Stevie Nicks is celebrating 43 years of her album Bella Donna and she’s doing it with help from Mattel.
In celebration of the monumental anniversary, the musician collaborated with Mattel to create a Barbie doll inspired by the solo project. The latest doll pays tribute to Nicks’ iconic Bella Donna album, released in 1981, marking the star’s first solo project. The doll retails for $59.40, but the price varies depending on the retailer, and is available to shop at Walmart, Target, Mattel Shop and Mattel Creations. As of writing, the doll is out of stock on Amazon.
The doll is dressed in an extremely detailed replica of the gown seen on the cover of Nicks’ first solo album, capturing the ethereal style and timeless spirit of the garment and the singer wearing it. This isn’t the first time Nicks has been given her own doll. In 2023, Nicks’ likeness from the 1977 Fleetwood Mac Rumours album cover was made into a doll. The collector’s item sold out in under 24 hours. The tambourine-wielding doll wears a witchy, all-black look inspired by the ever-iconic cover of Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album Rumors, one of the band’s most popular works.
Nicks’ Bella Donna album peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 charts in Sept., the same year it dropped. The album spent nearly three years on the Billboard 200 charts, from July 1981 to June 1984. The solo project features 10 tracks, including hits like “Edge of Seventeen,” “Kind of Woman” and “The Highwayman.” Nicks enlisted help from fellow artists Tom Petty and Roy Bittan to write and compose certain tracks, including “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” and “Leather and Lace” respectively.
