The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is nearly wrapping up, with Croatia and Morocco facing off on Saturday (Dec. 17) for the third place title, and Argentina and France going head-to-head on Sunday (Dec. 18) for the championship.
As has been tradition for many years now, a select number of songs soundtrack the global soccer event, such as Ricky Martin‘s “Cup of Life,” the official song of the 1998 event held in France, and Shakira‘s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 World Cup in Africa. At times, the tracks also show up on the Billboard charts. “Waka Waka” peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated July 3, 2010, and Martin’s “Cup of Life” peaked at No. 45 on the Hot 100 in 1998.
This year, some of the tracks featured on the diverse official soundtrack are Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha’s “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)” as well as Nicki Minaj, Maluma and Myriam Fares’ “Tukoh Taka,” which made history as the first FIFA World Cup song featuring English, Spanish and Arabic lyrics.
Below, we’ve compiled photos from the various World Cup official song performances throughout the years, stemming all the way back to 1994. See them below.

When asked to describe how he felt hosting the 63rd annual Grammy Awards in March 2021, Trevor Noah has trouble choosing just one word — but he lands on “intrigued.”

It was his first time hosting, and a year of other big firsts, too: Ben Winston’s first year executive-producing the broadcast and the first time in the Grammys’ six-decade history that a pandemic had upended the show. At the Los Angeles Convention Center, guests of honor were masked and seated at socially distanced tables of two. Shrubbery and patio lights added warmth to the usually sterile space, as the limited in-person audience — almost exclusively nominees — offered much-quieter-than-usual applause for the global superstars who took home awards, like Megan Thee Stallion, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.

Yet the night’s limitations also yielded other exciting firsts, like watching Harry Styles cheer and whistle for Eilish during her performance of “Everything I Wanted” and seeing Bad Bunny gyrate along to Dua Lipa’s “Levitating.” “Nobody knew what was happening, and yet everybody was trying to create a semblance of normalcy,” Noah recalls. “It felt cavernous. There’s no crowd. You would think it would be awkward — but it became less awkward. It became intimate.”

This year will be Noah’s third consecutive time hosting, and he says that experience, too, has made the monumental awards show feel closer to normal — so much so that he has updated his one-word descriptor of the gig from “intrigued” to “celebratory.”

Penske Media Corporation’s new music, art and food festival LA3C took over Los Angeles State Historic Park over the weekend, bringing together some of today’s most exciting music stars to celebrate the rich culture and diverse communities in the City of Angels.
Maluma and Lil Baby headlined the two-day event, which also featured some incredible performances from SEVENTEEN, Snoop Dogg, Free Nationals,  Gerardo Ortiz, Fonseca, Marc Segui, Shawn Wasabi, Monogem, Shea Diamond, Chicocurlyhead and more.
The celebration extended beyond music as well, and featured a series of activities at the festival, including a range of multicultural food, bold art on display, a marketplace and interactive experiences.
Legendary anthropologist Dr. Jane Goodall was also at the event, as she was honored with one of the inaugural LA3C Awards, which was given to people and organizations that celebrate the culture, creativity and global diversity found in Los Angeles.

Besides gifting fans with her powerhouse vocals in top Billboard hits such as “De Contrabando,” “Inolvidable,” and “Ya Lo Se,” the late Jenni Rivera had a passion for fashion. Whether it be on the stage or on a red carpet, La Diva de la Banda was hard to miss with her iconic looks.
When people think of Jenni, they automatically envision the prideful Mexican superstar in her long, colorful gowns with beautiful floral embroideries and matching shawls. Others picture the laid-back Long Beach native wearing a cozy jogger set and baseball cap. Oftentimes, she dressed sassy on stage with leather jackets, cowboy hats, and miniskirts.
Ten years after her sudden death in a plane crash in Mexico on Dec. 9, 2012, Rivera’s legacy continues to shine in her very own Jenni Rivera Fashion store that re-opened in November 2022 at the Brea Mall in Orange County, Calif. The store offers merch that includes T-shirts, memorabilia jackets, and more, running from size small to 2XL, and ranging from $19.99 to $99.99. The Rivera family hopes to expand to an online store for fans.
“She’s come a long way from the first store that was opened in 2013, and it is a very proud moment for us to be able to achieve this milestone to honor our mother’s legacy,”  Jacqie Rivera said in a press statement. “I bet she is smiling down remembering the days she used to sell CDs at the swap meets, and now she has a whole store in a prime location honoring her music career and legacy.”
Below, we celebrate Rivera’s legacy with some of her iconic outfits.

As November melted into December, musicians and other celebrities flocked to the warm weather of Miami for Art Basel 2022. Over the course of a week, the annual art festival became a hotspot filled with exhibits, A-list performances, parties and more.
One of the most popular locales to spot a famous face during Miami Art Week was Meta House, where everyone from Doja Cat and GloRilla to TOKiMONSTA and Elena Rose hit the stage for thrilling performances, while Becky G, SAINt JHN and more could be found checking out the space’s combination of virtual art galleries, interactive murals, a VR sculpting workshop and other “mixed reality” experiences.
Other high-profile soirees included Wayne and Cynthia Bioch’s Art Basel Party, where 50 Cent served as the evening’s entertainment, MAXIM‘s party at Hyde Beach to celebrate their December 2022 issue with a performance by Trippie Redd and nft now’s The Gateway closing block party, which was DJ’d by Anderson .Paak.
Art Basel was also the site of many a launch and collaboration over the week, whether art lovers could spot John Mayer at the event for Audemars Piguet Starwheel on Nov. 30 or Justine Skye and A$AP Ferg rubbing elbows at the EDITION Hotel in Miami Beach for the launch for D’USSE XO x Dr Woo Glass Set. Mark Ronson also stopped by the exclusive Tequila Don Julio 1942 x OJAS Speaker collab launch, while Diplo hit the celebration thrown by Burberry and W Magazine.

BLACKPINK in your area! After launching their hotly anticipated Born Pink World Tour in Seoul, the girl group headed to North America for a run of 14 concerts that ended Nov. 19 and 20 with back-to-back shows in Los Angeles.
Taking over Banc of California Stadium, Jisoo, Rosé, Lisa and Jennie shut it down time and time again over the course of their two-hour set, electrifying the stadium full of ecstatic Blinks with hits like “Kill This Love,” “How You Like That,” “Whistle” and “Pink Venom.”
Whether they were running through fan favorites like “Savage Love” and “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” or live-debuting Born Pink album cuts like “Typa Girl” and “Tally,” the idols demonstrated that their live show has only gotten better and more refined since the release of their debut LP The Album in 2020 and their 2021 online concert BLACKPINK: The Show.

Fleetwood Mac‘s Christine McVie died on Wednesday (Nov. 30) at age 79 following a “short illness,” per a statement released by her family.
“She was in the company of her family,” the statement read. “We kindly ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this extremely painful time, and we would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being, and revered musician who was loved universally.”
McVie was a powerful vocalist, instrumentalist and lyricist had an illustrious, decades-long career as a member of Fleetwood Mac, which she joined in 1970, and later as a solo act. During her time in Fleetwood, the band had 29 albums on the Billboard 200 and 25 Hot 100 hits, including nine top 10s and one No. 1 smash: “Dreams” in 1977.
As a solo artist, McVie released several albums including Christine Perfect and most recently Lindsay Buckingham Christine McVie in 2017 alongside her former bandmate.
To honor the late Christine McVie, we’ve compiled a series of photos to celebrate her vibrant life and accomplishments. See them below.

For over 25 years, New York native celebrity photographer Johnny Nuñez has captured the scenes of the entertainment industry’s hottest, most epic events with icons from every era. As Nas once rapped, “Johnny Nuñez got all the pictures.”
Nuñez, who is known by his rapid-fire flash and click photo style, is well beloved by the stars he takes shots of on the streets, in the clubs and at private dinners or invite-only galas. He is also the first Afro-Latino photographer to have his photos displayed by the Grammys and honored by the Recording Academy’s affiliate organization the Black Music Collective. Becoming an official Grammys photographer is a barrier-breaking and crown achievement for Nuñez. “We belong in these rooms, we created so many music forms, we need to document these moments,” he says. “I feel great that I’m pushing this narrative and getting our genres into new spaces with our images.”
A long-time grandfathered contributor to Getty Images, Nuñez has introduced many creatives, producers and executives, linking them on red carpets which have led to music and film collaborations beyond his wildest dreams. “I’ve elevated a lot of careers. I was adopted and we were poor,” he says of his family. “My adoptive mom was an amazing connector while selling Avon. She would connect neighbors who needed things for people to survive day-to-day. That taught me that your network is your net worth.”
Getting the accolades for his career is a joy, but being able to open doors for those photographers on the come up is his real reward. “I just want those coming behind me to experience more and gain access to more,” he adds. “That’s my mission.” Nuñez gets the moments you wish you were there for…but he makes you feel like you were there.
