It seems like Offset is no longer at odds with his recording home. He has dismissed his lawsuit against Quality Control Music.
As spotted on Variety Magazine the Lawrenceville, Georgia native is moving on from his legal woes concerning his solo work. Back in April it was revealed that the Migos member was trying to regain the ownership to his master recordings. TMZ reported that in 2013 he signed a contract with QC to produce solo albums. But in 2015 the record label signed a new distribution deal with Capitol Records that in turn reverted ownership of his solo works back to Quality Control. Naturally, Offset felt that the move violated the original 2013 terms thus he took the record company to court.
On Friday, August 4 Offset’s legal team requested the lawsuit be dismissed with prejudice. Neither Quality Control or representatives for the “Slipper” rapper have yet to publicly comment on the recent news. Back in May Offset spoke to Variety Magazine for their cover story and he discussed the situation. “This is me going full-fledged into my solo career,” he explained. “The objective is to do it fully and smash sh*t and f*** the game up as a solo artist. I’m coming through, bustin’ through the door. It’s all set, my next chapter. It’s my time.”
Most recently Offset released his new single “Jealousy” with his wife Cardi B. You can watch the video below.

Offset is still not on good terms with his label. The Atlanta rapper and Quality Control are in a legal battle over his master recordings.
As spotted on TMZ the Migos band mate is trying his best to obtain ownership of his solo efforts. The celebrity gossip website is reporting that in 2013 he signed an agreement with the company to produce solo projects. Fast forward to 2015 to QC signing a distribution deal with Capital Records that in turn landed the Rap record label the rights to all of his solo works the Georgia native created from 2018 to 2023.
His lawyer Bryan Freedman claims things changed in 2021 when the MC and the label parted ways and eventually inked a new deal that gave the master recordings back to Offset. But Quality Control says that the new contract only applies to the music he has created since the move to Capital Records but not the records prior.
On Monday, April 3 he took to social media to preview a new “untitled song which seems to address his challenges with his recording home. “They can’t be too upset / I could of kept it to myself, they can’t be too upset / I done broke bread, cut checks, they can’t be too upset / I took that rope off my neck, they couldn’t be too upset / N****s still bite my style, they can’t be too upset / I done laid low for a while, they can’t be that upset / N****s lost all my respect, they can’t be that upset” he raps.
Quality Control has asked that the suit be dismissed.

Quality Control Music, one of the most popular record labels in Hip-Hop, was acquired by Hybe America, the entertainment company helmed by Scooter Braun. According to reports, Quality Control Music was purchased at the price of $300,000.
The news was first announced on Wednesday (Feb 8.) by Hybe America and QC Media Holdings as reported by the New York Times. Hybe shared that the price of the acquisition includes both cash and stock holdings. Braun, one of the top music executives in the business, was named CEO of Hybe America in January. Hybe America’s parent company, Hybe, is based in South Korea and manages the K-pop group BTS.
“QC is one of the most significant independent labels in the world,” Braun said to The New York Times in a statement. “They not only distribute music, but they also distribute culture. Their artists are the voices of their communities.”
Quality Control Music was established in 2013 under the leadership of Pierre “P” Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee. The label is the home of Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and the Migos. According to P and Coach K, they are still the heads of the label but Braun will direct all business moves.
“We want to take our brand worldwide and need partners with mind-sets like ours — ground up, self-made and building companies from nothing,” P added in a statement regarding the new deal. “All of Hybe’s leaders are entrepreneurs with track records for finding, growing and amplifying their talent globally.”
