Lionel Richie may be 73 years old but he can still go “All Night Long”…well, kinda.
On Tuesday (March 28), the singer-songwriter stopped by The View with his fellow American Idol judges, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer joked about his Grammy-nominated 1983 hit after host Sara Haines brought up the track’s looming 40th anniversary. “I have to really, really say to you: when I wrote ‘All Night Long,’ it was truly all night long. Now my ‘All Night Long’ is down to a fierce 15 minutes. But don’t worry about it, we’ll talk about that later.”
“Is this show live? Is this show live?” a wide-eyed Perry asked over the hosts’ laughter before offering her co-star a handshake and adding, “15 minutes? That’s long, bud!”(Richie also got an uncertain congratulations from Bryan.)
Richie then leaned further into the joke, quipping, “And don’t you forget that, all right?” before Perry jumped into loudly add, “As long as it’s not four times a night, you know, seven days a week!”
Bedroom jokes aside, the trio of judges also opened up about the newest season of Idol, with Richie explaining that they’re never looking for “just another singer” during the audition rounds of the show. “We’re looking for characters, we’re looking for people who have unique qualities,” he continued. “Originality. For example, it’s not karaoke. We’re looking for, what’s the unique thing you have?”
American Idol is currently airing Sunday and Monday nights at 8 p.m. on ABC. Watch the entire interview below.
Like Jennifer Hudson, country icon Reba McEntire counts herself as a major Aretha Franklin fan — so much so, that the 68-year-old gushed over how much she loves Franklin during the Tuesday (March 28) episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show.

“You covered Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’ in 1980?,” Hudson asked the country star, who sang Franklin’s signature hit at the 1988 CMA Awards. “How did that come about?”
McEntire said the answer was simple, “I like the song. I love the song, I love Aretha.” The three-time Grammy winner also shared an anecdote about an encounter she had with the late Queen of Soul. “I got to meet her, she scared me to death, I wouldn’t even go up to talk to her,” McEntire said, with the American Idol alum adding, “Yeah that scared me too… I got to meet her in Washington, D.C. at Christmas in Washington, and she’s just amazing.”
The pair then paid tribute to their love and respect for Aretha in the most appropriate way — by covering Franklin’s signature 1967 single, “Respect.”
“What you want, baby, I got it/ What you need, do you know I got it?/ All I want you to do for me, is show me some respect when you get home/ Hey, baby/ Give it to me/ Hey baby,” McEntire kicked off the track, with Hudson providing an assist with some ad libbed vocals backgrounds.
Hudson then hopped on the second verse with ease — unsurprisingly, considering she played Franklin in the 2021 biopic, Respect. “I ain’t gon’ do you wrong while you’re gone/ Ain’t gon’ do you wrong ’cause I don’t wanna/ All I’m askin’ is for a little respect when you come home/ Baby/ When you get home/ Yeah,” she sang.

Rihanna‘s belly is currently home to Baby No. 2 and some delicious pasta. In a pair of Tuesday (March 28) Instagram Stories, the pop star showed off both her baby bump and her Italian dinner for the night.
Ri, who appears to be craving some pasta during her pregnancy, first snapped a picture of a perfect-looking spaghetti dish, followed by a photo of what looks to be half-eaten gnocchi. In both photos, her uncovered tummy pokes into the frame, giving fans a peek at the Fenty mogul’s high-profile second pregnancy.
“Drive-tru,” she labeled the first pasta dish. The second snap was accompanied by an emoji of a mama bottle-feeding a baby.
The little one on the way will be Rihanna’s second child with A$AP Rocky, with whom she shares a 10-month-old son. The “Love On the Brain” singer first announced her second pregnancy in the most Rihanna way possible: by wordlessly debuting her bump to more than 118 million viewers at the beginning of her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in February.
It was the first of several A-list events attended by Rihanna and her baby-to-be. Earlier in March, she stepped out with A$AP at the 2023 Academy Awards, again showing off her bare baby bump in a shawl and low-waisted skirt. The couple adorably posed for a few photos together, some of which captured the sweet moment Rocky cradled his partner’s baby bump. The superstar also performed her new song “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the ceremony; the track was nominated for best original song, but lost to RRR‘s “Naatu Naatu.”
The only person missing from the growing family’s big night out was Ri’s son, who apparently wasn’t too happy to be left at home that evening. The nine-time Grammy winner posted an adorable photo of her baby boy shedding some tears before the Oscars, captioning her Instagram post, “my son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him.”

Taylor Swift had a jovial backstage run-in with none other than Lenny Kravitz on Monday night at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
“The moment Lenny Kravitz and Taylor Swift met backstage,” the official iHeartRadio account wrote on the behind-the-scenes video on TikTok. In the clip, fans can spot Ice Spice shuffling past before Kravitz stops Swift for a chat.
“Taylor! Girl!” he calls out as the pair hug, with the “Lavender Haze” singer telling the host, “You did amazing!”
From there, Kravitz jokes that the superstar just might have pilfered her sequined, hooded look directly from his flamboyant wardrobe. “OK, you went in my closet, huh? You went in my closet,” he quips while Swift volleys back, “Yeah, absolutely. I was just inspired by you, I was like, ‘My favorite color is…’” before the video cuts out.
While Kravitz MC’d the evening’s star-studded ceremony, Swift took home six awards out of her eight total nominations, including song of the year and best lyrics (for “Anti-Hero”), TikTok bop of the year (for fan fave “Bejeweled”), favorite use of a sample (for using her own “Out of the Woods” in Midnights album cut “Question…?”), pop album of the year (for Midnights) and the special honor of this year’s iHeartRadio Innovator Award.
Accepting the latter award, the superstar spoke about her own trial-by-error process of coming up with new ideas. “I never a single time woke up in the morning and said, ‘You know what I’m gonna do today? I’m gonna innovate stuff,’” she said. “What I did do was make the right decisions for me. People want an example of something working before, but I think the coolest ideas, moves and choices are new ones, ones that set a new precedent. I’m so thankful because my fans have backed me up on things like switching genres or re-recording all my old music.”

Lovato’s relationship with Jutes marks their first public romance since breaking off their engagement to actor Max Ehrich in September 2020. For his part, tattooed indie artist Jutes helped write multiple songs on Lovato’s most recent album Holy Fvck, including second single “Substance” as well as “Happy Ending” and “City of Angels.”
The couple made their relationship Instagram official in August 2022, just days after Lovato coyly gushed about Jutes in an interview with Extra. “This person inspired so much of the album because … well, it’s just, like, the way that it makes you feel,” she shared. “And also that connection with someone that you have that you know is going to last forever is so special and so important. But most importantly, you have to find someone that’s your best friend, that makes you laugh. Laughing is so important to me. And I’m just, like, constantly laughing.”
Happy birthday, Lady Gaga! The superstar turned 37 years old on Tuesday (March 28).
Throughout her illustrious career, Mother Monster has been no stranger to the Billboard charts, particularly the all-genre Hot 100 songs chart. She has 36 songs that have made the tally in total, along with 17 top 10 hits. Of those 17, she achieved an impressive five No. 1 tracks, including her first-ever chart topper, 2008’s “Just Dance.”
Since then, 2008’s “Poker Face;” 2011’s “Born This Way;” her 2018 A Star Is Born collaboration with Bradley Cooper, “Shallow;” and her 2020 Ariana Grande team-up “Rain on Me” have all topped the Hot 100.

Jisoo of BLACKPINK unveiled a new look at the upcoming music video for her debut solo single “Flowers” on Tuesday (March 28).
The snippet finds the BLACKPINK member donning a stunning array of colorful, floral-inspired looks that fit perfectly in line with the title of the song, which is due out March 31 via YG Entertainment as part of her debut solo release ME.
After gazing in a bathroom mirror in a casual pink top, the screen cuts to the Seoul native alternately strutting through a ballroom in a brocade gown embroidered with pink flowers and wearing a lacy black top with a matching rosette around her neck. Other high-fashion moments in the clip include Jisoo in a midnight blue crop top of velvet and sequins (with another matching rosette in hand!), a strappy cerulean dress made of small, sculptural flowers and a monochromatic purple look with ribbons wrapped around her arms.
Despite the runway’s worth of eye-popping ensembles, the teaser only gives BLINKs a few seconds of the actual song to devour, with Jisoo uttering a single line in her native Korean before the track abruptly cuts off to reveal her name and the song title against a black screen.
With the eagerly anticipated release, Jisoo will become the fourth and final member of BLACKPINK to debut solo music following Jennie’s 2018 track “SOLO” and Rosé’s record-breaking solo single album R and Lisa’s LALISA in 2021. Meanwhile, the girl group is just weeks away from headlining Coachella 2023 along with Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean.

Dove Cameron earned her first solo hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with her sizzling track “Boyfriend,” but as it turns out, the song was close to never seeing the light of day. The Disney Channel alum appeared on the Monday (March 27) episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed she didn’t think much of the track upon recording it.
According to Cameron, “Boyfriend” was a result of being urged by her label to work on some music.
“I had just done a super small black box theater tour where I was just sort of meeting my fans, traveling around, sort of figuring out what it means to perform live. We ended, my voice was shot and the very next day, my label was like, ‘You have to start working on your album,’” she shared. “So we got into the studio immediately, and we wrote ‘Boyfriend’ in two hours, and was like, ‘This is bad.’ I recorded it in 20 minutes and we just put it away. I didn’t really think anything of it, and then it turned out to be the thing that gave me a surprise second career.”
“Boyfriend” made waves on the charts in 2022, making its debut on the Hot 100 in February before peaking at No. 16 by June. The track spent a total of 24 weeks on the chart.
As for what’s in store for the Descendants actress, she had a small update for fans: “I’m actually working on my debut album pretty much every day now,” Cameron shared, noting that she has written nearly 100 songs from the unnamed project and that the next single off the record will feature Diplo.

The two-minute trailer that dropped on Tuesday (March 28) features Branch and Poppy prepping for the royal marriage between Bridget and Gristle to the tune of JT singing Sister Sledge’s 1978 hit single “We Are Family.” Things are going swimmingly until John Dory (Eric Andre), Branch’s long-lost brother parachutes in and interrupts the proceedings, leading to her discovery that Branch was once part of her favorite boy band: BroZone.
According to a description of the clip, the group — which featured former *NSYNC member Timberlake/Branch, Floyd (Troye Sivan), Dory, Spruce (Daveed Diggs) and Clay (Kid Cudi) — broke up when Branch was a baby and he hasn’t seen his brothers since. But after Floyd is kidnapped by two pop-star villains intent on stealing his musical abilities — Amy Schumer and Andrew Rannells — Branch and Poppy set off on an adventure to rescue him.
The preview features footage of BroZone in their prime singing “BroZone’s Back” (a nod to *NSYNC’s boy band rivals The Backstreet Boys amid a flurry of other boy band name puns) and the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive,” as Branch assures Poppy that estranged sibling Dory “used to be my brother.” What follows is an attempt to get the band back together, with Poppy freaking out about reuniting her childhood faves.
“BroZone 2.0!, BroZone Reunion!, BroZone, here we Bro again, BroZone, where’d they bro?,” she raves as Branch face palms. The film promises the usual mix of pop classics sung by all your favorites, as well as new additions to the cast including Camila Cabello (Viva), Zosia Mamet (Crimp) and RuPaul (Miss Maxine). The returning cast includes Zooey Deschanel (Bridget), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Gristle), Icona Pop (Satin and Chenille), Anderson .Paak (Prince D), Ron Funches (Cooper), Kunal Nayyar (Guy Diamond) and Kenan Thompson (Tiny Diamond).
