Expect just as much gore, violence, drama and, of course, mystery as a new generation of super-human students claw (and probably even kill) their way to the top rankings of a superhero-only school. Just like the show it takes inspiration from, the series is a Prime Original, which means you’ll need a Prime membership or Prime Video subscription to watch. Amazon is offering a 30-day free trial for new users though — click here to launch it now.

Unlike The Boys, the series will focus on a new cast of characters who attend the prestigious Godolkin University — the sole supes-only school in America. Students must juggle training with getting good grades, all in the hopes one day having the chance to be a part of The Seven alongside Homelander, A-Train and The Deep. It’s only when a group of students discover sinister going on within the school, they’re then faced with whether they want to become the heroes or villains of their own story.

The Masked Singer season 10 kicked off on Wednesday night (Sept. 27) on Fox, and saw a brand new cast of elaborately costumed players performing to see who will emerge as this cycle’s champion. The first unmasking of the season came courtesy of the Rubber Ducky, who took to the stage of the competition show to performing his rendition of Dexys Midnight Runners’ hit “Come on Eileen.”
After the performance, judge Ken Jeong had nothing but praise for the star underneath the mask. “I dare say this is the most fun performance of the night,” he said. “I love everything about this. Amazing job.”

The duck gave a clue that revealed his family is “full of stars,” which prompted Robin Thicke to guess he’s a comedian. “I’m definitely getting a comedian vibe from this guy. I’m thinking famous families, and this guy is known for being in very famous horror movies like Scream … what if this is David Arquette? Famous brother of Patricia Arquette?” he wondered.

Fellow judge Jenny McCarthy, however, had others in mind. “That’s not bad. I could see David doing something like this,” she said. “But … what about Wayans brothers?”

Jeong, who is a comedian outside of the show, put his knowledge to the test and shared his expert opinion on why it couldn’t be one of the Wayans brothers. “They’re, like, two of the most celebrated, legendary stand-up comedians of all time. This person said he did stand-up comedy, he didn’t like it, so right now I’m thinking Anthony Anderson,” he explained. “Anthony Anderson is not known for stand-up, but he is one of the best comedic actors around. That is something that is screaming Anthony Anderson. Great job, Anthony!”

Sure enough, Jeong’s guess was spot on. Anderson was unmasked and joked, “Ken, you finally got something right, baby.” The judge replied, “It’s a season 10 miracle!”

Anderson followed up his elimination with a hilarious exit interview that held a few insights as to why his performance didn’t take flight flight like he intended it to.

“I flew all the way from South Africa to be on the show, and they kicked me off! I’ve always wanted to do The Masked Singer. I got the call, and I was like, ‘Hell yeah!’ My performance … I will admit was slightly off a little bit. I think I was trying to perfect it in rehearsal,” Anderson said. “When it came time to showtime, I didn’t have anything left to give. I over rehearsed. Come on … you’re supposed to breathe through the diaphragm and I have a huge head, but they gave me a small mask. And the mask constricted my mouth from opening to hit the notes I wanted to hit. I mean … yeah, it’s over right now, but … I’ve got your number.”

Fresh off of a cameo in Greta Gerwig’s record-obliterating Barbie movie, Dua Lipa continues to dabble in film with the sexy new trailer for the upcoming spy thriller Argylle. In advance of Britney Spears coming back to the big screen in next month’s re-release of the singer’s movie debut in 2002’s coming-of-age road-trip dramedy Crossroads, a new trailer is getting fans hyped for the special event.
The 30-second trailer for the global fan event on Oct. 23 and 25 opens with Spears’ Lucy enthusiastically singing Madonna’s “Open Your Heart” into a spoon in her teenage bedroom, which just happens to have a poster of Madge’s debut album cover in plain view on the wall.

As Spears bounces around the room lost in music, she suddenly stops and hops under the bed when her dad (Dan Akroyd) yells from the other room. Cut to Lucy hopping in the car with her two estranged high school besties, Mimi (Taryn Manning) and Kit (Zoë  Saldaña) for a cross-country road trip, where they’re joined by Mimi’s handsome friend, Ben (Anson Mount).

“So I’m going all the way to California,” Mimi says, as Spears’ Lucy counsels, “you can’t go by yourself with some guy.” We also see Akroyd berating Lucy for sneaking away in the middle of the night and ordering her to return right away. The clip ends with Spears crooning “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman,” one of the hits from the singer’s 2001 Britney album.

The two-night event from Trafalgar Releasing, Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records will support Spears’ upcoming tell-all memoir, The Woman in Me (Oct. 24). The movie written by Shonda Rhimes (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy) and directed by Tamra Davis (CB4, 13) will include bonus features never before seen in theaters — including a sing-along to two of Spears’ songs from the film.

“I recently rewatched Crossroads and was so enthralled with the time capsule of nostalgia that this incredible ensemble cast brings to the screen,” director Davis said in a statement when the re-release was announced last week. “Britney is absolutely breathtaking to watch, and Shonda is showing us her early expertise in writing complicated female characters.”

There will also be a new merch line featuring shirts, sweats, jackets and pieces inspired by the film’s wardrobe, as well as RCA Records’ Crossroads: Special Edition of the soundtrack, with three new Spears remixes: “Overprotected” (Richi Lopez Remix), “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman” (Snakehips Remix) and “I Love Rock ‘N Roll” (Frank Walker Remix).

Indonesian singer Putri Ariani and acrobat duo the Ramadhani Brothers respectively round out the top 5.

The top ranked singer this year, Putri made a notable impression on the judges, particularly Simon Cowell, who gave the teen his Golden Buzzer. “Nobody can take away the fact that you are an amazing, amazing singer. And performer. And person,” Cowell told Ariani.

The judges also adored Stoica and Hurricane’s double-act, apparently as much as armchair voters.

“I was on my feet then I sat down, then I was on my feet. It just shows you how tough it is,” Howie Mandel enthused earlier in the season, following an act to Smash Mouth’s “I’m a Believer.” “We didn’t know whether to stand, we didn’t know whether to sit. He’s a dog, he gets more cues than we do. That’s my favorite dog Act ever on AGT.”

Sofia Vergara though the dog-and-man show “was perfection” and Heidi Klum remarked, “it is mind blowing to me how you do this routine with him.”

Added Cowell earlier in the season: “I think in terms of stepping up from the audition to the Live Show, this is the best act we’ve seen tonight. This was live, and that was a tricky routine. She was amazing.”

Stoica and his canine buddy collect the $1 million prize and a coveted Las Vegas residency.

The two-hour finale on NBC featured special performances from 30 Seconds to Mars, Jason Derulo, Jon Batiste, Leona Lewis (in a duet with Putri) and Season 17 winners The Mayyas.
