It’s been years since the infectious kids song “Baby Shark” wiggled its way onto everyone’s computer screens in 2016. And since it went viral in 2018, eventually charting in the Billboard Hot 100 top 40 the next year, the absurdly catchy dance-along hit has gained a number of high-profile fans — including Cardi B. So much so, Cardi […]
The women of The View had a lot to say concerning Travis Kelce following the football player’s recent Wall Street Journal interview about Taylor Swift.
On the Tuesday (Nov. 21) episode of the talk show, hosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin took turns calling out “red flags” they found in Kelce’s candid interview, in which he gave details how he and the “Anti-Hero” singer first started dating, and shared he worries about how his relationship with the media might make Swift uncomfortable.
“Some of the things he said raised some red flags for me,” said Hostin. “He said, ‘The biggest thing to me: Make sure I don’t say anything that would push Taylor away.’ What is he hiding? … He’s sending in his representative so he doesn’t offend her in any way — that’s not real life. People offend you sometimes.”
“My red flag is this,” added Griffin, who wondered whether the Chiefs tight end is simply a “palate cleanser” for Swift following her longterm relationship with Joe Alwyn. “My only concern is she got out of a seven-year relationship and really jumped into this. You tend to want to give some time to get over the previous relationship. I root for them, I want to see her happy, I think she’s one of the most talented musicians of my lifetime by far, but it seems like a little bit of a rush.”
Haines, however, suspected that Kelce is using his newfound fame from the relationship as a stepping stone to a post-NFL career. “He is huge in the football world, and then you go to Taylor Swift Land, and I think that if you were thinking about next chapters, this would be lovely,” she theorized. “I think he’s looking for his second act.”
The new View segment comes about a week after the ladies discussed Kelce’s decade-old tweets, many of which recently resurfaced as fans and brands alike started combing through his Twitter account. While many of the Ohio native’s (often misspelled) posts were innocent musings about Taco Bell or feeding bread to squirrels, the View hosts took issue with a few in which Kelce reportedly insulted girls for being “ugly.”
“He’s illiterate,” Behar said at the time, adding that she didn’t want Swift to be “stuck with this idiot.”
Not all of the hosts had negative things to say about Kelce, though. On the Tuesday episode, Griffin pointed out how it can be “hard at that level of celebrity to find people with the right intentions.” “He seems like a very nice guy and I root for them,” she added. “But I do think [Taylor] has to be careful.”

It was a love story dedicated to Taylor Swift on Dancing With the Stars Tuesday (Nov. 21). ABC’s long-running ballroom bash featured a night of cha-chas, tangos, rumbas and more set to the pop superstar’s vast category of hits. Before the competition kicked off, Swift herself sent in a video message to encourage the contestants.
“Hey guys! It’s Taylor! I just wanted to say thank you so much for having this me themed night on Dancing With the Stars!” she began happily. “I so wish I could be there to see what you and your amazing choreographers and my friend Mandy Moore have put together. I wish I could be there, but I’m on tour in Brazil, but I’m sending you guys all my love, and best of luck to all the contestants!”
Moore, who is Swift’s lead choreographer for her ongoing Eras Tour, was the guest judge for the evening, joining regulars Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.
Six remaining pairs competed on Taylor Swift Night. Actress Alyson Hannigan and pro partner Sacha Farber showed off their cha-cha moves to “You Belong With Me” and earned a score of 29 out of 40. Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and pro Pasha Pashkov did a rumba to “Cruel Summer,” and despite battling back pain, she impressed the judges and got a 37. Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach tangoed to “Don’t Blame Me” and redeemed themselves for last week’s lackluster performance, this time snagging a perfect 40. Too Hot to Handle‘s Harry Jowsey rumba’d with Rylee Arnold to “August” for a 30; The Bachelorette’s Charity Lawson tangoed with Artem Chigvintsev to “Look What You Made Me Do” for a 38; and Xochi Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy did a quickstep to “Paper Rings” and earned a 38.
After the competitors delivered a few relay dances for potential extra points, the judges’ scores were combined with fan votes to determine who would be out. The unlucky hoofer this week was Jowsey.
Swift — who is a big fan of the ballroom bash and has previously performed on the show — is currently wrapping up the South American leg of her megahit Eras Tour. She has three remaining shows in Sao Paolo, Brazil, happening Nov. 24-26. After that, she’ll take a quick break before kicking up the international leg of her tour again, starting with concerts in Tokyo in early February.
The 12-time Grammy winner also recently won big at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, earning 10 trophies, including top artist and top female artist. The victories put her in a tie with Drake for the title of winningest artists at the BBMAs, with 39 each. She has also been named Billboard‘s top artist of 2023.
The Voice has reached the Playoffs phase and Huntley is, well, very much in the hunt.
The Fredericksburg, Virginia-native impressed when he stepped onto The Voice last month for the Blind Auditions, showcasing a voice with depth and character, a rare blend that could power its way through country, blues, rock and grunge.
From the opening notes of that audition, when he sang “She Talks To Angels,” Huntley caught a four-chair turn. Niall Horan went on to secure his services.

Heading into Tuesday night’s episode, Huntley had a lot to live up to. Pressure, no pressure.
Huntley put on his game voice, and hit a full-throated rendition of David Kushner’s “Daylight”.
The coaches loved it. “I just can’t believe how amazing you are, every single time,” was Gwen Stefani’s immediate response. “Your actual vocal ability, especially in the lane of music that you do, your style of singing, it is masterful.” If she had a label, she’d sign him up. “You’re so amazing.”
John Legend was also blown away. “What you’re giving us on stage is well beyond a competition,” he enthuses. “You’re already a star. You carry yourself that way with confidence, with that distinctive voice.” The execution, flawless. Huntley could go on to be a Grammy winner someday, he reckons.
The performance was “just insane,” Horan remarks. The rocker’s coach challenged him with the song, something he felt Huntley wouldn’t pick, and the result was “the best you’ve ever sung here.”
“You’re one of the people that’s got something to say to the world, and you’ve got a voice like that, it’ll be one hell of and album, and I’d buy it.” So would Reba McEntire. So would many others.
The Irishman had the challenge of cutting three of his six artists. Ultimately, he selected Huntley, Nini Iris and Mara Justine to progress in the competition.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC and streaming next day on Peacock.

A lot of things happened on Monday (Nov. 20) when President Biden participated in one of the weirdest annual White House fall traditions: the National Thanksgiving Turkey pardoning ceremony. As you’ve probably already read, Biden — who was also celebrating his 81st birthday that day — pardoned the cluckers named “Liberty” and “Bell” and then […]

The album surpasses Lil Dicky’s Professional Rapper to become the longest leading No. 1 comedy album in the chart’s 19-year history.
Inside (The Songs), released June 10, 2021, via Imperial/Republic Records, holds at No. 1 with 3,000 equivalent album units earned in the latest Nov. 10-16 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Here’s an updated look at the longest-reigning comedy albums, dating to the chart’s launch in 2004:
Most Weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Comedy Albums ChartTotal weeks at No. 1, Artist, Title (Year Reached No. 1)
122, Bo Burnham, Inside (The Songs) (2021)
121, Lil Dicky, Professional Rapper (2015)
49, Dane Cook, Retaliation (2005)
34, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Mandatory Fun (2014)
34, The Lonely Island, Turtleneck & Chain (2011)
23, Flight of the Conchords, Flight of the Conchords Soundtrack (2008)
22, The Lonely Island, Incredibad (2009)
22, Dane Cook, Rough Around the Edges: Live From Madison Square Garden (2007)
22, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Straight Outta Lynwood (2006)
20, The Bob’s Burgers Music Album Soundtrack (2017)
(The chart was based on pure album sales from its October 2004 inception through January 2020, when it switched to a consumption-based methodology that ranks titles by equivalent album units, mirroring the formula used for the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.)
Inside (The Songs) debuted at No. 1 on Comedy Albums on the June 19, 2021-dated chart after just one day of tracking. Since the album first debuted, it has led the chart for all but six weeks — four of those were claimed by Bobby “Boris” Pickett & The Crypt-Kickers’ 1962 set The Original Monster Mash album thanks to annual Halloween gains for “Monster Mash.” The other instances were Mouse Rat’s The Awesome Album, the band led by Chris Pratt’s character Andy Dwyer from Parks and Recreation (in which Burnham guest starred in 2014) in November 2021, and Steel Panther’s On the Prowl in March 2023.
The album became Burnham’s fourth No. 1 on the Comedy Albums chart, after his 2009 self-titled LP, 2010’s Words Words Words, and 2014’s What. He also reached No. 3 on the chart in 2008 with his debut EP Bo Fo Sho. The only other artists with four-or-more No. 1s: Larry the Cable Guy (seven), Steel Panther (seven), Jim Gaffigan (six), “Weird Al” Yankovic (five), Nephew Tommy (five), The Lonely Island (five), Dane Cook (four), Doug Stanhope (four), Flight of the Conchords (four) and Patton Oswalt (four).

Inside (The Songs) also peaked at No. 7 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart in 2021. It became Burnham’s first top 10, and the highest charting comedy album since Professional Rapper also reached No. 7 in 2015. The vinyl release of the set also helped the album reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Vinyl Albums chart last year, making it the highest charting comedy album (excluding soundtracks) in the chart’s 12-year history.
Burnham created Inside from his Los Angeles home in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to starring in the special and recording the music, he also directed, wrote, edited and filmed the special himself.
Burnham took home three Primetime Emmy Awards in 2021 for his work on Inside (among six total nominations): outstanding directing for a variety special, outstanding writing for a variety special and outstanding music direction. The song “All Eyes on Me” also took home the 2022 Grammy Award for best song written for visual media, while the Inside (Deluxe Box Set) recently earned a nomination for best boxed or special limited edition package for the upcoming 2024 Grammys.
Inside (The Songs) also finished as Billboard’s No. 1 year-end Comedy Album in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

ABC and Dick Clark Productions have extended their agreement for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest for five years. The show will air on the network through Jan. 1, 2029.

The show was created in 1972 by Dick Clark, who conceived it as a younger-skewing competitor to veteran bandleader Guy Lombardo‘s long-running New Year’s Eve broadcasts on CBS. The special first aired on Dec. 31, 1972. Its first two editions were broadcast by NBC, and hosted by Three Dog Night (which had a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972) and George Carlin, respectively, with Clark anchoring coverage from Times Square.
The show moved to ABC in 1974, and Clark took over as host. In December 2004, Clark suffered a stroke. Due to lingering speech impediments from the stroke, Clark ceded hosting duties to Ryan Seacrest the following year, but he continued to make limited appearances on the show until his death in April 2012 at age 82.
The special has been billed as Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest since 2008. It is remarkable that Clark’s name is still embedded in the name of the show, and will be through at least 2029. That is seen as a sign of Clark’s continued brand-name appeal, more than a decade after his death. It is similar to the way Walt Disney remains a reliable brand name, though he died in 1966.
Since 2000, the special has broadcast segments in prime time in addition to the late-night broadcast, initially occupying the 10 p.m. ET/PT hour. Since 2011, the special has represented the entirety of ABC’s primetime schedule on New Year’s Eve.
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2023 attracted 13.8 million total viewers last year, drawing 17.9 million total viewers and hitting a 5.34 Adult 18-49 rating in the midnight quarter-hour. The show has been the top-rated New Year’s Eve programming special for more than 30 years.
This year’s iteration of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024 is set to air live Sunday, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. on ABC. Details around co-hosts, performers in Times Square and additional locations will be announced soon.
