He just couldn’t help himself. Joe Jonas leaked a snippet of the Jonas Brothers‘ new song “Wings” on social media on Sunday (Jan. 29).
“Guys, we got the mix of our new song ‘Wings’ and, umm, I don’t care, I just want you to hear it. C’mon,” the middle JoBro says before heading inside to the studio where his siblings are taking in the unreleased track.
As the trio blast the song, Nick Jonas can be heard crooning, “You are the wings I need to fly away,” before the beat drops and he tosses the mic to Joe, who belts out, “When you give me love, I feel it/ I feel it, I feel it/ Got me runnin’ through the ceilin’/ The ceilin’, the ceilin’/ And my love, it never had a meanin’/ A meanin, a meanin’/ You gave me a reason, you got me believin’/ You’re makin’ me say.”
“Wings” is slated to be included on the tracklist for the Jonas Brothers’ upcoming sixth studio set, a follow-up to No. 1 album Happiness Begins from 2019. Previously, the band called the song one of their favorites off the forthcoming, Jon Bellion-helmed LP in a sit-down with Variety. (Kevin Jonas also named the as-yet-unheard “Vacation Eyes” as his personal favorite, while Nick was torn between “Little Bird” and “Waffle House.”)
Ahead of the album’s unveiling, Joe, Nick and Kevin will be receiving their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday afternoon (Jan. 30).

Joshua Bassett has a message for fans who are worried about his well-being: Don’t be. In a series of posts on his Instagram Story, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter addressed concerns over some of his previous tweets — in which he abruptly professed his Christian beliefs — and stated that he’s better than ever since finding peace in religion.

“For those concerned about me be sure of this: i’m better than i have ever been,” he wrote Sunday night (Jan. 29). “The peace i feel is far beyond what i thought possible.”
The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star also shared anecdotes form his spiritual journey, including one where he asked God to “send someone to touch my back” while praying at church. “Moments later, two people came up behind me saying that God put it on their heart to put their hands on me and pray,” Bassett wrote. “His love is great, and my faith is certain. praise be to God forever and ever in Jesus name.”
“I have also first hand encountered Jesus twice,” the actor added. “The experience’s [sic] were richer and more vivid than anything in my entire life… i look forward to speaking about it soon.”
Bassett’s posts come a few weeks after he startled some fans and delighted others with a religious Jan. 5 tweet that read, “Jesus Christ is the only way. His death and resurrection are historically documented. turn away form hate, seek forgiveness and come home to Him .”
The message polarized his audience, with some people leaving question marks and notes of concern in his comments section. Others praised Bassett for embracing Christianity.
A few days before that, however, the “Lie, Lie, Lie” musician had tweeted, “most people i know, including myself, are struggling right now.”
“Please be good to yourselves and others, reach out to support those you love, and dont be afraid to ask for help,” he’d noted in the tweet posted on Christmas Eve.
Billboard has reached out to Bassett’s rep for comment.
The young star has certainly had a turbulent past couple of years. In January 2021, he became the target of online harassment after his HMTMTS costar and rumored ex-girlfriend Olivia Rodrigo released her heartbreaking hit single “Drivers License,” which painted an ex in a not-so-positive light. That same month, he was hospitalized after experiencing septic shock and heart failure.
In a pair of GQ interviews, Bassett also opened up about coming to terms with his sexuality, going to therapy and healing from incidents of sexual abuse he experienced in his childhood.
“I just hope that this generation can feel comfortable, confident, and safe talking about sexuality without needing to be a box and without needing to have it all figured out,” he told the publication in June 2021. “I didn’t necessarily have that when I was younger … I’m growing so much. The year that I’ve had has been earth-shattering. I’m still landing on my feet.”
Madonna‘s upcoming world tour is already poised to be quite the celebration. Now, all she needs are some people to celebrate with.
In a new video posted on her Twitter Sunday (Jan. 29), Madonna gets some help commemorating her career-spanning Celebration Tour from a host of special guests. Asking at the video’s start “I really want to know if you guys are excited that I’m going on tour,” the singer cedes the screen to a series of artists — including FKA Twigs, Kim Petras, Paris Hilton, Honey Dijon, Quavo, Ab-Soul, Bob the Drag Queen, Arca, Tokischa, Jozzy, Teezo Touchdown, Evan Mock and Jozzy — all offering emphatic yeses.
For at least one of those stars, the excitement is about more than just the prospect of seeing a new Madonna show. Bob the Drag Queen, the winner of season eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is set to appear as a special guest on the circuit. Celebrating the announcement two weeks back, the drag star tweeted a photo of herself dressed in a Madonna-inspired outfit on Drag Race next to a photo of the pair hanging out. “We’ve come a long way,” the queen wrote.

The tour has already sold out in multiple major cities, leading to Madonna adding 13 new dates to accommodate the demand from fans. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the icon took a moment to relish her recent achievements. “I’m about to create another show, and I’ve been working for several years on the screenplay about my life,” she said. “This is a good time for me — I’m gathering ideas, getting inspired, hanging out with creative people, watching films, seeing art, listening to music.”
While that screenplay was in the process of being transformed into a biopic of the singer’s life, Madonna’s representatives recently revealed that the production was officially being put on hold so that the singer could focus on her world tour.

Just three months after dropping her fifth studio album, Takin’ It Back, Trainor stopped by the TODAY show Monday (Jan. 30) morning to share her exceptionally well-timed joint announcements. First, Dear Future Mamas‘ due date is April 25 this year, and second, her baby on the way is expected to arrive this summer.
“What a blessing,” the “Made You Look” singer also told People of her pregnancy news. “I’m just so grateful I can get pregnant. And I’m like, ‘I’m crushing it. This is amazing. This is my dreams.’ I’m halfway there — I want four kids!”
She also shared the baby announcement on Instagram with a photo of her sonogram. “BABY #2 COMING THIS SUMMER,” the singer captioned a snap of herself holding up the series of images.
Trainor, who’s four months pregnant, and Sabara first became parents in February 2021, when they welcomed their son, Riley. The “All About That Bass” musician’s experiences being pregnant with and giving birth to Riley will serve as the focus of Dear Future Mamas, which will also include “TMI real talk” about body image, the newborn days and insights from the artist’s own personal trainer, registered dietitian, husband and ob-gyn, according to a release.
“After feeling so overwhelmed and alone in my first pregnancy, I was inspired to write this book to make sure no other future mama ever felt like that,” Trainor said in a statement. “I want to give future mamas permission to find the right path for them — without the judgment of others. I want this book to feel like a hug from a bestie.”

Styles is nominated for six Grammys, including album, record and song of the year. These are his first nominations in Big Four categories.
The Recording Academy made its first performers announcement on Wednesday (Jan. 25) – Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy and Sam Smith & Kim Petras.
All of these are artists are nominated in Big Four categories this year except for Smith & Petras and Combs. “Unholy” by Smith & Petras would almost certainly have been nominated for record and song of the year, but the single was released just eight days before eligibility closed on Sept. 30, 2021 – a bit too late to fully register with Grammy voters. As it is, it is nominated for best pop duo/group performance.
The Grammys are getting a jump on the Brit Awards, which will be telecast from the O2 in London six days later (on Feb. 11). The Brits have also booked Styles, Lizzo and Smith & Petras, among other acts.
Styles performed “Watermelon Sugar” on the Grammy telecast two years ago. He also won his first Grammy for the track – best pop solo performance.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be hosted for the third year in a row by Emmy-winning comedian Trevor Noah. The show will be broadcast live on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards are produced by Fulwell 73 Productions for the Recording Academy. Raj Kapoor serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Ben Winston and Jesse Collins as executive producers. Phil Heyes joins the team for the first time as director. Eric Cook is co-executive producer with Tabitha Dumo, Tiana Gandelman, Patrick Menton. David Wild is producer.
Prior to the telecast, the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on live.grammy.com. Randy Rainbow, a first-time Grammy nominee this year for best comedy album for A Little Brains, A Little Talent, is co-hosting the show. His co-host has yet to be named.

Katy Perry is looking back on some of her past musical regrets.
The 38-year-old American Idol judge revealed in a TikTok video posted by 102.7 KIIS FM on Friday (Jan. 27) that she had once passed on the opportunity to work with Billie Eilish ahead of her 2016 debut single “Ocean Eyes.”
During a Q&A portion of what appeared to be an intimate concert, Perry revealed that someone had “sent me an email one time that [said],’Hey, check out this new artist. I’d really like us to work with her, because she was working with me for Unsub [Records].”

The “Dark Horse” singer continued, “It was a song called ‘Ocean Eyes,’ and it was just a blonde girl. And I was like, ‘Meh, boring.’”
With her eyes widening, Perry admitted that passing on the chance to work with Eilish — who was not yet a household name — was a “huge mistake, big mistake.” She then playfully added, “Don’t let this hit the internet.”
Following the release of “Ocean Eyes,” Eilish went on to win seven Grammys, a Golden Globe, and an Oscar. She also has five top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including chart-topper “Bad Guy.” Eilish earned her second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with her sophomore album, Happier Than Ever, in 2021.
Perry and Eilish have since become friends, as shown in Eilish’s Apple TV+ documentary The World’s a Little Blurry. At one point in the film, Perry pulls Eilish aside before the singer’s 2019 Coachella performance and tells her she can call if she ever needs any help understanding the bizarre world of pop stardom.
Watch Perry reveal her “big mistake” of not working with Eilish in the TikTok video below.
A day before TOMORROW X TOGETHER unleashed their new The Name Chapter: Temptation EP and officially kickstarted a new musical era, the K-pop boy band met with reporters both in-person in Korea and virtually around the world via a global media showcase on Jan. 26. In the hourlong press conference that included the first look at TXT’s new single, music video and stage performance, youngest member HUENINGKAI shared the group’s bold plan to “work hard to make 2023 the year of TXT.” With their most robust music output in months—not to mention the group’s highest amount of album pre-orders ever hinting at a high Billboard 200 debut—The Name Chapter: Temptation has already set TXT in motion to make that dream a reality.
With six entries on the Billboard 200 (the most of any K-pop group other than their BIGHIT MUSIC labelmates BTS), TOMORROW X TOGETHER have shown how their stylized storytelling targeted for their Generation Z is consistently connecting. But the quintet share that Temptation EP was particularly intentional for including the group’s own stories. The group said HYBE founder Bang Shi-Hyuk (who contributed to two of the EP’s five tracks, including the new single “Sugar Rush Ride”) encouraged them to take a heavier hand on certain songs this time to bring their own stories and lyrics. Not only do SOOBIN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, TAEHYUN and HUENINGKAI all boast writing credits, YEONJUN crafted melodies for one of the standout b-side tracks “Happy Fools,” marking his first melody contribution for a TXT album. “It made me so proud,” the 23-year-old remarked, “It was rewarding. It inspired me to write even more.”
With a slew of new genres explored, a significant crossover collaboration alongside Coi Leray and some of their career-best lyrics, The Name Chapter: Temptation is starting an excellent year and new music chapter for TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Read on for Billboard‘s ranking of the new tracks.
Give her all the flowers…again! On Thursday (Jan. 26), Miley Cyrus‘ “Flowers” became the most streamed song in a week in Spotify history for the second week in a row.
The streaming giant used Twitter to share the news, writing “It’s official…The record has been broken by @MileyCyrus herself on January 26, making #Flowers the most streamed song in a single week in Spotify history.”
While Spotify didn’t share specific numbers, the hit single first achieved the feat in the week of Jan. 19, making it all the more impressive that Cyrus managed to outdo herself for a second consecutive week after also debuting in the previous frame at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The success of “Flowers” has also boosted all the other songs in Cyrus’ proverbial garden of hits, with her entire discography from “Wrecking Ball” to “Midnight Sky” making a truly remarkable 65 percent gain in the week ending Jan. 19 according to Luminate — from 20.7 weekly million official on-demand U.S. streams to 34.2 million. It also fed the streaming numbers of Bruno Mars’ “If I Was Your Man” — which “Flowers” slyly plays on without sampling or interpolating any of the No. 1 torch song melodically.
After the song bloomed at No. 1, Cyrus tweeted a note of gratitude to her fans, writing, “Thankful that Flowers is Number 1 around the world. This song is dedicated to my fans & the steadfast self love I wish for each of you. Forever grateful, Miley.”

Let her take a breath and regain her composure. Mariah Carey is feeling the love after seeing the flood of reactions to her “It’s a Wrap” challenge from the Lambily.
The Elusive Chanteuse initially launched the TikTok challenge on Jan. 15 by lip-syncing her way through a sped-up version of the Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel fan favorite while flanked by a bevy of backup dancers in the snow, inspiring Lambs across the globe to join in on the fun.
“Battery about to die.. just watched hundreds of videos of IT’S A WRAP ON TIKTOK!!! I can’t even know what to say!!!” she tweeted Thursday in reaction to the outpouring, later adding, “”Lambs serving justice..it’s a WRAP!” while retweeting one fan’s recreation of her lip sync.
One fan page in particular tweeted that after the challenge, “It’s a Wrap” notched its “biggest update ever on Spotify yesterday, gaining a massive 243 THOUSAND streams.” While Mimi originally included the kiss-off on her 12th studio album in 2009, she later collaborated with Mary J. Blige on a duet version of the song, which appeared as a bonus track on the deluxe version of 2014’s Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.
The living legend’s revisiting of “It’s a Wrap” comes on the heels of yet another iconic Christmas season, which saw “All I Want for Christmas Is You” return to No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the fourth year in a row.
Next up, Carey is set to headline the 2023 edition of Lovers & Friends in Las Vegas along with Missy Elliott, Pitbull, Usher, Christina Aguilera and more.
Check out Mariah’s original “It’s a Wrap” challenge as well as some of her best reactions to the Lambs below.
