Once again Nike is back in court on the offensive as they’ve decided to bring yet another lawsuit against a few competitors who they feel are infringing on their creations.

According to Complex, Nike has filed a few patent infringement lawsuits against both Skechers and New Balance for biting their beloved Flyknit technology and using it on their own footwear silhouettes. Suing both companies for “unauthorized use of it’s patented technology,” Nike is looking to shut down both brands from continuing to produce and sell it’s increasingly popular footwear lines.

Citing dozens of Skechers models and 21 New Balance sneakers in their lawsuit which they allege ripped off their Flyknit tech, Nike wants the courts to step in and not only award them damages, but also stop both companies from continuing to bank off what they say was their original creation.
Complex reports:
Nike holds a number of different patents for its Flyknit material, the first of which was granted in September 2012.
Nike has sued Skechers over alleged Flyknit infringement before, but this is the first time the brand has taken aim at New Balance. In January, Nike contacted New Balance in an attempt to flag the issue before going through with the lawsuit, but claims New Balance has instead “only escalated the scope of its infringing activities.”
Nike isn’t playing when it comes to their chips. Whether you’re an independent sneaker creator or a big conglomerate of a company, if they feel your hand in their pocket, they’ll try to cut it off. Heck, it might get to the point where Nike starts suing customers for not rocking their footwear with the proper attire and making them look bad.
Following the lawsuit, New Balance decided to acknowledge the situation and released a statement on the matter.
“New Balance fully respects competitors’ intellectual property rights, but Nike does not own the exclusive right to design and produce footwear by traditional manufacturing methods that have been used in the industry for decades. We will vigorously defend ourselves against Nike’s attempts to enforce its patents beyond their lawful scope.”
When reached for comment, Skechers declined to comment on the pending litigation.
Skechers doesn’t want that Nike smoke and might fold quick-fast. New Balance meanwhile seems ready to fight to the end to maintain it’s growing popularity.
What do y’all think of Nike slapping New Balance and Skechers with this lawsuit? Are they justified or just plain old greedy at this point? Let us know in the comments section below.

It’s official, Skechers is in the basketball game. And with a growing roster featuring the likes of Terance Mann, Julius Randle and possibly Joel Embiid (we’re still surprised by that one), they’re looking to make a big splash upon their arrival.

Source: Skechers / Skechers
Tonight (Oct. 25), both Julius Randle of the New York Knicks and Terance Mann of the Los Angeles Clippers will take to the court in Skechers new basketball sneakers, the SKX Resagrip™ and SKX FLOAT™, and in doing so will kick off the era of Skechers basketball sneakers that no one really saw coming.

On Tuesday (Oct. 25), Skechers announced their excitement over their latest venture of branching into the sport while promoting the technology they’re using in their new silhouettes, which was designed to help their athletes perform at the top of their game.
Per Skechers:
The perfect hybrid of form and function, the SKX Resagrip™ is designed for players who move at top speed with next-level cushioning and responsiveness to accommodate quick and explosive movements. It features Goodyear® Resagrip Technology with a unique outsole configuration so you can play hard and focus on your game.
For players in search of game-changing stability, the SKX FLOAT™ offers strategically-placed TPU to help lock the foot in place, while a lightweight Swirl Tech™ design provides flexibility for an exceptional court feel with a Goodyear® outsole for enhanced traction. Both styles include Skechers Hyper Burst® cushioning in the midsole plus a Hyper Burst Pro™ sockliner for added comfort.
Julius Randle and Terance Mann seem more than happy with their new home and the support they’re getting from the Skechers basketball division.
“It’s an incredible experience working with Skechers. They’re new to the sport, so we have the opportunity to do exciting things outside the box in a positive and impactful way,” said Julius Randle in a statement. He continued: “Skechers is a great fit for me because I’m a competitive player and they have this same approach when it comes to their mission to make the best shoe on the court. This is the next stage in a journey for Skechers and for my career, so we’re trailblazing together with these amazing shoes. I love that.”

“From the first moment I stepped onto the court in Skechers, I knew these shoes were the real deal—they’re so comfortable and also represent my style,” said Terance Mann in a statement. “I love that Skechers is an L.A.-based brand. I can meet in person at any time to talk about the shoes and really partner with them. They’re giving me everything that I need, and I’m looking forward to competing in Skechers.”
We lowkey wanna try on a pair to see what all the hype is about.
Still no confirmation from Joel Embiid’s camp on whether or not the NBA MVP will become the official face of the Skechers basketball division, but if and when he does, that’ll certainly help give them a boost in popularity, especially if he can go a whole season without getting injured (just sayin’).
What do y’all think of the new Skechers basketball sneakers? Given their reputation of making some of the most comfortable sneakers for moms and golfers, would y’all wanna give them a try? Let us know in the comments section below.

Just when it looked like the New York Knicks Julius Randle was going to be the face of Skechers basketball division, rumors are swirling that the NBA’s 2022-2023 MVP is about to ink a deal with the brand known for making mom and old people sneakers (no shots).

On Tuesday, (Oct. 18), NBA insider Shams Charania took to Twitter to reveal that Philadelphia 76ers superstar center Joel Embiid was close to walking away from Under Armour and inking a sneaker deal with Skechers just weeks after Julius Randle and Terrance Mann joined their growing basketball family. As to why Embiid would leave Under Armour for a brand that has even less popularity out on these playgrounds is anyone’s guess, but best believe it has something to do with the size of that bag that’s dangling on the other side of that contract.

According to The Athletic, the deal isn’t done just yet but Joel is already testing some Skechers while out on the hardwood floor.
The Athletic reports:
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, the NBA’s reigning MVP, is nearing a deal to become Skechers’ star pitchman, industry sources briefed on the talks told The Athletic. A deal has not been signed yet, but Embiid wore a Skechers shoe for the first time during 76ers practice Wednesday with the brand’s performance staff on site as he begins to test out the sneaker, sources said. Embiid will begin wearing the new Skechers shoe in games once the deal is fully complete, according to a source.
Man, if Skechers can create a pair of sneakers that can keep Joel Embiid from re-injuring his knees, legs or back we’re all for it because that man stays missing games every year with some kind of injury.
Regardless of how we may feel or how Joel may get clowned on social media, the man is about his coin and if Skechers is offering a helluva payday for his services while providing him with some state of the art silhouettes that can support his 7′ 0″ and 280 pound frame, why not?
Go get them buckets in some mom sneakers, sir.
What do y’all think of Joel Embiid signing with Skechers? Let us know in the comments section below.

The “Paint the Town Red” rhymer “Doja-fyed” the sneakers by utilizing mixed materials such as premium leathers with hints of patent leather and mesh adding an eccentric touch that stays true to her style. The sneakers, which are available in black, white, off white, olive green and lavender, are outfitted with the signature Skechers x Doja Cat logo and feature Skechers’  Air-Cooled Memory Foam insole.

In addition to designing the collection, Doja put her creative stamp on the Skechers campaign. “For this campaign, I worked with Skechers to create visuals that were simplistic, art-forward, edgy…and all the while we explored different elements like fire, burnt textures, and the aftermath of the flames,” she explained.

Doja was first inspired to collaborate with Skechers when she sported a pair of the original D’Lites sneakers during her headlining set at Coachella in 2022.
