Finneas is not letting anyone talk down his sister’s relationship online. In the comments of a Monday (Dec. 26) TikTok video, the singer-songwriter defended Billie Eilish from an attack on her relationship with The Neighborhood‘s Jesse Rutherford.

A TikTok user made a snappy video in response to one of Finneas’ recent videos and replied in a stitch video, “Oh yeah? Well, your sister’s dating a 31 year old man and your music is s–tty.” Finneas found the response video and commented, “I want my sister to be happy and safe and she is a 21 year old adult perfectly entitled to make her own life decisions.”

The Grammy-winning producer expressed a similar sentiment regarding Eilish’s relationship with The Neighborhood singer in November, telling E! News, “Listen, as long as she’s happy, I’m happy.”

As for the “Happier Than Ever” singer, she opened up about her relationship with Rutherford in her annual Vanity Fair video interview, published on Nov. 28. “It’s really cool, and I’m really excited and I’m really happy about it,” she said of her romance with the rock star. “I managed to get my life to a point where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f–king f–ker alive, but pulled his ass! Are you kidding me? Can we just [get a] round of applause for me … thank you, Jesse Rutherford, everyone! I pulled his a–. All me. I did that s–t.”

Lizzo and Austin Butler still have some Christmas leftovers from their joint Saturday Night Live appearance. On Thursday (Dec. 22), the pop star and Elvis actor joined forces on TikTok to wish their fans and followers happy holidays with one of the iconic songs of the season.

“We wish you a merry Christmas/ We wish you a merry Christmas/ We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year,” the pair sang in unison. After finishing their brief song, Lizzo — who was holding the camera — and Butler embrace, much to her delight and surprise.

“If we show up as Christmas carolers at your house wyd?” Lizzo captioned the jolly video.

The pair joined forces on the Dec. 17 episode of SNL. While it marked Butler’s first time hosting the program, Lizzo originally made her debut in December 2019, when she performed a holiday-themed version of “Good as Hell,” and she returned last season in April, when she hosted and performed “About Damn Time” and “Special.” For the latest episode, Lizzo performed her cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas.”

Lizzo appears to be into the Christmas spirit this year — in a preview of her upcoming interview on CBS Sunday Morning, the three-time Grammy winner chatted about owning her first-ever home in Los Angeles, which was decorated to the brim with Yuletide flair. “It’s like not having stuff for a long time, and now [that] I’ve got it, I’m going overboard,” Lizzo gushed in the preview. “I’m literally Santa Claus.”

It looks like Elon Musk will honor the results of his Twitter poll, well, sort of.
The Chief Twit, Elon Musk, announced on his Twitter account Tuesday, Dec.20, that he would “step down” as CEO as soon as he finds “someone foolish enough to take the job.”

Musk’s announcement comes two days after a poll he posted on his Twitter account asking his 122 million followers if he should step down as the chief operating officer of the social media company he spent $44 billion on.

As expected, a majority of the people who cast a vote in the poll voted yes and wanted him out of the position.
Bootleg Tony Stark, oops, Elon Musk decided to ask the question after Twitter announced a dumb content moderation policy forbidding users from sharing links to other social media platforms and using services like Linktree.
The new policy was met with intense backlash, and Musk and Twitter scrapped the whole idea. It was so bad that even some of Musk’s biggest supporters thought he went too far this time.
After sharing the poll that 17.5 million people partook in, with a whopping 57 percent agreeing he needs to step down, the very socially active Musk was eerily silent after finding out people don’t f*ck with him like that.
When he broke his silence, as expected, he only spoke to people who didn’t believe the poll results and entertained the idea that only “verified users” should be able to vote.
Tuesday, he finally seemed to abide by the poll results, saying he’s planning on stepping down as CEO but “will just run the software & servers teams.”

Elon Musk Has No Idea What He Is Doing
Musk “running the software and servers teams” has also come into question after his knowledge of running the platform after a Twitter user had some basic engineering questions for Musk, and the struggle was apparent.

We want Elon Musk to remove himself from Twitter altogether. Just saying.

Elon Musk said Tuesday that he plans on remaining as Twitter’s CEO until he can find someone willing to replace him in the job.

Musk’s announcement came after millions of Twitter users asked him to step down in an unscientific poll the billionaire himself created and promised to abide by.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!” Musk tweeted. “After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.”

Since taking over San Francisco-based Twitter in late October, Musk’s run as CEO has been marked by quickly issued rules and policies that have often been withdrawn or changed soon after being made public.

He has also alienated some investors in his electric vehicle company Tesla who are concerned that Twitter is taking too much of his attention.

Some of Musk’s actions have unnerved Twitter advertisers and turned off users. They include laying off half of Twitter’s workforce, letting go contract content moderators and disbanding a council of trust and safety advisors that the company formed in 2016 to address hate speech, child exploitation, suicide, self-harm and other problems on the platform.

Musk, who also helms the SpaceX rocket company, has previously acknowledged how difficult it will be to find someone to take over as Twitter CEO.

Bantering with Twitter followers last Sunday, he said that the person replacing him “must like pain a lot” to run a company that he said has been “in the fast lane to bankruptcy.”

“No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor,” Musk tweeted.

As things stand, Musk would still retain overwhelming influence over platform as its owner. He fired the company’s board of directors soon after taking control.

On Saturday, Cyrus took to TikTok to share scenes from her recent cruise with Royal Caribbean, which contained a major update about her relationship with the Dance Moms alum. A short clip in the video sees Siwa holding up a hot-pink egg from a game room, telling Cyrus (who is behind the camera), “This is my ‘I’m sorry for breaking up with you’ present.” No reason for the split was explained in the video, though Cyrus inserted clips of her swimming in the ocean with Siwa.

Fans in the comments were pleased to see how well the pair was handling the split, with one user writing, “Ok but I love how you guys still hung out like friends and all that while you were there! Super cool!” Another user wrote, “Me, the 1% population who is happy for you guys, together or apart! Put yourselves first, and just be happy. We’re all still young.”

The 19-year-old Siwa initially confirmed her romance with Cyrus in September by sharing a sweet video of them together. In the clip, Siwa and Cyrus were seen posing together in a photo booth, smiling before leaning in for a kiss. “Happiest girl,” the dancer captioned the post.

There’s a new potential CEO in town for Twitter, at least according to a wildly popular poll.

After Elon Musk tweeted a poll to users asking if he should “step down” as head of Twitter, rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg took a page out of the Tesla billionaire’s playbook by posting a poll of his own. “Should I run Twitter?” the 51-year-old Long Beach native asked Sunday (Dec. 18) evening. In less than 24 hours, over 2.3 million user responses have been recorded, with 81% — or approximately 1.7 million users — voting that the rap giant should be the new CEO.

Musk has the internet split over his brow-raising new changes to Twitter, with his own poll ending with a slight majority — 57.5% — voting he should step down from his position. Musk claimed in the tweet that he would “abide by the results” of the poll, thus paving the way for a new leader of the platform, maybe even Snoop. But things didn’t all boil down to a poll. Over a month ago during a Telsa-related trial, Musk testified that he is planning to find someone else to run Twitter and that he “frankly [doesn’t] want to be the CEO of any company.”

Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 18, 2022

Musk has seemed to be in over his head since taking over Twitter. Just yesterday (Dec. 18), he established a policy banning links to other social media websites on Twitter, including Facebook, Instagram and Linktree, only to reverse the rule less than 24 hours later. Whether Snoop’s tweet was serious or just for laughs, a number of users are enthusiastic about the possibility. Many users joked about an under-the-influence Snoop calling the shots on Twitter in response to the rapper and weed aficionado’s poll, with another user tweeting, “All I want for Christmas is for Snoop Dogg to run Twitter.”

Thomas Wesley is riding his horse back into the collective consciousness.

In a video uploaded yesterday (Dec. 12) to TikTok, the producer sidles up to the check-in counter at a lavish hotel. “Checking in for Diplo?” the hotel concierge says. “No, this time it’s Thomas Wesley,” counters the artist. He then winks at the camera before the video cuts to a shot of him strutting down a hallway while putting on a white cowboy hat while a clip of what is presumably his forthcoming country crossover plays.

The clip’s caption notes that “Thomas Wesley is back in business” and IDs the song as “Wasted,” a project with Kodak Black and emerging outlaw country singer Koe Wetzel. No release date for the song has been announced.

“Wasted” marks a return to country for Diplo, who released his debut album in the genre, Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley, Chapter 1: Snake Oil, in 2020. The lead single from the album, the Morgan Wallen collaboration “Heartless,” spent 39 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 29. The album, which also included collaborations with Leon Bridges, Noah Cyrus, Cam, Zac Brown, Julia Michaels and more, spent 25 weeks on the Billboard 200, and peaked at No. 50.

“We’re reaching people without Nashville giving us the approval,” Diplo told Billboard of his work in the country genre in a 2020 cover story. “We don’t really need it. With streaming services, you don’t need to be on the radio. Country records go for, like, a year to reach the charts. I’m into that. I’m learning from that.”

Selena Gomez is officially a Golden Globe nominee, and there’s one person who’s definitely very proud of her right now: Her younger self. To celebrate the news that she’s been nominated for best actress in a TV series, musical or comedy at next year’s awards, the 30-year-old star posted an old video in which she confesses in an interview that her big dream has always been to do exactly that.

Gomez shared the throwback to TikTok Tuesday (Dec. 13), one day after it was announced that her performance in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building had received a Golden Globe nod. In the video, a much younger Selena sits for a TV interview and talks about her experience attending that year’s Grammy awards.

When an interviewer asks her if she aspires to receive a Grammy nomination of her own someday — which for the record, did end up happening in 2021, when her record Revelación was in the running for best latin pop album — she says her sights are set more on acting-based awards.

“I think it would be an honor, of course, but I’m more of a Golden Globe or Oscar girl,” young Selena says.

Modern day Selena captioned the TikTok: “Dreams do come true!! GUYS IM NOMINATED FOR A GOLDEN GLOBE. brb gonna scream.”

Fans in the comments were quick to congratulate the “Rare” singer on the milestone. “Look at how far you’ve come selena we’re so proud of you,” wrote one. “Emmy, grammy and golden globe nominations all in one year,” replied another, referencing Only Murders‘ Emmy recognition in this year’s outstanding comedy series category. “We call her slaylena for a reason.”

Fans have a little less than a month until the awards ceremony on Jan. 10 next year to see if Gomez will go from Golden Globe nominee to Golden Globe winner. Also nominated in the best TV actress category are Abbott Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson, The Flight Attendant‘s Kaley Cuoco, Wednesday‘s Jenna Ortega and Hacks’ Jean Smart.
