In a video posted to Spotify’s Instagram account on Monday (Dec. 18), Jung Kook finds his plate-shaped plaque honoring the milestone underneath a pile of his favorite foods — fittingly, seven of them. Among the BTS star’s picks are soy sauce eggs, banana milk, tuna kimbap, shrimp crackers, turtle chips, japchae and castella.
“Producer Bang Si-Hyuk sent a song to me to listen. It was so great. I thought, this is such an amazing song, what if I mess it up?” Jung Kook recalled of the song’s inception. “I wasn’t working on an album, but after listening to ‘Seven,’ I came out of a break. We rushed to record the music, shoot the music videos, and album photos. Since ARMY have been waiting for so long, we worked very fast.”
He continued, “Because I felt the song needed a rapper — Latto has a great voice and cool presence — so, we reached out to her and everything worked out.”
Latto even sent in a clip to thank Jung Kook for putting her on the song and allowing her to “make history” with him. “Seven” became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams in Spotify history, achieving the record in 108 days since it was first released.
It’s hardly the only record Jung Kook’s Latto collaboration has broken, as it landed upon its release at No. 3 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, published July 21, for the highest-charting debut by a solo Korean act. Additionally, “Seven,” launched at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated July 29). The song marked the first leader on the lists for a member of BTS as a soloist, as well as Latto’s first No. 1.

Madonna opened up about her health scare over the summer that led to the Queen of Pop being induced into a coma for 48 hours in the ICU.
“The fact that I’m here right now is the f—ing miracle,” Madonna told the crowd at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday night (Dec. 16) amid her Celebration tour, as seen in a video shared by a fan to X (formerly known as Twitter). “There’s very people in the room tonight who were with me in the hospital.”
The “Material Girl” superstar went on to thank a “very important woman,” named Shavawn, who “dragged” her to the hospital after she “passed out on my bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU.” Madonna added that Shavawn “saved my life.”

Madonna also shouted out her Kabbalah teacher, Eitan Yardeni, who was also in the audience and stayed by her side throughout her induced coma for two days. “The only voice I heard was his,” she recalled.
“A couple of things I thought about when I first became conscious and saw my six incredible children around me,” she continued, before joking, “By the way, I had to almost die to get all my kids in one room.”
Madonna noted, “And I was thinking, ‘What if I left my children?’ That would destroy me to leave my children at this moment in their lives. I wasn’t thinking about me. I was thinking about them, and I was thinking about my mother and how scared she must have been to know that she was going to leave us all behind.”
“I don’t take any of this s— for granted,” she concluded. Madonna is mom to Lourdes Leon, 26, Rocco Ritchie, 23, David Banda, 18, Chifundo “Mercy” James, 17, and twins Stella and Estere, 11.
In June, Madonna spent several days in the hospital due to a bacterial infection. The hospitalization has forced the star to put her massive, career-spanning Celebration tour on pause, though the rescheduled dates are now underway.
Madonna released her first statement after her hospitalization in July, thanking fans for their positive energy and assuring that she’s feeling better. “I have felt your love. I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” wrote the singer.

Add new music from OneRepublic to things you can look forward to next year. The group’s Grammy-winning singer and songwriter, Ryan Tedder, broke the good news to fans on Sunday (Dec. 17), tweeting that he is “working on New @OneRepublic,” tracks and noting that he’s been “quietly gathering loads of songs for 2024.”

Even better, the prolific producer/writer added, “think we have the next single picked 😉 (praying hands, raising hands and heart emoji).”
Tedder has written and produced hits for everyone from Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga to Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X, Adele, Paul McCartney and, most recently, Tate McRae (“Greedy). He has also been the mastermind behind his own band’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hits “Counting Stars” and “Apologize.” The group that also includes guitarist Zach Filkins, multi-instrumentalist Drew Brown, drummer Eddie Fisher, keyboardist Brent Kutzle and keyboardist Brian Willett released their most recent album, Human, in 2021; the LP topped out at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 albums charts.
In the period since, OneRepublic released the single “I Ain’t Worried” from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack in May 2022, followed by this May’s “Runaway” single and September’s “Mirage” from the Assassin’s Creed Mirage video game.
OneRepublic was one of the headliners for this summer’s inaugural Bud Light Backyard Tour summer concert series, a four-city tour that also included sets from Midland, Dashboard Confessional, Bush and Lindsay Ell. In September, OneRepublic released a majestic, re-recorded version of their breakthrough hit, “Counting Stars,” the song that Tedder said in an Instagram post “changed the trajectory of our band.”

Madonna has the latitude, and attitude, to say anything she wants during her career-retrospective Celebration Tour dates. And on Saturday night (Dec. 16) the pop monarch did just that when she paused the show for a moment after spotting Andy Cohen in the crowd to give the Watch What Happens Live host a playfully stern warning.
As you might expect, the reality TV icon had excellent seats up front for the gig and according to video of the incident, Madonna couldn’t resist sharing her thoughts in the midst of the over-the-top spectacle celebrating her four decades of hits. “If you say one more bad thing about me on your show… you’re gonna be in so much trouble,” Madonna, 65, said to Cohen, 55, who could not have had a bigger smile on his face during the call-out.
After Madonna spilled some of her drink in Cohen’s direction, she added, “you little troublemaking queen” while Cohen beamed at the attention from the pop idol and mouthed “I love you.”
Cohen posted the video on his Instagram, which included footage of him laughing and lapping up the attention, writing, “I’m a life-long Madonna fan, so it’s a thrill and an honor to be called a ‘troublemaking queen’ by the Queen of Troublemaking. I BOW! Also – go see the new tour. It blew me away!! What a great night. Can’t wait to go back. #TroublemakingQueen.” He also posted a supercut of all the times he’s honored Madonna in his “Mazel of the Day” segment, in which he’s repeatedly praised her for her moxie and untouchable performing chops.
While Madonna did not specify what comments by Cohen she was referring to, the back-and-forth seemed to be all in good fun and part of the unexpected joy of the tour, which has presented surprises on an almost nightly basis. After initially postponing the outing after a hospitalization in June for a serious bacterial infection, Madonna kicked off the 78-date tour in London October at the O2 Arena.
She rolled into New York last Wednesday for the first of several dates in the city, taking the stage late, but elating fans by bringing out her rumored boyfriend, boxing coach Josh Popper and giving her adopted home town a loving Big Apple two-finger greeting. “The relief – the relief that people here speak my language – the language of c-nt. No one is more surprised that I have made it this far than me. I didn’t think I was gonna make it this summer, but here I am,” she said.
The Brooklyn shows have drawn a number of other celebrity guests so far, including Katie Holmes, Chris Rock, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore and Emmy-winning Ozark star Julia Garner, the actress who was slated to play the singer in an on-pause biopic.
