“Since starting Haus Labs, I’ve been able to really learn a lot about not just how people are using makeup and skincare products but also how products are made. With our foundation, I really feel like we did that. Without using many of the harmful additives and chemicals that clean brands use every day.”
To start, Gaga applies the Triclone Skin Tech Medium Coverage Foundation (shade 110). Haus Labs’ foundation is powered by fermented arnica a plant-based topical used for skin irritations such as inflammation, redness, bruises and swelling.
“This ingredient is super special. It was inspired by own issues with redness on my face,” Gaga explains. “I have worn so much makeup for so many years, mostly on stage but off stage as well. Makeup really wrecked my skin, so something that’s really special about our foundation is it’s 70 percent skincare. I know we hear sometimes that foundations have a couple good ingredients in them, the truth is a lot of foundations use a little bit [of clean ingredients] and it’s not very active on the skin.”
The foundation offers light coverage with hydrating ingredients, and it’s available in 51 shades and is one of the top rated products on the brand’s site with over 11,000 customer reviews.
“It was so important that we had 51 shades,” Gaga continues. “Within 51 shades there are six shade families and within those shade families there’s a true balance. There are warm, neutral and cool tones for everyone.”
