Over the past few months Plies did what he could to help get people to the polls and vote for their freedom and future. Now that the election is over the Floridian is getting back to business and taking a few of his Hip-Hop peers to court over copyright infringement.
According to TMZ, Plies has sued the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla and Cardi B for sampling his song “Me & My Goons” without proper clearance. In the lawsuit Plies states that his 2008 cut was sampled on Megan and GloRilla’s collaboration song “Wanna Be,” which ultimately landed a verse from Cardi B on the remix. For her participation in the hit song, Cardi done got herself wrapped up in the lawsuit as well.
Interestingly enough, Soulja Boy seems to be the first to have taken Plies’ beat and ran with it on his 2010 track “Pretty Boy Swag.” After listening to all of these songs, the man might have a strong case.
Per TMZ:
The suit also names Meg’s Hot Girl Productions, Soulja’s former imprint Collipark Productions, and record labels Universal Music Group, Collective Music Group and Interscope as defendants.
If the suit is successful, the damages could cost everyone plenty of shiny pennies.
We’re not taking any sides on this one, but it looks like Plies might have an open and shut case. Just sayin’.

In a world where rappers were stumping for Trump, Plies had been one of the voices worth listening to leading up to the 2024 election. Following the tragic results, the Florida rapper offered some comforting words to those who are still feeling sick after Donald Trump won.
In one of his signature videos, from the driver seat of his vehicle, Plies told his followers to stay with the fight despite having to swallow the hard pill now that we must endure four more years of Donald Trump.
The Florida rapper even offered to extend a virtual hug to his followers but fell short of providing that same blanket to Trump supporters.
Like many following the election results, Plies feels this country’s character went into the trash; some could argue that it has been there already, and Donald Trump just exposed that.
In a caption for the video, he wrote, “Definitely Want To Get On Here & Check On Y’all & Make Sure Y’all Was Good!! Regardless Of How U May Feel At The Moment Just Know God Don’t Make Mistakes! He Has A Plan & His Plan I’ll Never Second Guess!! Continue To Stand For The Things U Believe In Your Heart Are Right! Never Waver B/c I Know I Won’t! Love Ya.”
Plies has been one of Vice President Kamala Harris’ biggest supporters, constantly dropping videos in support of her and dropping a track called “Mrs 47,” trying to get ahead of what would have been a historic moment if she had won.
Plies even dropped a line of hats that TMZ Hip Hop reports cost $80. They are not flying off the shelf for obvious reasons, so he might want to send them to a nation of children who could use them.

Nobody had on their bingo cards that Hip-Hop star Plies would be one of the biggest political voices on X. The rapper is now sharing his opinion on the platform’s owner, Elon Musk, and his real reasoning behind purchasing the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The always outspoken Plies sees the jig regarding Elon Musk and the real reason he reluctantly dropped $44 billion on Twitter.
Musk bought the platform because he believes in protecting free speech, allegedly. According to the “Buss It Baby” crafter, Musk’s reasons are all political.
Plies Spotting Elon Musk’s Jig
In an August 6 post on Musk’s janky platform, Plies accused the Tesla chief of purchasing it for political reasons and even believes he will shut it down as Donald Trump continues to fall behind in the polls because he is a staunch supporter of the orange menace.
“I Can See Elon Shutting Down Twitter When Trump Continues To Fall Behind In The Polls. He Brought Twitter To Influence The Election. An Before He Accepts A Trump Loss I Believe He’ll Shut It All Down!!!!,” the rapper wrote.
Plies commentary on the matter as Trump prepares to sit down with Musk for what he describes will be the “interview of the century.” Still, we all know nothing of substance will come from it, and we can look back to his sitdown at NABJ and recent “press conference” as evidence of that.
“Elon called me, as you know he endorsed me full throated, a great endorsement,” Trump rambled to reporters. “I respect Elon a lot, he respects me. He told me he is going to have a show Monday, I think Monday night, and he invited me so it’ll be very interesting. A lot of people are talking about it. I look forward to it.”
Riggghhhtttt.
Plies The Political Star
Plies disdain for Donald Trump and unwavering support for the Biden/Harris campaign, and now the Harris/Waltz ticket, has made him one of the few Hip-Hop artists and celebs not out here “Trumpin” around.
His political takes have also made him very popular among Democrats. He is so popular that DNC Chair Jaime Harrison has reached out to him in hopes of getting him to attend the upcoming Democrat National Convention in Chicago.
You can see more reactions to Plies’ observation about Phony Stark in the gallery below.
