On Sunday, July 21, President Joe Biden announced that he would not be seeking a second term.. While supporters were still catching their breath, he announced that he was endorsing his Vice President Kamala Harris for the gig, which was quickly met with widespread enthusiasm.
Taking to social media, President Biden said it was time for him to finish his term, and step aside. “While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a classy letter he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”
About an hour later, Biden made it clear that as far as next up, he was strictly team Kamala Harris. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” wrote Biden on X.
Social media quickly went up for Joe Biden, saluting for a job well done in the last three and half years. Also targeted was how mainstream media so quickly turned on Biden after a bad debate, chaos in the Democratic party and generally how horrible Trump is at everything, yet he gets a pass.

A CNN analyst took others to task for focusing on violent rhetoric after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, noting Trump’s influence on its rise.
The assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Saturday (July 13) has rattled the nation, with some pundits and media outlets focusing on the violent rhetoric that has been part of the political discourse instead of acknowledging Trump’s role in ramping it up over the past few years along with other Republican politicians and figures. This was pointed out by CNN analyst and Chief Domestic Correspondent Phil Mattingly during a panel discussion on the network on Sunday afternoon (July 14). Mattingly got straight to the point with the host, Manu Raju.
“The number of people I heard from last night, people who aren’t diehard Trump supporters who have had just a visceral response to this and their belief that this was driven by things that have occurred, that Democrats have said or Democrats have acted upon over the course of the last year, it’s very real whether or not you believe the evidence behind it,” Mattingly began. “The other thing I would say here is look, every speech Donald Trump gives, he talks about if Joe Biden wins, the country dies. If Joe Biden wins, everything is over — the Constitution falls apart,” he continued. “So let’s be real here: this isn’t because Joe Biden says Donald Trump is an existential threat.”
“Both sides are saying the exact same thing here, so let’s be a little self-aware about what we’re talking about here,” he concluded. The segment comes as Republican lawmakers leaped to put the blame on Democrats for violent rhetoric online. But social media users pointed out the hypocrisy of these lawmakers, which include Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene making a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, naming her Democratic colleagues as the ones allegedly fueling the chatter. Others pointed out how some Republican lawmakers showed up in Congress sporting AR-15 pins — the same weapon used in the assassination attempt — last year.

The New York Times published an editorial calling for Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race—far too late, social media users expressed.A new article from the New York Times editorial board is calling for former president Donald Trump to step down. “He is dangerous in words, deed, and action”, the article titled “Donald Trump Is Unfit To Lead” begins in all capital letters, going on to state that he “has shown a character unworthy of the responsibilities of the presidency.” The op-ed only consists of a few paragraphs, and details the dissatisfaction of the American public and the ways that the Republican Party has submitted to Trump, described as “a man as demonstrably unsuited for the office of president as any to run in the long history of the Republic, a man whose values, temperament, ideas and language are directly opposed to so much of what has made this country great.”
The article also touches on the current calls for President Joe Biden to end his campaign to be re-elected as president as a contrast to how bad of a candidate Trump is, calling the debate “rightful”. “This debate is so intense because of legitimate concerns that Mr. Trump may present a danger to the country, its strength, security and national character — and that a compelling Democratic alternative is the only thing that would prevent his return to power.” It ends by stating: “We urge voters to see the dangers of a second Trump term clearly and to reject it. The stakes and significance of the presidency demand a person who has essential qualities and values to earn our trust, and on each one, Donald Trump fails.”
Many online weren’t too pleased with the Times’ opinion piece was published a day after it published an opinion article from Academy Award-winning actor George Clooney, who had called for President Biden to drop out of the race. Some decried the move as a last-ditch attempt to save subscribers, who have been canceling their subscriptions to the newspaper over their perceived refusal to cover Donald Trump’s misdeeds to focus on the debate over some Democrats wanting Biden to step down as the party’s nominee. Some did laud the Times for finally declaring the position in clear, bold terms.

George Clooney’s New York Times editorial calling for President Joe Biden to remove himself from the 2024 presidential election race has drawn sharp criticism on social media.Turmoil has ensued as several media figures and some Democratic lawmakers have called on President Joe Biden to step aside as the nominee in the 2024 presidential election in the last two weeks. These voices were joined by Academy Award-winning actor George Clooney, who penned an opinion piece published in the New York Times calling for Biden to bow out on Wednesday (July 10). “I love Joe Biden…In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced. But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can,” he wrote.
Clooney would go on to state that Biden’s demeanor during his lackluster debate performance against presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump was similar to what he witnessed at a major fundraiser for Biden’s campaign three weeks prior. Clooney’s call for Biden to drop out was surprising – the actor is considered to be a strong friend of the president, as well as former President Barack Obama, and has lent his support to the Democratic Party frequently in the past. In the op-ed, he acknowledges that relationship and admits that if Biden were to step down it would be “messy” but worth the confusion.
It didn’t land that way for many on social media, who viewed the 63-year-old actor’s article as only helping the Republicans and Donald Trump. Others called him out for being another entitled white male figure to add their name to the push, remarking that he is living comfortably in a villa on Lake Como in Italy. Clooney even got blasted by Trump in a post that he made on Truth Social. So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act,” Trump wrote. “He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything?” Former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren also chided Clooney in a post on X, formerly Twitter, writing: “He is close to Biden..why didn’t he just TALK to him privately and to the family?”

President Joe Biden and his showing at the first presidential debate with Donald Trump reportedly set off alarms throughout campaign insiders and the Democratic Party. In a new interview, President Joe Biden showed some of the determined grit that some observers felt was missing from his campaign and displayed confidence in his abilities to return to the White House for a second term.
President Joe Biden called into the Monday (July 8) edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe and called out members of his party who were said to be doubtful of his chances of maintaining the pace and vigor needed to carry the campaign. In a brazen move, President Biden didn’t name names but did aim sharp barbs at critics instead of rallying around the will of the people.
“I’m getting so frustrated by the elites in the party. They know so much more,” Biden said with measurable defiance. ‘If any of these guys don’t think I should run, run against me. Go ahead. Announce for president, challenge me at the convention.”
Several House Democrats have gone on record to call for President Biden to drop out of the race, and the president also plans to speak with veteran party leaders to assure them of his intentions to remain in the fight.
“I don’t think what those big names think,’ Biden said. “They were wrong in 2020. They were wrong in 2022 about the red wave. They’re wrong in 2024.”
In addition to the tough talk from Biden on Morning Joe, the president also sent a letter to Democrats in Congress who may be concerned about his ability and health to withstand the brutal campaign trail ahead.
“I wouldn’t be running again if I did not absolutely believe I was the best person to beat Donald Trump in 2024,” Biden wrote in the letter. “We had a Democratic nomination process and the voters have spoken clearly and decisively.”

Waka Flocka told those at a recent show who supported President Joe Biden to “get out”, which was promptly derided by social media users.The fallout from the debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump last week continues, as noted Trump ally Waka Flocka has chimed in at one of his shows with the moment captured on video. Waka Flocka was performing at a show at Club Sky in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 27 when he paused and addressed the crowd. “All Joe Biden voters, get out of my concert. We’re gonna see y’all later at the bingo game. We’re gonna party right now for T24,” he said, referencing Trump’s current campaign for the presidency. That got a mixed reaction from the crowd with some raising their arms and cheering, while others booed audibly and others didn’t react at all. From that point, his DJ played a recent single, “It’s A Party” which is dedicated to the Republican nominee.

Reactions to the moment online were as mixed as what was heard from the crowd. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, one user wrote ‘I knew I have always liked Waka!!!’ and another simply said, “That takes courage.” Others, however, roasted the “No Hands” rapper mercilessly. “I’d be careful leaving the stage after those comments,” one wrote. Another flatly said, “That’s why he fell off.”
Waka Flocka’s support of Trump has become more visible within the past few years, joining other rappers who have thrown their support in with the former president. At his campaign rally in the Bronx, Trump appeared on stage with Brooklyn drill rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, who are both under indictment for a litany of charges including murder after their arrest last year. Sexxy Red has also expressed her support for Trump, explaining why in a podcast interview with Theo Von: ‘Once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Aww baby, we love Trump… We need him back because, baby, them checks.’

The Supreme Court’s ruling on the claim of immunity by former President Donald Trump was condemned in a dissent by Justice Sonia Sotomayor and President Joe Biden afterward.
The nation was rocked on Monday (July 1), as the Supreme Court issued its ruling on former President Donald Trump’s claims of absolute immunity for his actions in office. The vote was 6 – 3, as all of the conservative justices including Chief Justice John Roberts ruled that Trump was entitled to absolute immunity for acts carried out in his official capacity as president, but also ruled that not all of those acts were official. The ruling was seen as a major win for Trump as his trial to determine his role in the events leading up to the January 6 insurrection will now not take place until after the November presidential elections.
The three liberal justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson – dissented, with Sotomayor delivering a blistering opinion underscoring the severity of what took place. “Today’s decision to grant former Presidents criminal immunity reshapes the institution of the Presidency,” Sotomayor wrote, pointedly criticizing their conservative colleagues and Roberts, who authored the ruling. “Orders the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival? Immune. Organizes a military coup to hold onto power? Immune. Takes a bribe in exchange for a pardon? Immune. Immune, immune, immune.” She would end the dissent with “The indictment paints a stark portrait of a President desperate to stay in power. Because our Constitution does not shield a former President from answering for criminal and treasonous acts, I dissent.”
Sotomayor’s opinion also called out how the majority – including Trump-appointed Justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Comey Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh – didn’t offer clear guidelines as to what is deemed official. President Joe Biden issued a nationwide address on Monday evening noting that “America will have to render a judgment about Donald Trump’s behavior” and said the ruling “almost certainly means that there are almost no limits to what the president can do. “This is a fundamentally new principle,” Biden said. “It’s a dangerous precedent, because the power of the office will no longer be constrained by the law.” Biden also highlighted the danger apparent if Trump returns to office in November urging people to vote for democracy, stating that he “will be even more emboldened to do whatever he pleases whenever he wants to do it.”

Reverend Al Sharpton had some terse words for Democrats upset over President Joe Biden’s debate performance, telling them not to be hasty.
The debate performance of President Joe Biden Thursday (June 27), against Donald Trump has prompted a wave of concern among Democrats and the left, with some calling for Biden to drop out for another candidate in the November elections. Reverend Al Sharpton firmly disagreed with that position on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, saying that such talk helps Trump more than they realize. “He had a bad night, he had a terrible night, but do we not say, ‘Wait a minute, he helped to preserve and maintain affordable care, he fought for police reform giving the executive order on George Floyd, brought unemployment numbers down after a catastrophe that Donald Trump handed us,’” Sharpton said to the panel.
“Record low Black unemployment numbers,” he added. “Really all the things: infrastructure bill, inflation bill. We’re not going to give him the weekend to see if he can recover?” The civil rights activist then exclaimed, “I think that we cannot — we have to stop whining and start winning. The whiners and the winners are the ones that have to make a choice in this case.” Sharpton would conclude by presenting a scenario of what could happen at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago if Biden were to step down. “The other part, and I’ll finish, is that what happens if he steps out?” he asked. “We going to have a riotous convention? We going to have this crowd against this crowd against this crowd? All Donald Trump has to do is sit back, get a Big Mac, and watch the Democrats destroy themselves.”
Sharpton held fast to that sentiment as he sat down for an interview with MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace Friday (June 28). “What I say to all these people talking about a brokered convention or should he step out, I say one, that’s up to him. But second, who steps in that you can tell me can beat Donald Trump?” he said. “The only one I’ve known to ever beat him is Joe Biden.”

He added, “So, it’s over for Joe. But the White House doesn’t yet know how or when to make the announcement. Stay close. (2/2)”
As expected, members of the Donald Trump cult are seizing this blind cry in the dark as a signal that their man is a shoo-in for the White House and taking the country further into the dark ages.
However, it has already been reported that the Biden campaign is raising millions of dollars. The campaign has raised more than $33 million since the debate while the Trump campaign touted an $8 million haul on the day of the presidential debate in Atlanta. There are also reports that since his guilty conviction, Trump’s campaign has raised more than Biden’s but the gap seems to be narrowing.
However, the big point here is Bill O’Reilly doesn’t know anything and until someone from the White House or the Democratic National Committee confirms, just chalk this up as a cheap trick for clicks. That’s something Freaky Bill knows about.

Vice President Kamala Harris defended President Joe Biden’s performance in the CNN-hosted debate, insisting he had a “strong finish”.
The first presidential debate between President Joe Biden and Republican nominee and former president Donald Trump took place in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday night (June 27). Biden’s near-listless performance became a hot topic after it ended, and the main subject for Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper afterward which got contentious as he pressed her about Biden’s performance at the debate hosted by his network.
“Yes, it was a slow start, but it was a strong finish,” Harris said, adding that “what became very clear through the course of the night is that Joe Biden is fighting on behalf of the American people on substance, on policy, on performance. Joe Biden is extraordinarily strong.” As Cooper returned to query about Biden’s showing citing the concern from some Democrats and pundits, the vice president pushed back against it. “Listen, people can debate on style points,” Harris replied. “But ultimately, this election and who is the president of the United States has to be about substance, and the contrast is clear.”
Cooper noted Harris’ own debate performance against Biden in 2019, noting “he was a very different person on stage” before asking: “Can you say that you are not concerned at all having watched the president’s performance tonight?” Harris responded firmly: “It was a slow start. That’s obvious to everyone. I’m not going to debate that point. I’m talking about the choice in November. I’m talking about one of the most important elections in our lifetime.” She stressed that point to Cooper, pivoting to talk about Biden’s “three and a half years of performance,” and pointing to what would be at stake in the November elections.
The vice president also defended Biden in another interview on MSNBC, acknowledging the slow start but insisting that his messaging was “clear” and hammering Trump on the litany of false claims he made – which were disproven in a fact-checking segment by CNN after the debate ended, which stated that Trump issued at least 30 false claims while on stage.
