Images of Samsung’s New Flagship Smartphone The Galaxy S23 Have Leaked

No surprise, images of the Samsung Galaxy S23 have leaked.

Ahead of Samsung’s upcoming in-person Unpacked event on February 1, images of the Galaxy S23 are now on the web. The renders of Samsung’s next flagship smartphone came courtesy of WinFuture and reveals the smartphone’s new design and color options.

The photos are official and are not fan-made renders based on previous Galaxy smartphone models, according to WinFuture’s Roland Quandt.

According to the images, the Galaxy S23 will ditch the raised camera notch found on the S22, and the phone’s triple camera system protrudes out of the device’s casing. The S23’s casing will keep the metal frame over glass combination Galaxy users have come to expect and will be available in four colors: black, white, green, and pinkish-lilac.

The exact specifications of the Galaxy S23 are still unknown. Still, according to rumors, Galaxy fans can look forward to a brighter OLED display, a higher resolution camera sensor, and better low-light performance.

The devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The Galaxy S23 comes after Samsung’s latest offerings in its foldable flagship options, the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, the Galaxy Buds2, Galaxy Watch5, and Watch5 Pro.

Damar Hamlin Released From Hospital To Parents’ Home, Continues Recovery

It’s been roughly a week and a half since Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collided with Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins and collapsed during the first quarter of the game. The collision, resulting in Hamlin being rushed to the hospital where he remained in critical condition earlier this month. Since the terrifying event occurred, Hamlin has made “substantial improvement” in recovering from his severe injury, and now, he has been released from the hospital.

“We have completed a series of tests and evaluations, and in consultation with the team physicians, we are confident that Damar [Hamlin] can be safely discharged to continue his rehabilitation at home and with the Bills,” a medical care team at the Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute said in a statement published Wednesday.

According to BuzzFeed News, Hamlin, who had suffered cardiac arrest due to his injury, was admitted to the Buffalo hospital on Monday after being released from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he began his recovery.

Who knows when or if the 24-year-old will return to the NFL now that he appears to be on the mend—and, really, who cares? It’s just really great to see Hamlin well on the road to recovery after football fans everywhere watched his horrific collapse on national television. 

“We’re grateful, first and foremost, that he’s home with his parents and his brother, which is great,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said at a press conference Wednesday. “His health is first and foremost on our mind as far as his situation goes. And then when he feels ready, we’ll welcome him back.”

Yeah, take your time, Damar Hamlin. We all just want you alive and well!

The Kid LAROI Unveils ‘The First Time’ Album Trailer

The Kid LAROI introduced fans to his new musical era on Thursday (Jan. 12) with a trailer teasing his sophomore album, The First Time.

In the 30-second teaser, the 19-year-old star’s voice is heard over a series of vintage looking clips of everyday life, saying, “You never forget the first time. The first time you fall in love, the first time you get caught, the first time you feel shame, the first real kiss.”

Over the video, an upbeat new song is heard, presumably “The First Song,” which will be dropping on Thursday (Jan. 19). The album, meanwhile, doesn’t have an official release date but is “coming soon.” The upcoming release is a follow-up to LAROI’s 2020 debut, F*ck Love.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders Bans Word “Latinx”

Only a week into her run as Arkansas governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders is already doing the most. She has banned the word Latinx.

As spotted on Raw Story the former White House Press Secretary has signed several executive orders for her state. Within hours of being sworn in she has formally forbidden the use of the term Latinx by any of the state’s agencies. Therefore all Arkansas state controlled communications will rely on the words “Latino,” “Latina” or “Hispanic.”

The official Arkansas website details her reasoning as to which “Ethnically insensitive and pejorative language has no place in official government documents or government employee titles”. The order also reads “The government has a responsibility to respect its citizens and use ethnically appropriate language, particularly when referring to ethnic minorities”. Ed Morales, author of Latinx: The New Force in American Politics and Culture, tells NBC News he thinks this is a move to pander to her “Anti-Woke” constituency. “It is something that seems to be tied to things that they object to, which is really anything that prioritizes marginalized people and marginalized points of view,” he said.

In addition to the band other executive orders include one prohibiting indoctrination and critical race theory in schools and another order that aims to reduce government waste and ensure that tax dollars are spent wisely by implementing a hiring freeze throughout all state agencies.

Naomi Osaka Announces Pregnancy And Tennis Break

After withdrawing from the upcoming Australian Open, Naomi Osaka announced that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Cordae.

On Wednesday (Jan. 11), the tennis star shared a statement in Japanese and English through social media accompanied by a photo of an ultrasound with the caption, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.” In the statement shared from her notes app, the four-time Grand Slam champion said: “These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to.”

She continued: “I realize that life is so short, and I don’t take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom’, haha. 2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me, and I hope I’ll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I’ll be at Aus 2024.” Osaka signed off, “Love you all infinitely.”

Osaka withdrew from this year’s Australian Open, an event she has won twice in her career. She has been highly open about her mental health struggles in the past, at one point taking an indefinite break from tennis in 2021. The 25-year-old only played 11 tournaments in 2022 and hadn’t played a full match since the U.S. Open last August. Off the court, she’s been busy as the highest-paid female athlete, which included starting her own talent agency last year which signed Nick Krygios as a client. 

She has been dating Cordae since 2019, with the rapper being a prominent fixture by her side since. Osaka dedicated a loving post of acknowledgment after her 2020 U.S. Open finals win, expressing how he dropped everything to support her even though she was “still convinced he doesn’t understand the rules of tennis lol.”

Donald Glover Says Childish Gambino Is Back In The Studio

Donald Glover‘s acting career may be his main priority these days (we miss Atlanta), but that doesn’t mean he’s completely given up on his music profession.

During an interview at the Golden Globes this past Tuesday (Jan. 10), Glover thrilled his day-one fans when he said that his alter-ego, Childish Gambino, is not in fact retired and that he’s actually been working on some new music “for fun” right now, but will soon serve some of what he’s been cooking up in the lab.

Speaking with Laverne Cox on the red carpet, Cox asked Glover about rumors that Childish Gambino may have hung up the microphone to which Glover responded, “I’m making music right now. I love it. I’m actually in the studio. I’ve been bringing people in, like secret people, like working on little things. I’ve been just making it for fun right now. But soon something will happen. I promise.”

After asking him about where the rumors about a Childish Gambino retirement may have came from, the 2018 Golden Globe winner said, “That was out in the ethos. You don’t have to worry about that. He’ll be back. He’s here right now.”

Well, Glover did say back in 2017 that he planned on retiring his Childish Gambino alter-ego, but then in 2018 returned with “This Is America” and continued on with his music career.

Kelsea Ballerini Reveals New Heartfirst Tour Dates

Kelsea Ballerini has added nine new concert dates to her Heartfirst Tour, beginning March 6 in Toronto, Ontario, and running through March 18 in Pittsburgh, Penn. The new dates include stops in Milwaukee, Detroit and Atlantic City. Opening for Ballerini will be Georgia Webster.

Ballerini not only has her own headlining shows in the works for 2023, but she’s also opening for some key tours this year, including Kenny Chesney’s I Go Back Tour and The Judds: The Final Tour.

In September 2022, Ballerini released what is perhaps her most personal album to date with Subject to Change (via Black River Entertainment), including her current single, “If You Go Down (I’m Going Down Too).”

The country star welcomed several female collaborators for the project, including Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, a co-writer on the album’s title “Subject to Change” and the tour’s namesake, “Heartfirst.” Alysa Vanderheym is also a co-producer on the project, and wrote “Heartfirst” with Fairchild and Ballerini. She also collaborated with Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson on the song “You’re Drunk, Go Home.”

“It’s interesting because in the conversation of, ‘Yes, we need more women in country music,’ what does that actually look like?” Ballerini previously told Billboard. “We need more female artists and collaborators but we also need more female opportunities throughout the whole chain of events, you know? I intentionally wanted to write with more women this time. For me, when you are making a record about emotions, when you connect with a woman creatively, you’re gonna be able to tap into that in a whole different way.”

Lisa Marie Presley Hospitalized After Suffering Cardiac Arrest: Reports

Lisa Marie Presley has reportedly been hospitalized after suffering cardiac arrest at her home.

While there is no information surrounding her current condition, TMZ reported that paramedics performed CPR at her Calabasas house on Thursday (Jan. 12), regaining a pulse before she was transported to the hospital. The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department that deputies responded to a call about “a female in her 50s” that suffered a cardiac arrest, though the spokesperson would not confirm if the woman was in fact Lisa Marie.

Just two days prior, the 54-year-old daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley attended the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards with her mother and Austin Butler, who portrayed her father in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, and ended up taking home the award for best actor in a drama motion picture.

“Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me,” Butler told Lisa Marie and Priscilla during his acceptance speech. “Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.”

“I really didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw it,” Lisa Marie told ET on the red carpet of the popular biopic. “I had to take, like, five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and just so authentic that, yeah, I can’t even describe what it meant.”

She added that she was there “to support Austin and Baz and the film.”
