Tory Lanez, who was sentenced this week to a decade behind bars in connection to the Megan Thee Stallion shooting, still has access to social media somehow. The Canadian rascal is standing five feet tall, excuse us, 10 toes down in stating that he isn’t responsible for the shooting while saying he’s not apologizing.
In a brief Instagram statement, Tory Lanez highlights that the singer and entertainer is intending to remain steadfast in stating that he had nothing to do with the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
“I have never let a hard time intimidate me, I will never, never let no jail time eliminate me,” Lanez began. “This week in court, I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved. That’s it. In no way, shape, or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do.”
Lanez added, “I’ve faced adversity my whole life, and every time it looked like I’d lose, I came out on top. This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall, and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious.”
The post concludes with Tory Lanez thanking his fans for their support and maintaining his proud defiance.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, onlookers have chimed in with their thoughts about the case, including all of the celebrity letters in support of him. Check out those reactions below.

Tory Lanez, like many a tiny man before him, learned the hard way that his arms are too short to box with the law. The sawed-off Canadian varmint was sentenced to 10 years behind bars and folks on X are celebrating the verdict.
Details are still in development but according to a report from the Associated Press, Tory Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, received his sentence on Tuesday (August 8) by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Herriford. Lanez, 31, was initially convicted in December 2022 with three charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence, all felonies.
The sentencing ends a long ordeal that stemmed from a fateful night back in July 2020 when Lanez was attending a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s home in the Hollywood Hills along with Megan Thee Stallion. While leaving the event, the artist born Megan Pete testified that Lanez discharged a firearm towards her feet with bullet fragments damaging her to the point of surgery.
“Since I was viciously shot by the defendant, I have not experienced a single day of peace,” Pete shared in a statement read by a prosecutor on Monday (August 7). “Slowly but surely, I’m healing and coming back, but I will never be the same.”
Lanez denied his involvement in the shooting despite the initial lack of cooperation from Pete and conflicting statements given to law enforcement officials. Lanez also continued to seemingly harass and taunt Pete and his fans launched vicious verbal attacks online against her.
In court, Lanez changed his tune and took responsibility for his actions that evening.
“If I could turn back the series of events that night and change them, I would,” Lanez said to the judge while pleading for mercy. “The victim was my friend. The victim is someone I still care for to this day.”
Lanez’s legal team struck down Pete’s testimony at several angles and argued that there was not enough evidence to charge their client with the listed crimes. The legal team requested probation for Lanez and said that they will file an appeal.
On X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, folks are giving their two cents on the rise and fall of Tory Lanez, which wouldn’t have taken that long anyway. Check out the reactions below.

Megan Thee Stallion related how much suffering she’s endured daily after being shot by Tory Lanez in a written statement read during his sentencing hearing.

On Monday (August 7th), Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta read a statement from the “Cognac Queen” rapper during the sentencing of Lanez in the courtroom. “Since I was viciously shot by the defendant, I have not experienced a single day of peace,” the statement began. “Slowly but surely, I’m healing and coming back, but I will never be the same.”

She asked that her absence from the courtroom not be perceived as a sign of indifference, writing that she struggled with trying to be present for the sentencing but decided that she “simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again.” Megan Thee Stallion did ask Judge David Hereford to deliver a stiff sentence. She also pointed out that Lanez “has blamed the system, blamed the press, and as of late has tried to take advantage of his childhood trauma.”
Lanez, also known as Daystar Peterson, was convicted last year of three felonies – assault with a semiautomatic weapon, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle. All charges stem from the 2020 incident where he shot Megan in her feet after the pair and a friend left a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in Hollywood Hills. Lanez faces up to 13 years in prison based on those charges.
Judge Herriford allowed the legal teams for the prosecution and the defense to argue every factor leading to the potential sentence. In doing so, the proceedings would go on for hours, with Lanez’s lawyers also providing statements and 76 letters including one from his six-year-old son defending the rapper and asking for leniency in light of his charitable work. The delay means that the sentencing hearing will resume on Tuesday (August 8th).
One of those letters was composed by Iggy Azalea, which garnered some controversy leading her to state that the letter was “for the judge only”. She also issued a lengthy post of clarification via Twitter. “I am not in support of throwing away ANYone’s life if we can give reasonable punishments that are rehabilitative instead. I support prison reform. Period,” she wrote.

Megan Thee Stallion talks about her traumatic experience one last time and has much to say.
In an Elle Magazine cover feature, Megan Thee Stallion told the iconic publication she didn’t think she would be the victim of harassment for simply telling the truth.

In her first interview since Tory Lanez was found guilty on all charges of shooting her in 2020, she told Elle, “It never crossed my mind that people wouldn’t believe me.”

“Still, I knew the truth and the indisputable facts would prevail. I had worked way too hard to reach this point in my career to let taunts deter me. When the guilty verdict came on Dec. 23, 2022, it was more than just vindication for me. It was a victory for every woman who has ever been shamed, dismissed, and blamed for a violent crime committed against them,” she continued.
Megan Thee Stallion Had Time For Her Haters
Tina Snow also pointed out how her attacker and rumored boo at the time “laughed and joked about my trauma” and tried “to leverage social media to take away my power.”
The Traumazine crafter was not done. She also called out other Hip-Hop artists, talking heads, and social media for making fun of her situation. Looking at you, 50 Cent, DJ Akademiks, 21 Savage, and Drake.
“I could have let the adversity break me, but I persevered, even as people treated my trauma like a running joke,” she told Elle.
“First, there were conspiracy theories that I was never shot. Then came the false narratives that my former best friend shot me. Even some of my peers in the music industry piled on with memes, jokes, and sneak disses, and completely ignored the fact that I could have lost my life. Instead of condemning any form of violence against a woman, these individuals tried to justify my attacker’s actions,” the Houston rapper continued.
She Will No Longer Be Talking About The Incident After This Interview
Megan Thee Stallion has been front and present since her break from the world immediately following Lanez’s well-deserved guilty verdict. She notes that this interview with Elle will be her final time discussing the trial and the incident.

“I understand the public intrigue, but for the sake of my mental health, I don’t plan to keep reliving the most traumatic experience of my life over and over again. I’m choosing to change the narrative because I’m more than just my trauma.”
We understand.
While she is living her best life and looking good as hell doing so, Tory Lanez is struggling to get a second trial.

Welp.

It looks like Tory Lanez’ chances at freedom are even slimmer now. His request for a new trial has been denied.

As spotted on Madame Noire the Toronto, Canada native recently filed an appeal for a new trial regarding his involvement in shooting his then love interest Megan Thee Stallion. Last week XXL Magazine obtained documents of prosecutors formally denying his request for another go at clearing his name. The paperwork claims that the denial was based on several factors including “overwhelming” evidence, “multiple eyewitnesses” identifying him as the shooter and his “recorded apologies for the shooting”.

The prosecution’s rebuttal was 16 pages and explained “the defendant has failed to demonstrate any error by the trial court in support of its motion for a new trial.” They also state that was never an “instance of error in the trial court” which refers to Tory Lanez’s claim his sixth amendment right to legal counsel had been violated. “The evidence presented at trial was properly admitted, and the defendant’s claims of errors and violations of his constitutional rights are without merit,” the rebuttal continued. “The verdict reached by the jury was based on credible evidence and was supported by the law.”
On December 23, 2022 Tory Lanez, born Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, was convicted on three felony charges including assault with a semiautomatic handgun, having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and gross negligence in discharging his firearm. He faces 22 years behind bars if given the maximum sentence on each charge.

Megan Thee Stallion has been out of the spotlight since taking the stand against the man who shot her, Tory Lanez. But she has continued to rack up victories, big and small, against the people who caused her nothing but grief.
Megan Thee Stallion’s battle with her label 1501 Certified Entertainment is no secret. The Houston artist has taken the imprint owned by former Major League Baseball player Carl Crawford to court on numerous occasions claiming the label wouldn’t let her out of her jacked-up deal and even got a restraining order against them.
Crawford has denied all of MTS’ claims against him and his label, but now he is finally copping to being the pest in the entire situation.
Speaking exclusively with TMZ Hip Hop, Crawford admitted that his beef with Megan Thee Stallion and JAY-Z was dumb and only did it for social media attention.
“Me and Megan, we haven’t talked since 2019,” the 41-year-old told the celebrity gossip site. “We’ve been going through, I guess, what you guys see online, and it’s unfortunate because I never wanted to have a situation where I was, you know, going back and forth with her on the internet.”
“You take this social media part out of it, we don’t have a problem … I’m done with that,” he continued. “You not gon’ hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion name in the media unless I’m doing something like this. You not gon’ see me texting or making a post or doing any of that stuff that would cause social media to go crazy.”

The 1501 Certified Entertainment Owner Sees The Error of His Ways
Crawford is singing a different tune now, but the tension between him and the “Savage” crafter got so bad at one point after hanging out with Tory Lanez in a nightclub in April 2022.
Tory Lanez was recently found guilty on all three charges in the shooting trial of Megan Thee Stallion and is waiting to be sentenced. Crawford called the encounter posted on the label’s Instagram Stories “petty” and another mistake.
“Oh, the thing is with that, I don’t stand with nobody in that situation,” Crawford said. “That’s none of my business. You get caught up in the internet stuff and doing stuff just to — I don’t know if we can just use the word petty, ’cause there’s been a lot of petty stuff going on. […] We all make mistakes. I’m not on nobody’s side with that. I was just… I don’t even know.”

The Hotties Want The Apologies To Megan Thee Stallion To Be Loud
The Hotties, MTS’ loyal fans, have been rolling their eyes following these recent revelations. They have been mainly calling out anyone labeling Megan Thee Stallion a liar following her accusations against the label and Lanez.
You can peep those relations in the gallery below.

Soulja Boy called out the rap community after seeing Megan Thee Stallion receive little to no support in her case against Tory Lanez – but others have called him out over his own alleged history of abuse.

The “Crank That” rapper spoke out about the Grammy Award-winner and how silent many were in relation to Lanez’s treatment of her and the ensuing trial on social media. “Yall ni**as out here shooting bi**hes and ain’t nobody gone say nothing? I’m the only ni**a in the whole rap game that’s gonna say something? Ok, cool,” he said in an Instagram Live session.

He continued his tirade, directly addressing the Brampton, Canada artist. “You want to shoot bi**hes in the feet ni**a? Yous a pu**y ni**a and when you get from jail ni**a you know where I’m at. You got a problem ni**a I’ll beat your bi**h a** ni**a. Don’t never rap over none of my beats, don’t never freestyle over none of my beats. You trash ni**a, your music trash, your career trash, your whole life trash.”
Tory Lanez was found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and carrying a loaded and unregistered weapon last December. The charges stemmed from Megan Thee Stallion being shot after a verbal and physical altercation between her, her former friend Kelsey Harris and Lanez. The “Sorry 4 What” artist is facing a sentence of over 20 years in prison and deportation back to Canada.
While the passion behind Soulja Boy’s words was evident, there were some who questioned his sincerity as well as the timing. One Twitter user asked plainly, “Where was this energy the whole time you was doing features with him last year?”

Another called out the rapper for being hypocritical in the wake of reports of him allegedly abusing his former girlfriend, Nia Riley. The revelation sparked a back-and-forth exchange between Soulja Boy and her father, R&B legend Teddy Riley. The rapper was also accused—by another woman who was a former personal assistant—of allegedly kidnapping her and beating her, leaving her with cracked ribs and a concussion.

Tory Lanez is ditching the legal team representing him during his criminal trial, where he was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Now, he is hoping Suge Knight’s former lawyer can deliver a miracle as talk about appeals begins.

Meghann Cuniff, affectionately dubbed Meghann Thee Reporter following her excellent coverage of the Tory Lanez trial, shared that Lanez expects to be in court on Tuesday, Jan.10, and his attorney will now be David Kenner. If his name sounds familiar, he also represented Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight.

“Kenner is a longtime criminal defense attorney whose clients include former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight,” Cuniff wrote in a tweet. “Anyone with actual experience in criminal law (not all lawyers) will tell you he’s joining the case a bit late: Before trial would have been better.”

When the news was revealed, some quickly believed that Kenner was representing Knight when he was sentenced to 28 years in prison. Cuniff promptly pointed out that he was the former Death Row Record CEO’s lawyer during a robbery case in the 90s where he got probation.

Tory Lanez & His Former Attorney Parted On Good Terms
Per Rolling Stone senior reporter Nancy Dillon, Lanez’s former attorney said he parted ways with the rapper on good terms, noting he doesn’t handle appeals.
“I don’t do appeals,” Mgdesyan said. “So we had to get somebody on board to handle the appeal.” He also noted he plans to attend Lanez’s sentencing set for Jan.27.
“As a party who represented Tory and is friends with Tory, I have an interest,” he notes.

Last month Lanez was found guilty on all three charges, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a concealed and loaded firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.
He was adamant that he did not shoot Megan Thee Stallion despite the evidence working against him, and now he is looking at over 22 years in prison.
We shall see if his move to hire David Kenner will pay off.

Megan Thee Stallion was a victim of violence at the hands of Tory Lanez after the jury listened to testimony from witnesses and went over a plethora of evidence linking him to the crime. Now photos of her injuries have hit the net.

Yes, even after a jury of his peers found him guilty, there were “fans” and some Hip-Hop stars still disputing if Tory Lanez indeed shot Megan Thee Stallion.

Now, photos of the 23-year-old’s Hip-Hop star’s injured feet have surfaced online via Nique at Nite, proving she was indeed shot, showing metal bullet fragments are still in her heel and exactly where the bullets hit her.
The x-ray photos were accompanied by other photographs of the crime scene showing luggage covered in blood, towels, and the gun used in the shooting.

Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend, Kelsey Harris, can also be seen in photos with black and blue bruises along her thigh and missing pieces of her hair following her drunk altercation with Lanez.

Instagram blog The Neighborhood Talk got its hands on police body cam footage of Megan Thee Stallion in the back of an ambulance footage while being taken to a nearby hospital.
The “Big Ole Freak” crafter can be heard crying hysterically, understandably, while looking around the room while wearing a mask.

That’s Not The Only Evidence That Came Out
Nique at Nite shared audio from a phone call between Kelsey Harris and Tory Lanez on Thursday, Dec 29.
Lanez, who was very adamant he was innocent, sounded very concerned about Megan Thee Stallion’s well-being while not explicitly saying what he did, but sounding like he knew he messed up pretty bad.
“I know [Megan] prolly never, ever gonna talk to me ever again, but, I just want you to know, bruh, I was just so f**kin’ drunk that I ain’t even know what the f**k was going on.” He continues, “I ain’t never do some sh*t like that. I didn’t even understand what the f**k was going on. Regardless, though, that’s not gonna make anything right, and it’s not gonna make my actions right. I’m just deeply sorry.”
Welp.
Tory’s daddy, Sonstar, and everyone else can stop blaming Roc Nation or JAY-Z now. *Kanan Stark’s voice,” he did that sh*t, guilty as f*ck.

While he has a history of doing the most, Yung Joc seems to be a man of his word. He has shaved his head after saying he would if Tory Lanez was found guilty.

As spotted on The Shade Room, the Atlanta, Georgia native has scalped. Earlier this month Yung Joc and media executive Shawn Prez discussed the Meg Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez assault trial for VladTV. During the interview the “Coffee Shop” rapper made it clear that, in his mind, a guilty verdict was not possible. “If Tory is found guilty, I’ll shave my head. I’ll shave my whole head bald,” he said. He even confirmed he was “serious” when asked again about the claim.

Well Joc was indeed “serious” and has made good on his pledge. In an Instagram clip he prepared for the haircut, he was offered some food of his choice which he referred to as his “last meal.” As his Morning Takeover radio show co-host Shyneka put in the work with the clippers Joc said “This [is] for Meg Thee Stallion. This [is] for Meg and Roc Nation.” After the reveal he explained why he made the promise saying “Lost a bet. I thought it was going to be a goddamn mistrial,” he explained.
