The struggle train that is Crystal Dynamic’s attempt at a video game MCU with Marvel’s Avengers is coming to an end.
After two long years of trying to follow its “roadmap” of content, Crystal Dynamics announced it will end active development on Marvel’s Avengers, saying it was a decision it “undertook in conjunction with our partners.”
The sad news came in a blog post called “Final Update on The Future of Marvel’s Avengers” that hilariously dropped with a broken link, clearly indicating how doomed this video game was.
In the post, Crystal Dynamic said it would discontinue support for the game on September 30, which will see all digital purchases end, meaning all those costumes and other DLC will be free.
So we understand if players who have been grinding and spending money on this game over the last two years decided to HULK OUT, knowing they will not be getting a refund.
Update 2.7, which saw the Winter Soldier and the Cloning Lab Omega Level Threat event come to Marvel’s Avengers, will be the game’s last content release. Spider-Man will remain a PlayStation exclusive.
On March 31, Update 2.8 will arrive and serve as the game’s final balance update. After that, Crystal Dynamics will shutter the cosmetics marketplace, and players will no longer be able to purchase credits.
The player’s remaining credit balances will be converted into in-game resources, and all cosmetics will become free.
The Writing Was On The Wall For Marvel’s Avengers From The Start
Marvel’s Avengers has been fighting for its life since its announcement. Gamers flamed its generic take on the character designs, calling them the stunt doubles of the real-life actors in the MCU.
Before the game’s release, the beta did nothing to win over fans, leaving them worried about what would come. The game arrived to mid reviews, with most complaints thrown at the game’s online multiplayer component, which was bare bones at the time.

In our review of Marvel’s Avengers, we said this game could be the Age of Ultron of video games, meaning it would be appreciated later as time passed.
There were signs of hope with the Black Panther: War For Wakanda expansion, but it turns out we were WRONG.
Well, at least we still got Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, that mysterious Black Panther and Captain America game, and the standalone Black Panther game to look forward to.

One thing you don’t mess with is people’s money, and Bank of America is feeling the heat from some customers.
Wednesday, Jan.18, PIX 11 reports that some Bank of America customers are worried after noticing money was missing from their accounts and have taken to social media to voice their anger.
“Saw Bank of America was trending and turns out my account was impacted so happy Wednesday everyone,” one person tweeted.
“I am at the point of a collapse. where is my money?” another Twitter user said.
ABC 7 Chicago reports that at least one person claims their entire bank account was “wiped clean.”
The Daily Mail says some customers are complaining about funds being missing from deposits and Zelle transactions and that customers calling Bank of America are not getting any answers from the financial institution.
Some customers are saying they got a message telling them “Zelle transactions made between Saturday and Tuesday would be delayed.”
The Zelle issue, according to Twitter user @YepItsZak, is also affecting Chase and other institutions.
The company has not issued a statement on its social media accounts addressing customers’ concerns. It has responded to one customer in a tweet:
“Hello. We noticed that we’re currently engaging via DM and will continue to connect with you there. ^justin.”
Currently, the financial institution is trending for the wrong reasons, with Twitter users trashing the bank and wondering why people are still banking with them.
“Y’all still using Bank of America after that overdraft class action and their predatory lending history? Porque?” one Twitter user wondered.
Leave it to Twitter to find humor is some people’s pain. You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

If you opened up Twitter and saw James Earl Jones trending, you can breathe a sigh of relief. It’s the iconic actor’s 92nd birthday.
Since Elon Musk purchased Twitter, trending topics no longer share descriptions of why certain things are trending anymore, so it can cause quite a scare when we see specific celebrities in the trending topic section.
But everything is okay. James Earl Jones is fine. Today is his 92nd evolution around the sun, and we could not think of a better time to celebrate him.
Born in Arkabutla Mississippi in 1931, Jones is best known for his recognizable voice that strikes fear into the hearts of the Rebel Alliance and Jedi Knights in the Star Wars films as Darth Vader.
His voice also brings the iconic character King Mufasa to life in the classic Disney animated film The Lion King and the polarizing live-action film.
Field of Dreams, Conan the Barbarian, The Great White Hope, Coming To America, Coming 2 America, Claudine, The Meteor Man, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, and A Piece of the Action, just to name a few.
Jones also blessed Broadway acting in numerous plays, including Sunrise at Campobello (1958–1959), Danton’s Death (1965), The Iceman Cometh (1973–1974), Of Mice and Men (1974–1975), Othello (1982), On Golden Pond (2005), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2008) and You Can’t Take It with You (2014–2015).
So we salute Mr. Jones on his special day. In the gallery below, you can peep more reactions to the most iconic voice on the planet celebrating his 92nd birthday.

A moment meant to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King, became nothing but pure jokes on social media.
Friday, Jan.13, “The Embrace,” a 20-foot tall, 40-foot wide monument, made its debut on Boston Common, where King gave his speech on April 23, 1965, to a crowd of 22,000.
The statue, which Brooklyn-based conceptual artist Hank Willis Thomas designed, drew inspiration from a photo of King and Scott King hugging each other after he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
The headless monument only features the couple’s arms embracing each other, and it has drawn tremendous amounts of criticism from folks on Twitter and some members of the King’s family.
Many people call the statue hideous, while others point out that it looks like a sexual act is going down.
Scott King’s causing, Seneca Scott said the monument was insulting speaking to CNN and, in an essay published by Compact Magazine, called it a “masturbatory metal homage.”
Yikes.
“If you can look at it from all angles, and it’s probably two people hugging each other, it’s four hands. It’s not the missing heads that’s the atrocity that other people clamp onto that; it’s a stump that looked like a penis. That’s a joke,” Scott said to CNN.
Martin Luther King III Likes The MLK Statue
On the other hand, the civil rights activist’s son, Martin Luther King III, said he was grateful for the statue that represents his parents’ love story and partnership, telling CNN’s Don Lemon he liked the monument.
“I think that’s a huge representation of bringing people together,” King told CNN. “I think the artist did a great job. I’m satisfied. Yeah, it didn’t have my mom and dad’s images, but it represents something that brings people together.”
“And in this time, day and age, when there’s so much division, we need symbols that talk about bringing us together,” he continued.
The Artist Defends His Work
During an appearance on CNN This Morning, Hill defended his work, saying his goal was to capture “the feeling of love” from the King’s relationship and has no plans of changing the statue.
“This is a piece that was selected by the people of Boston. This is not Hank just came and put something. Thousands of people worked on this, thousands of people actually put it together, and no one saw this, I would say, perverse perspective,” Thomas said.
He also points out that the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Washington Monument were not instant hits, and “The Embrace” is another one of those situations.
Twitter is not trying to hear it and has let the jokes fly. You can see the reactions to the monument in the gallery below.

Yes, we’re over the Will Smith slap, but dammit, we can’t be mad at a well-timed joke about it from the GOAT, Eddie Murphy.
Only Eddie Murphy could mention the infamous slap seen worldwide into 2023, and it not be a cringeworthy moment. The legendary stand-up comedian /actor made a joke about the moment Will Smith slapped Chris Rock while delivering his speech after accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award during Wednesday night’s Golden Globe Awards.
Murphy, the elder statesman in his craft, gave the Hollywood newbies in the building some sound advice to close out his speech.
“I want to let you know that there is a definitive blueprint that you can follow to achieve success, prosperity, longevity, and piece of mind,” Murphy began. “It’s a blueprint, and I’ve followed it my whole career. It’s very simple. There’s three things: Pay your taxes, mind your business, and keep Will Smith’s wife’s name out your f–cking mouth.”
Twitter Loved The Eddie Murphy Moment
The joke became an instant viral moment on Twitter, with viewers praising Murphy for his knack of knowing when to drop a well-timed joke that no one was expecting.
“Eddie Murphy would be the only person to make a Will Smith joke that was actually funny LOL,” journalist Sylvia Obell wrote in a tweet.
But if you think that was some shade towards Will Smith or his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, pump your breaks. He loves the couple, noting he did work with Pinkett speaking with Entertainment Tonight in an interview following the awards show.
If you were one of those people wondering if Eddie Murphy still got it, he answered your question, proving that he can still pull a joke out of nowhere.

Source: Future Publishing / Getty / Video GamesWelcome to 2023, and it promises to be another significant year for gamers. 2022 is in the books, and it closed on an extremely high note thanks to God of War: Ragnarok blowing gamers away once again and cementing Kratos as one of the greatest video game characters ever, sorry Mario.Oh, and we can’t forget Horizon Forbidden West, another fantastic entry into Guerilla’s epic franchise adding to PlayStation’s stellar year of exclusives. But that was then. This is now. 2023 looks promising, thanks mainly to games that were supposed to drop in 2022 having their wigs pushed back.Hip Hop Wired decided to narrow that list down to 15 games WE are most excited to pick up the sticks for in 2023. Now, if we miss one, that’s okay; remember, this is our list, but we don’t mind you throwing your suggestion our way.Below are 15 titles we can’t wait to play on our Xbox Series X, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
1. Dead Space
Resident Evil and Silent Hill had the survival horror genre on lock-in grounded locales. 2008’s Dead Space took the fear from those games and perfected it in outer space.
Fast Foward to 2023, the good folks at EA decided it was time to revive the franchise and bring the necromorph terror to next-gen consoles.
The original team that made 2008’s Dead Space has since moved on and dropped The Callisto Protocol, a similar game but at the same time quite different.
Motive Studios has taken over the franchise and promises the remake will stay true to the original but, at the same time, vastly improve on the game.
Based on what he has seen so far, that looks like that will be the case. Dead Space arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC on January 27.
2. Resident Evil 4
Capcom shook the Resident Evil franchise up when it dropped Resident Evil 4 on the Nintendo Switch in 2005. Ditching slow gameplay mechanics, the tank controls fans came to love in the original games for a new over-the-shoulder camera view and fast-paced action, and a new inventory system turned out to be a successful gamble for the video game company.
Resident Evil 4 would become one of the essential titles in video game history, so it makes sense that Capcom would also give it the same remake treatment that Resident Evil 2 and RE 3: Nemesis have received.
Resident Evil 4 remake sees the return of Leon S. Kennedy, arguably one of the most popular characters in the RE franchise. It looks to build off the momentum started by his introductory adventure in Resident Evil 2.
The game arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S | X, and PC on March 24.
3. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Sony is looking to have another strong year for the PS5, which could be easily attainable thanks to Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
We still don’t know much about this game except that both Spider-Man and Miles Morales will be playable and will be taking on Venom.
Insomniac assured fans that the game will arrive in 2023 but has yet to share a solid release date, we expect that information to come soon.
4. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
It took a long five years for Final Fantasy VII: Remake to hit consoles, and thankfully so because that game was a masterpiece.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long for the next installment, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. The game will pick up where the first chapter ended, with Cloud and the crew trying to stop Sephiroth from enacting his plan, and that’s all we know.
The game is set to arrive “next winter,” so that could mean 2023 or the beginning of 2024, we’re hoping for this year because we are thirsty for more.
Like the previous title, this game is exclusive to the PlayStation 5.
5. Final Fantasy XVI
Final Fantasy XVI, the next installment in the Final Fantasy saga, is taking it back to the times of knights, kings, queens, wizards, and palace intrigue, and it looks L I T.
This one will be a timed exclusive coming to PlayStation 5 consoles first on June 22, and eventually on Windows PC.
6. Assassin’s Creed Mirage
With the changing year, you can always expect a new game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. For Mirage, Ubisoft’s next installment is returning to the original formula that made the game a hit with fans.
This game will ditch the Action/RPG format returning to its stealth roots and will be set in Baghdad in the 9th century, and will follow the assassin Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character you met in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
Get ready to assassinate and get your parkour on when Assassin’s Creed Mirage drops on PlayStation, Xbox, Windows PC, and Amazon Luna sometime later this year.
7. Forspoken
The developers behind Final Fantasy 15 took a break from the iconic franchise to bring to the gaming world Forspoken, a new IP from Square Enix.
The game follows Frey, played by the beautiful Ella Ballinska, who is magically transported to a fantasy world where she will be guided by a talking bracelet and armed with magical spells to help her find her way back home to New York City.
Forspoken is PlayStation 5 console exclusive and will also arrive on Windows PC on January 24.
8. RoboCop: Rogue City
Teyon Games made a first-person shooter featuring our favorite cyborg cop, and it looks pretty damn good. RoboCop: Rogue City will have players taking on the role of Alex Murphy as he dishes out his brand of justice across Old and New Detroit while trying to stop a massive crime wave.
RoboCop: Rogue City arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam on June 2023.
9. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
It’s been almost 6 years since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, which many consider being a game changer.
While we still wait for a new Nintendo Switch, we won’t have to wait too long for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the highly-anticipated follow-up to Breath of The Wild. We still don’t know much about the game’s plot except that Link will have some new abilities, and a lot of the adventure will possibly take place in the skies above Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom supposedly launches on the Nintendo Switch & Switch OLED on May 12.
10. Street Fighter 6
Capcom is looking to have a much better launch with Street Fighter 6 than it did with Street Fighter V. When the next installment in the iconic fighting game franchise arrives, it will do so with three modes.
Players can look forward to the classic mode Fight Ground that delivers old-school Street Fighter action, the new World Tour mode where players have to fight their way to the top, and a Battle Hub for multiplayer hands, feet, and dragon punches can be exchanged.
Street Fighter 6 launches on PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PC on June 2.
11. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
Rocksteady Games gives Batman a break and gives players control of Task Force X in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
Technically, Batman is still around, but this time he’s on the wrong side of justice. In the game, players will control a team comprised of villains Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark. Their mission will be to take down the Justice League, including “alpha target” Superman, The Flash, Batman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman.
The supes are all under the control of Brainiac, one of Superman’s many enemies.
Task Force X will look to do the impossible in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League when the game arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on May 26.
12. Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2, the long-awaited follow-up to the 2011 game, has had its wig pushed back NUMEROUS times, so could this be the year the sequel finally comes out?
We hope so.
In Dead Island 2, the action RPG shifts from an island resort to sunny Los Angeles, where players can pick up whatever they want and use it as a weapon to eradicate the undead.
Dead Island 2 arrives on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One on April 28, we hope.
13. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Team Ninja, the studio behind the action RPG series Nioh is looking to shake up 2023 with Wo-Long: Fallen Dynasty, a Soulslike game described as a “dark fantasy action game set in the Chinese Three Kingdoms period.”
We played the extensive demo and enjoyed our time with the game. We can’t way to play more when the game drops on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC on March 3. It will also be a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.
14. Hogwarts Legacy
This might be the Harry Potter-themed game fans of the books and movies have longed for. Hogwarts Legacy will see players taking on the role of a student attending the fictional wizarding school during the 1800s, well before Harry Potter and his friends were born.
It’s an open-world adventure full of all the fantastic lore from the Harry Potter books and films. Whether fans will be able to look past the transphobic nonsense the series creator J.K. Rowling has been spewing and pick up the game is another story.
Hogwarts Legacy arrives on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X on February 10.
15. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Cal Kestis’ adventure continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and he’s no longer the green Jedi on the run we first met. Equipped with new skills, some better lightsabers, loyal droid BD-1, and a new ally and friend, Kestis is trying to survive as Darth Vader and The Empire continue the mission to wipe the Jedi from the universe.
Unlike the first game, Survivor, which takes place five years after the events of Fallen Order, will be much darker in tone.
This sounds like the sequel we were hoping for. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor arrives on Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC on March 17.

Source: Nicholas Hunt / Getty / Skip Bayless
Skip Bayless is not afraid to give his awful opinion on matters and offend people, but this time he definitely played himself.
Monday night, the sports world came to a standstill when Buffalo Bills safety Darmin Hamlin passed out after suffering a cardiac arrest following a tackle on Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, the team said in a statement.
The unprecedented moment saw an ambulance make its way onto Paycor Stadium field. First responders performed CPR on Hamlin as his teammates and opponents tearfully watched and made a shield around him to keep fans from seeing what was happening.
While that traumatic scene was going on, Skip Bayless was on his Twitter account and let off what many believe was the most horrible take and insensitive tweet ever, which is surprisingly still on his timeline.
“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant,” the sports journalist tweeted.
Bayless’ Undisputed co-host, retired Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, took a different tone on his account.
“Please keep Demar Hamlin and his family in your thoughts and prayers. NFL doesn’t have a manual on how to proceed after an incident like this.”
Immediately Bayless’ Tweet caught the ire of Twitter, with many people calling for him to lose his job. “I hope they fire you bro!!! For You to even THINK of the game is very sad,” NBA player Isaiah Thomas said in a tweet.
“On brand! This dude is trash!” retired NFL wide receiver Torrey Smith said in a tweet.
Is Shannon Sharpe Done With Skip Bayless?
Unfortunately, Bayless is still employed by Fox Sports and did show up to work, but his co-host Shannon Sharper was noticeably absent for today’s taping.
Bayless gave what he felt was an apology for his tweet, despite many rolling their eyes and trying to carry on the show himself.
It finally looks like Skip Bayless has crossed a line that he might not be able to return from. You can see more reactions to his tweet in the gallery below.

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg put on a masterclass on how to check a troll, and all she needed was one tweet to make it happen.
Manosphere meathead Andrew Tate f**ked around and found out when he picked a fight with the wrong teen on Twitter. Known for spreading straight-up misogyny, financial scams, and other heada**ery on TikTok, Tate decided to try Greta Thunberg and mock her on Elon Musk’s Twitter.
For those who don’t know Tate, including us, he was a struggle kickboxer before he found his calling being an “alt-right influencer,” who proudly describes himself as “absolutely a sexist” and “absolutely a misogynist.”
He also believes that women “belong in the home” and were “given to the man and belong to the man.”
Yuck.
Anyway, he’s is putting he is now reinstated his Twitter account to use be an absolute d*** after Elon Musk foolish unbanned his account.
He randomly decided to troll Thunberg by boasting about his 33 cars and his “enormous emissions” in a tweet to the 19-year-old, writing:
“Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.”
In response, the ever-so-witty Thunberg owned Tate, and she didn’t need all 280 characters. “Yes, please do enlighten me. Email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com,” she said in response.
With his ego bruised, Tate “clapped back” with a weird video of himself in a Versace bathrobe while smoking a cigar. We would share it, but it’s such an epic fail we won’t subject you to it.
As expected, Twitter loved Thunberg making Tate look minuscule on social media.
Welp.

Only at Waffle House can customers get a side of hands and feet with their grits, cheese eggs, bacon, and waffles.
*Trigger Warning, this story will contain written and visual references to a fight.*
The famed down south 24-hour breakfast hot spot is usually the go-to destination after the club lets out or whatever late-night activities are wrapped up.
The food should be the main topic of discussion with any food establishment, but with Waffle House, the brawls always seem to be on the menu.
Recently a video of a brawl going down in the establishment between customers and Waffle House employees has gone viral on Twitter.
Most believe it was recent, but the person who kindly deposited it on Elon Musk’s Twitter, @rbaylor_74, says he was holding onto it for a year.
Also, many people think the Waffle House brawl went down at a Georgia location on Christmas Day. It was in Texas, and one thing, in particular, has caught Twitter users’ attention.
In the video, a white employee is all the talk because she wanted all the smoke and wasn’t even fazed when a customer chucked a chair at her.
Dine at Waffle House at your discretion. Unfortunately, we expect to see more of these incidents at other locations in the future.

The Tory Lanez criminal trial is underway and about to wrap up. As reporters feed information to those intrigued by the spectacle this court case has become, allowing them to form opinions, primarily false, Megan Thee Stallion, the apparent victim in all of this, has gained an unlikely supporter in Candace Owens.
A broken clock is right twice a day.
Edgeless coonservative Candace Owens, who in the past has criticized Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for their raunchy hit record “WAP,” is putting on her cape for the Houston rapper.
Taking to Elon Musk’s Twitter, Owens blasted the obvious misogynoir Thee Stallion is receiving and shared a clip from her podcast calling it out.
In the caption for the tweet, she wrote, “Megan Thee Stallion has credibly accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in the foot. She turned down hush money and has been stabbed in the back by her friends. Instead of getting showered with support, Megan was mocked. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be in her position.”
Twitter, Of Course, Can’t Believe What They Saw
It’s a safe bet to assume no one foresaw Candace Owens coming to the defense of Megan Thee Stallion.
The reactions to the tweet from other Twitter users are a clear indication of that. “I promise you, I PROMISE YOU, Candace Owens speaking truth to power in the year of our Lord 2022 was not on my bingo card,” one woman wrote on Twitter.
“Wasn’t expecting this but there are some valid points. Megan Thee Stallion deserves a lot more than the laughs, jeers, hate & suspicion she’s receiving as a domestic violence victim. The way she’s being treated by the culture, hip-hop/rap community and the media is vile,” another Twitter user wrote in response to the clip.
Owens is a notorious hater; honestly, if you closed her eyes and heard her taking, you would think she’s a white woman. With this surprising turn of events, her melanin is still present, and she recognizes a fellow Black woman’s pain.
The conservative talking head also claims this is not the first time she has put on a cape for Black artists.
“I actually defend a lot of black artists on my platform. The media just never covers it when I do,” she wrote in reply to a tweet.
“Notice that despite this going viral, there are no headlines about me defending Megan,” she added.
Well, Candace, here is your headline for saying something right.
