If you haven’t used your Twitter account in a while and plan on keeping it, you better log on now because Elon Musk wants to get rid of it.

Elon Musk said on his janky Twitter app to warn his followers and other users, “You will probably see follower count drop” after revealing that the platform will begin “purging” accounts that “had no activity at all for several years.”

The announcement didn’t reveal an exact date for this purge, but you can bet one is on the way from Twitter in the form of a blog post.

Musk’s tweet about inactive accounts comes after reportedly threatening to reassign NPR’s Twitter handle after the news outlet ditched Twitter for other social media platforms after labeling NPR “state-affiliated media,” putting it in the same category as Russia’s RT.
Per Engadget’s reporting, Musk told NPR in an email exchange that it’s Twitter’s policy to “recycle handles that are definitively dormant,” and the “same policy applies to all accounts.”
Elon Musk Says His Company Will Archive Abandoned Accounts
Responding to his tweet, a paid subscriber to Musk’s profile “strongly” urged Musk not to purge inactive accounts. “Deleting the output of inactive accounts would be terrible. I still see people liking ten year old tweets I made, but the threads are already often fragmented with deleted or unavailable tweets. Don’t make it worse!”
Musk replied to the user by revealing his platform would archive the “abandoned” accounts.

Currently, the platform’s policy page on inactive accounts says to “log in at least every 30 days,” adding it will delete accounts due to inactivity.
We shall see if Musk keeps his word on this policy update.

Music fans and fashion spectators alike were stunned by Doja Cat‘s high fashion take on Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, at the Met Gala on Monday (May 1), and the pop star is clearly still feline fine in new photos she posted to Instagram on Wednesday (May 3).

The “Need to Know” rapper donned an ensemble very similar to her Oscar de la Renta Met Gala red carpet outfit. Doja is seen in the photo lying on a bed fitted in cream-colored sheets and a two-piece set consisting of a dazzling beaded top complete with a cat ear hood and a matching skirt in a blush pink shade.

Doja ditched the facial prosthetics she wore to the Met Gala and instead opted for intense black eyeliner, lashes and pink lipstick. One fan in the comments section remarked that she is a “literal doja cat,” while another Instagram user joked, “Absolutely puuurfect … get it??? I’ll see myself out.”

The star detailed her inspiration for her ensemble at this year’s Met Gala — which marked her first time ever attending the annual fundraising event — in a “get ready with me” interview with Vogue. “When this opportunity was even mentioned I thought about Carl and his cat and I was like, ‘I wanna be a cat,’” she recalled, adding, “I was trying to see if I could scare my cat with it, but he was just looking at me like ‘You look weird today, mom.’”

After weeks of hospitalization and countless well-wishes from his famous friends and fans alike, Jamie Foxx took to Instagram on Wednesday (May 3) to say thanks for “all the love.”

“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” the star wrote in a text post, shared to his Instagram feed. After the “Blame It” singer’s post went live, people took to the comments section to send messages for a speedy recovery.

Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean wrote, “Hey bro. Aj from Backstreet Boys my man your in my prayers day and night bro. Lets get you better and home.” Chika spoke for Foxx’s fans, writing, “We love you so much.”

The cause of Foxx’s hospitalization has not yet been disclosed by his family or team. Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, announced his hospitalization on April 12.

“We wanted to share that my father Jamie Foxx experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she wrote at the time. “Luckily due to quick action and great care he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

In light of Foxx’s hospitalization, Nick Cannon will fill in for him on Beat Shazam, which is currently in its sixth season and is slated to premiere May 23 on Fox. Foxx has hosted the show since its inception in 2017, while his daughter Corrine served as the show’s DJ; Kelly Osbourne will take her place.

Cardi B dazzled at the 2023 Met Gala on Monday night, descending on the Metropolitan Museum of Art in three separate looks — including in a black-and-white ensemble perfectly fitting with the night’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”

The “Up” rapper shared the behind-the-scenes of getting ready for the classy look in a video with Vogue, in which she shared details on the origins of her looks and how it tied into the theme of the fashionable evening.

“My inspirations for this look, it’s just Chanel and Karl. It’s a little mix, because if you see the top, it’s giving the infamous Karl suits with the tie, the white collar. Almost like his suit, but not really,” she explained. “At the bottom, if you see the skirt it has the camellias, which is the flower. So yeah, it’s just a little bit of everything. It’s representing the house of Chanel and Karl. Karl is so infamous for his gray hair.”

Though Cardi has had a showstopping look every time she’s attended the ceremony, she admitted that nerves still get the best of her. “Every single time that I got to the Met, it’s fun of course. … After my first time going to the Met, I always get anxiety. And the anxieties just grow and grow and grow,” she said, adding, “Maybe because my looks are so spectacular that people just expect every year to be more amazing than the last, and it’s so hard because imagine competing with myself. That is sickening.”

The 30-year-old was then asked what she would tell Lagerfeld if she had the chance to speak with him in person. “I would’ve told him I need a discount at the Chanel store. And tell him that he’s amazing and iconic. Like you’re so iconic that they’re making a Met Gala representing you, honoring you. I know he’s smiling.”

Another Met Gala has gone down in the history books! Musicians and celebrities alike descended upon New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 1) for the institution’s annual fundraising event, which also doubles as one of fashion’s biggest nights.

As always, the Met Gala follows a different theme each year, with 2023’s being “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” to honor the late designer who passed away in 2019; the theme followed in the footsteps of previous designer tributes, much like 2017’s “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” and 2011’s “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.”

With the event honoring Lagerfeld’s legacy in the fashion world, musicians in attendance could pull inspiration or from Lagerfeld’s designs for Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel and his eponymous brand, which resulted in the events attendees either dressing like the icon — see: Cardi B, Pusha T and Conan Gray — or going the more daring route by dressing like Lagerfeld’s famous feline Choupette

Doja Cat was the talk of the town, as she elegantly arrived in a backless hand-beaded white gown by Oscar de la Renta a fitted hood punctuated by glittering cat ears and forehead jewels. In a clear homage to Choupette, Doja accessorized the look with facial prosthetics to make her look even more catlike.

Bad Bunny made a splash in the menswear department by showing up in a fitted, cream colored suits decorated with fabric rosettes. The look was business in the front, and a party in the back, as his suit jacket was backless.
