Based on midweek sales and streaming data published by the Official Charts Company, Cowboy Carter (via Columbia/Parkwood Entertainment) is outselling rest of top 5 combined.
The U.S. superstar’s eighth studio LP, Cowboy Carter is all set to become Bey’s fifth solo leader in the U.K., following Dangerously In Love (from 2003), 4 (2011), Lemonade (2016) and Renaissance (2022). As a member of Destiny’s Child, alongside Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Beyoncé owns another No. 1 with 2001’s Survivor.

Queen Bey could lasso a chart double, as Cowboy Carter cut “Texas Hold ‘Em” eyes a return to No. 1 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, for what would be a fifth non-consecutive week at the top.
British shoegaze champions Ride could nab a career-best chart position with Interplay (Wichita Recordings), their seventh studio set. Interplay bows at No. 2 on the Official Chart Update, and should become the band’s fourth top 10 entry, alongside 1992’s Going Blank Again and 1994’s Carnival Of Light, both of which peaked at No. 5; and 2019’s This Is Not A Safe Place (No. 7).

Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts (Geffen) should grab the glory with a top three finish, thanks to the release of the deluxe “Spilled” edition. The one-time U.K. chart champion, Guts lifts 4-3 on the chart blast.
Canadian punk-rock outfit Sum 41 is eyeing a top 10 debut with Heaven :x: Hell (Rise Records), their eighth and final studio album. It’s predicted to start at No. 10, for Sum 41’s second top tier effort and highest charting record since their 2001 debut All Killer, No Filler hit No. 7.
Finally, new releases from While She Sleeps (Self Help at No. 18 via Spinefarm), BTS’s J-Hope (Hope On The Street Vol.1 at No. 20 via BigHit Entertainment) and Sheryl Crow (Evolution at No. 30 via Big Machine) are heading for top 40 berths.

Elbow pushes its way to the top of the U.K albums chart with Audio Vertigo (via Polydor).
The Bury band blasts to No. 1 on debut with Audio Vertigo, their 10th studio album and the market’s best-seller on wax.
The leader at the midweek stage, Audio Vertigo is Elbow’s fourth leader on the all-genres survey – joining previous No. 1s The Take Off And Landing Of Everything (from 2014), Little Fictions (2017) and Giants Of All Sizes (2019).
The veteran British alternative rock act beats Future and Metro Boomin‘s first collaborative album We Don’t Trust You (Epic/Freebandz), new at No. 2. That effort matches Future’s previous chart peak, set with 2022’s I Never Liked You; and gives Metro Boomin a new career best, eclipsing the No. 3 peak for 2022’s Heroes & Villains. Three tracks from We Don’t Trust You crack the top 40 on the national singles survey, led by “Like That” at No. 6.

Completing the podium on the latest Official U.K. Albums Chart, published Friday, March 29, is Olivia Rodrigo’s former leader GUTS (Geffen), which rebounds 15-3 following the release of the deluxe “Spilled” edition. The reissue includes one brand-new track, “So American,” which debuts in the U.K. top 40, at No. 24; plus a further four songs previously available across vinyl releases, including the track “Obsessed,” new at No. 10 on the singles tally.
Scottish alternative rock favorites The Jesus and Mary Chain bag their highest-charting album in 37 years this week with Glasgow Eyes (Fuzz Club), new at No. 7 on the Official Albums Chart. It’s the band’s third U.K. top 10 after 1987’s Darklands (No. 5) and 1988’s Barbed Wire Kisses (No. 9).

Based on sales and streaming data captured at the midweek point, the British alternative rock outfit holds off Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative collection, We Don’t Trust You. It’s at No. 2 on the midweek chart, and should become Future’s fourth and Metro Boomin’s third U.K. top 10 album. Three tracks from it are aiming for top 20 debuts on the national singles survey.

Veteran Scottish alt-rock act the Jesus and Mary Chain could snag a career-best with Glasgow Eyes. It’s forecast to complete an all-new top 3, at No. 3, for the group’s third top 10 title.
Following the release of a deluxe edition, Olivia Rodrigo’s former leader GUTS should spill into the top 10 once again. It’s up 15-4 on the chart blast. The LP, which originally logged a single week at No. 1 in 2023, should yield the week’s highest new Official Singles Chart entry, with “Obsessed” predicted to bow at No. 6. Thanks to the release of the deluxe GUTS (spilled) edition, Olivia Rodrigo should bag the highest new entry with “Obsessed.” It’s new at No. 6 on the chart blast, and should give the U.S. pop phenomenon her 12th U.K. top 10 single.

Rodrigo has set several U.K. chart records in her young career. When her debut album SOUR hit No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Chart in May 2021 in the same week her single “Good 4 U” led the national singles survey, she became, at 18 years and 3 months, the youngest solo artist to snag the U.K. chart double.
Along the way, SOUR set the U.K. mark record for the most first-week streams for a debut album, and, in June 2021, Rodrigo became the first female solo artist to land three simultaneous U.K. top 5 singles: “Good 4 U,” “Déjà vu” and “Traitor.” SOUR logged five total weeks at No. 1, and GUTS completed one week at the top.
Meanwhile, Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative LP We Don’t Trust You should drop the maximum three tracks into the U.K. singles chart, all impacting the top 20. Based on early predictions, “Like That” is poised to enter at No. 7, “Type Shit” could start at No. 11 and the title track could bow at No. 14.
Finally, Irish singer-songwriter Hozier is targeting a No. 16 with his new song, “Too Sweet.” It’s on target for a No. 16 start.

Eternal Sunshine holds off the Weeknd’s The Highlights (Republic Records/XO), which lifts 3-2 for its equal peak position. The Canadian R&B star’s hits collection has now logged 163 weeks on the U.K. tally, none of them at No. 1.

The highest new entry this week belongs to Kacey Musgraves, whose sixth studio LP Deeper Well (Interscope) digs in at No. 3. That’s a career best for the U.S. country artist, and third top 10 appearance following 2018’s Golden Hour (No. 6) and 2021’s star-crossed (No. 10).

Hotly-tipped newcomer Caity Baser bags her first U.K. top 10 album with Still Learning, the Southampton-born, Brighton-based artist’s 13-track debut mixtape. It’s new at No. 7. Baser was nominated for the 2024 BRITs Rising Star award, won by The Last Dinner Party.
Also, Manchester, England rapper Nemzzz nabs his first slot on the Official U.K. Albums Chart appearance with his debut Do Not Disturb (Nemzzz), new at No. 17.
Finally, U.S. rock veterans the Black Crowes swoop in for an eighth U.K. top 40 with Happiness Bastards (Silver Arrow). It’s new at No. 7 on the latest tally, published Friday, March 22.

Closing out the top three on the chart blast is Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love),” up 6-3. The track is housed on Grande’s current U.K. No. 1 album, Eternal Sunshine (Republic Records), her fifth leader.
The top new release at the midway mark belongs to Mark Knopfler, whose charity fundraising single “Going Home” (BMG) is set for a top 10 start.
The former Dire Straits frontman assembled a starry cast of guitar heroes for the 9-minute recording, a remake of the theme from the 1983 feature film Local Hero. The likes of David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Slash, Eric Clapton, Sting, Joan Armatrading, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Jett, Pete Townshend and the late Jeff Beck are among the scores of performers on the recording, which raises funds for Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America.
“Going Home” had briefly led the U.K. chart race, but slips to No. 6 midweek. The original cut, an instrumental, spent three weeks on the chart in 1983 with a peak of No. 56. The Northern Englishman recently sold 120 guitars and amplifiers, with charities the British Red Cross, Tusk, Brave Hearts of the North East and Teenage Cancer Trust among the beneficiaries.

Also eyeing a top 10 berth is BTS member V (real name: Kim Tae-hyung), whose “FRI(END)S” (BigHit Entertainment) is predicted to open at No. 7. That would mark V’s first solo U.K. top tier appearance. If “FRI(END)S” holds its course, V would join bandmates Jimin (“Like Crazy” at No. 8) and Jung Kook (“Too Much” with The Kid Laroi and Central Cee at No. 10, “3D” with Jack Harlow at No. 5, “Standing Next To You” at No. 5, and “Seven” with Latto at No.3) as the BTS members with U.K. solo top 10 notches on their belts.

As it stands, less than 1,000 chart units separate Grande’s seventh studio album with U.S. country artist Kacey Musgraves’ sixth LP, Deeper Well (Interscope).

As AC/DC celebrates 50 years rocking, the legendary Australian band releases its full set of albums on vinyl. The first nine reissues in the “AC/DC 50” collection dropped March 15, powering several classics up the midweek chart. Among them, the rockers’ 1980 blockbuster Back in Black (Epic), their first U.K. No. 1, which rebounds to No. 10 on the midweek chart, while 1979’s Highway to Hell drives to No. 22, against an historic peak of No. 8.
Finally, new releases from electronic music producer Four Tet (Three at No. 25 via Text), teenage Manchester rapper Nemzzz (Do Not Disturb at No. 31 via Nemzzz), and Hastings, England punk outfit Kid Kapichi (There Goes The Neighbourhood at No. 36 via Spinefarm) are on track for top 40 debuts.

It also bests the two No. 1 singles she earned as a member of Destiny’s Child — 2000’s “Independent Women” and 2001’s “Survivor,” which both logged one week at the top.

Up-and-coming U.S. R&B singer-songwriter 4batz makes his Official U.K. Chart debut with “act ii – date @ 8” (via 4batz OVO Sound) featuring Drake, new at No. 18, while California artist Dasha makes her U.K. top 40 debut country track “Austin,” up 57-25.
Also cracking the top 40 for the first time is Colorado indie-folk act Richy Mitch & the Coal Miners with “Evergreen” (via Richy Mitch & the Coal Miners) up 41-37.
