Orville Peck:
What’s up?
Tetris Kelly
What’s up? Good to see you man!
Good to see you, too! Thank you very much.
You’re doing it real big for some coffee today.
Oh yeah, just a little something, you know what I mean? You look great, too! I like the ostrich.
Listen, Beachwood Cafe, only for them. First of all, Orville, thanks for hanging out with us, because I feel like you’re busy as sh*t.
I’m the busiest man in the world right now.
You have so much going on.
No, but it’s nice. It’s good to, like, take a moment and hang so I’m happy to be here.
Well, listen, and I feel like I kind of doxed you a bit, maybe? You know, I’m putting your business out where you like to hang out.
I know, it’s true.
Beachwood Cafe, what is it about this place?
I mean, it’s, like, near to where I live, and I just like the vibe. They let me bring my dog in here. So, you know, she sits around and, like, you know, me and my partner come here for, like, dinner and things, so…
Lovely! It’s a little date night spot too.
It’s very nice. It’s very convenient. You know, Beachwood is, like, a really cool part of LA where it has this little community in the hills. So it’s, like, it’s kind of nice, yeah.
And then, I mean, did you know? Because I feel like, you know, Harry Styles as well, like, they have his lyrics on a cup. So, like, I’ve never been here, so I didn’t realize, I guess how legendary this place is.

5 Seconds of Summer pulls up to Barney’s Beanery in L.A. to talk about the group’s new album, Everyone’s a Star!, over drinks, food and a game of pool. The members share why they made a complete 180 with the new album, what their recording sessions looked like, how they’re tackling the stigma of being a boy band, their Billboard chart history, who they would include in a super boy band, their touring experiences and more!
5 Seconds of Summer: Like the apple baby. That’s going to be a tight squeeze.
Tetris Kelly: 5 Seconds of Summer, what!
5 Seconds of Summer: Tetris looks very confused. I like this. Sup, Billboard.
Ashton: Nice. Welcome to Barney’s Beanery.
Yo, fellas, this is sick.
Ashton: We’re here, man.
Yeah, come on in, guys, let’s get some food. I mean, not every day you get to kick it at Barney’s Beanery with 5SOS. Wait, do y’all hate when people do that? 5SOS? Do you care?
Michael: That’s what it’s meant to be.
I’m just saying.
Michael: 5 SOS is wrong.
Does anybody ever walk up to you and say, “Hey, 5 SOS.”
Calum: Instantly shunned.
They’re not allowed at the table.
Michael: They wouldn’t be invited to lunch at Barney’s Beanery.
Luke: No, 100%.
And like, what’s the story behind Barney’s Beanery? Like, you guys come here often? Like, why did we pick here to hang out today?
Ashton: Oh, because Outback Steakhouse said no. I thought you guys already knew that.
Luke: Which is some bulls–t, honestly because you know what? Outback Steakhouse started by a Floridian guy.
Calum: Yes, he’s not even Australian.
Luke: And we go, “Oh, we’re the biggest band from Australia.”
Ashton: And he has the hide to say, “No thanks.”
Luke: He says, “No.” You dropped- I don’t know which camera to go to. I’m gonna go to all of them. Applebees saying no? Fumbled the bag. Chili’s saying no like that’s fair, but Outback, like, come on. I thought, I thought we were cool.
Ashton: At the end of the day, we have to thank the Beanery. Thank you for having us. It’s our sweet sanctuary. You were our fourth choice.

Rappers D Smoke and Jay Taj enjoy a meal at Two Hommés in Inglewood, Calif., over laughs and deep discussion. The two friends chat about their upcoming tour, competing on Netflix’s Rhythm & Flow, and their SoCal roots that tie the music they make back to the communities they grew up in.
Jay Taj: I take it this is us right here?
D Smoke: This is us. One of the finest dining experiences of Inglewood.
Jay Taj: I guess I’m about to find out.
D Smoke: Two Hommés.
Jay Taj: All right, D Smoke.
D Smoke: Yes, sir.
Jay Taj: Two Hommés, Inglewood. Why’d you choose this spot?
D Smoke: I have a history with both of these brothers that started it. Mando used to pull up to Bass & Treble when I did my event on Manchester, had my storefront, had Woodworks Records. I just kept hearing about the restaurant through other people, like it’s in Inglewood. It’s great. Check it out. Check it out. So I pull up and it turns out that it’s my homies who supported, you know, before I had my big moment and all that. So just to see anything happening positively in Inglewood on this level. I gotta support it, you know.
Jay Taj: And your face is on the side of the building.
D Smoke:
That, too. I noticed that, too, I got a mural on the building. It only makes sense. There’s rumors spreading that I’m a owner, so it ain’t nothing in it for me, I want this to thrive. I want more of this happening in Inglewood.
Jay Taj: Yeah, you know what? In the hood, everybody is the owner. Real s–t like it’s our responsibility to take care of these spaces. We’re all partners in this.
D Smoke: What’s up, brother? How you doing? Good to see you again.
Jay Taj: Yeah, how are you doing, brother. Thanks for having us. This about to be a big order. OK I’m gonna take the plantain crab, some of that grilled broccolini. Gotta put some color on the plate, and then the Lamb Dibi tacos. And you know what? I’ll take some chicken bites, too.
D Smoke: There you go.
Jay Taj: Tour prep, right?

Halle Bailey takes Tetris out for a vegan lunch at H.O.P.E. Healthy Organic Positive Eating! While nibbling, they chat about the highs and lows of her first solo album, ‘Love? Or Something Like It,’ new collaborations with her girls, the legacy of ‘The Little Mermaid’ and growing up in the industry.
Halle Bailey:
Hi! Welcome!
Tetris Kelly:
Thanks for hanging out with me today.
Of course, thanks for having me here.
It’s like, what they know about you, we’re about to find out, okay? All right, Ms. Bailey, tell me about H.O.P.E. What is your connection to this restaurant?
Oh my goodness, okay. So, I was vegan when I first moved out to California about, oh my gosh, like, 14 years ago now. Geez, it’s been a long time since I’ve been here!
You’re a local now!
I was vegan for 13 years, but now I’m not anymore. When I got pregnant, I wanted to eat meat. But this place? I still go to this place. I swear by it—it’s so good. So, the fact that we’re here today is really freaking awesome, so thanks.
I love that. And then you said that when you got pregnant, you wanted meat. What was the first thing you needed so badly?
I needed… Oh, why are we saying this in this restaurant?
Oh, sorry.
It was Chick-fil-A nuggets.
You’re right, you’re right. Okay, I just needed to know—for my own research. I needed to know what the item was. Hey, how’s it going?
Waitress:
Hi! Great!
Okay, so can we please start with your spring rolls, then your green curry dumplings, and your Muay Thai wings, because I want him to try it just to see.
Waitress:
Of course.
