Bruce Springsteen Took a Tumble During His Amsterdam Concert

Bruce Springsteen had a moment that fans, bandmates and promoters dread when, during a concert in Amsterdam last Saturday (May 27), the rock legend had an on-stage fall.

The 73-year-old artist was returning from a stint in the pit when, during a performance of “Ghosts,” he tripped up the stairs while carrying his electric guitar.

The Boss appeared to have a soft landing, as members of the E Street Band rushed over to check on him and help the Boss to his feet.

“Goodnight everybody,” he yelled to the audience, as he gingerly made his way back to the center stage.

Thankfully, it wasn’t the end of the show. “Ghosts” came early in a set at Johan Cruijff Arena that numbered almost 30 songs, and included classics “Born In The U.S.A.,” “Born to Run,” “Thunder Road,” “Dancing In The Dark,” and more.

Stumbles aside, Springsteen has enjoyed some glory days on his current European tour.

During his trip to Ireland, he caught up with former Pogues singer Shane MacGowan at his home in Dublin, and was spotted hanging with some townspeople and having a pint at The Burrow pub in Rathangan, Co. Kildare.

During a visit last month to Spain, Springsteen welcomed on stage former First Lady Michelle Obama and actress Kate Capshaw, wife of director Steven Spielberg, for a rendition of “Glory Days.”

And the stars came out for his performance at Rome’s Circus Maximus, with the likes of Sting, Nick Cave, drummers Lars Ulrich (Metallica) and Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), and actors Woody Harrelson, Chris Rock and Isla Fisher spotted in the audience.

Springsteen has been prolific of late, dropping the albums Western Stars in 2019, followed by Letter to You in 2020, both peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Last year, Springsteen released the R&B covers album Only the Strong Survive, his 21st studio set (peaking at No. 8).

His “BZRP Music Sessions #53” with Shakira — released in January — peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The diss track broke a handful of Guinness World Records. It now makes them title holders for the most streamed Latin track on Spotify in 24 hours (14,393,324), most viewed Latin track on YouTube in 24 hours (63,000,000), fastest Latin track to reach 100 million views on YouTube (in two days and approximately 22 hours) and most streamed Latin track on Spotify in one week (80,646,962).

Another favorite music session is the Argentine producer’s team up with Spanish artist Quevedo. It’s one of Bizarrap’s most watched sessions on YouTube, and it’s the one that catapulted both artists to global success. Their “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” scored both their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Currently, it has more than 520 million views on YouTube.

Other most-viewed sessions include his “BZRP Music Sessions #36” with Nathy Peluso — which  instantly became a viral social media sensation in 2020 thanks to Peluso’s catchy verse (“I’m a, I am a, I’m a nasty girl, fantastic/ Este culo es natural“) — and “BZRP Music Sessions #13” with Argentine rapper and singer Nicki Nicole, who teamed up with Bizarrap early on for one of his first-ever sessions.

Below, vote for your favorite Bizarrap Music Session (so far). If you don’t see your favorite in the poll, feel free to add it in the “Other” section.

Though Hit-Boy’s been making noise in the industry for helping Nas craft three straight bangers in Kings Disease I, II, and III, the man is an artist in his own right and has the skills to pay the bills and bars to make him a star.

Linking up with Big Hit for his visuals to “Reckless & Ratchet,” Hit-Boy throws Big Hit a coming home party complete with balloons, bottles, and bikini-clad booty shaking women who seem more than happy to give Big a warm homecoming. We all need a homie like Hit-Boy in our lives.

Benny The Butcher meanwhile keeps on collecting bags and in Kapitol P’s clip to “100 Miles,” The Butcher and P find themselves living the mafia lifestyle from the streets to the penitentiary where they cooking meals fit for some goodfellas.

Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Armani White and A$AP Ferg, Z-Ro, and more.

Offset Shares Footage Of Him Appreciating Cardi B’s Cakes

Offset doesn’t mince his words when it comes to his wife. He recently shared a clip of him appreciating Cardi B’s ample backside.

As spotted on Page Six the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper missed his better half in a major way. This week he reunited with her and made it clear that he is a very lucky man. He shared a not safe for work clip of her laying down on a bed while his hand went to her backside. He proceeded to pull down her pants and massage her signature assets in all their glory. Naturally Bardi felt the love and responded “You happy to see me?” to which he responded “Yes, I miss you so much.”

As expected Offset’s share drew both support and criticism with some questioning his respect for Cardi. “I don’t get s—t like this at all, u want the whole world to see ur lady like that??????” one user commented. Another follower called out that the move was in poor taste given they have kids saying “What happened to dignity & self-respect?”. While Cardi and Offset seem to be on great terms it seems his relationship with his recording home Quality Control Music is not. Recently it was revealed that he has been in a legal battle to retain his masters.

On Monday, April 3 he took to social media to preview a new untitled song which seemed to address his challenges with his recording home. “They can’t be too upset / I could of kept it to myself, they can’t be too upset / I done broke bread, cut checks, they can’t be too upset / I took that rope off my neck, they couldn’t be too upset / N****s still bite my style, they can’t be too upset / I done laid low for a while, they can’t be that upset / N****s lost all my respect, they can’t be that upset” he rapped.

Tupac Shakur Is Finally Getting His Own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Rose That Grew From Concrete is finally receiving his own sidewalk honor: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On June 7, legendary rapper, poet and actor Tupac Shakur will receive his star in the recording category during a public ceremony at 6212 Hollywood Blvd.

Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet, and revolutionary,” says Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “This iconic artist has continued to be part of the zeitgeist for decades after his passing and will continue to be an important cultural figure for many years to come. Surely, as one of L.A.’s own, Tupac’s star will be added to the list of most visited stars.”

Born in New York City but spending his formative years in California, Shakur is revered as a West Coast legend and a cited inspiration to artists across the globe, including Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, J. Cole, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and countless others.

At the Baltimore School for the Arts, Shakur studied acting, poetry, jazz and ballet. In his early career, Shakur was known as MC New York before taking on the moniker 2Pac during his time with rap group Digital Underground.

As a solo artist, Shakur released his debut album 2Pacalypse Now in 1991 via Interscope Records. He went on to share three more albums before his fatal shooting at age 25 — all of which charted on the Billboard 200, with All Eyez on Me and Me Against the World topping the chart. Following his death, six posthumous studio albums were released through Amaru Entertainment, started by Shakur’s mother, and Interscope Records.

Both All Eyez on Me and Shakur’s greatest-hits collection are RIAA-certified diamond, surpassing the 10-million mark. In 2017, the rap icon was the first solo hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. As an actor, Shakur starred in films including Juice, Poetic Justice, Above The Rim, Gridlock’d and Gang Related.

The Walk of Fame star unveiling will be hosted by L.A. radio host Big Boy and guest speakers will include director Allen Hughes (Hulu documentary series Dear Mama), writer Jamal Joseph and Tupac’s sister Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, who will accept the star.

The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. PT and will stream live here.

Megan & Saweetie Show Off New Boos, Peso Pluma & Bizarrap Collab, More | Billboard News

Megan Thee Stallion was seen out with soccer player Romelu Lukaku amid breakup rumors with Pardi. Saweetie & YG seemingly confirm their relationship. Both Peso Pluma and Bizarrap have been sharing teasers of their upcoming collab on their socials. We followed TOMORROW X TOGETHER as they prepared for night 1 of their shows at UBS Arena. And more!

Tetris Kelly  0:00

Megan Thee Stallion and Saweetie got new boos, say what? We’re on tour with TOMORROW X TOGETHER and ENHYPEN. We run down the hottest songs on Twitter. Bizarrap gets a new collaborator and Davido teaches us some Nigerian slang

Tetris Kelly 0:16

It’s Wednesday May 31st. I’m Tetris Kelly and this is Billboard News, and before we leave this month behind let’s get into your top story. The ladies of rap are feeling the love, so who are Megan and Saweetie dating?

Tetris Kelly 0:34

Looks like Saweetie found someone that’s her type. I like what I did there. She was spotted in Cabo getting frisky with fellow rapper YG. They first fueled romance rumors back in March when she attended his birthday party. The two have collaborated twice in the past but we’re not sure when things got romantic. As for Megan It looks like she’s got a new boo too. Megan was spotted arm in arm with Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku at his teammate’s wedding in Italy. This came as a surprise to some fans because they assumed Megan and Pardi Fontaine were still an item. The two celebrated their two-year anniversary back in October and Pardi seemingly dedicated a poem to Meg earlier this month, but the two did unfollow each other on Insta. So the internet is taking this new wedding date as a sign. You do you ladies.

Disney’s ‘Moana’ Live-Action Remake Taps ‘Hamilton’ Director Thomas Kail

With The Little Mermaid making a splash in theaters this past weekend, news regarding another Disney film’s live-action remake is making waves. On Wednesday (May 31), The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Hamilton and In the Heights director Thomas Kail will helm the upcoming live-action version of Moana.

The film was first announced earlier this spring. Alongside Broadway vet Kail directing, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — who will will reprise his role as Maui, the demigod of the wind and sea — will produce via his company Seven Bucks productions with Dany and Hiram Garcia. Beau Flynn is also producing via Flynn Picture Co. Jared Bush, the animated movie’s original screenwriter, wrote the script for the live-action movie alongside Dana Ledoux Miller.

While the titular character has yet to be cast for the film, Auli’i Cravalho — who originally starred as the voice of Moana — revealed that she won’t reprise the role but will instead serve as an executive producer on the project.

“When I was cast as Moana at 14, it wonderfully changed my life and started my career,” she said on Instagram earlier this month. “In this live-action retelling, I will not be reprising the role. I believe it is absolutely vital that casting accurately represents the characters and stories we want to tell.”

She continued, “I can’t wait to find the next actress to portray Moana’s courageous spirit, undeniable wit and emotional strength. I’m truly honored to pass this baton to the next woman of Pacific Island descent to honor our incredible Pacific peoples, cultures and communities that help inspire her story, and I look forward to all the beautiful Pacific representation to come. Mahalo.”
