SiriusXM Launches Grammys Channel: Pay Just $1 for 3 Months With This Limited Deal

SiriusXM is celebrating Music’s Biggest Night with a special channel spotlighting the artists, songs and albums nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards.

The Grammys channel, channel 105, launched on Tuesday (Jan. 24) and features music from Beyoncé, Adele, Brandi Carlile, Jack Harlow, Miranda Lambert, Lizzo, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, The Black Keys and other nominees, in addition to music from Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award honorees like Nile Rodgers and Nirvana and exclusive, behind-the-scenes interviews from the awards show helmed by SiriusXM hosts and Recording Academy CEO, Harvey Mason Jr.

The 65th annual Grammy Awards will broadcast from Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The ceremony will air on CBS and stream live on Paramount+.

Photos From All of Madonna’s Concert Tours, From 1985 to Now

Madonna kicked off 2023 by announcing an incredible global tour to honor her four decades of hits.

The Celebration Tour will kick off Saturday, July 15, at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver and will make additional stops in Phoenix, Detroit, Atlanta, Toronto, Montreal and more before concluding at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 8. The tour’s European leg will pick up with a pair of dates at The O2 arena on Oct. 14-15 and will make stops in Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Berlin and more before concluding in Amsterdam on Dec. 1 at the Ziggo Dome. Bob the Drag Queen will be a special guest on the tour.

As of Jan. 20, only a handful of tickets are still available — the tour is 98% sold out — after fans bought up 600,000 tickets in a matter of hours to see Madonna’s retrospective run in North America and Europe.

‘How I Met Your Father’: Here’s How You Can Watch Season 2 for Free Online

A new season of How I Met Your Father is now streaming on Hulu.

Season 2 of the comedy series starring Hilary Duff premiered Tuesday (Jan. 24) on Hulu. The sequel to How I Met Your Mother flips the narrative of its predecessor by focusing on a woman telling her son the story of how she met his father.

Duff stars as Sophie, a hopeless romantic navigating love and friendship in present-day New York City. Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Suraj Sharma and Tien Tran play Sophie’s close-knit group of friends.

Kim Cattrall portrays the future version of Sophie who shares the story with her son in the year 2050.

“We know these characters, we feel a little bit more comfortable,” Duff told reporters at this year’s Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour, per ABC News. “We just get more room to play and experience and find these little human bits in the roles. It feels easier to find and a little more secure this time around.”

Unlike the original — where Bob Saget simply narrated but never made an appearance — audiences get to see and hear Cattrall in How I Met Your Father. The series pilot opens with Cattrall calling her son on video chat and sharing the dating stories that led up to her meeting his dad.

“It’s a sequel, so there’s some Easter eggs for the hardcore fans but it’s a new show with new characters that are going on their own adventure,” Duff told Good Morning America last year. “It’s tackling the topics of what it’s like to figure out your life at 30 [and] navigate the world of dating where everything is online.”

Riley Keough ‘Grateful’ to Have One Last Photo With Late Mom Lisa Marie Presley

Cherishing the memory. Riley Keough shared the very last photo taken with Lisa Marie Presley on Tuesday (Jan. 24) before the latter’s sudden death earlier this month.

“I feel blessed to have a photo of the last time I saw my beautiful mama. Grateful @georgieflores took this,” she captioned the snap of herself and her mother cozied up while out to dinner together, punctuating it with a red-heart emoji.

Actress Georgie Flores commented on the photo, writing, “I love you both with my entire heart,” while Zola’s Taylour Paige added, “I’m so thankful I witnessed you taking this beautiful photo. You both looked stunning that night with our yummy oysters.”

The daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley died earlier this month after suffering a heart attack at just 54 years old. Days prior, she had attended the Golden Globes in support of the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic about Elvis’ life and career, during which Austin Butler picked up the trophy for best actor in a drama for his portrayal of The King.

In the weeks since, the “I Love You Because” singer has been laid to rest at Graceland, though her official cause of death has been deferred by the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner pending further investigation into her death.

In the meantime, a public memorial was held at Elvis’ iconic home in Memphis, Tenn., with performances by Axl Rose, Billy Corgan and Alanis Morissette, and tributes have poured in from the likes of Dolly Parton, Nicolas Cage, Questlove, LeAnn Rimes, Octavia Spencer, Nancy Sinatra and more.

Soon after the nominations for the 95th annual Academy Awards were announced Tuesday (Jan. 24), nominees in the two music categories started expressing their gratitude, through statements issued by their publicists and social media posts.

Here are a few of their reactions:

Justin Hurwitz

Nominated for: best original score for Babylon

Nominations history: This is his second nomination in the category. He won six years ago for La La Land. He has also received two nods for best original song.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be recognized by the Academy for the Babylon score. As soon as Damien [Chazelle] had a script for his wild and beautiful movie, I started a three-year search for very special musicians who could bring their unique talent and flair to the music. I want to thank the musicians because without them, the Babylon musical performances and score wouldn’t be what they are.”

Diane Warren

Nominated for: best original song for “Applause” from Tell It Like a Woman

Nominations history: This is her 14th nomination in the category.

“Wow! This is so amazingly cool. It’s my 14th nomination but it feels like the first. I’m truly grateful for the recognition for this song.”

John Williams

Nominated for: best original score for The Fabelmans

Nominations history: This is his record-extending 48th nomination in the category. He has also received five nominations for best original song.

  “I’m very grateful to the Academy for their kind recognition, and I’m enormously grateful to Steven Spielberg for offering me the opportunity to compose the score for this very special and personal film.”

Ryan Coogler

Nominated for: best original song for “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Nominations history: This is his first nomination in the category. He was nominated for best picture three years ago as a producer of Judas and the Black Messiah.

“It was an honor to work with these incredible musicians in crafting a song for our film and for our friend. It was meant to be a tribute to love and the specter of loss and I couldn’t be happier that it is being recognized. “

Ludwig Göransson

Nominated for: best original song for “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Nominations history: This is his first nomination in the category. He won for best score four years ago for the first Black Panther.

“I feel deep gratitude to have collaborated with Rihanna, Tems and Ryan Coogler on a song as profoundly personal as ‘Lift Me Up.’  For it to be recognized by the Academy is a huge honor. ‘Lift Me Up’ is a song that holds great meaning to us as it was written as a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of our friend, the late Chadwick Boseman, and his influence on this film. It felt cathartic and healing to write this song. We could not be more proud of this musical tribute and the unique collaboration that brought it to life. My deepest thanks go to Ryan Coogler, a true visionary and great friend, who created one of the most unique films of our time.”

Son Lux

Nominated for: best original score for Everything Everywhere All at Once. The trio’s Ryan Lott was also nominated for best original song for “This Is a Life,” which he co-wrote with David Byrne and Mitski.

Nominations history: This is their first nomination.

As if the joy of helping to make this wonderful and weird movie wasn’t enough, we are ecstatic to be nominated for our score, and for the song we wrote with David Byrne & Mitski for the film. While our belief in Everything Everywhere All at Once is boundless, receiving an Oscar nomination, let alone 2, wasn’t on our radar of possibility in this universe. “It’s an honor to be nominated for Original Score for The Banshees of Inisherin with these other wonderful composers.  It was a good year for film music.  And such a joy that the whole cast of our film is nominated, as well as Mikkel [E.G. Nielsen] for the editing which set the pace for so much of my music.  But most of all, I’m so grateful Martin McDonagh made this odd film, the opposite of a crowd-pleaser, which nonetheless is pleasing crowds.

Volker Bertelmann

Nominated for: best original score for All Quiet on the Western Front

Nominations history: This is his second nomination in the category. He was previously nominated for Lion (2016), on which he collaborated with Dustin O’Halloran. (Bertelmann was credited under the name Hauscha on that film.)

“I am excited and honored to be nominated for an Oscar. To be part of such a well-crafted and meaningful film means a lot to me. The collaboration with director Edward Berger was always based on being experimental and with a lot of freedom. I am very thankful for that. Congrats to Edward, producer Malte Grunert and the entire team on all their nominations.”

Hot 100 First-Timers: Mac DeMarco Debuts With 2019 Track ‘Heart to Heart’

Mac DeMarco has already tallied Billboard chart accolades, and now he’s also a Billboard Hot 100-charting artist, as his song “Heart to Heart” debuts on the Jan. 28-dated ranking at No. 98.

The track, from the Canadian singer-songwriter’s fourth studio album, 2019’s Here Comes the Cowboy, debuts almost entirely on the strength of 5.8 million U.S. streams (up 7%) in the Jan. 13-19 tracking week, according to Luminate.

TikTok has been instrumental in the song’s resurgence, as the song has been used in more than 94,000 clips on the platform. (TikTok does not contribute to Billboard’s charts.) In a 2019 interview with Entertainment Weekly, DeMarco described the song as a tribute to late rapper Mac Miller. “We had this strange history,” he said, alluding to their tongue-in-cheek feud over their similar names, “and then we became really close, and I was going over to his place multiple times a week, up until the point that he passed away.”

“Heart to Heart” has also found success on other Billboard rankings: It rises 6-5 on Hot Alternative Songs and 9-8 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, marking his first top 10 on each chart.

Here Comes the Cowboy became a hit upon its release. The set debuted at No. 1 on Americana/Folk Albums, No. 2 on Alternative Albums, No. 3 on Top Rock & Alternative Albums and No. 10 on the Billboard 200. It also reached No. 3 on Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums.

DeMarco first appeared on a Billboard chart in November 2012, when his debut studio album 2 opened at No. 49 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, before reaching No. 26 the following year.

Since then, DeMarco has charted four albums on the Billboard 200: Salad Days (No. 30 peak in 2014), Another One (No. 25, 2015), This Old Dog (No. 29, 2017) and Here Comes the Cowboy. Another One also hit No. 1 on Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Alternative Albums and Americana/Folk Albums.

DeMarco has been a notable vinyl seller, as three of his releases have topped Vinyl Albums: Salad Days, Another One and This Old Dog.

On the songs front, DeMarco charted two tracks prior to “Heart to Heart,” both also from Here Comes the Cowboy: “On the Square” and “Nobody” reached Nos. 44 and 46, respectively, on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs in 2019.

DeMarco released his fifth studio album, Five Easy Hot Dogs, last Friday. The set is entirely instrumental, and he recorded it during a road trip from Los Angeles to New York.

Madonna Biopic on Hold at Universal

The highly anticipated Madonna biopic directed by the icon herself is on pause at Universal Pictures, Billboard can confirm.

Madonna’s reps revealed that the superstar is focusing on her newly announced global tour this year, and is still planning on making a movie on her life at some point. The massive Celebration Tour will honor her  four decades of hits, and will span from July 15 all the way through Dec. 1.

The film, initially announced in 2020, was set to delve into the life and career of the beloved musician, and Inventing Anna actress Julia Garner was rumored to have been offered the role of portraying the pop superstar. According to reports at the time, Garner took part in a long process to snag the role, which included choreography sessions with the singer’s choreographer, as well as choreography, singing and reading sessions with Madonna herself. Other actresses who auditioned for the coveted role include Florence Pugh, Odessa Young and Alexa Demie.

Madonna was set to direct the biopic herself with Amy Pascal as the producer for the film, which was co-written by Secretary writer Erin Cressida Wilson.

“The reason I’m doing it is because a bunch of people have tried to write movies about me, but they’re always men,” Madonna said of the biopic in October during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. As for why she decided to make the biopic and lead the charge, she told Variety in July, “I’ve had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film.”

The lush short features TXT members Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and HueningKai sitting at the base of a moss-covered wisteria tree and basking in the glow of a soft light while covered in silver glitter. Two lines from the song, backed by airy guitar work, play in the visual before cutting out to the song’s Jan. 27 release date.

The official tracklist for The Name Chapter: Temptation was revealed to fans on Jan. 19; the project will include five tracks: “Sugar Rush Ride” “Devil by the Window,” “Happy Fools” featuring Coi Leray, “Tinnitus (Wanna Be a Rock)” and “Farewell, Neverland.” Temptation marks the sixth EP that the K-pop group will release following minisode 2: Thursday’s Child, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart after its arrival in May 2022.

After a showcase for the album on Jan. 28, TOMORROW X TOGETHER will prepare for their Act: Sweet Mirage world tour, during which the boy group will perform 21 shows across 13 cities. Seoul is up first with a pair of dates on March 25-26. Other stops in Asia include Singapore, Taipei and Japan. As for dates in the United States, TXT will perform in Charlotte, Belmont Park, Los Angeles and more.
