Naomi Osaka Shares First Look at Newborn Daughter With Cordae

Cordae and Naomi Osaka are basking in the new parent life, as the couple welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, earlier this month.

The tennis champion took to Instagram on Thursday (July 13) to share a glimpse into the past few weeks, and the first photo featured her daughter’s adorable legs dressed in a fittingly tennis-themed onesie.

Among the other snaps in the photo dump were pictures of Osaka cradling her pregnant belly, laying in the hospital bed before delivery and more. “Well that was a cool little intermission, now back to your regularly scheduled program,” the 25-year-old athlete captioned the post.

Osaka revealed that she was pregnant via Twitter back in January, posting a photo of an ultrasound. “I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure,” she wrote. “I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom,’ haha.”

The tennis superstar and the Grammy-nominated rapper have been dating since 2019, when Osaka posted a video with Cordae to her Instagram. In the clip, the tennis player is seen giggling as the “RNP” musician plays around while checking himself out in a mirror.

Marina Reveals Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Diagnosis

Marina took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 12) and opened up to her fans and followers about the state of her health. The singer revealed that after multiple years of health issues, she’s been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, also known as Myalgic encephalomyelitis.

“I’ve had symptoms like deep fatigue, numbness, tingling, low appetite, brain fog, rashes, insomnia and a feeling of being ‘poisoned’ for so long it’s been hard to remember what healthy feels like,” she wrote to caption a photo of herself. “My baseline energy has been at 50 – 60% for a long time. Aside from a few periods of remission, the last 7 years have consisted of relying on adrenaline and will power to push me through each day.⁣”

The Wales native shared that she has been recovering for two months, which came after “an unusually bad flare up that involved shooting pains and burning sensations all over my hands, legs and back.” The event resulted in a visit to a functional medicine practitioner who helped her deal with the symptoms, which allowed her to learn that the flare-ups can be caused by “a hypersensitive nervous system, developed in response to chronic stress,” she explained.

Marina, however, remains optimistic about her condition and her ability to get back to making music again. “The key to healing seems to lie in retraining the nervous system to regulate itself again.⁣ The happy news is… (!) I am feeling better today than I have in a long time,” she said. “My energy levels are around 65 – 70% most days and the dips I have are shorter. Healing is demanding a lot of my energy and attention right now, but the better I feel, the sooner I can get back to my creative life again. I worked for the first time in a while yesterday and it felt so good.”

The pop singer concluded her note with empathy to all who silently struggle with chronic illnesses: “It’s hard to maintain optimism when the world feels like it’s moving on without you, but hope always exists. Answers always exist. The body wants to heal — and what I’ve learned is that you have to work with it, not against it.⁣”

One of America’s most beloved fashion brands is planning a big 2024. Ralph Lauren is confirmed to return to New York Fashion Week in September.

As spotted on High Snobiety the Bronx, New York born designer will be debuting his upcoming collection to fashion industry tastemakers later this year. Women’s Wear Daily reports the Manhattan based label is planning a woman’s fashion show at an undisclosed location. The last time RL hosted an event at New York Fashion Week was September 7, 2019. The invite only affair was staged at Ralph’s Club; a one night only experiential set up that was a nod to supper clubs from the Jazz Age. After tuxedo forward collection was presented Janelle Monáe took the stage and performed.

The last show in the United States RL hosted was in San Marino, California on October 13, 2022. Hosted at the Art Museum and Botanical Gardens the festivities attracted the likes of John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck and more. His most praised installation in recent history was his 50 year anniversary celebration back in 2018. Dubbed “An Evening In Central Park” transformed Central Park’s iconic Bethesda Terrace into the backdrop for a landmark event featuring a runway and a seated dinner for 500. Oprah Winfrey was in attendance and praised Ralph Lauren for his contribution to not only fashion but American culture. “Your work these past 50 years has told the story of our lives. The lives that we live and the lives we aspire to live” she said.

The date for the Ralph Lauren 2023 New York Fashion Week show has yet to be confirmed.

Roc Nation Sports Signs Deal With Italian Soccer League Series A

One would think that being a billionaire would have Jay-Z just kicking back and enjoying the empire that he’s built for himself but nope! The man is still out here making big time deals and continuing to invest for himself and his family.

According to Digital Music News, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports has just come to terms with Italy’s top soccer league, Series A, to create a “strategic partnership” that’ll have Roc Nation Sports promoting the Italian league throughout North America via events, digital content, and marketing activations as only they can. Y’all know Roc Nation Sports got the juice for that kind of stuff. It’s Jay-Z, b.

Digital Music News reports:

Roc Nation and Serie A have had a working partnership since 2019, and in 2020, Roc Nation inked a deal with Serie A side AC Milan to host an event to raise support for workers during the height of the COVID pandemic. The event was hosted by DJ Khaled and featured performances from artists like Alicia Keys and Kelly Rowland, with all proceeds going to charity.

“We are super excited to help Serie A expand its brand throughout America while helping to develop meaningful commercial partnerships along with enhanced brand visibility that will lead to continued growth for one of the world’s premier football leagues,” says Roc Nation president Michael Yormark.

“We spent some time together in New York, and then he pushed me to return to Inter,” said Lukaku. “He’s a person who follows football a lot; he always follows Inter. He’s truly a nice person.”

Y’all know that money that the sport of soccer generates worldwide ain’t no joke either. Jay is smart to get into that arena. Cristiano Ronaldo earns $214 million per year for God’s sake! They know its money to be had in that field that most Americans tend to overlook. Soccer’s just not our thing, but with Roc Nation putting some muscle behind Series A, y’all might become a bit more familiar with the sport in the coming future.

Still, they might have their work cut out for them as Italian soccer does have an issue with racism as many of their Black players have been subjected to nasty racial rhetoric on the field. It got to the point where Roc Nation President, Michael Yormark, felt compelled to address it in a statement saying, “The Italian authorities must use this opportunity to tackle racism rather than punish the victim of the abuse. I am certain that the footballing world shares the same sentiment.”

We’ll have to wait and see how this new venture pans out for Jay and his Roc Nation conglomerate.

What do y’all think of Roc Nation getting down with an Italian soccer league? Let us know in the comments section below.

Travis Barker Celebrates 30th Flight Since 2008 Crash, Credits Kourtney Kardashian’s ‘Healing Love’

2023 is the year of milestones for Travis Barker. Not only are he and wife Kourtney Kardashian eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child together, the Blink-182 drummer is also celebrating his 30th flight since a devastating 2008 crash altered his life forever.

“Just flew for the 30th time since my plane crash,” the Grammy-nominated artist posted Wednesday on Threads. “Wouldn’t be able to tour or enjoy life again the way I do without the healing love of my amazing wife. I love you.” The Kardashians star returned the love, reposting her husband’s testimony and adding “So proud of my husband.” Barker and Kardashian married in May of last year after just over a year of dating.

In September 2008, a plane carrying Barker, Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein and four other passengers crashed during take-off, killing all aboard except for Barker and Goldstein. The following year, Goldstein died of an accidental drug overdose, leaving Barker, who always had a fear of flights, as the sole remaining survivor of the fatal crash. The drummer had burns on 65% of his body and spent 11 weeks in the hospital following the crash. Barker now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, and he did not fly on a plane again until 2021, a few months after he met then-girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian.

The couple will soon see their dynamic evolve once their baby boy arrives. On June 18, the eldest Kardashian sister posted a picture of Barker playfully drumming on her pregnant belly with the caption “Overwhelmed with gratitude and joy for God’s blessing and plan.”

Ice Cube Claps Back At Those Criticizing Photos With RFK Jr.

BIG3 - Championship

Ice Cube is firing back at social media critics taking him to task for apparently being chummy with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a recently posted photo.

The Hip-Hop icon and businessman has come under scrutiny after the son of the slain Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy was in attendance at the BIG3 Basketball event held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday (July 9th). The Democratic Party presidential candidate and his campaign manager, Dennis Kucinich posed for a photo with Cube afterward which was shared to Twitter. “@Dennis_Kucinich and I spent a wonderful evening with one of our country’s most influential and outspoken civil rights leaders @icecube!”, the caption read.

The photo didn’t sit well with people online, who immediately voiced their displeasure at the West Coast legend being in a picture with Kennedy, who has been a notorious anti-vaxxer and COVID-19 denier. They also had jokes for the 69-year-old Kennedy calling him “a civil rights legend.” But it didn’t take long for the “Steady Mobbin’” rapper to issue his own tweet in response. “For all the simple minded short bus people out there. A picture is not an endorsement, dummy. Now get your ass over to bungalow 51 and STFU,” he wrote.

One fan directly wrote to Ice Cube expressing disappointment: “My brotha ice cube, I’ve been listening to you since 1993 you went from arrest the president, fuk the police, straight outta Compton, the list goes on,” they wrote. “I’m highly disappointed in you brotha, what’s your mission? Because of you I still rep the West pls tell me your not selling out.” Ice Cube’s reply was fiery: “Sellout? I work for myself. I’m self-made. How do you feed your family??? How much do you sell your time for per hour on your job?”

The AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted artist did garner some support from fans as well as from his peers, such as Chuck D of Public Enemy who tweeted out a sketch of him, writing: “Know this fact. @icecube has gone into every one of these ‘industries’ many of the masses worship… on HIS own rule and as his OWN MAN. A game that’s twisted many into demise. Not him. Know that. Seen the same dude since the day I met him. He KNOWS who he is. Know who YOU are.” Cube replied by quote-tweeting, “Thanks Big Bruh.”

Lil Wayne Performed ‘A Milli’ To Open Up The 2023 ESPY Awards

This current generation of Hip-Hoppers may not remember the reign of Lil Wayne in the mid 2000s, but us older heads do, so when Weezy took the stage at the 2023 ESPYS to open up the night with a classic hit, y’all know we was all in our retro feelings.

Before the awards were handed out last night and numerous athletes got their well-deserved flowers, Lil Wayne opened up the festivities with a rendition of his classic 2008 hit, “A Milli.” Needless to say, the audience got hype and turnt up as they traveled back in time and bounced to the beat the same way they did when they wore baggy clothes and Bape sneakers to boot. Tiffany Haddish throwing her arms up with excitement pretty much summed up how everyone over 30 years old was feeling in that moment.

Aside from the dope performance, the night was filled with numerous moments that had social media buzzing including statements from your favorite athletes about their future plans and others just having some fun at the events.

Stereo Gum reports:

There were plenty of news stories coming out of last night’s ESPYs: LeBron James announcing that he’s not retiring, Patrick Mahomes showing up looking like Riff Raff. But the only thing that really makes sense for this website — another H.E.R. performance on another awards show doesn’t count — was Wayne bringing back his 2008 smash “A Milli,” giving it slight lyrical tweaks to reflect the occasion: “I want my NIL, so I’m going back to college/ Tattoos on my face, you could call me Dennis Rodman.” He also threw in a line about “Damar Hamlin doin’ fine.”

Check out Lil Wayne take everyone back to 2008 below, and let us know if you felt that retro vibe during his performance in the comments section below.
