Madonna opened The Celebration Tour in London on Saturday (Oct. 14) night at the O2 Arena. Although the triumphant, hits-filled spectacle was mostly celebratory, the reliably outspoken pop star took a moment to address the war between Israel and Hamas-controlled Palestine before the night was over. No surprise there — when Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israeli soil left an eventual 1300 people (primarily civilians) dead a week ago, she quickly condemned the attacks on Instagram. But clearly, even on the opening night of her tour, the escalating situation and ongoing violence is weighing heavily on her mind.

“It breaks my heart watching what’s happening in Israel and Palestine,” she told the crowd. “It breaks my heart to see children suffering, teenagers suffering, elderly people suffering. All of it is heartbreaking, okay? I’m sure you agree. Even though our hearts are broken, our spirits cannot me broken. Are you with me?” After the crowd clapped in approval, she continued.

“A lot of people say, ‘Well, what can I do? I’m just one person.’ You feel hopeless. You feel helpless. What can we do? There’s a lot we can do. First and foremost, we can say, ‘I can make a difference because I individually can bring light into the world with my actions, with my words, each and every day.’ I’m sorry. This isn’t about lecturing you — but we are all together very powerful people. We can unite in a dark and evil way, or we can unite from a place of light and love. And if we all have that collective consciousness, we can change the world, and we can bring peace – not only to the Middle East, but to the whole world.”

That was far from the only serious moment during an otherwise jubilant evening. The Queen of Pop – whose tour kickoff was postponed due to a hospital stay after a “serious bacterial infection” in June – got candid about her brush with mortality during the evening, too.

“I didn’t think I was going to make it,” she stated bluntly at one point during the show. “I forgot five days of my life — or death, I didn’t really know where I was.” But Madonna said it was her family, ultimately, who pulled her through. “My children were there — and my children always save me every time.” Calling it her “secret” to survival, Madonna said she simply tells herself, “I have got to be there for my children – I have to survive for them.”

Four of her children were, in fact, on stage with her during the tour opener – all of them performing, too. When it comes to family, Madonna does indeed keep it together.

Madonna’s hotly anticipated The Celebration Tour is finally here! The 78-date tour kicked off Saturday (Oct. 14) in London at the O2 Arena, the first of six sold-out shows. The Queen of Pop’s 13th tour encompasses four decades of hits, iconic costumes, era-defining music videos and more. Not only did the set design take a […]

Taylor Lautner was flexing like a goddamn acrobat to “Karma” at a movie theater for the opening weekend of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.
The actor, who happens to be married to another Taylor (Dome) and is an ex of Taylor Swift‘s, backflipped in front of the big screen at a showing of the blockbuster concert movie that’s headed for a $100 million domestic opening.

Tay shared a couple videos of her husband being the life of the party in front of their friends at an Eras Tour movie viewing via Instagram Stories, here and here. She posted the clips on Saturday (Oct. 14).

Other Instagram Stories showed Tay singing along and dancing to Reputation‘s “Ready for It” and “Look What You Made Me Do.”

Before admitting they were experiencing “post-Taylor Swift show depression” after seeing Swift live in Los Angeles in August, the couple attended another show on The Eras Tour. In July, Lautner the actor made a surprise appearance onstage at Kansas City’s Geha Field at Arrowhead Stadium for the premiere of Swift’s “I Can See You” music video, in which he stars alongside Joey King. He entertained the sold-out crowd by impressively flipping down the catwalk toward the pop icon.

“He was a very positive force in my life when I was making the Speak Now album, and I want to say he did every single stunt that you saw in that music video,” Swift said onstage. “He and his wife have become some of my closest friends, and it’s very convenient because we all share the same first name.”

Swift and Lautner dated briefly in 2009. Their relationship is believed to have inspired the Speak Now apology track “Back to December,” which reminisces on what Swift missed after breaking up with a former boyfriend: “Your tan skin, your sweet smile, so good to me, so right.” Elsewhere in the song, she says, “You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye.”

Swift’s The Eras Tour film already grossed $39 million Friday (Oct. 13), according to The Hollywood Reporter‘s box office update on Saturday, and has a shot at becoming the biggest October opening weekend of all time in North America if it surpasses Joker‘s $96.2 million. Swift called the premiere of her concert film “the most electric experience of my life.”

Francia Raisa is up to something, and she’s bringing Selena Gomez along for the ride. The How I Met Your Father actress took to Instagram on Friday (Oct. 13) to tease some “exciting news” coming on Monday (Oct. 16), alongside a series of photos posing alongside the “Single Soon” singer at a bowling alley. The […]

*NSYNC is gearing up to unveil their music video for their reunion track “Better Place” — and they’re showing love for their fans in the process. Part one of a two-part fan documentary was released on the boy band’s YouTube channel on Friday (Oct. 13), highlighting five of *NSYNC’s biggest fans, who know every word, […]

Oops, she did it again. After getting together with two of the biggest stars in Latin music, Britney Spears took to Instagram to joke that she actually had no clue who they were.
Included in a video of her recent trip to New York City, the 41-year-old pop star shared a photo of her seated at a table with two so-called strangers. “Quick trip to NY… I had no idea who these boys were at this restaurant,” she captioned the since-deleted post Friday (Oct. 13).

But wait, who was she with? None other than J Balvin and Maluma, both of whom Spears tagged in the post.

The surprising trio seemed to have a ball Thursday night (Oct. 12), grabbing drinks and posing for a picture shared to Instagram by Maluma. “Who like me in love?” the “Hawái” musician captioned the snap in Spanish.

Balvin, who hugs Spears in the photo, responded in the comments: “Oh God hahahahahahahaha I can’t get over it.”

The “Toxic” singer is just days away from releasing her hotly anticipated memoir The Woman in Me on Oct. 24, which she made sure to promote in her post with Balvin and Maluma by adding the hashtag, “#TheWomanInMe.” According to a press release from publisher Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, the book is a “brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.”

Brit’s night out with the boys comes amid her split from husband Sam Asghari, who filed for divorce in August citing “irreconcilable differences.” The two were married for a year and a half before calling it quits, something Spears opened up about on social media.

“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!” she wrote in an Aug. 18 Instagram post. “But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!!”

BLACKPINK‘s Jennie is the latest member of the group to release solo material. The rapper dropped her highly anticipated solo single “You & Me” on Oct. 6, and later followed the track — which first made its debut during the K-pop group’s Born Pink World Tour — with a live jazz version earlier this week, […]

Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy has seen Taylor Swift‘s directing skills up close and he thinks the singer has the makings of a movie mogul. Swift, who has directed (or co-directed) the videos for her songs including “The Man,” “Me!” and the 10-minute mini-movie for the “All Too Well” has already said that she has a feature film in mind for her next trick, and Levy is here for it.
“Taylor has not consulted me about upcoming directing projects, but I think she has the makings of a hell of a director,” Levy told EW when the mag asked if Swift had asked him for tips about directing a feature after he co-starred as her dad in the “All Too Well” short film. While Levy could not talk about what it was like acting in the Swift-helmed short because of the ongoing Hollywood actor’s strike, he said the singer has an impressive vision behind the lens.

“That list is short. Taylor, the depth of her vision for how she wants a creative piece to be, whether it’s a lyric, a melody, a bridge, a concert tour, a video, it’s profound,” he said in compiling a two-womean roster of artists whose cultural impact is off the charts; the only other name on his list, by the way, is Beyoncé.

“It’s profoundly vivid, and she has the strength of her convictions,” Levy added in dubbing Swift a “generational voice and creative force,” before tying that vision to a philosophy espoused by three-time Oscar-winner Steven Spielberg.

“Spielberg was on the set of a movie he produced that I directed, called Real Steel, and I said to him, ‘How do you know it’s the right shot?’ His answer was, ‘The way you see it, that makes it right,’” Levy explained. “I feel like that’s something Taylor Swift has figured out really well, because that’s about trusting your instinct.”

Swift has won two MTV VMAs for best director, one for the “All Too Well” short film and the other for “The Man” video and in December Searchlight Pictures announced that Taylor is gearing up to direct her first feature-length film based on her original screenplay.

Before she steps behind the camera, Swift is likely to smash box office records this weekend following Thursday night’s opening of her Eras Tour concert movie, which experts predicted could easily soar above $100 million in grosses in its opening frame, instantly making it the highest-grossing music film of all time.
