Cardi B Seemingly Steps Into Offset & J Prince Feud, Calls Out ‘Big Lies’

Cardi B looks to have entered the chat following a string of heated back-and-forth comments between her husband Offset and J Prince.

“BIG LIES,” the rapper tweeted on Wednesday (Feb. 8), seemingly in response to a video J Prince posted on Instagram replying to a video from Offset. In the voiceover clip, he accused the Migos member of being “fake,” “playing the victim” and even threatening his family.

Cardi also responded to a Twitter user who wrote (and has since deleted), “You be set trippin and forgot J Prince had to help YOU feel safe in LA. Where’s the lie?” She replied, “NEVER….tell him to show receipts ….Only people that was there was Wack and Big U ….why would he be call for anything involving crips?  Whole bunch of fairy tales.”

Offset also chimed in, writing, “Street Nigga turn [police emoji] never needed you for no smoke u da police all mouth with no proof just fairy tales [laughing emoji] let this be the last time we speak on this.”

The feud started when the Rap-A-Lot CEO suggested that Offset was not there for his Migos bandmate and cousin Takeoff, 28, before Takeoff’s murder last year in an episode of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game. “In reality, the truth of the matter is, n—a you wasn’t really right there with Takeoff when he was alive. So for you to be taking these positions that you taking,” Prince added, suggesting that he’s got people all around and he’s heard “all kinds of things” from unnamed sources about what happened on the night Takeoff was shot and killed in November during a night out with Quavo in Prince’s hometown of Houston. Prince also made what seemed like a direct warning to Offset, saying, “Don’t ever put me in a position where I have to defend myself. That wouldn’t be healthy for you.”

In response, Offset posted a video in which he’s visibly heated. “Y’all n—as speaking on my real brother… I don’t know what the f–k ya’ll n—as got going on, y’all n—as talkin’ about my real brother,” the Migos MC said in the minute-long black and white clip. “How dare one of y’all n—as even speak on me and Take relationship. I don’t know you n—as from a can of paint. Ya’ll n—as don’t know how me and my brother rock.”

He also slammed Prince for what he said was his “fifth interview” in which he’s discussed Takeoff’s death. “You ain’t think about his momma? You ain’t think about the family n—a?” ‘Set asked. “We ain’t said nothin’. Ain’t nobody said nothing but you n—as. Who y’all n—as think ya’ll n—as is? John Gotti n—a?… And if you heard something from me, I’mma tell you it’s gonna come from me, call my phone.

Yuridia Returns to Latin Airplay Top 10 After 16 Years, With Angela Aguilar Collab ‘Que Agonía’

After over a decade and a half, Yuridia returns to the top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart (dated Feb. 11) with “Que Agonía,” with Angela Aguilar. The single, released via Sony Music Latin Oct. 20, rallies 28-10 in its second week to become the Greatest Gainer among the 50-title chart.

“Que Agonía” was written by Pepe Aguilar and daughter Angela. It’s the fifth single from Yuridia’s seventh studio album Pa’ Luego Es Tarde which debuted and peaked at No. 7 on Regional Mexican Albums last November. The set is the Mexican’s first studio album since 6 reached No. 3 on Latin Pop Albums in 2016. Plus, it’s Yuridia’s first ranchera foray after almost two decades as a pop singer.

“Que Agonía” traces its 28-10 surge to a lofty 85% gain in audience impressions, to 7.7 million, earned in the U.S. in the Jan.27-Feb. 2 tracking week, according to Luminate. With the lift, Yuridia secures her second top 10 and first since a featured turn in Victor Manuelle’s “Nuestro Amor Se Ha Vuelto Ayer” reached No. 8 in 2006. “Que Agonia,” thus, is Yuridia’s first top 10 on Latin Airplay as a lead artist.

For Aguilar, “Agonía” provides her third straight top 10 on the all-genre tally which launched with the No. 5 high “Dime Cómo Quieres,” with Christian Nodal, in 2021.

Over on Regional Mexican Airplay, “Agonía” soars 19-5 also in its second week. It nearly doubles its peak from “¿Y Qué Tal Si Funciona?,” with Banda MS, the fourth single from the Eden Muñoz-produced Pa’ Luego Es Tarde. The latter track reached No. 11 in November.

Elsewhere, “Agonía” also makes progress on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, as its advances to No. 20 in its 12th week, Yuridia’s highest ranked title there since the No. 16-peaking “Ahora Entendí” in 2008.

Louis Tomlinson’s ‘All of Those Voices’ Documentary Headed to Theaters: Here’s When It Arrives

Louis Tomlinson announced Wednesday (Feb. 8) that he’s prepping the release of his new documentary All of Those Voices.

In partnership with 78 Productions, Trafalgar Releasing is set to premiere the music film in theaters nationwide on March 22 for a limited time. Tickets will go on sale exactly one month prior to the release date on Feb. 22, with specific theater listings also being unveiled that day.

A release for All of Those Voices promises that the film will allow fans an “intimate and unvarnished view” of the former One Directioner’s life and career through the process of creating and releasing his second solo album, Faith in the Future.

“From the highs of superstardom to the lows of personal tragedy, Louis’ story is one of resilience and determination,” the tease continues, adding that “the film shows a side of Louis that fans have never seen before, as he grapples with the pressures of fame and the weight of his own voice.”

“This has been something I’ve been working on for years,” Tomlinson said in a statement. “I’m really excited to finally put it out into the world. I’ve said it a million times but I’m lucky enough to have the greatest fans an artist could wish for, and as they always go above and beyond for me, I wanted to share my story ‘in my own words.’”

Released back in late November, Tomlinson’s latest studio effort became his first top five hit on the Billboard 200 when it bowed at No. 5. The LP also landed at No. 2 on the Top Album Sales chart after notching the singer a career-best sales week of 37,000 copies.

Last week, Tomlinson also announced the dates of his upcoming tour of Asia, which kicks off in Japan on April 17 in support of Faith in the Future.

Kelly Clarkson Rocks Out to a Whitesnake Classic for Kellyoke Cover

Here Kelly Clarkson goes again on her own (with a little help from her band too, of course).

On the Wednesday (Feb. 8) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the American Idol alum tapped into her rock roots to give Whitesnake‘s 1987 Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Here I Go Again” a spin for her opening Kellyoke segment.

Clarkson, wearing a black floral gown, black cardigan and thin velvet choker and accompanied by her band Y’all, the powerhouse vocalist put her spin on the track, belted the song’s lyrics and added vibrato at the most appropriate parts.

“Though I keep searching for an answer/ I never seem to find what I’m looking for/ Oh Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on/ ‘Cause I know what it means/ To walk along the lonely street of dreams,” Clarkson belted.

“Here I Go Again” was released as the third single from Whitesnake’s self-titled seventh studio album. The track — which was originally recorded for and appeared on the band’s 1982 album Saints & Sinners — spent a total of 28 weeks on the Hot 100, where it peaked at No. 1 in October 1987.

“‘Special’ featuring SZA drops tomorrow,” Lizzo said in a video posted to her Instagram on Wednesday (Feb. 8). Naturally, fans were besides themselves in the comments, sharing excited wails of happiness. After all, the collaboration has been a long time in the making.

Lizzo hinted that she was getting to work on something with SZA back in November. “Something Special coming your way soon… ? @sza,” the four-time Grammy winner shared on Twitter, along with a video of her and SZA, with a snippet of the “Special” remix playing over the video.

As for SZA, she gushed over her relationship with Lizzo on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast and let it slip they were in the studio together having fun. “We just have so much fun together. And I feel like she gets me. She’s another person who has hella music tastes and doesn’t fit in anybody’s box of anything,” she said.

The “Kill Bill” singer continued, “She makes it seem like she doesn’t even care, like she just does whatever she wants. And I just love being with her, just as a friend and hanging out. So whenever she comes to a studio, I just feel like, ‘Let’s drop into some bullsh–.’”

During a game of “LaBelle and Tell,” in which the star reacted to photos that appeared on screen, the 78-year-old discussed a photo embracing Ross, with the Supremes singer kissing her on the cheek. “People think that we had something against each other, but we really never did,” she revealed. “It was just the way people perceived certain things. That’s my doll, OK?”

During an August 2022 appearance on Drink Champs, the “If Only You Knew” singer recalled frustration towards Ross and the Supremes for copying her looks. “They were biting my style,” she shared at the time.

LaBelle also recalled an incident in which Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles member Cindy Birdsong left the group to join the Supremes. “That’s why we had issues,” she explained. However, she said the duo thankfully made up at an event thrown by Oprah Winfrey.

Later on in the game, LaBelle reacted to a photo of herself smiling alongside Prince. “We had a lot of history,” she said. “Prince had me at his studio and he had clothes made for me because he had that beautiful tailor in the basement of his recording studio, so they made me four outfits. He had me come to his house and cook a 12-course meal. He ate a biscuit and then after that, he took me to the club and we threw down. We had fun. He was so mysterious and awesome. Nobody knew what he was thinking.”

Hudson also thanked LaBelle for helping her take on the role of Aretha Franklin in Respect, and asked the icon who she’d like to play her in a biopic. “You already did Aretha, so you can’t do me,” LaBelle joked before naming Fantasia and Ledisi. “They can sing. They’re awesome. […] I love those ladies. You guys are the ones who call me because I’m honest and I’m blessed to know you, so I don’t want you to make any mistakes that I might have made. So you’re gonna get the truth from Ms. Patti Patti.”

“That’s why we call her Mama Patti,” Hudson replied.

Shannon Sharpe has some advice for Memphis Grizzlies’ superstar Ja Morant after his entourage got into a bit of alleged trouble.

Allegedly, some of Ja Morant’s boys “aggressively confronted” some Indiana Pacers staff following a Grizzlies win on January 29.

Sharpe spoke on the alleged altercation on a Monday episode of Undisputed with his co-host Skip Bayless. “Ja is an outstanding basketball player,” Sharpe begins. “Ja did everything he could to lift himself and his family out of this type of environment and to get away from this, and for some reason, he wants to surround himself with these type of people. Why? Bruh, you not hard. That’s not your life. People in that life would give anything to be in your life.”

Before the altercation, tempers flared on the court, with Morant and Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard getting into a heated exchange during the third quarter. Morant reportedly said he “checked [Nembard’s] temperature” and that “he didn’t have a fever.”

Per The Athletic’s reporting, someone in Morant’s entourage inside an SUV pointed a red laser at the Indiana travel crew. They also claimed Morant was allegedly in the vehicle and that someone pointed a firearm at them from the SUV.

The Pacers’ staffers declined to file a report about the incident out of fear of retaliation, so the organization did it for them.

Following its own investigation, the NBA said it “could not corroborate that any individual threatened others with a weapon.” But, a member of Morant’s crew was banned from FedEx Arena for a year.

Morant spoke about the situation in a tweet calling cap on the situation.

Shannon Sharpe Wants Ja Morant To Stop Pretending To Be Tough

Sharpe also touched on the tweet, adding, “Stop pretending… You’re not gonna do nothing,” he continued. “What you’re gonna do is get yourself in trouble — [and] put yourself and your family in harm’s way — when you don’t have to. Just play basketball.”

“You pretend like you’re hard, but you’re not, Ja,” he added. “You’re opening yourself up. You’re putting yourself in a position you don’t even need to be in. And for what? Street cred? Come on, bruh.”

Twitter chimed in on the situation, agreeing with Uncle Shannon, pointing out that Morant needs to focus on his play and stop trying to be Larry Hoover.

Beyoncé’s Adidas x Ivy Park Clothing Sales Down 50%: Report

HipHopWired Featured Video
Beyonce Halls Of Ivy x IVY Park

Source: ADIDAS / Ivy Park

Sales of Beyoncé’s Ivy Park clothing line, which is in partnership with adidas, are reportedly down 50%. The news certainly raises eyebrows since anything affiliated with Queen Bey is easy money, right?

While Ivy Park certainly sells, it seems like it didn’t live up to adidas’ projections, which are being described as “weak sales.”

Reports the Wall Street Journal:

Beyoncé’s fashion partnership with Adidas has produced weak sales of her Ivy Park clothing brand, according to documents and people familiar with the matter, leaving a roughly $200 million hole in the company’s annual projections.

Sales of Ivy Park tumbled by more than 50% to about $40 million in 2022—coming in below internal Adidas projections for $250 million in sales that year, documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal show. The documents show Ivy Park has been losing money for Adidas and Beyoncé gets about $20 million in annual compensation.

The contract between the pop star, whose full name is Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and the German sneaker giant is set to end after 2023, and Adidas executives have discussed either ending or revamping the arrangement, the people said.

This news draws a contrast to the sales of Beyoncé’s forthcoming world tour. With tickets going for hundreds of dollars they’ve nevertheless been selling out shortly after availability. However, Ivy Park product has reportedly been sitting.

Adidas executives expected hundreds of millions of dollars in Ivy Park sales and promised Beyoncé guaranteed annual fees and creative control, the people familiar with the matter said. But it soon became clear that Ivy Park collections weren’t gaining the traction that Yeezy products did.

Ivy Park features inclusive sizing and gender-neutral styles. Along with neon-colored sweatsuits and sneakers, it also has dresses and accessories. Many of the Ivy Park products have failed to sell, the documents show. In five of the last six Ivy Park releases, roughly half of the merchandise that was produced went unsold, the documents show.

Ivy Park debuted back in 2016, and at the time was in partnership with the Topshop brand. She then acquired full ownership of the brand in 2018, before partnering with adidas a year later.

The issue could be that despite “weak” sales, Bey is still going to get her coins regardless.

Ivy Park sales were on track to hit about $40 million at the end of last year, down from $93 million in 2021, according to the documents. For 2023, the documents show Ivy Park sales are projected to reach $65 million, compared with an earlier Adidas target of reaching $335 million.

Adidas was on track to lose at least $10 million on the partnership in 2022, according to the documents. Meanwhile, Beyoncé was slated to receive about $20 million in compensation, the same as previous years, the documents show.

If Ivy Park and adidas do eventually go their separate ways, where will Bey go next? You can bet brands like a Nike or Lululemon or doing the Birdman handr ub.

After 25 Years, Kenny Lattimore Gets Second No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay Chart

It took more than 25 years, but Kenny Lattimore returns to the peak of Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart and earns his second No. 1 with “Take a Dose.” The single, released on SoNo, advances from No. 2 to lead the list dated Feb. 11 after a 12% surge in plays that made it the most-played song on U.S. monitored adult R&B stations in the week ending Feb. 2, according to Luminate.

“Dose” gives the R&B singer his second champ on Adult R&B Airplay, following “For You” in 1997. The prior champ reigned for 17 weeks that year, and at the time, was the song with the most weeks at No. 1 in the chart’s history, from its 1993 launch. Now, it still ranks in the top-five longest runs at the summit:

Weeks at No. 1, Song Title, Artist, Date Reached No. 1
18, “Fortunate,” Maxwell, May 22, 1999
18, “So in Love,” Jill Scott featuring Anthony Hamilton, July 2, 2011
17, “For You,” Kenny Lattimore, April 19, 1997
17, “Adorn,” Miguel, Nov. 17, 2012
17, “Blurred Lines,” Robin Thicke featuring T.I. + Pharrell, Aug. 17, 2013

Between his two chart-topping singles, Lattimore landed four top 10s: “Days Like This” (No. 4, 1998); “If I Lose My Woman” (No. 10, 1999); “Love Me Back” (No. 8, 2015) and “Stay on Your Mind” (No. 7, 2018). In addition, he scored an additional top 10 with his debut entry on the list, “Never Too Busy,” which peaked at No. 2 in 1996.

“We did it!,” Lattimore wrote in a Twitter post. “Thanks to UAC [urban AC] radio, streaming media and fans who have supported my new album #HereToStay and this journey to “Take A Dose” reaching #1. I’m grateful for all the love and support!”

Elsewhere, “Dose” jumps 23-19 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which ranks songs based on combined audience totals from adult R&B and mainstream R&B/hip-hop radio stations. There, the four-spot rise comes through a 14% weekly increase to 6.1 million in audience in the week ending Feb. 2. As “Dose” cracks the top 20, it becomes Lattimore’s second song among 15 entries to reach the mark. No surprise – “For You” is the other, as it reached a No. 10 best in May 1997.
