Rema Releases ‘Baby (Is It a Crime)’ Single: Stream It Now

Rema released his Sade-sampling single “Baby (Is It a Crime)” on Friday (Feb. 7).

He first teased the single back in November with a 1-minute, 21-second clip of him smoking while nonchalantly vibing to the track. “Baby/ Baby sunmoni/ You know say you match my steeze/ You know I’m a G/ Shawty I’mma always keep it real/ I no dey for too much whining/ Dey for too much whining,” the Nigerian hitmaker sings.

Sade’s 1985 smooth jazz classic “Is It a Crime” is the first track on the band’s sophomore album Promise. It reached No. 32 on Adult Contemporary and No. 55 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Rema was spotted carrying the Promise vinyl out of Amoeba Records in Hollywood, California earlier this week.

Rema (real name Divine Ikubor) released his sophomore album, Heis, in July via Mavin Global, Jonzing World and Interscope Records. The 11-track set featured previously released singles “Benin Boys” featuring Shallipopi, “HEHEHE” and another collaboration with Odumodublvck (“War Machine”). It reached No. 7 on Billboard‘s World Albums chart and earned him his first Grammy nomination for best global music album.

“It’s a great honor. Seeing the Grammys show me this love, show me this respect, it shows that I’m doing something that is impacting way beyond my space, way beyond how I imagine it in a global scale. Being able to represent Afrobeats here, it’s amazing,” he told Billboard on the 2025 Grammys red carpet.

The Weeknd Ends His Final Trilogy With ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ Album: Stream It Now

It’s truly the end of an era. The superstar known as Abel Tesfaye has closed the final chapter of being The Weeknd with his latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow, which dropped Friday (Jan. 31) via XO and Republic Records.

The album was originally scheduled to arrive last Friday, Jan. 24, but he pushed it back due to the wildfire crisis in LA and has since donated $1 million to relief efforts. He also canceled his one-night-only album release stadium show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena that was slated for Jan. 25.

Hurry Up Tomorrow serves as the third and final installment of his latest trilogy, following 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM. The LP was preceded by three singles: “Dancing in the Flames,” “Timeless” with Playboi Carti and “São Paulo” featuring Anitta. “Timeless” reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October.

The Canadian-Ethiopian artist will also be making his feature film debut in the accompanying psychological thriller film Hurry Up Tomorrow, directed by Trey Edward Shults and also starring Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The Weeknd and his frequent collaborator Daniel Lopatin (also known as Oneohtrix Point Never) will score the movie, which Lionsgate will distribute in theaters worldwide on May 16.

It’s a poetic end to The Weeknd’s career, 14 years after it began: In 2011, he dropped three mixtapes — House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence — that were eventually remastered and repackaged into his Trilogy compilation album, which his XO label and Republic Records released the following year.

Lady Gaga and Rosé Star in Bruno Mars and Sexyy Red’s ‘Fat, Juicy and Wet’

As fate would have it, Bruno Mars and Sexyy Red came together for their “Fat, Juicy and Wet” strip club anthem, which dropped Friday (Jan. 24) accompanied by a star-studded music video featuring Lady Gaga and Rosé.

Bruno’s big collab with Sexyy Red arrives on the heels of his three-week Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 “Die With a Smile” alongside Lady Gaga. “I’m headed to the studio right now to make a strip club anthem so I can celebrate and properly act up this weekend. Someone please help me get in touch with Sexyy Red!!” he wrote on Instagram earlier this week while cherishing his chart victory. The 15-time Grammy winner eventually “found her,” Bruno posted along with a snippet of their single.

“Fat, Juicy and Wet” is Bruno’s third single, following “Die With a Smile” and “APT.” with Rosé. The latter collab reached No. 5 on the Hot 100 and has spent 12 weeks atop the Billboard Global Excl. US chart.

Meanwhile, Sexyy, one of hip-hop’s breakout stars, continues her winning streak with this high-profile collaboration. She’s experienced critical success with her two latest collabs, “Whatchu Know About Me” with GloRilla from her debut album Glorious and “Sticky” with Tyler, the Creator, GloRilla and Lil Wayne. “Whatchu Know About Me” hit No. 1 on Rhythmic Airplay (three weeks), R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Rap Airplay (five weeks) and TikTok Billboard Top 50, while “Sticky” earned Sexyy her first top 10 on the Hot 100 and spent two weeks atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

In 2024, she tied Drake as the only artist with four No. 1 hits on Apple Music in the same year and racked up accolades, including “Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist” at the BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Meanwhile, Grupo Frontera continued to solidify their Tex-Mex swagger with their second album Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada, which peaked at No. 198 on the Billboard 200 and No. 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart. GloRilla Recruits Kehlani to Ring in the Holidays with ‘Xmas Time’ Collab: Stream It Now

GloRilla and Kehlani are getting everyone in the spirit for “Xmas Time” with their new collaboration that dropped on Friday (Dec. 13).

“Good luck with yo Mrs dis as merry as I’m getting,” the rapper wrote on Instagram earlier this week while announcing the single with a video of both artists’ animated bobble heads in a festive and fitting snow globe, which marks the first time both artists have been on a song together. “NOT ME IM A P! GOOD LUCK W YO MRS!” the R&B singer responded in the comments.

The two linked up for another video together, this time featuring a mashup of Mariah Carey’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 smash “All I Want for Christmas is You” and GloRilla’s “Whatchu Kno About Me,” featuring Sexyy Red.

“Xmas Time” arrives two months after GloRilla’s debut album Glorious, which she released CMG and Interscope. The 15-track project featured collaborations with Latto (“Procedure”); Sexyy Red (“Whatchu Kno About Me”); Muni Long (“Don’t Deserve”); Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard and Chandler Moore (“Rain Down On Me”), Megan Thee Stallion (“How I Look”), BossMan Dlow (“Step”), T-Pain (“I Luv Her”) and Fridayy (“Queen of Memphis”). It reached No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

Both Glo and Keh both scored nominations ahead of the 2025 Grammy Awards; the former is nominated for best rap song and best rap performance with “Yeah Glo!” while the latter is up for best progressive R&B album (Crash), best R&B song (“After Hours”) and best melodic rap performance (“KEHLANI” by Jordan Adetunji).

Smino Unveils His ‘Maybe in Nirvana’ Album: Stream It Now

Smino released his fourth studio album Maybe in Nirvana on Friday (Dec. 6) via his independent label Zero Fatigue.

“I actually just said ‘maybe in nirvana’ in one of the songs — but honestly, it was an album I was being indecisive about putting out. And I was just like … when I’m in a place where I’m at peace with my mind, you know, I’d be able to put this album out,” he told Billboard in a recent interview, adding that he made the album in 2020, two years before he put out his last studio album Luv 4 Rent. “I was just being very honest and very blatant about my emotions. It was like single-era Smee, you know? So, I was having my little roster, talking about, you know, just being — basically, I was just wilding. The music still sounds grown though… a kid in a grown man body, that’s what it sounds like.”

The rapper also revealed that the intro of the 11-track project, “Dear Fren,” is his favorite because it’s “the most personal one. I wrote a letter to my grandma and to my little cousin, who both aren’t here anymore. They passed away,” Smino said. “But I think everybody’s favorite song is ‘Tequan.’ Because it’s tequila and wine, and that’s ‘Tequan.’”

Maybe in Nirvana arrives two years after Luv 4 Rent, which included collaborations with J. Cole (“90 Proof”), Doechii and Fatman Scoop (“Pro Freak”), Cruza (“Louphoria”), Kal Banx (“Matinee”), Lucky Daye and Phoelix (“Modennaminute”), Cory Henry and Ravyn Lenae (“Settle Down”), Lil Uzi Vert (“Pudgy”) and reggie (“Lee & Lovie”). The 15-song set reached No. 28 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 50 on the Billboard 200.

Wizkid Releases ‘Morayo’ Album: Stream It Now

Wizkid has released his sixth studio album Morayo on Friday (Nov. 22) via Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records.

Morayo, which translates to “I see joy” in Yoruba, is dedicated to his later mother Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. “Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here!” Wiz tweeted back in July.

The 16-track project includes previously released singles “Piece of My Heart,” featuring Brent Faiyaz, and “Kese (Dance)” and other collaborations with Asake (“Bad Girl”), Tiakola (“Apres Minuit”), Jazmine Sullivan (“Bad For You”) and Anaïs (“Slow”). See the full tracklist below:

Jelly Roll joined the group for an alternate version of “Hurt,” OneRepublic’s lead single from their July project Artificial Paradise. The song and video for the new version of “Hurt” are out now.

OneRepublic teased the collab in a TikTok video with Jelly Roll on Nov. 21, with a caption for the video noting, “We’ve been waiting for this one.” The clip shows OneRepublic lead singer Ryan Tedder sitting in a car, singing “Hurt,” before the camera pans to Jelly Roll in the seat beside Tedder, with Jelly Roll then picking up the song’s next verse.

Artificial Paradise marks OneRepublic’s sixth studio album. They’ve previously released a handful of singles from the project, including “Sunshine,” “Runaway,” David Guetta collab “I Don’t Wanna Wait,” as well as “Nobody,” and “Fire” (featuring Meduza and Leony). To date, OneRepublic has earned four top 10 hits on the all-genre Billboard 100, including 2022’s “I Ain’t Worried,” 2014’s “Counting Stars,” 2011’s “The Good Life,” and their feature on Timbaland’s 2007 hit “Apologize.”

Jelly Roll recently earned his first Billboard 200 album debut with his project Beautifully Broken, which features the hit songs “Liar” and “I Am Not Okay.” He’s earned six No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and is currently on his headlining The Beautifully Broken Tour, which visits Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 26.

Both OneRepublic and Jelly Roll were both previously on the lineup for the 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, which made stops at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Washington, D.C’s Capital One Arena and Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, among other venues.

“Texas,” written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr and Lalo Guzman, is a song Shelton said he instantly connected with.

“The thing that struck me about ‘Texas’ immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself,” Shelton shared in a statement. “I think there’s something really special about this record and it feels important to me.” 
 
To date, Shelton has earned 29 No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hits, most recently with his Post Malone collaboration “Pour Me a Drink.” “Texas” marks Shelton’s first solo radio release since his own song “No Body” reached the Country Airplay chart’s top 20 in 2022. (He earned a top 40 Country Airplay hit with his Gwen Stefani collaboration “Purple Irises” earlier this year.)

Shaboozey Broadcasts the ‘Good News’ With New Single: Stream It Now

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” may still be riding high atop the Billboard Hot 100, but Shaboozey has more “Good News” to share.

On Friday (Nov. 15), the country breakout star dropped “Good News,” his first new single since the release of his Billboard chart-topping Where I’ve Been Isn’t Where I’m Going LP. Once again joining forces with long-time collaborators Nevin Sastry and Sean Cook, Shaboozey uses his next single to explore how good news can turn around even the darkest of sorrows. “I need some good news/ Sittin’ here, sippin’ on cold truth/ Nobody knows what I’m goin’ through/ Bet the devil wouldn’t walk in my shoes,” he croons over gentle acoustic guitar, plaintive fiddle and a healthy dose of pedal steel guitar.

2024 has been a life-changing year for Shaboozey, who hails from just outside Woodbridge, Va. At the top of the year, he featured on a pair of songs on Beyoncé‘s Billboard 200-topping Cowboy Carter album: “Sweet * Honey * Buckiin’” (No. 61) and “Spaghettii” (No. 31, with Linda Martell), which earned a 2025 Grammy nomination for best melodic rap performance. In addition to that nod, Shaboozey picked up four other nominations. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is up for song of the year, best country song and best country solo performance, while Shaboozey himself reaped a bid for best new artist.

“Tipsy” was one of several singles from Where I’ve Been, which reached No. 1 on Folk Albums and Independent Albums. On the Billboard 200, the record peaked at No. 5.

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has spent a whopping 17 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, making it the longest-running solo No. 1 on the ranking. Only one song stands between Shaboozey and the all-time record: Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road,” which spent 19 consecutive weeks atop the chart.
