvenile delinquent center (the same one he was in and out of as a adolescent) where he shares his story and attempts to help at-risk youth.
How to Watch Jelly Roll: Save Me
The country star’s documentary is considered a Hulu Original, which means it’s exclusive to the streamer and you won’t find it anywhere else. If you’re already a subscriber, then you can watch it for free for no additional charge.

Last week, Metro announced the first three features, including Future, Don Toliver and James Blake. Known for his creative punch, Metro cleverly unveiled the lineup by posting illustrations of each artist in Spider-Man costumes. The first reveal was Don Toliver, who is in a purple custom Spidey suit. “Don Toliver is confirmed for the @spiderversemovie soundtrack available everywhere June 2!!,” wrote Metro. After disclosing Future and James Blake’s appearances in their respective illustrated costumes, the following posts shared similar captions.
The A$AP Mob commander’s appearance will be his first since his assist on Tyler, The Creator’s “Wharf Talk” last month and his loosie “Same Problems,” which dropped in January. “Same Problems” was a tribute that spoke to recent losses in hip-hop and learning how to break the generational trauma affecting today’s stars. “How many problems get solved?/ Am I a product of things that I saw/ How many problems get solved?/ Am I a product of things in my songs,” Rocky recited on the song’s chorus. There isn’t a timetable for the Harlem star’s forthcoming fourth album.
Check out all the illustrations below. The Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack drops Friday (June 2).

With The Idol‘s release less than a week away, HBO Max and The Weeknd have now dropped the highly anticipated show’s official trailer — and it’s steamy.
In the minute-and-a-half preview, viewers get a glimpse into how the “Blinding Lights” popstar’s character, a nightclub owner-turned-cult leader named Tedros, steadily takes over the life and career of Lily-Rose Depp’s co-starring character, a rising pop star named Jocelyn, throughout the series. “You’re the American dream,” he tells her in a voiceover in the trailer, which dropped Tuesday (May 30), over clips of the two making out and dancing under club lights. “Rags to riches. Trailers to mansions. You are f–king Jocelyn.”
“He’s brainwashed her,” says a concerned, offscreen voice later on, followed by a creepy clip of The Weeknd’s Tedros cackling.
“You’re not a human being. You’re a star,” he then tells Jocelyn at the end of the new trailer, which also includes scenes of the pair engaging in Fifty Shades of Grey-esque foreplay that Tedros insists will help her become a better performer.
Co-created by The Weeknd and Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson, The Idol made its world premiere last week at Cannes Film Festival, where it received a standard five-minute standing ovation from the audience but was afterward tanked by largely negative early reviews. The musical drama, which is billed as the “sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood,” will become available for streaming on HBO Max — now known as just Max after a recent name change — on June 4.
Suzanna Son, Rachel Sennott, Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Hank Azaria, BLACKPINK’s Jennie and more are also in the show’s cast, though the new trailer includes less of their characters than previous The Idol teasers.
