Young Dro went viral earlier this week after a clip of his surfaced online and almost led to a violent and unnecessary altercation with a friend. During his interview alongside T.I. on The Breakfast Club, Young Dro threatened to lay hands on comedian Kelly KDubb for laughing in the background as he shared his sobriety journey.
T.I. and Young Dro were guests on The Breakfast Club in an episode that aired Monday (October 14) and early on in the conservation, Dro shared some details on where he’s been after slowing down his active mixtape run.
With Dro sharing that he suffered a drug overdose, you can hear Kelly KDubb in the back giggling in the background, which caused others in the room to also snicker. Dro gamely tried to continue his story and even shared that his daughter battled drug addiction, which caused KDubb to laugh again but at this point, Dro had enough.
“Ay you finna get slapped, I mean we cool, but I’ll slap the sh*t out of you,” Dro says to KDubb, who didn’t back down and looked to be ready for action. But before things went incredibly left, T.I. showed exemplary leadership skills and got his crew to settle down and the air was cleared.
Later in the chat, Dro apologized to KDubb, The Breakfast Club, and all involved, proving that he truly is a changed man despite very much being from Bankhead as he reminded his friend.  Dro went on to share that he is currently approaching four years of sobriety and seems to be focused on staying on that path.
Despite cooler heads prevailing, some fans online felt that Kelly KDubb’s open disrespect of Young Dro was out of bounds and had some thoughts to share on X. We’ve got those reactions below.

Issa Rae confirmed that she has no interest in working with Amanda Seales in a recent appearance in New York.
It looks as if there will be no future collaborations between Insecure star and writer Issa Rae and former co-star Amanda Seales, based on comments Rae recently made. The Breakfast Club aired comments that were recorded at an event for Viarae, the star’s prosecco brand, which was held in Brooklyn, New York. In the clip, Rae was asked if there was anyone whom she would never work with again. “I mean, anybody who’s on a podcast to talk shit about me,” she responded at the 2:03 mark, adding: “I’ve had great experiences with everybody I’ve worked with though. So for the most part, like, I’m always grateful when people come back.”

The audience immediately went into a frenzy, realizing that Rae was likely referring to Seales, who in her appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast in April said she was done protecting Issa because she felt she wasn’t vested in the best interests of Black women overall. Seales referred to the 2019 incident between her and Rae’s publicist, Vanessa Anderson, when Anderson requested that Seales be removed from an Emmy Awards party Rae was hosting. Seales then recalled that Rae called her directly to express that the ejection was not her doing and arranged a phone call between Anderson and Seales to patch things up.
Seales would go on to state that Rae’s failure to promote her show, Get Your Life (which was under Rae’s HOORAE Media) and Anderson initiating a “smear campaign” against her that Rae didn’t intervene in left tensions on the Insecure set heightened and made her feel unprotected while there.
“They keep saying, you know, that I’m this mean girl on this set, that I harmed these people on this set,” Seales said. “I just want to point out something very basic. How can I be a mean girl on a set that ain’t my set? How? It’s your show. You are my boss. I don’t even have the capacity to be the mean girl here because you can fire me,” she added, continuing: “So there’s no way for me to be a mean girl in this situation. And I know some people that may buck up against, like, the confirmation bias that they’ve created, but it simply is the truth.”

Jill Stein faced off with Angela Rye on The Breakfast Club and had several talking points rebuked, with social media cheering the situation.
Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein appeared on The Breakfast Club on Thursday (September 12) and faced off with journalist Angela Rye who was a guest host on the show. Stein got off to a bad start when Rye asked her why she felt her campaign was “winnable”, noting that Stein wasn’t on the ballot in at least 13 states including three that allow write-in votes and reading off all of her electoral losses dating back to 2002. “We will be on the ballot for 95% of voters. That is more than enough to win an election,” Stein replied.

Rye would then ask about the Green Party’s lack of grassroots organization, prompting her to ask Stein about how many members were in the House of Representatives. “How many total are there? What is it, 600, some number?”, Stein replied. Rye would correct her. Charlamagne Tha God pointed out that Stein and the Green Party appeared to have “a lot more smoke for the Democratic Party”. That led Ware to deliver an attack on Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her critique of the Green Party and on Vice President Kamala Harris for her stance on Israel and Gaza.
“It is the talking point of AOC the other day, taking her marching orders from the DNC, that we are only running for president,” Stein stated. “It is amazing to hear you talk about women of color as parroting talking points instead of us looking at basic math,” Rye said, adding: “The one thing AOC has done that you haven’t, is win some elections.”
Those who managed to catch the episode noted how much Rye countered Stein’s talking points, and applauded her for doing so. Others criticized Rye for appearing to be too combative, with one Ocasio-Cortez noted the exchange in a post on X, formerly Twitter, writing: “This is a person running for President who doesn’t even know how many US Representatives there are. If we want to be real about building alternatives to the status quo, we must build a left that is serious, powerful, and persuasive. This is not that.”

Michael Rubin’s The Breakfast Club interview led to some awkward statements about Black culture, sparking serious backlash on social media. On Wednesday (August 14), Michael Rubin was a guest on The Breakfast Club. The Fanatics CEO appeared on the show to promote his upcoming Fanatics Fest convention in New York City, but left many online upset with some of his statements about Black culture. The hosts asked him about his annual Fourth of July parties in the Hamptons which many elite celebrities such as Jay-Z and Tom Brady attend in all-white attire. The conversation soon moved to a photo of Rubin hugging Lil Baby from behind. The photo led to numerous comments from trolls, upsetting Rubin. “I think that was pathetic. I think it was a joke,” Rubin said. “You know what I hate? Watching a Black person try to take a Black person down. That’s f—ked up. Lil Baby is one of the best human beings in the planet.”

Rubin didn’t stop there, defending Meek Mill from jokes made about an infamous viral video he was in. “When I see the narrative of, a really good friend of mine like Meek, and people are trying to… Again, if he was gay — which there’s not one gay bone in his body — who cares, number one,” he said. “If people wanna be gay, it is 2024. Who the f**k cares? Number two, there’s not a gay bone in his body, so why do people wanna lie about that? Why do people want to change the narrative of a bet he made with me to hurt him?” He’d then express his generalized thoughts about Black culture.“That is the one thing I’ve learned about, you know, look, I’m just being blunt because it’s me,” he began. “It’s the one thing I’ve learned about Black culture that I don’t like is that Black hate on hate.”
Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy stepped in to challenge Rubin, but slightly. “I’m probably going to get killed for saying this because I’m a white rich guy,” Rubin said. Charlamagne Tha God replied, “I’m glad you’re saying it openly. If this is the conversations that are being had amongst [your people], I want to hear this.” Social media users weren’t as diplomatic, blasting Rubin for being a “culture vulture” and the hosts for not being firm enough with their pushback.

Tyla had to waste time out of her busy day to set the record straight one time about her race.
The South African “Water” singer is riding a wave of success with her hit single and self-titled debut album and is still making press rounds.
During a recent stop at The Breakfast Club, which is becoming the one-stop if you need some controversy, the singer curved a question from host Charlamagne Tha God regarding the past fallout about comments about her race.
How Did This All Begin?
The drama stems from Tyla identifying as “coloured,” which is quite normal for non-white, mixed citizens from South Africa, but in the states, regarded as a slur by Black Americans.
Many folks took her using the term as her way to “disassociate” herself from her Blackness while embracing a term that is widely seen as a slur in the United States.
A debate sparked from her using the term, leading to Charlamagne asking for her perspective on the matter. She punted to her team, who told her not to answer in a now-viral clip.

Hours after the fallout from the clip, Tyla took to her X, formerly Twitter account, to address the situation. She stated that she does identify as a Black woman and further clarified her use of the term “coloured.”
Per The Vibe:
“Never denied my Blackness, idk where that came from,” she began. “I’m mixed with black/Zulu, irish, Mauritian/Indian and Coloured. in Southa I would be classified as a Coloured woman and other places I would be classified as a black woman. Race is classified differently in different parts of the world.”
The “Jump” artist went on, “I don’t expect to be identified as Coloured outside of Southa by anyone not comfortable doing so because i under stand the weight of that word outside of SA, but to close this conversation, I’m both Coloured in South Africa and a black woman. As a woman for the culture. It’s and not or…with that said ASAMBEEE.” Check out the post below.
The Reactions To Tyla Using “Coloured” Are Still Coming In
Tyla’s initial lack of response to Charlamagne’s question and follow-up statement has not quelled the diaspora war on social media.
Many are defending the 22-year-old musician, while others are using the moment to make jokes about her.
“She essentially is saying refer to her as coloured AND a black woman depending on context, environment, & comfortability…which is what some people have been saying from the get… and some of y’all are still choosing to argue and make this a diaspora war,” one user on X wrote.
Another user joked using The Wayan’s Brother’s iconic opening theme song.

We will log this latest moment in the classic social media nonsense folder.

Jerrod Carmichael recently expressed his regret over criticizing Dave Chappelle publicly in an interview on The Breakfast Club.
Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is walking back his public criticism of Dave Chappelle over his recent comedy specials and his focus on trans people, based on remarks he made during his appearance on The Breakfast Club. “I deeply regret saying anything about Dave Chappelle to the press. I want to say that I’m sorry for that,” Carmichael said during the episode which aired Tuesday (April 16).

[embedded content]
Carmichael took time to express that he’s a fan of Chappelle, calling him a “bright light in a dying industry,” and claiming that he’s “more important than ever before” because of today’s crop of comedians “just posting clips of them doing crowd work online and calling it art, and it’s not art.” He also elaborated on his critique: “The criticism I had was that of a fan, someone who respects him so much, that I want him to focus his genius on a wide range of topics. It started really being focused on one thing. I’m a big fan of Jay-Z. If Jay-Z made three albums about trans people, I’d be like, ‘What’s going on with Jay-Z?’”

The comedian, who is on a press tour for his HBO documentary series, Jarrod Carmichael Reality Show, had raised eyebrows with his comments on Chappelle in a GQ interview in 2022. “Chappelle, do you know what comes up when you Google your name, bro? That’s the legacy? Your legacy is a bunch of opinions on trans shit? It’s an odd hill to die on.” He also spoke further about Chappelle’s thoughts in an Esquire interview last month: “He took it as ‘F–k Dave Chappelle,’ because he’s an egomaniac,” Carmichael said. “He wanted me to apologize to him publicly or some s–t.”
When asked if he and Chappelle had spoken since his earlier comments, Carmichael said simply: “Yeah, I know Dave. And I’ll tell you, honestly, from now on, any thoughts I have for Dave will be directed in a phone call to Dave. I’ll never do it again. I do apologize for that… I don’t need it, I don’t want the attention, it’s gone on too long.”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams was left flustered when confronted on a radio broadcast about reviving harmful racial profiling policies by the NYPD.
On Thursday (March 28), New York City Mayor Eric Adams appeared on The Breakfast Club for a conversation with hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy. It soon got tense due to lawyer and political commentator Olayemi Olurin challenging Adams on his administration’s stances concerning the New York Police Department and public safety, which left him at times visibly flustered.

[embedded content]

As Adams had finished a point about the public perception of crime and safety in the city’s subway system, Olurin questioned him on his rhetoric about in press conferences. “You’ve continued to fearmonger about crime in the subways, you’ve added 2,000 police officers in the subways despite the fact that you’ve acknowledged that the subways are not that dangerous,” she said. Adams replied, “I’m lost. Can you give me the quotes where I’ve done that?”
The exchange soon got testy as Olurin quoted statistics from a federal monitor regarding the revival of policies utilizing racial profiling of Black and Brown citizens as Adams seemed to scoff with a laugh. “They said that you brought back units doing stop and frisk worse than what we’ve seen in the Bloomberg era.” Adams countered by asking her to show data, to which Olurin replied, “I know it’s been available to you because your spokesperson commented on it.” She then went on to recount how in their analysis, they found that 97% of all stops and searches in ten neighborhoods have been on Black and Latino New Yorkers.

Adams was clearly frustrated, at times directing his conversation towards Charlemagne and DJ Envy instead of Olurin halfway through the interview, saying she was providing “misinformation.” One key moment came as Adams attempted to deflect by bringing up NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller who was shot and killed in Far Rockaway earlier this week, claiming that Olurin was “dismissive” of his life. “Mayor Adams, that’s not going to work on me,” she replied. He then challenged her on if she has ever visited the family of a slain officer, to which she countered: “And the family of the 19-year-old who was killed by cops that he called for help yesterday in Queens, have you visited them?” He offered no response.

The entire interview between Mayor Eric Adams and Olayemi Olurin is available to watch above.

Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley stopped by The Breakfast Club to continue her ridiculous narrative that America is not a racist country, and the morning show hosts, DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God, proved they are still inept at handling interviews with people like her.
For whatever reason, Nikki Haley was invited to The Breakfast Club to speak about her soon-to-be-dead campaign to be the GOP’s candidate for President of The United States.
Nikki Haley, who is still far behind the twice-impeached former president Donald Trump, has been in hot water due to ridiculous statements regarding America and its well-known ties to slavery and racism.
During her interview with The Breakfast Club, Haley confirmed that she is still very much delusional when it comes to this country’s past and current problems regarding race.
Haley ridiculously claimed with some minimal pushback that the racial decision, clearly exacerbated by her former boss, Donald Trump, began under former President Barack Obama’s eight years in the White House.
Haley was asked why she is so against Vice President Kamala Harris being president of the United States. One of Haley’s talking points during her campaign stops is a vote for Trump brings us one step closer to Harris becoming POTUS.
Per NewsOne:
“With Obama, if you go back. That’s when we really started to feel the division,” Haley said to The Breakfast Club hosts. “Everything was exaggerated with the Obama administration. It became more about gender, it became more about race, it became more about separating Americans instead of bringing them together,” Haley continued, claiming Obama made Americans “feel boxed in.”

It’s Everybody’s Fault, Not Just White Folks, According To Nikki Haley
She wasn’t done. Charlamagne correctly pointed to “white supremacy” as the main reason for the racial division during the Obama presidency; Haley, as expected, found a way to say everyone is to blame.
“Everybody is at fault. I’m not saying one person did this, but I’m saying under that administration, it really did cause some… You just felt — people felt like they were being put in camps through that administration,” Haley said.
Really?
The interview was a hot ass mess, where Haley did her best to separate herself from Donald Trump while trying to woo his cult-like MAGA supporters.
The Breakfast Club’s DJ Envy and *insert sarcasm* political maverick Charlamagne Tha God are also facing criticism for their lack of interviewing skills when it comes to talking to people in politics.

Welp, it’s finally official: comedian Jess Hilarious will be the permanent new co-host at The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy. After spending much of 2023 rotating different co-hosts, including Jess Hilarious, to replace Angela Yee, who left the show in December 2022, it was announced Monday that Hilarious is finally on the show for good.

“I’m very excited to have Jess Hilarious join The Breakfast Club. She is a force in her own right, an actress, comedian, podcaster, and now, the co-host of The Breakfast Club,” Thea Mitchem, iHeartMedia executive vice president of programming, said in a published statement. “Jess was the standout choice to join Charlamagne and DJ Envy to build upon The Breakfast Club’s legacy of entertaining, informing and enlightening the community.”
Hilarious, born Jessica Robin Moore, also expressed gratitude for making the cut as permanent co-host.

“I’m looking forward to joining forces with one of the largest media platforms,” she said. “I’m confident that taking the third seat at The Breakfast Club will show people that Jess Hilarious is not just comedy, but culture.”
Things were looking pretty touch and go regarding Hilarious’ future on the popular radio show. The Wild ‘N Out star had already told her followers that she had been selected as The Breakfast Club’s permanent host last month, but Charlamagne disputed the claim telling TMZ that he was “not happy” with the fact that he was still in the dark regarding who the new host would be and that he’s “done with the rotating of the guest hosts,” which implied that Hilarious still hadn’t gotten the greenlight.
Chances of Jess joining the show seemed even slimmer last week when she went in on Charlamagne and Envy calling them “trash” for suggesting that R&B songstress SZA is this generation’s Mary J. Blige.
But all’s well that ends well, and now Jess Hilarious is officially a card-carrying member of The Breakfast Club. Congrats, Jess, and good luck.

The Breakfast Club officially announced comedian Jess Hilarious as the newest co-host of the popular syndicated radio show on Monday (Jan. 29). Hilarious will be joining current stars, Radio Hall of Famers Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy as the third piece to their daily morning program.
