Andrea Bocelli Shares His Life Like Never Before in Upcoming ‘Because I Believe’ Documentary

Entertainment One announced on Thursday (Aug. 24) that it will be producing and financing an upcoming documentary for Italian superstar Andrea Bocelli.

Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe will be filmed in Italy and America as it delves into the 64-year-old singer’s musical talent as well as his personal life, offering never-before-seen insights into his life story as well as scenes beyond the stage with his family and friends.

The Cosima Spender-directed film features Bocelli and his wife Veronica Bocelli as executive producers alongside Scott Rodger, Francesco Pasquero and eOne’s Tara Long, Malcolm Gerrie, Matt Pritchard and Geno McDermott. Jan Younghusband serves as the doc’s producer.

“It’s always a privilege to be invited into someone else’s world,” Spender said in a press release. “When that person is Andrea Bocelli, it’s an opportunity to delve into a landscape of sounds, memories, and opera that are entirely unique to him. Andrea and I instantly recognized each other thanks to the simple fact: we were born and grew up in the same rural Tuscan region. This meant an immediate understanding of sense of humor, attitude to life, and a shared attachment to the land we come from.”

“This film is a truly unique insight into the life and times of the world’s most loved tenor,” Younghusband adds. “It is an honor to work with Andrea and his family, friends, and colleagues and to support this unique collaboration with filmmaker Cosima Spender, as the Maestro shares his wisdom as never before about the road to his success.”

Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe is currently in production and is scheduled for release next year, which coincides with Bocelli’s milestone 30th anniversary in the music industry.

Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham have returned with a brand new group of fighters for the highly anticipated Expendables 4 film, and the trailer released on Wednesday (Aug. 23) promises violence, action and lots of gore. That’s why, unlike the previous film, this one is rated R.

50 Cent, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais and Andy Gracia join the franchise as newcomers, alongside returning cast members Dolph Lungren and Randy Couture. In the trailer, the group is seen cutting throats, shooting guns and trigger explosions as a voiceover assures moviegoers that they are in for a bloody good time.

“We heard you, loud and clear,” the narrator says over vicious scenes from the upcoming film. “‘Please make Expendables 4 rated R.’ ‘There better be violence and lots of it.’ ‘I want all the blood and guts.’ […] Expendables, definitely rated R.”

The fourth installment of the film comes nearly 10 years after Expendables 3 was released back in 2014. At the time, the film didn’t do as well in the box office as expected, and Stallone said that making the film PG-13 to appeal to a wider audience was a “horrible miscalculation.”

Expendables 4 arrives eight years after it was announced in 2015, with an initial 2017 release date. Production eventually started in fall 2021, and the Scott Waugh-directed film is set to hit theaters on September 22.

Selena Gomez Recreates ‘Sex and the City’ Scene to Promote ‘Single Soon’ & Kim Cattrall Approves

And just like that, Kim Cattrall is a Selena Gomez fan. The actress put her stamp of approval on the pop star’s simple but perfect way of promoting her upcoming single — by recreating one of Cattrall’s iconic scenes from Sex and the City.

In a Tuesday (Aug. 23) TikTok, Gomez lip-synchs along to a piece of dialogue from the NYC-set series, miming a phone call with her hand. “It’s over, I told my wife!” a man on the other end of the call says, to which the Rare Beauty founder mouths along Cattrall’s in-character response “Who is this?” before shrugging her shoulders and hanging up.

“Single Soon this Friday!” Gomez wrote in her caption, reminding fans of her Aug. 25 release.

The clip is a fan-favorite scene from Cattrall’s SATC character Samantha Jones, who unceremoniously breaks up with a married lover. Upon seeing Gomez’s recreation, Cattrall herself took to Twitter to say, “I approve this message.”

The “Lose You to Love Me” singer first announced “Single Soon” last week, sharing the cover art on Instagram and explaining that since she’s still wrapping up work on her upcoming third album, she “wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.”

Shortly afterward, “Single Soon” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Trending Songs chart, days before its release. It makes sense that fans are excited; Gomez hasn’t released a solo single since last year’s “My Mind & Me,” which accompanied the Only Murders in the Building star’s documentary of the same name. She hasn’t released an album since 2020’s sophomore effort Rare, though she dropped Spanish-language EP Revelacion in 2021.

The day before “Single Soon” arrives, the season two finale of Max’s SATC reboot And Just Like That… will air, featuring Cattrall’s first cameo in the spinoff. It’ll mark her first time playing Samantha in 13 years, as she’s remained absent from the reboot starring her three main SATC costars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

Taylor Swift Premieres ‘Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)’ in ‘Wilderness’ Trailer: Watch

Taylor Swift may be in full 1989 (Taylor’s Version) mode, but Reputation fans just got a big taste of the 2017 album’s lead single.

The 33-year-old pop star debuted a huge chunk of “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” in Prime Video’s new trailer for Wilderness, a psychological thriller arriving on the streaming platform Sept. 15. Starring The Sandman‘s Jenna Coleman and The Haunting of Hill House‘s Oliver Jackson-Cohen, the project explores a woman’s quest for revenge — ahem, a major theme on Reputation — after discovering her husband is having an affair.

“Liv becomes the actress starring in Will’s bad dreams after she learns about his betrayal, and her heartbreak is swiftly followed by another emotion: fury,” reads a description of the show full of Swiftian references. “The couple embark on an American road trip Liv’s fantasized about since she was little, from the Grand Canyon on through Yosemite, before ending up with a hedonistic weekend in Las Vegas.”

“For Will, it’s a chance to make amends; for Liv, it’s a very different prospect — a landscape where accidents happen all the time,” it continues. “The perfect place to get revenge. Look what he made her do…“

“Look What You Made Me Do” is featured heavily throughout the Wilderness trailer, showcasing Swift’s fresh take on the career-shifting track’s chorus and iconic tagline: “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh! ‘Cause she’s dead!”

This isn’t the first glimpse Swifties have gotten of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s imminent Reputation re-record, which hasn’t even been announced yet. During Swift’s preparations to drop 1989 (Taylor’s Version) this October, which will mark the fourth of her six expected “Versions,” she also shared a piece of “Delicate (Taylor’s Version)” in an episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty season two, also a Prime Video project.

I’m Erika Jayne, and these are five things that you probably don’t know about me.

I am afraid of the dark and I always have been since I was a child, so I sleep with a night-light unless I’m sleeping with a man.

If you open a bottle of water, you have to complete it. And in my house, I give everybody bottled water, but I take note as to who doesn’t finish them and leaves them behind. I keep score like that. I’m just saying.

I’m addicted to Target. I have to go there either first thing in the morning when it opens up, or at the very end of the night when it’s closing. I like to buy cleaning products, and I’m talking bleach, Downy, Tide. I like to wash clothes, specifically white towels, and I can get anything just, like, sparkling white.

I cannot wash with anything other than a white-colored loofah. I can’t have any color. I got one that was white and purple, the peach ones, the green ones weren’t working. I can’t do it. I don’t know what it is. I got something going on with the cleaning thing.

My friends have pointed out that it’s very strange that I sleep with socks on. I don’t think it’s strange at all, and I sleep with socks year round, and I don’t care what anybody says.

In the two-minute clip, the audience is introduced to Saúl Armendáriz (García Bernal) from El Paso, Texas, who dreams of becoming professional luchador after his father first introduced him to the sport. In the process, he transforms into Cassandro, an “exótico” who wrestles in drag.

“Are you a wrestler?” Bad Bunny asks García Bernal in the film’s new trailer. “Yes,” the Mexican actor responds. That’s the first interaction between the two in the teaser. Later in the clip, they are dancing, and there’s a first look at Bad Bunny as one of Cassandro’s love interests. Roberta Colindrez, Perla de la Rosa, Joaquín Cosío and Raúl Castillo round out the biopic’s cast.

It’s not Bad Bunny’s first role on the big screen. Last year, the Puerto Rican superstar starred in Bullet Train opposite Brad Pitt. The world of wrestling is also familiar to the hitmaker. In 2021, Bad Bunny ventured into the wrestling world by jumping off the top rope at the 2021 Royal Rumble. Most recently, the “Me Porto Bonito” singer defeated Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight at WWE’s premium live event Backlash in May.

After making its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January, Cassandro is set to hit theaters Sept. 15, and will premiere on Prime Video Sept. 22.

I have gone through such a rough patch and all I was getting was bad news. So that when actually good news came through the door, I seriously for a hot second was like, “Is this real?”

So what can you tell us about the show?

Erika Jayne:
So the show is based around my six-word mantra, which is how I created Erika Jayne, which was “fantasy, love, escape,” and then I added “glitz, glamour and fun” some years later. So that’s really what the Vegas show is about. We’ll have my old stuff, new stuff and we’ll do a clever cover or two just for nostalgia purposes, and it’s gonna be great. I’m super excited to get back out and perform. I had not performed for three years.

National Cinema Day Is Back! Where to Buy $4 Tickets to ‘Barbie,’ ‘Oppenheimer’ & Other Must-Watch Movies

Movie tickets just got cheaper — at least for a day. If you haven’t seen Barbie, Oppenheimer and more of the year’s biggest films on the big screen, you can watch them for just $4 during National Cinema Day.

The annual event, launched last year by the Cinema Foundation, returns on Sunday (Aug. 27). For one day only, moviegoers will get the opportunity to watch or rewatch movies in theaters for one low ticket price.

National Cinema Day 2023 celebrates “the power of movies to bring us all together,” the organization said in a statement, per USA Today. More than 3,000 theaters will be participating in National Cinema Day, including AMC, Regal and Cinemark.

You don’t have to wait until the weekend to buy your tickets for National Cinema Day. Purchase advance tickets online through Fandango, in addition to AMC Theaters, Cinepolis, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark and other movie theaters.

Most of the websites of the participating theaters put up “National Cinema Day” banners on the homepage, but you might have to enter the information in manually, depending on the website or app.

To get started, select the film of your choosing and set the date to Aug. 27. Changing the date should automatically drop the ticket price to $4. The discount applies to matinee and regular-priced tickets.

Be sure to check with the movie theater or ticket website if you’re not sure how many $4 tickets you can purchase at once. Fandango, for example, allows you to purchase up to nine tickets at a time.

In addition to $4 movie tickets, AMC and other participating theaters will be offering National Cinema Day deals on drinks, popcorn and candy.

With Barbie and Oppenheimer ruling the box office, the one-day ticket haul could add a significant boost to what has already been a historic box-office run for both films, and a ticket spike for some of the other big-budget movies that didn’t perform as well, such as Blue Beetle, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part I.

“Following the rousing success of the first annual National Cinema Day, we welcome everyone to join us for the communal experience of one of America’s favorite past times,” Jackie Brenneman, president of The Cinema Foundation told Deadline.   

Which new movies are debuting this weekend? Some of the new releases include Bottoms, Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story, The Hill, Golda and Retribution. The Little Mermaid will also be returning to theaters as a sing-along film for National Cinema Day.

Other movies currently in theaters: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Meg 2, Elemental, Theater Camp, Strays, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

If you’re unable to make it out to theaters for National Cinema Day, most of the films featured are available to stream on-demand. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, The Little Mermaid, Super Mario Bros., Elemental and more are available to rent on Prime Video (Super Mario Bros. is also streaming for free on Peacock) and other digital platforms. Barbie will arrive on digital platforms in Sept. 5.

Anakin Skywalker before he became the Sith lord Darth Vader trained a Padawan of his own: Ahsoka Tano (played by Rosario Dawson).
