Brace yourself, BTS ARMY — Suga‘s next single finally has a title. The K-pop group’s management company, BigHit Entertainment, shared details regarding Suga’s lead single from his upcoming D-DAY album on Tuesday (April 4) and revealed that another South Korean pop star will be featured on the track.

“People Pt.2 (feat. IU)’ Release 2023. 4. 7,” the entertainment company shared in a tweet, featuring a poster of the BTS member peacefully playing a keyboard in what looks like a home studio. Suga also shared the poster to his Instagram account, in addition to a separate post featuring Korean text that reads, “I’m going to see you soon.”

IU will be featured on “People Pt.2,” but the collaboration is far from the first time she and Suga have collaborated on a track. In 2020, IU released her song “Eight,” which featured the BTS member on vocals and song production. As for the track itself, “People Pt.2” serves as the follow-up to Suga’s “People.” The original version of the song first appeared on the BTS rapper’s second mixtape, D-2.

“People Pt.2” will serve as the lead single from Suga’s debut solo album, D-DAY. The rapper will be releasing the LP — set to arrive on April 21 — under the name Agust D. A solo documentary titled Road to D-Day (air date TBD) and the April 26 start to Suga’s first-ever solo world tour are set to follow the release of the album.

Christina Aguilera knows “What a Girl Wants,” so she launched her own sexual wellness brand Playground aimed at empowering women. And in a revealing Wednesday (April 5) appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the 42-year-old pop legend promoted her products while diving deep into her life and career, touching on everything from the surprising age she lost her virginity to battling double standards as a young artist.
Though she didn’t reveal the exact time in life she lost her V-card, Aguilera shared that “it was later than you would think, given the girl that was doing ‘Dirrty’ and all this stuff.” “It’s so funny that I gave this persona because I probably was the last person to lose my virginity,” the vocalist said, referencing the explicitness of her earlier songs and music videos.

“[Sex] was something that was for me,” she added. “I guess that’s why my messages went the way they did, too, because I owned it first, maybe.”

Speaking of her early days, the five-time Grammy winner opened up about feeling misunderstood by the public and villainized by the media when she was promoting her album Stripped in 2002, which she said is her favorite era in her decades-long career. “I was like, ‘I have to do songs that mean something to me and are valid to who I am and being fearless and talking about anything,’” Aguilera told Cooper. “And that includes sexuality! I felt that there was a lot of shame and fear around the subject … so I just wanted to be who I was and make a safe space for everyone to feel food — and make it a conversation.”

“Growing up in this business, they’re gonna see you as a teenager, kid, they’re gonna see you as a young woman coming into your body, expressing yourself,” added the star, who as a young performer was on The All New Mickey Mouse Club in the early ’90s. “They’re gonna see you pregnant. They’re gonna see you go through the gambit of different places and stages in your life where you’re different kinds of weights. It’s so hard to just be inundated with different opinions.”

In addition to reflecting on growing up in an abusive household and giving pointers on her favorite X-rated activities, Aguilera also spoke about why she’s such a fan of her own Playground products, sharing that she prioritizes “defending or celebrating or opening conversations and doors for women to feel safe enough to talk about their sexuality and what that means for them.” “Everybody is so different and there is no shame in the game,” she added.

Ben Affleck dished in a new interview on Tuesday (April 4) about his relationship with Jennifer Lopez and the songs she’s written about him over the years.

Appearing on an episode of the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, the Air star raved about all the facets of his wife’s talent, saying, “Here’s this incredible actress and this incredible performer. And then we’re sitting in the car, you know, and I’m humming along, like I will, you know, to the radio. And then a professional singer goes ahead and sings along and you kind of feel like, ‘Well that’s embarrassing.’

“I do love her music, it’s brilliant and I know all of it,” he added. The Oscar winner also reflected on the tracks in her discography that bear his name, including “Dear Ben” from 2002’s This Is Me… Then and its 2023 follow-up “Dear Ben Pt. II” on the soon-to-be-released This Is Me… Now.

“The songs that have been written about me have been written by the greatest performer in the history of the world, Jennifer Lopez,” he said. “I don’t know if they are exactly about me, as maybe inspired by me because there are some negative things in there. She’s amazing.”

Just a week ago, the couple graced the red carpet for the premiere of Air, which Affleck also directed. At the time, he heaped praise on J.Lo for being by his side during the process, saying, “I love you. You mean the world to me. You’re fabulous, you’re amazing, you’re wonderful, good, kind, magnificent and I love you.”

Kelly Clarkson‘s new music is coming sooner than you think! On Tuesday (April 4), the singer revealed the title and release date for the first single off her long-awaited divorce album, Chemistry.

“‘Mine’ out 4/14 pre-save now,” the original American Idol winner captioned a video of herself from the studio, using a trio of wineglass, broken heart and sunshine emojis. The black-and-white clip also offers fans their first tiny snippet of the song’s lyrics as she sings, “Someone’s gonna show you/ How a heart can be used/ Like you did mine” into the mic a cappella.

Clarkson has yet to share a release date for Chemistry, which will serve as her first original studio set of non-holiday music since 2017’s Meaning of Life. Of course, in the intervening years, she’s also released her second Christmas record, 2021’s When Christmas Comes Again…, and Kellyoke, the 2022 EP of covers named after her popular segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“I’ve been working on this project for close to three years now. I wasn’t sure I was going to release it, but I am,” she said when announcing the pending album on social media. “This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship. That whole relationship shouldn’t be brought down to one thing. There’s the good, the bad and the ugly kind of thing going on. Chemistry can be a really amazing, sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you. So that’s why I named it Chemistry.”

Watch Clarkson create “Mine” in the studio below.

Billie, or no Billie? That is the question. Fans have been convinced for days that Labrinth‘s highly anticipated track “Never Felt So Alone” will feature a guest spot from Billie Eilish, but there’s still no official confirmation in sight.

There is, however, a brand new trailer for the song featuring someone who definitely looks a lot like the “Bad Guy” singer — even though you can’t actually see her face. Her likeness is crawling on the floor with wet hair covering her eyes and cheeks at the 15-second mark in the video teaser shared Tuesday (April 4) on Labrinth’s YouTube channel.

Clearer shots of Lab himself are also featured throughout the trailer, but a warped camera lens makes it difficult to tell what’s happening in the video. At one point, he seems to be rolled into a mysterious room on a stretcher; in another scene, he and a group of men are chained to a weird metal structure.

“Never Felt So Alone” was featured in Euphoria‘s second season, but has remained unreleased since the show’s latest installment dropped on HBO Max last year, unlike the lion’s share of Labrinth’s original songs and collaborations with leading lady Zendaya and a handful of guest artists for the official soundtrack. That all changes on Friday (April 7), when the ethereal electro-pop mix finally arrives on streaming services.

Fans have suspected that Eilish would be jumping on the track for its official release since Lab first announced on Instagram last week that he’d be dropping the song. All it took to send fans spiraling was the “Happier Than Ever” singer’s comment on his post: a simple winky face — ;).

It’s also worth noting that Labrinth was one of Eilish’s special guests during one of her hometown shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in December. The two teamed up that night for a live performance of, you guessed it — “Never Felt So Alone.”

Greta Gerwig’s upcoming film Barbie offered a look at Barbie Land in its second teaser trailer — released on Tuesday (April 4) — which features an abundance of technicolor sets, a star-studded cast and a 1964 hit by The Beach Boys.

Starring as the main Barbie in the film, Margot Robbie kicks off the trailer by saying hello to her fellow Barbie counterparts (Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp and Ana Cruz Kayne) as they lounge on a bright beach. The Kens — Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu — also say hello to Barbie in a not-so-subtle competition for her attention. (Dua Lipa also stars in the movie as a Barbie mermaid, though she did not make an appearance in the trailer.)

As Barbie drives through the picture-perfect Barbie Land in her pink convertible, The Beach Boys’ hit “Fun, Fun, Fun” fitting blasts through the trailer. “And with the radio blasting/ Goes cruising just as fast as she can now/ And she’ll have fun fun fun,” lead singer Brian Wilson sings.

“Fun, Fun, Fun” was released as a single from the group’s 1964 album Shut Down Volume 2. The track, written by Wilson and his fellow group member Mike Love, peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent a total of 11 weeks on the chart in 1964.

Barbie — which, per the film’s official synopsis, follows the tale of the titular doll on a quest to find happiness “after being expelled from Barbie Land for being a less than perfect-looking” — arrives in theaters on July 21.

The Jonas Brothers announced on Tuesday (April 4) that they’re headed to Yankee Stadium this summer for a special, one-night-only show.

“NEW YORK! We’ve been dreaming about this one our whole lives. Five albums. One Epic Night. Saturday, August 12 at Yankee Stadium,” the pop stars wrote on social to break the news. They also told fans who’d registered for their recent five-night residency on Broadway to check their emails for information about how to get first access to tickets via a special Verified Fan presale. Tickets will go on sale April 14 via Ticketmaster.

Joe Jonas teased the surprise in the closing moments of their final Broadway show back in mid-March, telling the audience, “Until next time or should I say, until this summer, we’ll see you!” after previewing eight songs of the JoBros’ forthcoming studio set The Album.

The Album is set to be released May 12 via Republic Records and has been preceded by the ’70s-inflected lead single “Wings.” Meanwhile, the next single, “Waffle House,” will arrive this Friday (April 7). “‘Waffle House’ was born from a simple but powerful idea: When you sit down with the people that matter most, anything is possible. This song isn’t about a restaurant, it’s about coming together with the people you love and making your dreams come true,” the siblings previewed last week about the upcoming track.

To celebrate The Album‘s release, the trio are also slated to perform as the musical guests on Saturday Night Live for the April 8 episode hosted by former cast member Molly Shannon.

If you feel like you’ve heard Sam Smith and Kim Petras‘ “Unholy” approximately one billion times, new data might show you’re close to being right.

On Monday (April 3), Spotify announced that Smith and Petras were the latest inductees into the company’s Billions Club, after the pair’s viral hit single “Unholy” crossed the 1 billion streams mark. This is Smith’s fifth song to enter the Billions Club (following his tracks “Stay With Me,” “I’m Not the Only One,” “Too Good at Goodbyes” and “Dancing With a Stranger” with Normani, respectively), and Petras’ first.

To celebrate the news, Smith took to their social media to share a compilation video of the song’s success, showing off behind-the-scenes clips from the shoot of the music video, as well as viral dance challenges, beauty tutorials and covers of the track from TikTok. At the conclusion, Smith offered a simple message to their fans: “Thank you,” the text read.

Along with achieving the milestone, Smith and Petras’ “Unholy” has been added to Spotify’s Billions Club playlist, which was created in 2021 in order to help fans discover songs that had reached the formidable goal. “Spotify has long celebrated artist milestones and we wanted to find a unique way to honor the artists and songs fans can’t stop listening to,” Ashley Graver, the then-global head of creative artist partnerships, told Billboard at the time.

While “Unholy” continues to rack up streams, both Smith and Petras are pursuing new creative endeavors. Smith is currently preparing to embark on their globe-spanning Gloria Tour, which kicks off its European leg on April 12 at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena. Petras, meanwhile, has been teasing new music for the last few weeks, putting out an image of her backside on Tuesday with the caption “all will be revealed on Thursday.”

Taylor Swift has a lot of tricks up her sleeve, but fans just figured out one of them. Since the Eras Tour kicked off a few weeks ago, Swifties have been wondering how the pop star travels from backstage to the spotlight without being seen before each show — and now, a fan video has seems to have cracked the case.

One concertgoer in attendance at the trio of Eras Tour shows in Arlington, Texas, over the weekend captured the “Anti-Hero” singer’s undercover entrance in a Monday (April 3) TikTok that shows Swift apparently hiding in a fake cleaning cart filled with mops as two crew members roll her inconspicuously to her starting spot underneath the stage. At the end of the video, a door on the side of the cart opens and Swift — unmistakable in her sparkly outfit and long blonde hair — appears to stride out.

“Not Taylor Swift popping out of the janitor cart,” the fan captioned the video.

Billboard has reached out to Swift’s rep for comment.

Fans have long suspected that the cart was actually carrying the night’s headliner instead of cleaning supplies, but now, they actually have proof. The fake-out is similar to a tactic believed to be used by Harry Styles for his Love On Tour shows, in which he appears to hide in a large equipment box rolled out right before his performance begins, with him magically appearing from underneath the stage.

The “Lavender Haze” musician just finished up her third weekend of Eras Tour shows, which kicked off in March in Glendale, Ariz., and was followed by sets in Las Vegas and Arlington. She’ll take this weekend off before returning with a trio of shows in Tampa on April 13, 14 and 15 at Raymond James Stadium.

Jimin jumps from No. 10 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated April 8), becoming the top musical act in the United States for the first time, thanks to his new solo album, FACE, and its breakout track, “Like Crazy.”
The set, released via BigHit Music/Geffen/Interscope Records, debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 164,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate. The last artist to debut as high with a first charting effort was Olivia Rodrigo, whose LP Sour debuted at No. 1 in June 2021.

A week ago, he became the seventh member of the septet to rule the Emerging Artists chart. (He graduates from the survey this week, due to his new Billboard 200 and Hot 100 success, per chart rules).

Jimin is also the first South Korean soloist to crown the Artist 100. The South Korean groups to lead the list: BTS (21 weeks), BLACKPINK, Stray Kids (two each), SuperM, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and TWICE (one each).

Among other Artist 100 chart moves, Lana Del Rey vaults 29-5 thanks to her new album, Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which opens at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 (115,000 units), marking her ninth top 10. Fall Out Boy re-enters at No. 8 thanks to its new LP So Much (For) Stardust, which starts at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 (64,000 units), becoming the act’s seventh top 10.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
