Before Jimin unveils his debut solo album FACE, the BTS member has made two long-awaited tracks available across streaming services.

At midnight on Monday (March 6), two of Jimin’s solo songs, “Promise” and “Christmas Love,” became available across all streaming services for the first time since their releases in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Before today, the tracks were only available on BTS’ SoundCloud or YouTube accounts.

The sparse and tender “Promise” was Jimin’s first official solo song revealed outside of BTS. Shared as a present to fans in 2018, the track was written and composed by Jimin alongside BTS leader RM and the group’s longtime producer and collaborator Slow Rabbit. Meanwhile, the festive and feel-good “Christmas Love” was shared as a holiday gift in 2020, and also saw Jimin, RM, and Slow Rabbit working together.

The two releases join Jimin’s steadily growing collection of solo songs on streaming, including “With You,” his duet with best friend and fellow K-pop star Ha Sung Woon, and “Vibe,” the Billboard Hot 100 hit collaboration with BIGBANG’s Taeyang.

The new songs come ahead of Jimin’s forthcoming solo album, FACE. Fans will get the first taste of Jimin’s FACE with the pre-release buzz single “Set Me Free Pt.2” and its accompanying music video on Mar. 17, before the Mar. 24 unveil of the complete six-track set alongside lead single “Like Crazy.”

Stream Jimin’s “Promise” and “Christmas Love” here.

While Selena Gomez has been dealing with some tough online drama over the past few weeks, the star’s fans have been supporting her every step of the way — especially when it comes to her music.

Gomez’s songs (on which she is the lead artist) registered 16.1 million on-demand U.S. audio streams in the week ending March 2, according to Luminate, up from 11 million the week before. The new total is her best audio streaming week since the week ending Nov. 10, 2022 (17.6 million), which was most likely linked to the release of her Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me documentary on Nov. 2.

That extra 5.1 million streams in the U.S. comes out to a bonus $27,030 for the recording rights holders, plus another $6,245 in publishing revenue, Billboard estimates.

While there is no clear cause of the boost, Gomez has been in the headlines quite a bit recently related to her alleged feud with Hailey Bieber, who is married to her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. It all started after the Only Murders in the Building star confessed on TikTok in February that she’d over-laminated her eyebrows. Kylie Jenner then shared a photo with her friend Hailey holding the camera close up to their own professional-looking brows.

Fans believed that the similarities between the posts was no coincidence, and that perhaps the reality star and model were making fun of Gomez. “This is reaching,” the Kardashians star commented about the situation on a TikTok. “No shade towards selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.”

At the time, Gomez added that she’s “a fan of Kylie,” though she has since commented on fan-made TikToks shading Hailey, writing “I love you” to one fan who slammed the Rhode founder for being a “nepo baby” and a “mean girl.” On a resurfaced video of Hailey pretending to gag at the mention of Taylor Swift’s music, Gomez replied, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”

However, most recently, Gomez has encouraged her followers to be more empathetic. “Please, please be kinder and consider others mental health,” Selena commented on one of her recent TikToks sharing her makeup routine. “My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love.”

Miley Cyrus is just days away from unveiling her much awaited eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, and the singer took to Instagram on Monday (March 6) to share a peak into the themes of the LP.

“When it comes to the sequencing of Endless Summer Vacation, I divided it by two parts: AM and PM to kind of almost represent an act. The AM to me is representing the morning time, where there’s a buzz and energy and there’s a potential of new possibilities. It’s a new day,” Cyrus explained in the short clip.

She continued, “At nighttime, it feels like there’s a slinky, seediness and kind of a grime but a glamour at the same time. In the evening, it’s a great time for rest, it’s a time to recover. Or it’s a time to go out and experience the wild side. In LA, there’s a certain energy to the night and you can feel trouble boil up to the surface and it’s very inspiring to me.”

According to a previous press release, the album — which follows Cyrus’ 2020 LP Plastic Hearts — was recorded in Los Angeles with producers Kid Harpoon, Greg Kurstin, Mike WiLL Made-It and Tyler Johnson. The “Midnight Sky” singer describes Endless Summer Vacation as a love letter to L.A. that showcases the confidence she’s found since focusing on her mental and physical well-being. The LP is led by Cyrus’ empowering lead single and Billboard Hot 100 chart topper, “Flowers.”

Along with the album, Cyrus will also be releasing her Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions) special on Disney+ on March 10, which will feature performances of songs from her new album, plus will see her revisiting her 2009 classic “The Climb” more than a decade after its release.

These 10 tracks from artists including Arlo Parks, Portugal. The Man, Jutes and more will get you energized to take on the week. Pop any of these gems into your personal playlists — or scroll to the end of the post for a custom playlist of all 10.

Arlo Parks, “Impurities”

Arlo Parks’ 2021 album Collapsed in Sunbeams was one of the strongest, most promising debut albums in recent memory, and based on what we’ve heard so far from follow-up My Soft Machine (out May 26), it sounds like the British singer-songwriter may soon have a classic on her hands. “Impurities” finds the retro soul vibes of Collapsed taking a backseat to blissed out ambient rock, with Parks’ voice occupying a satisfying middle ground between childlike sweetness and a sort of all-knowing assurance. – JOE LYNCH Dijon, “Coogie”

Baltimore-based artist Dijon taps into the creakier regions of his voice and the chunkier tunings on a guitar for “Coogie,” an idiosyncratic slice of alt-R&B. According to Dijon, it was recorded in the woods and “is out because it lived on a phone and wanted out.” Fair enough – who can argue with the wants and needs of a song? – J. Lynch

Mimi Webb, “Amelia”

The tender closing track to Mimi Webb’s self-titled debut album of the same name (Amelia) is a letter to her younger self: “Your mistakes, heartbreaks, only make you stronger anyway / And when you’re older, you’ll see life will pass you by, so just enjoy the ride… Everything is gonna be just fine.” For an album that’s made for introverts and extroverts alike, “Amelia” finds middle ground with its introspective lyrics that can be belted out loud. – LYNDSEY HAVENS

Portugal. The Man, “Dummy”

Released as the lead single off the alt-rock outfit’s forthcoming album Chris Black Changed My Life, “Dummy” is a slow groove built around a hypnotic, counting chorus (“One two three four/Everybody get on the dance floor/Five six seven eight/Its four am and I am wide awake”). Moving away from the pop appeal of the crossover smash “Feel It Still,” here the band is embracing its original method: follow a vibe down a rabbit hole. It pays off. – L.H.

binki, “Hotel Window”

DIY artist binki’s “Hotel Window’ is a gritty, surging track that mantains a similar momentum to a theme park ride. It starts off steady, but from the chorus to the verse and beyond the song seems to subtly pick up the pace. At just barely over two-minutes, it’s the type of song one wouldn’t hardly notice — or mind — if it played on loop. Much like a parkgoer wanting to ride again and again. – L.H.

Allie Kelly, “Gunshy”

Little is publicly known of newcomer Allie Kelly, but her rock-pop “Gunshy” is an intriguing enough entry point. Equal parts pointed (like the declarative chorus and confident riffs) and soft (like the hushed self-harmonies and whispered bridge), Kelly is an artist unafraid to embrace — and explore — life’s ups and downs in her music. – L.H.

Leland feat. MUNA, “Bad at Letting Go”

“Bad at Letting Go” sports some charming synth-pop production and a snappy tempo, but when you’re dealing with songwriters as impressive as Leland and MUNA, you’d expect the lyricism to serve as a highlight — and this collaboration does not disappoint. “Dancing in the bar, the boys have all turned to shapes / Cursing in the dark, and no one heard anything,” Leland sings on the chorus, providing late-night decisions with provocative imagery and a sense of urgency. – JASON LIPSHUTZ

Victoria Anthony, “Can’t Hold Back”

Victoria Anthony’s sophomore album, New Disaster, will be released on May 12 — the same day as the Vancouver-based singer-songwriter’s high school graduation — and new single “Can’t Hold Back” contains all of the ferocity of a teenage rebel yell. Anthony adopts the pop-punk production smoothly here, singing about catching feelings as the guitar line bares its teeth leading into a howl of a hook. – J. Lipshutz

Jutes feat. Royal & the Serpent, “Punkstar”

With a title like “Punkstar,” Jutes’ latest single aims high as a new-school pop-punk anthem, and carries the magnetism to sell its concept. Jutes sounds compelling whether he’s crooning the hook or fuzzing out his voice in the verses, and when Royal & the Serpent crashes into view, “Punkstar” multiplies its appeal. – J. Lipshutz

Cafuné, “Perspective“

Cafuné — the duo of Sedona Schat and Noah Yoo — continues to delve into the shift in sound explored in its 2021 viral smash, “Tek It.” Schat’s lush vocals float over contemplative, full bodied guitar instrumentation and drum work that, at times, ever so slightly hints at early 2000s emo and drum and bass, as she sings of losing the connective thread once had with an acquaintance: “I saw your face fall/ Through the hours of daylight left/ Now we’re running out of time/ I think I’m losing perspective.” – STARR BOWENBANK

Harry Styles has puppy love. Dressed head-to-toe in a cartoonish dog costume, the 29-year-old pop star made a cameo in tourmate Jenny Lewis‘ new music video Monday (March 6) for her track “Puppy and a Truck” — and yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds.

Styles’ face doesn’t appear until the very end of Lewis’ new visual, which stitches footage of her hanging out on the beach, playing with her cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel + poodle) and performing onstage as the “As It Was” singer’s opening act on his Love On Tour. Throughout much of the video, a figure dressed as a puppy with its tongue permanently stuck out is present in the background.

Then, in the last few seconds of the video, the costume-wearer removes his headpiece to reveal his true identity: Chart-topping English pop sensation Harry Styles. The musician goes on to flash a big smile at the camera and holds up two peace signs.

Lewis spent months on the road with Styles in 2021, opening for the “Watermelon Sugar” artist on a slew of his Love On Tour dates in North America. This summer, she’ll hit the road again as a headliner and as support for artists like Ruston Kelly and Beck. See a full list of dates here.

“To be on a giant stage in front of thousands of people after such a long period of isolation, those 45 minutes meeting Harry’s fans brought me back to life,” Lewis said of her time performing with Styles in a statement. “I was just trying to stay present and in the moment, and grateful to be able to share my life experiences and my songs, with such a loving audience.”

Katy Perry celebrated American Idol‘s 21st anniversary by posting a picture from her own sweet 21. The now-38-year-old singer shared the fresh-faced pic with fans on Sunday (March 5), in which she posed makeup-free in a tan, fringed-sleeve t-shirt while smiling into the camera.

“#idol is celebrating its 21st bday this year. When I turned 21 I rented a roller skating rink 🛼 and had McDonald’s 🫶🏼 “cater” along w/ 2 kegs in the middle of the rink,” Perry wrote in the caption to the backstage snap. “And two friends broke bones but we had a lot of fun (so I was told idk I had just turned 21 🤸🏻‍♀️🍹) anyway watch #idol rn.” The singer also encouraged her fans to let her know what they did for their 21st, if they can remember it.

Their answers were hilarious, ranging from a dinner at Olive Garden with mom and dad and a first taste of wine (with the ‘rents, anyway), to a trip to the hospital for gallbladder surgery and a pregnant woman who went to see the Ramones. There was even the tale of a Hawaiian-themed party in snow-packed Vail, Colorado in Dec. 1985 where all the guests showed up in shorts and Hawaiian shirts.

Perry has been posting up at the Idol judge’s desk since 2018 with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan and the trio kicked off the show’s 21st season on Feb. 19; Idol airs on ABC on Sundays at 8 p.m.

There he is! Jin returned to social media over the weekend to document a visit from two of his BTS bandmates while serving his mandatory time in the South Korean military.

In the photo shared on Saturday (March 4), the K-pop idol is flanked by none other than J-Hope and Jimin as he flashes the camera a peace sign in his camouflage military fatigues. “어서와,” he captioned the snap, which translates to “Welcome” in English. While the comments were turned off on the post, J-Hope did manage to leave a number of red hearts and heart eyes emojis beneath the photo with his pals.

Jin began his military enlistment at the close of 2022 with a sweet send-off from all six of his bandmates. Since then, he’s completed basic training, and has kept ARMY updated on his time in service.

In January, he shared an uplifting video that was filmed before he left, promising he’d “be back soon,” as well as a first look at himself in uniform. (“I’m having a good time,” he captioned the slideshow, making clear he was posting with permission from the military.) Jin also surprised ARMY with a special pre-recorded video for Valentine’s Day, macarons included.

Meanwhile, J-Hope and Jimin have both kept busy with new music as the start of their own military service looms. The former enlisted J. Cole — long known as one of his favorite artists — for their new collaborative single “On the Street” in the wake of releasing his new documentary J-Hope IN THE BOX. The latter, on the other hand, scored his first hit on the Hot 100 thanks to “Vibe,” his electric team-up with TAEYANG, and is currently prepping the release of his debut solo album FACE.

Fans at Madison Square Garden were treated to not one, but two super special guests at SZA‘s recent concert. Two of the 33-year-old chart-topper’s collaborators, Cardi B and Phoebe Bridgers, made surprise appearances at her SOS Tour’s New York City stop Saturday night (March 4).
Cheers erupted when Bridgers walked onstage in an oversized T-shirt to assist in singing “Ghost In the Machine,” her collaboration with SZA on the latter artist’s blockbuster sophomore album, SOS. The pair finished their performance by bowing in respect to each other, with SZA cheering, “Phoebe f–king Bridgers!”

And when Cardi B showed up in a stripey orange dress to rap “I Do,” her 2018 duet with SZA, the crowd went equally wild. “This queen is so kind to even take time with two children and a bajillion dollar career to come here,” SZA thanked the “WAP” rapper. “Thank you so f–king much.”

“Should we get ratchet?” Cardi then asked the crowd, jumping into a performance of her 2022 feature on GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2.”

The next day, Cardi tweeted a rave review of her friend’s performance, writing, “Sza show was amazing!!!! I recommend….It was giving vanilla & lavender aroma vibes ..I loved it soooo much!”

Just last week, SZA was in Los Angeles being honored by Billboard at this year’s Women in Music ceremony, where she was awarded with Woman of the Year just as SOS clocked its 10th nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard 200. The “Kill Bill” musician gave special thanks to fellow honorees such as Lana Del Rey and Latto in her speech, and shared her secret to success.

“I realized that the key is to stay open and available for whatever the universe or God wants to do with your life,” she said, confessing she used to feel like she “didn’t belong” in artistic spaces. “Saying yes to everything that’s scary, to everything that feels like it’s not for you or where you don’t belong, is really the only way where we walk through those doors.”

Justin Bieber celebrated his 29th birthday with a carnival-themed blowout that drew an A-list crowd of friends and fellow musicians over the weekend. Bieber commemorated the event by posting a series of snaps from the celebration on Sunday (March 5), including one with superfan-turned-pal Billie Eilish — smiling as she points to Justin, who is decked out in a backwards blue baseball hat, grey sweatshirt and baggy blue tie-dye cargo pants.
The series from photographer Ryan Kramer also finds Bieber — whose birthday was on March 1 — staring up at some unseen object while surrounded by a forest of colorful balloons and performing a private concert for his pals from a stage featuring a huge rainbow surrounded by colorful mushroom sculptures.

The slideshow also captures Leon Bridges performing with a band, with Justin sitting in on drums and then hopping up to give Bridges a huge hug. That run of pics has Justin hanging with rapper Don Toliver and wife Hailey Bieber, as well as friend Jaden Smith; a few days earlier model Hailey Bieber posted a sweet tribute to her husband, “29 never looked so good ☺️Happy Birthday to you best friend!” she wrote. “Words couldn’t possibly sum up all that you embody. So here’s to more joy, more travel, yummy food, adventures, more peace, fun, and most of all more love.”

A second set of pics features a run of goofing around shots of Bieber and The Kid LAROI and the “Peaches” singer sitting in for another set during the party, while the third catches JB performing as his pals sit on rainbow-colored pillows on the ground, with some rocking a commemorative “Bieber 29” hoodie.

It proved to be a busy weekend for JB, who also found time to take the stage with Toliver during the rapper’s set a the 2023 Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles on Saturday, where the friends reprised their collaboration on “Private Landing” from Toliver’s new Love Sick album.

All this activity came just days after Bieber appeared to pull the plug on all the rescheduled and remaining dates on his Justice World tour with no public explanation. While the singer has not yet spoken about the tour news, he removed the list of 80 dates with no explanation last week; at press time no tour dates were listed on Bieber’s official site and his spokesperson had not returned Billboard‘s request for comment. Last week Ticketmaster’s site listed all the 2023 Justice dates as canceled just as Bieber was slated to pick things up again with a March 2 date in Dublin.

In June, Bieber told fans that he would take a break from the road after one month of dates because of the effects of the neurological disorder Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, which left his face partially paralyzed. “As a result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour,” he wrote in a message to fans at the time. Bieber went on to explain that after taking some time to rest and consult with his family and doctors, he went ahead with the European leg of his tour.

“After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now,” he explained about how he felt after completing his Rock in Rio set in September. “So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better.”

He got back on the stage a month later, but after just six shows he said he need to take a break again. The AEG Presents-promoted Justice tour was Bieber’s first global outing since the 2016-2017 Purpose World Tour. It was unclear at press time if Bieber’s tour cancelation was related to his recovery from Ramsay-Hunt.

Lionel Richie is going on tour this summer, and wants fans to sing along, all night long. On Monday (March 6), the four-time Grammy winner announced a series of North American tour dates for 2023, and Earth, Wind & Fire will be joining him as the special guests for the trek.
