Beyoncé made a lot of noise when she released her latest country singles “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and “16 Carriages.” Things went into overdrive yesterday (March, 27), when she dropped the entire tracklist for her upcoming album Cowboy Carter as it featured some very recognizable names and titles.
The Queen B had her Beyhive buzzing ridiculously on social media after revealing the titles on her eighth solo studio album. Not only will it feature Dolly Parton, but apparently Beyoncé will have a cover of Dolly P’s classic hit “Jolene.” That title alone had her followers swooning as they await the midnight release of the album March 29. Though we don’t know if Dolly P will be featured on “Jolene” or one of the many other songs, the fact that this collaboration will be happening for Beyoncé’s country album is amazing enough in itself.
Serving as a follow-up to 2022’s Renaissance, Act 2: Cowboy Carter will introduce Beyoncé to a country crowd that may not be too familiar with her talents, but according to Variety, it’s something that the Houston native was inspired to do quite some time ago after an incident that didn’t make her feel “welcome” in the genre.
Per Variety:
She was likely referring to her 2016 performance at the Country Music Association Awards, where she duetted with the Dixie Chicks (as they were known at the time). The appearance caused controversy in the country community, particularly on social media, and some expressed displeasure at the fact that she was given such a prominent spot at the show.
In a long note posted on Instagram, Beyoncé explained that this incident inspired her to study the origins of country music. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed… and it was very clear that I wasn’t,” she said. “But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive.”
Even if the album is a classic and goes diamond we really don’t expect Beyoncé to get any Country Music Awards for it. Just sayin’.
What do y’all think of Beyoncé’s upcoming album? Will you be listening to it when it drops March 29? Let us know in the comments section below.

It’s been a quarter century since Juvenile released his breakthrough album, 400 Degreez. To commemorate the release of his classic third album, the OG Hot Boy has revisited the project to drop a video for one of it’s standout cuts.
Twenty-five years after releasing 400 Degreez, which went on to go quadruple platinum, Juve has released a new visual for the titular cut, featuring himself alongside Ca$h Money’s go-to producer at the time, Mannie Fresh. Featuring footage of Juvenile’s music videos from his early days in the game, the new clip finds the Southern OG styling and profiling every which way he can while some thick young women bounce to the decades-old track in the comfort of their own kitchen. It’s only been a few days since Disney+ premiered the highly anticipated animated series, X-Men ’97, and already the numbers are showing it’s a massive hit amongst ’80s babies.
According to Deadline, the two premier episodes of X-Men ’97 set a record for Disney+ as it became the most viewed animated series on the platform since Marvel’s What If…? debuted in 2021. In the first five days of X-Men’s March 20 premier, the show garnered more than 4 million views worldwide as fans tuned in to see their favorite mutants back in action after decades of being off the air. Not a bad look for a show that mainly targeted people in their 30s and 40s who grew up watching the series when it was a hot commodity on Fox’s Saturday morning cartoon lineup.
Per Deadline:
Disney defines a view as hours viewed divided by runtime. Each episode of X-Men ’97 is about 30 minutes long.
Also, views across all 5 seasons of the original 1992 X-Men animated series increased by 522% since the X-Men ’97 trailer launched on February 15.
X-Men ’97 is a revival of the classic ’90s animated series. Written by Beau DeMayo, X-Men ’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.
Now that the show is a certified hit, it will be interesting to see how Marvel and Disney move forward as they fired the show’s creator, Beau DeMayo, just a few weeks ago for reasons unknown. Will they bring in a new team to steer that ship, or will they move on to new X-Men projects altogether?
Guess we’ll have to wait and find out.

It’s been a few years since Will Smith alienated a chunk of his fanbase when he slapped fire out of Chris Rock during the Oscar Awards in 2022. But are those the same fans willing to let bygones be bygones and support him at the box office?
We shall find out as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will once again reconnect to bring a brand new installment to the hugely popular Bad Boys franchise which dropped it’s first trailer for the film just this Tuesday (March 26). In the new upcoming Bad Boys: Ride or Die, we find Detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) on the run from the law as they’re being framed by some powerful people who made sure their Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano) died a “dirty” cop.
With authorities on their tail and a powerful cartel in their way, Lowrey and Burnett go on a mission to not only clear their names but also that of their dearly departed captain. Looking like they’re in the latest sequel to the Fast & Furious saga, the two men find themselves duking it out with bad guys everywhere from a military transport helicopter to the streets of Miami. And of course we get a shot of Will Smith running through highway traffic in a tank top with a gun in his hand. That must be in his contract for these movies.

Last year, it was announced that HBO Max would be giving Matt Reeves’, The Batman, a spinoff series starring one of the films villains, The Penguin (Colin Farrell). In the new teaser trailer for the upcoming series, we can see why that was a smart bet.
Source: Macall Polay / Max
Taking place right after the events of the 2022 Batman film, The Penguin follows the classic Batman foe as he rises to power in the criminal underworld of Gotham City. Coming off as a Tony Soprano type of mobster, the charismatic crime lord talks about an “old-school” gangster who was seemingly beloved by his neighborhood. Hoping to achieve such a reputation for himself, the teaser trailer features cut scenes in which The Penguin not only unleashes violence on the streets of Gotham but also finds himself at the mercy of potential rivals in the underbelly of the city that Batman protects.
Though we don’t know if Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight will be featured in the series or have any kind of cameo, we wouldn’t be disappointed if he didn’t as Colin Farrell’s iteration of Oswald Cobblepot seems intense enough to carry this show all by himself. A Batman cameo wouldn’t hurt anybody though.

It’s been decades since we’ve gotten a respectable sequel to the classic Alien franchise, and while it was all downhill after Aliens, fans still hold the film series in high regard.

So naturally fans of the murderous Xenomorph extraterrestrial got their hopes up yesterday (March 20), when we got our first teaser trailer to the upcoming Alien: Romulus. Starring Cailee Spaeny and David Johnson as space travelers who happened upon a space station that’s been overtaken by the dreaded face huggers who “impregnate” victims with the evil lifeforms, the teaser trailer sets up an intense atmosphere akin to that of the original Ridley Scott classic from 1979.
With nowhere to go and basically nowhere to hide, the crew on board are seemingly sitting ducks for an alien race whose sole purpose is to reproduce and kill for no reason in this new Fede Alvarez-directed feature. How this will all end? More than likely bloody and violent. And best believe we’ll be enjoying every minute of it when it hits theaters Aug. 16.

Nicki Minaj is to this day one of the biggest artists in the Hip-Hop game, But can her sister follow in her footsteps and establish herself as a star in her own right, too?
We don’t know but she’s damn sure going to try as the Queens rapper’s sister, Ming Luanli, has just stepped into the music game by hopping on Rakeem Love’s “Do It Again.” She actually bares a resemblance to Nicki in both style, looks and even tone. Adding some rap bars to the R&B cut, Ming uses a slow flow to stand out on the song raping, “My condolences, we lost a real one to a poser/closing this door is the only way that I’m getting closure/must suck to lose the one you love to someone who barely knows ya, but I’m never going back-to-back change my contact to Rosaaaa.”
Whether or not the Barbz embrace Nicki’s little sis remains to be seen, but it’s obvious she’s going to be following her rap dreams regardless of how she’s received following this track.
Check out Ming Luanli do her thing in “Do It Again,” and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

If we’ve learned anything about Jay-Z over the years it’s that he isn’t one to play about his family whether it be immediate or business related. So when Stephen A. Smith threw a tad bit of shade at Rihanna’s Super Bowl Performance, Hova had a little something to say.
Recently, during a sit-down interview on the Connect The Dots podcast, the sports journalist icon revealed that when he implied that Rihanna’s 2023 Super Bowl Halftime performance couldn’t measure up to that of Beyoncé’s in 2016, not only did some celebrities take issue with his comments, but Jay himself chimed in when the two spoke on the phone.
Saying “people who will remain nameless” and “Hollywood stars,” Smith said people were so mad at him that they never spoke to him again. And it had him wondering what was so taboo about his opinion. Ultimately, things came to a head when Stephen A. spoke to the GOAT himself, Jay-Z.
Recalling a conversation the two had some time later, Smith said, “Months later, Hov and I were on the phone. Hov was like – simple and plain, ‘My dawg, you family, that’s family. That’s too close to say that.’ I said, ‘I didn’t know.’ He said, ‘I know.’ Done! In other words, it’s a business, it’s a part of it, you don’t know how she’ll receive it, etc. etc. etc. That’s all he had to say. I appreciated that.”
We don’t know much, but what we do know is that you do not want Jay-Z in your ear telling you how you F’d up. Either personally or in a business sense. Good thing he didn’t say the opposite and imply that Rihanna was superior to Beyoncé. Things could’ve gotten hella ugly. Just sayin’.
Check out Stephen A. Smith tell his side of the story below, and let us know your thoughts on the situation in the comments section.

Eleven albums deep into the game, Dee-1’s been doing his thing in music biz for quite some time. While he may not be cracking any GOAT lists, the man is still living out his dream and is unapologetic about it.
Making his mark since 2009, Dee-1’s been doing his best to make Hip-Hop music that contains messages while trying to uplift listeners. Recently he swung by The Breakfast Club to talk about what inspired him to get in the game and how grateful he is to still be a part of the culture. Touching on his career as a teacher and even meeting Afeni Shakur, Dee-1’s come a long way from his days in homeroom telling his students about his Hip-Hop aspirations.
Here are the 8 things we learned from Dee-1 on The Breakfast Club.
Before entering the rap game, Dee told his class he was going to give up the teaching game to become a rapper and being that he’s been in the game as long as he has been, he knows he’s been “divinely guided” thus far in his career. Interestingly enough he was Fredo Bang’s middleschool teacher and says he was a funny kid but serious at the same time.
