How to Watch Mufasa: The Lion King Online
Mufasa: The Lion King is streaming for $24.99 to rent and $29.99 to buy digitally on Prime Video, Apple TV and other premium video on-demand marketplaces.
However, rentals are accessible for 30 days after purchase, and for 48 hours once you begin watching the movie.
Directed by Barry Jenkins (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk), Mufasa: The Lion King is a prequel to the 2019 live-action version of The Lion King. It follows an orphaned cub named Mufasa (Aaron Pierre), who gets adopted into the royal family and becomes the brother of Taka (Kelvin Harrison Jr.), a young lion prince who later becomes Scar. The film then follows Mufasa’s journey to becoming the next king of the Pride Lands.
The movie also features a voice cast with Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Tiffany Boone, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, Blue Ivy Carter, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and others.
Meanwhile, the soundtrack for Mufasa: The Lion King also features original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a film score by Dave Metzger.

The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl is a new concert special for the 30th anniversary of the original animated film. Although the live event took place in May 2024, the special is now available to stream online starting on Friday, Feb. 7.

The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl

Directed by Paul Dugdale for Disney+, The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl is a celebration of The Lion King’s 30th anniversary. It features some of the best and brightest actors from the original animated film, as well as singers from the original Broadway cast, performing side-by-side.
The new concert special stars Lebo M, Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Jason Weaver, Ernie Sabella, Billy Eichner, Heather Headley, Bradley Gibson, Jennifer Hudson, with special guests North West and others.
Meanwhile, Sarah Hicks conducts the orchestra for The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl. Hicks has been a conductor and consultant for Disney Concerts since 2019.

“Working on this collaboration was a dream come true,” Rousteing said in a news release. “I was only nine years old when The Lion King was first released, but still today, almost three decades later, I only need to close my eyes to replay that incredible mix of music, images and emotions. The lessons that I absorbed, as I sat, absolutely transfixed by what was happening on the giant screen in front of me, have remained with me for my entire life.”
The collection is inspired by “Africa’s artisanal traditions” and celebrates a “generation of African talents” with designs adapted from South African artists such as Nika Mtwana, Cassius Khumalo, and Cameroonian artist Enfant Precoce. The collection was showcased in a short film shot in different locations in South Africa’s Western Cape province. The film was directed by Femi Oladigbolu, produced by Disney in collaboration with Balmain and shown during The Lion King in Concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on July 5.
