This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features fresh new music, including fresh picks by DannyLux, a collaboration between Codiciado and Xavi and Rosalía’s highly awaited featuring with Björk and Yves Tumor, to name a few.

GALE unleashed her sophomore studio album Lo Que Puede Pasar, which explores heartbreak, new beginnings, and the nostalgia of first times in 13 tracks. On the set, the Puerto Rican artist is joined by collaborators Danny Ocean, LAGOS, and Abraham Mateo, to name a few, where she navigates with ease rhythms such as EDM, pop, and rock. “Beautifully produced from beginning to end, Lo Que Puede Pasar showcases an evolution in the sound of GALE, one of the most sought-after songwriters in Latin music, whose credits include hits for superstars like Shakira, Christina Aguilera, and Juanes,” Billboard Español’s Sigal Ratner-Arias said.

Speaking of new projects, Maria Becerra dropped “JOJO,” her first single from her forthcoming set called QUIMERA. Sonically, the track — co-produced and co-written by Becerra and XCROSS — is a hard-hitting dancehall fused with R&B elements, and lyrically, it’s about a girl named Jojo, who has a magnetic force and has no competition.

Other new releases this week include music from Maria Becerra, Banda El Recodo, and Majo Aguilar. In the latest New Music Latin poll, Esaú Ortiz’s Discontrol album won with more than 60% of the vote. Fans Choose LE SSERAFIM & J-Hope’s ‘Spaghetti’ as This Week’s Favorite New Music

LE SSERAFIM’s new collaboration with BTS’ j-hope has topped this week’s new music poll.

In a poll published Friday (Oct. 24) by Billboard, music fans chose the powerhouse team-up’s “Spaghetti” as their favorite new release of the week.

“Spaghetti” earned 77% of the vote, beating out new projects from Demi Lovato (It’s Not That Deep), Megan Thee Stallion (“LOVER GIRL”), Bruce Springsteen (Nebraska ’82), Daniel Caesar (Son of Spergy), Leon Thomas (Pholks), and more.

The track serves as the lead single from LE SSERAFIM’s eight-track HYBE compilation of the same name and marks j-hope’s first-ever feature on a K-pop girl group song.

Earlier in the week, the song was teased through a YouTube video titled “The Kick,” featuring j-hope in a Matrix-inspired outfit and shades, surrounded by flashing strobe lights. The clip ends with a snippet of LE SSERAFIM members — KIM CHAEWON, SAKURA, HUH YUNJIN, KAZUHA, and HONG EUNCHAE — delivering the line “eat it up.”

Speaking with Billboard Philippines, LE SSERAFIM shared insights into the making of “Spaghetti.” The song “expresses LE SSERAFIM’s charm that you just can’t get away from, like spaghetti that’s stuck in your teeth,” SAKURA said. “The part where we sing ‘eat it up’ over and over is the highlight, and since each of us members delivers it in our own styles, it adds even more playfulness to the song.”

LE SSERAFIM have been on a hot streak this year. In March, the group’s album HOT debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, marking their fifth top 10 entry and second chart-topper after 2024’s Crazy.

Placing second in this week’s poll was Lovato’s new album, It’s Not That Deep, which secured 7% of the vote.

13 Performing Songwriters Are Nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame: Which 3 Do You Most Hope Get In? Vote!

The voters who determine the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees have a tough choice ahead of them: narrowing a list of 13 strong candidates in the performing songwriter category down to their top three selections. (They also will be choosing three non-performing songwriters from an equally strong list of 14 contenders.)

The fact that there are exactly 13 nominees in the performing songwriting category – nine individual songwriters and four songwriting teams – may be a good omen for Taylor Swift, who has long said that 13 is her lucky number. Swift received the SHOF’s Hal David Starlight Award, which goes to newish songwriters who show promise, in 2010. She would be the first person to graduate from the Starlight Award (which dates to 2004) to full membership status.

A songwriter with a notable catalog of songs qualifies for induction 20 years after the first commercial release of a song. Swift’s first single, “Tim McGraw,” was released in June 2006. The SHOF gala is typically held in June, so she just makes it.

Seven of this year’s nominated songwriters or songwriting teams have had one or more No. 1 hits as songwriters on the Billboard Hot 100 – Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings (The Guess Who), Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell (America), Richard Carpenter (Carpenters), Harry Wayne Casey (KC & the Sunshine Band), Kenny Loggins, P!nk and Swift.  

Bachman co-wrote The Guess Who’s 1970 No. 1 hit “American Woman” and was the sole writer on Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s 1974 No. 1 hit “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.” Casey co-wrote five No. 1 hits for KC & the Sunshine Band from 1975-80 and co-wrote George McCrae’s No. 1 1974 hit “Rock Your Baby.” (Casey co-wrote all of these hits with Richard Finch, but only Casey is nominated for the SHOF.) Bunnell was the sole writer of America’s first No. 1 hit, “A Horse With No Name.” Beckley was the sole writer of their second, “Sister Golden Hair.”

Fans Choose j-hope & GloRilla’s ‘Killin It Girl’ as This Week’s Favorite New Music

J-hope and GloRilla‘s “Killin It Girl” tops this week’s new music poll.

In a poll published Friday (June 13) on Billboard, music fans chose the collaboration between the BTS member and the Memphis MC as their favorite new release of the past week.

“Killin It Girl” brought in 87% of the vote, beating out new releases from artists like Lil Tecca (Dopamine), Mark Ronson and RAYE (“Suzanne”), Zara Larsson (“Midnight Sun”), Brandon Lake (King of Hearts) and Gunna (“Won’t Stop”).

“Killin It Girl” features an entrancing hip-hop flow that conveys the enchanting pull of love at first sight, with GloRilla taking on the persona of the irresistible baddie. “He said I be killin’ it, I said I do this everyday,” Big Glo brags on the lust-filled track.

This new single follows a busy year for the K-pop star, who also released hits like “Sweet Dreams” with Miguel and “Mona Lisa.”

“’Sweet Dreams’ featuring Miguel — an artist I’ve long respected — has a smooth, soulful vibe that feels deeply personal. On the other hand, ‘Mona Lisa’ brings a hip-hop-driven performance energy,” j-hope told Billboard in May.

He added, “Both tracks are easy to connect with, yet they offer a glimpse into the broader, more evolved musical world I’m building. This is just the start — I have plenty more musical experiments in store.”

The BTS member toured across North America as part of his HOPE ON THE STAGE tour, including a pair of sold-out concerts at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in March. He concluded the global trek on Friday (June 13), with a performance at South Korea’s Goyang Stadium.

The “other” category placed second in the poll with 10% of the vote, while Lil Tecca’s fifth album, Dopamine, came in third, earning nearly 1%.”

What’s Your Favorite New Music Release This Week? Vote!

We’re nearly halfway through the month of June, and stars like j-hope & GloRilla, Lil Tecca and Gunna marked Friday (June 13) by dropping new collabs, albums and singles galore.

The BTS member and the Memphis MC teamed up for “Killin’ It Girl,” a tinkling hip-hop groove that captures the seductive magnetism of lust at first sight. (Playing the irresistible baddie in question, GloRilla brags, “He said I be killin’ it, I said I do this everyday.”)

Meanwhile, Lil Tecca expands on his recent viral singles “Dark Thoughts” and “OWA OWA” on his fifth album Dopamine — a 17-track collection which he confidently runs through mostly solo besides closing Ken Carson collab “Tic Tac Toe” — and Gunna presents a confident ode to his own prospective reign over the rap game with “Won’t Stop” and the weathered stone clock face on its bold cover art.

Elsewhere, Mark Ronson added to his legacy of powerhouse collaborations with female vocalists like Amy Winehouse, Miley Cyrus and Lykki Li by enlisting RAYE for the sparkling, flirty pop-soul fusion of new single “Suzanne,” and Brandon Lake makes a praiseworthy bid to be the mainstream face of contemporary Christian music with fifth album King of Hearts, which serves as the full-length follow-up to “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” his 2024 crossover hit with Jelly Roll.

Finally, the title track to Zara Larsson’s own upcoming fifth album, Midnight Sun, is Billboard’s Editor’s Pick of the week with its smitten montage of perfectly curated playlists, fast drives and the all-encompassing infatuation of new love.

In their first collaborative effort, Wisin and Beéle joined forces on “Qué Pasó, Bebé?”—a hard-hitting reggaetón fused with a sugary Afrobeat melody that forms part of Wisin’s new studio album El Sobreviviente 3. “Beéle has something different and refreshing,” the Puerto Rican artist said in a press statement. “I traveled to Colombia to record the song together and confirmed his greatness, not only as a person, but as an artist. This song is special, and from the moment we made it, I knew it had to be a central part of the album.” With a double release this week, Beéle also joined Ovy on the Drums and Quevedo on “Yo y Tú,” included in the New Music Latin playlist and poll.

Meanwhile, Grupo Frontera unleashed their five-track EP, where they collaborate with Carín León, Netón Vega, Mister Chivo and Manuel Turizo. With the lattermost, they dropped “La del Proceso,” a soft cumbia single that effortlessly transitions into a thumping electro-merengue groove. With the release of their new set, Frontera pledged a portion of all proceeds to support charities and the Latin community during the ICE raids.

Mariah Carey’s ‘Type Dangerous’ Tops This Week’s Favorite New Music Poll

Mariah Carey‘s “Type Dangerous” tops this week’s new music poll.

In a poll published Friday (June 6) on Billboard, music fans chose the superstar singer’s latest single as their favorite new release of the week.

The confident, percussion-heavy track pulled in nearly 70% of the vote, outpacing new music from Sabrina Carpenter (“Manchild”), Ed Sheeran (“Sapphire”), KATSEYE featuring Ice Spice (“Gnarly” remix), Addison Rae (Addison) and Lil Wayne (Tha Carter VI).

“Type Dangerous” marks Mimi’s first proper single in years, and it arrives with all the signature flair Lambs have come to expect. “Looking for the dangerous type,” Carey croons. “I like them dangerous/ That’s my type/ I said I love them dangerous.”

The five-time Grammy winner last released an album in 2018 with Caution, which reached at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. In the days leading up to the new single’s release, Carey teased fans on social media with a glamorous clip of herself in a luxury car, soundtracked by a mystery song. The video also showed a license plate reading “MC16” — a possible hint at her 16th studio album.

Since Caution, Carey has kept busy with annual “All I Want for Christmas Is You” celebrations, as well as anniversary reissues of her most iconic work. Most recently, she marked the 20th anniversary of The Emancipation of Mimi with an expanded two-disc set featuring remixes, bonus tracks and a cappella versions.

Coming in second in the poll was Carpenter’s “Manchild,” which earned 19% of the vote. The track is her first new release since the deluxe edition of Short n’ Sweet dropped in February.

Fans Choose Ava Max’s ‘Lovin Myself’ as This Week’s Favorite New Music

Ava Max‘s “Lovin Myself” tops this week’s new music poll.

In a poll published Friday (May 30) on Billboard, music fans chose the pop singer’s latest single as their favorite new release of the past week.

“Lovin Myself” brought in 57% of the vote, beating out new releases from artists like Tate McRae (“Just Keep Watching”), Miley Cyrus (Something Beautiful), Lorde (“Man of the Year”), Leon Thomas (MUTT Deluxe: HEEL), Yeule (Evangelic Girl Is a Gun), and others.

“Lovin Myself” doubles down on Max’s streak of self-empowerment, with the singer declaring, “I don’t need nobody, I’m lovin’ myself!” as warm synths rain down on her voice.

Max revealed in early May that her third album, Don’t Click Play, will be arriving on Aug. 22. The forthcoming set features lead single “Lost Your Faith.”

The album cover sees Max braving the heat within a triangle of fire, her hands gripping its burning edges — perhaps a visual metaphor for the fire-emoji energy she wants listeners to feel when they hit play. The triangle itself resembles the familiar symbol for a play button. In April, she directed fans to DontClickPlayOnAvaMax.com, a site disguised as an online petition that cleverly teased an unreleased track.

Don’t Click Play follows 2023’s Diamonds & Dancefloors (which reached No. 34 on the Billboard 200) and 2020’s debut Heaven & Hell (which peaked at No. 27 and featured her breakthrough single “Sweet But Psycho,” a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018).

Placing second in the poll was Tate McRae’s “Just Keep Watching”, which received nearly 15% of the vote. The fast-moving club track is featured in the F1 film soundtrack.

The 14-track set, released via Universal Music Spain, generated more than 59% of the vote, beating out other new album releases last week including Alejandro Sanz’s ¿Y Ahora Qué?; Jesse & Joy’s Lo Que Nos Faltó Decir; and Los Tigres del Norte’s La Lotería, to name a few.

In YEM, the Bogotá-based group celebrates brotherhood, evolution, and above all, dreams coming true.  The tracks are mostly inspired by riveting rock music from the ’90s, and include two collaborations: “Sin Ti” with Jay Wheeler and “Me Toca a Mi” with Camilo.

Fans Choose MGK’s ‘Cliché’ as This Week’s Favorite New Music

MGK‘s “Cliché” tops this week’s new music poll.

In a poll published Friday (May 23) on Billboard, music fans chose the rocker’s latest single as their favorite new release of the past week.

“Cliché” brought in 38% of the vote, edging out fresh offerings from a range of artists, including Joe Jonas (Music For People Who Believe in Love), Burna Boy featuring Travis Scott (“TaTaTa”), Karol G (“Latina Foreva”) and Alex Warren with Jelly Roll (“Bloodline”), among others.

The melodic new track marks MGK’s fourth single of 2025, following “Your Name Forever,” “Come Pick Me Up” and his recent cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris,” featuring Julia Wolf.

Shortly after “Cliché” dropped on Friday, the artist formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly shared a video on Instagram of his elated reaction to landing the cover of Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist.

“For the first time in my career…CLICHÉ!!” he captioned the post, adding a teary-eyed emoji and prayer hands while tagging Spotify and Spotify for Artists. In the video, MGK excitedly FaceTimes his 15-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker. “Princess, I’m hyped right now! … Your sister’s asleep so I can’t scream, but I wanna scream so loud,” he said.

Coming in a close second in the poll was Joe Jonas’ Music For People Who Believe in Love, which received nearly 33% of the vote. The 14-track project is Jonas’ first solo album since 2011 and features collaborations with his younger brother Frankie Jonas, Sierra Ferrell, Louane, Tiny Habits, Luísa Sonza, and more.

Speaking to Billboard in April, Jonas shared the personal nature of the album. “The music I’ve been making felt really personal,” the Jonas Brothers member said. “And I selfishly didn’t want to share it with other people. This needed to come from my voice in particular.”
