50 Cent‘s son Marquise Jackson wants to have a sit-down with his father following their $6,700 spat over spending time with each other.

During a new interview with TMZ, Jackson revealed he wants to have a conversation with his dad and gain his perspective of their estranged relationship, whether or not they agree with each other’s points of views.

“I don’t even know if a sit-down can actually restore the situation,” he began. “It’s just more so an olive branch. If you’re up for it, I’m up for it. I’m definitely willing to sit down with him so I can hear his perspective and gain a little bit of understanding. We’re both men at the end of the day – we should be able to agree and disagree and it not be a problem.

“He believes that, from his perspective, he thinks I’m entitled, when that’s not the case. It’s never been about the money for me, it’s more so the relationship and for me, personally. It’s more so for the relationship more than the money for me, because if it’s about the money, then I’m willing to put it up to at least make the sitation a little bit better if possible.”

Marquise Jackson doesn’t know what would come from meeting up with 50 Cent, but has questions he wants to put to his father. If money is the way they’re able to connect, he’s more than happy to pay up.

“Honestly, I don’t know what to expect from this situation if we do have a sit-down,” he admitted. “I don’t necessarily know what to expect or what it looks like, but if it takes me paying for his time, I’m more than willing to do that. Maybe we could just gain understanding of each other, maybe we could understand each other a little bit better, and maybe that’s what a better situation looks like.”

He added: “But I can’t tell you exactly what it should look like or what it would look like, because then that’s like me being a kid again and just living in my dreams. You get older, you’re more mature, you start thinking about things, and it’s like, you might have questions. It’s just a situation that’s unfortunate, but it’s like, what can you do at this point?”

Earlier this month, Marquise Jackson claimed the $6,700-a-month child support payments he received from 50 Cent wasn’t enough to sustain his lifestyle in New York City. Following the public’s response to his comments, he took to Instagram to offer his father $6,700 to spend a whole day with him.

“Since y’all think $6,700 is sooo much money someone tell my pops I will pay him $6,700 for just 24hr of his time so we can do everything I ever wanted to do with him as a kid,” he wrote while spelling out “Entitled” with cash in his photo. “Red Yellow Green whatever color he like.”

50 Cent responded by sharing a screenshot of a comment Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. made on his son’s post, which read: “You Stupid @199viq I’ll Take 5 Over There Myself I Might Even Play Some Games With You.”

The G-Unit boss posted the screenshot alongside a trailer for The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast, while writing in the caption: “[grinning squinting face] @lilmeechbmf & @michaelraineyjr know what’s up stupid! BLOWING MONEY FAST 10.23.22 it’s lit ?”

Marquise Jackson went on to troll his father on Wednesday (October 12) by sharing a poster for a parody TV show called Power Book III: Raising Marquise in place of 50 Cent’s Power Book III: Raising Kanan series.

“Nahh who made this?” he wrote. “I’m not stupid I went to private school remember? MY POPS don’t be entitled to your feelings. Ion need not a dollar from u and If you need me to promote your show just say that. Somebody tell starz I got a story to tell we know what the people wanna see. Red Light Green Light 1….2….3 #ItsInMyBlood.”

Ray J recently offered fans some insight into his younger years when he was asked what advice he might offer his younger self.

Speaking to Instagram content platform Dose Of Society, the “One Wish” singer quickly responded to the question by advising his younger self not to worry so much about how his talents might seem to others.

“You don’t gotta be cool, Ray,” he says in a clip shared last week (October 6). “Gangstas and dudes that you think is cool, they wanna see you elevate. So if you do Broadway, you tap, you sing, you dance: just be great. They gon’ ride with you. You don’t gotta be cool.”

The former child actor went on to explain that the desire to be cool often landed him in hot water. And while he ultimately found his way back to entertainment, he believes he could have taken a safer route by focusing on his talents from the beginning.

“All I was doin’ was tappin’ ass, when I coulda been tap dancin,’” he says in the clip, continuing to speak to his past self while also directing the message to others. “Instead of tappin’ ass all day, tap ass a little bit. But if you tap dance, do that the majority of the time.”

The upbeat and positive message came just days after Ray J sparked concern among his fans and followers after a series of reportedly drunk posts insinuated that he was entertaining thoughts of harming himself.

While the responses to the since deleted posts were overwhelmingly empathetic and supportive, Wack 100 seemed to react in anger, taunting Ray to act on those thoughts, adding: “WE DON’T PLAY LIKE THIS ON PIRU.”

Ray J has yet to address the alarming posts, though a source close to his family confirmed that at the time they were made, the Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood star was vacationing with his children and ex-wife, TMZ reported. Ray J has since deleted all of the posts from his primary IG feed, leaving only the videos from his Reels feed.

The singer also changed the bio on his profile to read “OFFLINE.” In addition to continuing to post to his InstaStories, Ray appears to still be checking in to others’ feeds.

On Sunday (October 9), he called out Diddy after the Bad Boy mogul made a vague post alluding to his ongoing war of words with Kanye West.

The inspirational post that irked Ray J saw Diddy saying he was putting everything “Black first” and pleaded with people to stop the “coonin’ and baffoonin.”

“On this Sunday, I hope we as a people stop all the Coonin’ and baffoonin,” Diddy wrote. “We don’t have the time! We are under a state of emergency!!! Unapologetically black first! Because they unapologetically think about us last. But remember, I told you the last shall be first and the first shall be last!!! Take that!”

Ray J screenshotted a the post and then went on to blast him in an Instagram Story of his own.

“Yo Puff– I came to [your] house and told you a couple of months ago I had some issued with certain [clowns]– n-ggas was quiet– now all of a sudden,” Ray J wrote.

Though neither artist mentioned Ye by name this past weekend, Ray has been quite vocal about his issues with West and their mutual ex Kim Kardashian. The beef stems from a storyline on Hulu’s docu-series, The Kardashians, which centered an alleged threat to release new footage from the infamous sex tape made when Kim and Ray were dating.

Since then, Ray J has released several statements and documentation pointing to Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner’s involvement in promoting the allegedly leaked intimate footage.

EXCLUSIVE – Skyzoo has been given the opportunity to pay homage to childhood hero Jackie Robinson by putting lyrics to the baseball legend’s off-the-field success for a new documentary.

Jackie Robinson: Get to the Bag was originally set to be a much shorter project, the Brooklyn MC told HipHopDX. The film’s director, Sky’s longtime friend and collaborator Victorious De Costa, reached out in search of music submissions for a short film.

“Initially, it was just one song, an acapella that we wound up putting some strings and things behind,” Skyzoo said. “And then the project grew and they needed more music. So when it became a full-fledged documentary, Vic came back to me and asked me to make some more music and he said, ‘Pretty much it’s kinda like a Hamilton thing, where you’ll be rhyming from the perspective of Jackie Robinson,’ which I thought was obviously really unique and really different and really cool.”

The full-length feature, which is fully narrated by Skyzoo, is dedicated to the legacy Robinson built as an entrepreneur following his retirement in 1956. The film is executive produced by two-time World Series champion and six-time All-Star Mookie Betts and co-produced by Propagate and the MLB.

“Oftentimes we focus on the accolades of what players do on the field or courts, when the true essence of who we are, is our contribution to building and enriching our communities and those within it,” Betts said in a statement. “We’ve heard the stories of Mr. Jackie Robinson’s activism and contribution to baseball, but now I am honored to help tell the story of Jackie Robinson, the entrepreneur through this film.”

For Skyzoo, the project hits particularly close to home as he spent the first 10 years of his life in the Ebbets Field Apartments, a New York Housing Authority project erected after Ebbets Field — the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers — was demolished in 1960. The complex has since been renamed after Robinson.

“When you live in Ebbet’s Field, you know everything is about Jackie,” Skyzoo said. “Everyday going to school when you walk through the courtyard and the park, it’s Jackie Robinson everywhere. There’s a home plate embedded into the ground and across the street is Jackie Robinson Junior High. There’s murals of Jackie all over it. Even when you look at the front of the projects, the logo for Ebbet’s Field is a [baseball] diamond, so you know what it is growing up there.”

Get to the Bag delves into many of Robinson’s corporate milestones, including founding Freedom National Bank as the first Black-owned financial institution; serving as vice president for personnel at Chock Full O’Nuts; and even being one of the first athletes to secure a check for granting a magazine the exclusive rights to announce his retirement.

“While [the film] taps into the profound mark his athleticism left on baseball, I wanted to draw attention to Jackie’s financial success as a businessman following his sports career,” explained De Costa, who also produced HBO’s critically acclaimed documentary Yusef Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn. “The film’s title serves as a double entendre, signifying how Robinson not only got to the bag on the field, but also the money bag, celebrating his entrepreneurship and socioeconomic influence.”

Despite growing up under with Robinson’s influence all around him, Skyzoo told DX he learned from the film as well. One of the biggest from the film, he believes, is how the baseball great leveraged his business acumen to spotlight the purchasing power of African-Americans in the midst of the Civil Rights movement.

There wouldn’t be a Lebron James when it comes to the financial side and branding and how he’s been able to become a billionaire.

“I definitely learned a lot during the process,” he added. “And that’s the great thing about things like this: you get to learn while doing something that teaches others.”

New York, NY – Roddy Ricch has surprised a group of middle school students ahead of his New York City show at Madison Square Garden.

On Wednesday (October 12), the Grammy-winning rapper stopped by the Middle School of Marketing and Legal Studies where he shared some motivational words of wisdom with the students.

Roddy was also honored with an official citation by New York State Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman for his positive impact on the community.

“We just wanted to come by and show y’all some love and be active in the community and just let y’all know that there’s somebody out there that care for y’all,” he told the children in the school’s auditorium. “Everything we do is for the kids. We here for y’all. I was once y’all.”

According to TMZ, Roddy Ricch posed for photos and gave autographs to the kids while hanging out with them after the ceremony was over. Footage also emerged of the hyped-up students rapping a capella to his diamond-certified smash hit “The Box.”

Roddy Ricch is currently supporting Post Malone on his Twelve Carat Tour, which will invade Madison Square Garden for a pair of shows on Wednesday (October 12) and Thursday (October 13).

As far as new music goes, the 23-year-old unleashed his “Stop Breathing” single which is expected to land on the third installment of his upcoming Feed Tha Streets series. The project has no release date at this time.

Boosie Badazz has shared his thoughts on whether Cash Money had a bigger impact on Louisiana than No Limit.

Speaking to DJ Vlad, the Baton Rouge rapper struggled for a moment when deciding whether Master P or Birdman had more of an influence on Louisiana rap.

“That’s a good one,” Boosie said. “That’s a good one, I don’t know.” He went on to say that Birdman was more loyal to Louisiana, whereas Master P split his time between Louisiana and California.

“‘Cause he even had West Coast people on his CDs,” Boosie Badazz said. “You know, naming West Coast names and stuff like that; so I would say after a couple years that’s when we really ‘Louisiana’ him, like he was the king of Louisiana. Cash Money was like a Louisiana born since, you knew them was New Orleans n-ggas, period … that’s what represented Louisiana as far as gangsta music.”

He added: “I would say at the time Master P when they went to all that movie shit, they took Louisiana to a whole other level.”

Boosie Badazz also noted that Cash Money, with its recent signings of Blueface and his close relationship with NBA YoungBoy, still moves records and has its finger on the culture’s pulse.

“Cash Money still sells, like Cash Money they still doing their motherfucking thing,” Boosie said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Boosie claimed he put on a lot of street rappers and no one in the rap game can compare to his output.

“Ain’t nobody ever in rap history never raised more street n-ggas than me,” he declared. “I’m talking ’bout no rapper in history raised more street n-ggas than me. I done been around rappers. Everybody come around rappers like, ‘N-gga, I love your music.’

“I done been around tons of rappers, they fans like, ‘I love you, I love you.’ Don’t none of them fans come up to them and say, ‘N-gga, you raised me.’ It’s a difference. It’s a difference between, ‘I like your music, I like your song, I like your jewelry.’”

Boosie Badazz also stopped by Drink Champs recently to share more of his thoughts on the culture, which had N.O.R.E. in stitches.

According to Boosie, apps such as Instagram, Twitter, TikTok are a great tool to make some cash, but otherwise they “fucked up everything.”

“Social media fucked up everything,” Boosie Badazz said. “It made more avenues for money, but it fucked up everything. Marriages, everything. At first, your bitch just used to see the n-ggas at work, you and that’s it and then come home. That’s all she had to look at. Now she got about 30,000 n-ggas to look at for when you don’t act right.”

Freddie Gibbs has attained new career heights with the release of his latest album, $oul $old $eparately, but the recording process marked a much heavier time in his life.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, the rapper revealed his fifth studio album was recorded at a point when he was facing turmoil in several different parts of his life. But one specific collaborator and their session was the turning point that led him to the finish line.

“When I was recording the album, I was in a real dark place,” Freddie Gibbs said. “I was going through a lot of stuff, getting in fights, I had street stuff going on, homies getting killed; legal stuff, you know? And I was putting all of that into the record. And then when DJ Paul came in there, he really cheered me up. He really lifted my spirits to help me finish the album in the correct fashion.

“That was a crazy studio session, I love DJ Paul. That session really brightened everything up. He came in and he was just happy, the song was fun, and it was just like, ‘Damn.’”

The two collaborated on “PYS,” which is also produced by the Three 6 Mafia co-founder. The mid-tempo ode to success places DJ Paul among nine other high-profile features, including Offset, Moneybagg Yo, Rick Ross, Pusha T and Raekwon.

The admission may not come as a surprise to fans, as Freddie Gibbs is known for being transparent through his music. Elsewhere during the interview, he spoke about one of the most poignant songs on the project, “Grandma’s Stove.”

While the song recently made headlines for what many felt was a slight to his son’s mother, the track also finds the rapper addressing some of the darker points in his life. Among lines about his street life, his father’s battle with cancer and the impact Pop Smoke‘s death had on him, Gibbs openly admits to thoughts of ending his life.

“That [song] was like a suicide note, to be honest,” he said during the morning show stop. “So it’s better that stuff like that go on a record instead of a real suicide. Music is therapeutic for me. I don’t really like therapy like that.”

He went on to explain how the music business can get redundant, forcing him to find inspiration elsewhere. One such outlet has been acting: 2021 found the rapper starring in the independent film Down With The King. And Gibbs plans to delve further into that space.

“Acting is cool, but I wanna attack the film world the same way I attack the music,” he said. “I wanna create things, I wanna be a producer, I wanna be a director.”
