We still have a while to go before Nike finally releases the coveted “Galaxy” Nike Air Foamposite Ones, but until that release date rolls around in 2025, Nike is once again steadily building hype around the Foamposites and to do so have recruited Wale to promote their latest exclusive edition to the classic silhouette.

According to Sneaker News, Nike is releasing a “DMV” exclusive version of their Air Foamposite Ones, and to help create some buzz around the drop they got Wale to star in their campaign commercial, which hit social media yesterday (Aug. 19). One of the Hip-Hop game’s most well-known sneakerheads, Wale, stunts in a pair of the rose-colored Foams while we watch a collage of scenes, which showcase what life is like in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) area where other people in the community are blessed with a pair of their own.
Per Sneaker News:

In addition to playing a role in the marketing promo around the shoe, Wale is also conducting a special giveaway that looks to reward the most loyal Foamposite fanatics. To enter, submit a photo of yourself wearing your favorite Foamposites HERE. The giveaway is in partnership with his music label UMG and not via Nike.
Although Wale has never released an official collaboration with Nike, he has been relied on as an unofficial “first look” source. As mentioned earlier, Wale would often be spotted in upcoming Nike footwear as he wears the standard sample size 9. Although the rapper’s tastes in shoes ranged across all categories, his affinity for Nike Trainers, Foamposites, and classic Nike Basketball was the most apparent.
If you want a pair, you might want to enter the giveaway as these sneakers are going to be releasing exclusively at retail stores around the DMV area. So good luck getting a pair.

Tekken 8 and Nike’s new collaboration will allow players to issue fades in style.
Using the EVO 2024 stage in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bandai Namco announced a collaboration between Tekken 8 and Nike. In the game, characters will rock Nike Air Foamposite One sneakers inspired by Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima.
In a surprise announcement, Bandai Namco also revealed that the physical limited-edition Nike Air Foamposite One’ Kazuya Mishima’ was available to EVO attendees.
Tekken Project Director Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken 8 Game Director Kohei Ikeda, and Producer Michael Murray made the big announcement, dropping the trailer and showing off the physical Nike Air Foamposite One’ Kazuya Mishima’ sneakers.

Attendees could purchase the “shiny black sneakers,” which Bandai says is “a clear, stylish extension of the character who inspired them,” through the Nike SNKR’s geo-targeting feature.

Bandai Namco also notes the sneakers will not be the only product of its collaboration with Nike and promises that more drops will come this fall, and that includes in-game content.
That wasn’t the only Tekken 8 news. The popular fighting video game also celebrated the return of iconic character and villain Heihachi Mishima, Kazuya’s father and Jin’s grandfather.

Heihachi’s return to the game was met with excitement and hilarity because he always finds a way to return, even after meeting his demise in previous games.

Heihachi is the latest DLC character following Eddy and Lidia, and he will be available to players in August.
You can see more reactions to Heihachi Mishima, aka the OG King of The Iron Fist’s return in Tekken 8 below.

1. It’s a good day to be a final boss

3. The only reaction we wanted to see, lol.

Ages ago the Nike Air Foamposite One was easily one of the most popular silhouettes out on these mean streets and though these days many sneakerheads ignore them for Jordans, Dunks, and even Crocs, Nike seems ready to try to reestablish the hype behind its late 90’s gem going forward.

With OG sneakerheads patiently waiting for the re-release of the classic “Galaxy” Air Foamposites next year, Nike has decided to make a new iteration of their timeless creation which also pays homage to a hugely popular video game franchise that also blew up in the mid-90’s.

According to Hypebeast, Nike will be introducing the “Tekken 8” Air Foamposite One sometime in the future, and truth be told, we’re lowkey feeling this colorway and design. Similar to the colorway of the classic “Eggplant” Foamposites, the “Tekken 8” boasts some pretty cool details that will make them stand out amongst the rest and is sure to be a hit amongst video game enthusiasts and sneakerheads alike.

Per Hypebeast:
An iridescent shell kicks off the look, with a thematic print covering the shiny finish. From there, black arrives at the leather eyestays, laces and tongue. Special Tekken motifs enter the mix at the tongue and sockliner branding, while a red “FIST” graphic adorns the icy translucent outsole. That’s not all — a special box featuring the game’s cover art of Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama is included too.
At the time of writing, Nike has not confirmed when this Tekken 8-themed take on the Air Foamposite One will be releasing. Stay tuned for updates as we currently expect it to arrive this September via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $250 USD.

The box itself may be enough to get heads to line up for these, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Before sneakerbots were the monster that that they are today, the 2012 release of the Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy had sneakerheads putting in that footwork and lining up and camping out in front of Foot Lockers across America in hopes of getting their hands on a pair of the coveted grails.

Now after almost 12 years of keeping the classic silhouette in the vault, Nike is set to bring back the Galaxy Foams and though the popularity of the Foamposites have basically fallen off a cliff, you can expect this to be as hard a copp as it was when it originally dropped more than a decade ago. Yesterday well-respected sneaker aficionado and news breaker @zsneakerheadz revealed that the colorway that took the Foamposite to a whole other level is set to return in 2024 and you can bet your bottom dollar that sneakerbotters are readying their merchandise eating algorithms as we speak for this highly-anciticipated release.

These. Go. Hard.

Knowing Nike these will more than likely be a part of a Foamposite reintroduction and we’ll probably see a few other classic Foamposite colorways return alongside these coveted kicks (probably not the Yeezy colorway though).
No word on when Nike is expected to release these but we wouldn’t be surprised if they saved these for the holiday season of 2024. Thanksgiving? Black Friday? Christmas? We don’t know but we do know that we’ll be trying to land a pair even if it means camping outside of Foot Locker old school style.
