Haruki Murakami to Celebrate New Fiction Book With Midnight Parties & Special Curated Playlist

International bestselling author Haruki Murakami has a new book to add to your reading list. The City and Its Uncertain Walls marks the 15th book by the author and is set to drop on Nov. 19, but you can preorder a copy for up to 10% off if you’re feeling antsy to expand your music book collection.

Fans of Murakami can look forward to an interactive element to go with the new material including a specially curated playlist featuring albums and artists woven into the author’s books. As a music enthusiast, Murakami has continued to find ways to incorporate music into his novels with the latest release expected to mention the entire album of Yellow Submarine as well as Paul Desmond, Tchaikovsky, Dave Brubeck Quartet and more.

Murakami Midnight Parties will be held around the U.S. at select bookstores on Monday, Nov. 18, to celebrate the release, fans will be able to participate in raffles, trivia and pickup exclusive merch while being able to listen to the specially curated playlist. The City and Its Uncertain Walls follows a young man who, after his love disappears one day, takes journey beyond worlds to find her. As he struggles with his grief, he soon meets a young child who teaches him what he may have been missing all along.
