Cam’ron might have the hottest sports take of summer. He revealed why Draymond Green and Jordan Poole got into a fight.

As spotted on HipHopDX the Harlem, New York native discussed Jordan Poole’s recent trade from the Golden State Warriors to the Washington Wizards on the It Is What It Is show. The conversation quickly transitioned to Poole and Green’s infamous fight during a practice back in October. The “Get ‘Em Girls” rapper then went on to give a play by play of what led to the drama. “They said the first day he told Draymond Green — you know, Michigan and Michigan State have beef; Draymond Green’s from Michigan State, he’s from Michigan” he explained. “That’s already a lifetime rivalry right there,” Ma$e added.

“He told Draymond, ‘I f***ed more b****es in Michigan State than you when you went there,’” Cam said. “Then they was running sprints or something and he told Draymond, ‘Don’t worry about it, you’ll be in Sacramento next year.’ Killa alleges that things got really bad when Poole took a very personal shot at Draymond saying “‘Why is your Twitter handle @MoneyGreen when you broke and you not gonna get a new contract?’ And that’s the one that broke the camel’s back.” Naturally this clip quickly went viral and even was mentioned on FOX Sports’ First Things First. “It seems from the reporting of Cam’ron and Ma$e, it seems like the Jordan Poole-Draymond stuff in practice got very heated pre-punch,” Nick Wright said which was followed by a hearty laugh from Chris Broussard.
Neither Jordan Poole or Draymond Green have yet to comment on the matter. You can see Cam’ron and MA$E discuss the situation below.

From an NCAA women’s national championship, to a Cardi B lyrical shout-out and Latto music video cameo, and now a 2023 ESPY Award nomination — LSU’s Angel Reese is having an unstoppable year.
Reese is among the newly announced 2023 nominees for ESPN’s ESPY Awards, nabbing a best breakthrough athlete nod for her starmaking turn leading the Louisiana State University women’s basketball team to the college title this past spring. And the championship was just the beginning: Reese recently made a cameo in Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor Again” music video, in which featured act Cardi B raps, “I been ballin’ so damn hard could’ve went to LSU.”

Reese will once again face off against Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark, her NCAA finals foe, in the best breakthrough athlete category, as well as the San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy and the Seattle Mariners’ Julio Rodríguez. (In addition to the individual nom, Reese’s Louisiana State Tigers are also up for best team at the awards show.)

In the top two fields, Nikola Jokić of reigning NBA champs the Denver Nuggets will compete against New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Argentinean soccer superstar Lionel Messi for the best athlete, men’s sports prize; while the best athlete, women’s sports category is between Olympic skier Mikaela Shiffrin, Portland Thorns soccer star Sophia Smith, Polish tennis champ Iga Świątek, and Las Vegas Aces WNBA player A’ja Wilson.

The 2023 ESPYs will broadcast live on Wednesday, July 12, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC from Los Angeles. Recipients of the ESPYs’ three pillar awards — the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance, and the Pat Tillman Award for Service — will be announced next week.

Ja Morant has been suspended 25 games by the NBA thanks to his love of waving firearms on social media. The vibe on Twitter is that the high-flying point guard got off light.

ESPN reports that on Friday (June 16), the NBA announced that the Memphis Grizzlies point guard had been suspended 25 games for “conduct detrimental to the league” at the start of the 2023-2024 NBA season. The formal suspension comes after a second incident in which Morant was seen brandishing a gun on social media, this time in May.

Back in March, the NBA suspended Morant for 8 games for a similar incident where he showed off a firearm on Instagram Live while in a club in Denver. In response to that situation, Morant reportedly enrolled in counseling.
After the second incident, NBA Twitter fully expected NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to drop the hammer on Morant, with many speculating at least a half a season on ice for the talented player. Now it’s a question of Morant staying on the straight and narrow after his second strike.
“Ja Morant’s decision to once again wield a firearm on social media is alarming and disconcerting given his similar conduct in March for which he was already suspended eight games,” said NBA commissioner Adam Silver n a statement. “The potential for other young people to emulate Ja’s conduct is particularly concerning. Under these circumstances, we believe a suspension of 25 games is appropriate and makes clear that engaging in reckless and irresponsible behavior with guns will not be tolerated.”
Silver added, “For Ja, basketball needs to take a back seat at this time. Prior to his return to play, he will be required to formulate and fulfill a program with the league that directly addresses the circumstances that led him to repeat this destructive behavior.”

In response, Morant issued his own statement which address his assigned homework.
“I’ve had time to reflect and I realize how much hurt I’ve caused,” said Morant in a statement he released on Friday. “I want to apologize to the NBA, the Grizzlies, my teammates and the city of Memphis. To Adam Silver, Zach Kleiman and Robert Pera — who gave me the opportunity to be a professional athlete and have supported me — I’m sorry for the harm I’ve done. To the kids who look up to me, I’m sorry for failing you as a role model. I promise I’m going to be better. To all of my sponsors, I’m going to be a better representation of our brands. And to all of my fans, I’m going to make it up to you, I promise.”

Cam’ron was known for hot takes way before his sports show. He has just confirmed his back and forth with Ben Gordon are not serious at all.

As spotted on HipHopDX the Harlem, New York native is making his rounds to promote his new hit show It Is What It Is. During an interview with Good Day New York’s veteran anchorwoman Rosanna Scotto the two discussed a variety of topics including how the new platform brought he and MA$E back together in a great way. He explained he offered him the co-host seat as a thank you.

“MA$E got me my first record deal, ever. So doing this show and creating this show and having him be a part of it, it felt like I’m giving back to him for helping me even be an entertainer” Cam’ron explained. “I may not have been where I’m at if [Ma$e] didn’t take me to Biggie Smalls and get me my first record deal. I wanted to pay him back, and hopefully, this show will do that.”
Rosanna also made sure to ask about his ongoing feud with former NBA baller Ben Gordon. Cam went to reveal their back and forth was never that serious. “So look, let me explain what happened with Ben Gordon,” he explained. “It’s funny, my brother is over there who started this whole thing. So I did a report on Ben Gordon and I’m not going to talk about Ben — wassup, Ben?”. At the end of the day it was all jokes. “It’s all fun and games, at least on my behalf. I think it’s all fun and games. I don’t have a problem with Ben.”
