Jowell & Randy will soon host their five-date stint at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot —where they’ve already handed an interesting rider list to the promoter.
As tradition holds, a rider is a set of requests for the dressing room made by the artist that is typically fulfilled by the hosting venue. This can range from foods to beverages to decorations and beyond. For their upcoming shows, the pair requested 1,500 pounds of dog and cat food.

Though this may sound bizarre, it’s actually for a good cause.

Trending on Billboard

The Puerto Rican duo — known for hits like “Bonita” with J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Yandel, & Ozuna, and “Safaera” with Bad Bunny and Ñengo Flow — teamed up with Giving Tuesday Puerto Rico to highlight the importance of donating to and supporting local social causes.

“We as artists ask for whatever we want because we have our requirements,” member Joel “Jowell” Muñoz said in a press statement. “We asked for 1,500 pounds of dog and cat food, but it’s to donate to the Save a Sato organization through the Giving Tuesday movement. There are several artists who joined and it is a positive initiative on our part. Anyone who wants to join and donate can choose any other foundation, the important thing is to donate.”

The Pet Friendly PR organization also confirmed that they will be collecting donations of pet foods at some of the Jowell & Randy concerts taking place Dec. 12, 13, 14, 15, and 20.

“Creative actions like this help give visibility to the crucial work of our organizations,” Blamilsa Corujo, local leader of Giving Tuesday Puerto Rico, added.

Other artists who joined the Giving Tuesday initiative included Rawayana, Gale, and Jon Z, asking for donations such as 300 whoppers and 200 hula hoops, for example. For more information, visit Giving Tuesday PR.

Sean Diddy Combs will not celebrate Diddygiving the way he would like, with his family, this year because he is in prison, but at least he can look forward to some turkey.

Spotted on Page Six, we now know what the disgraced music mogul can expect as a Thanksgiving meal while still maintaining behind bars. The celebrity gossip site shared the Metropolitan Detention Center’s Thanksgiving menu, and it’s not your momma’s home cooking, but it sounds enjoyable.
Diddy and other prisoners can look forward to breakfast, lunch, and a nice Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 28.
Per Page Six:

The embattled music mogul’s breakfast on Thursday will consist of fruit, breakfast pastries and cereal with skim milk, Page Six confirmed on Monday.
Lunch includes standard holiday fare, from turkey roast and mashed potatoes with gravy to mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce and dinner rolls, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
In addition to a traditional turkey meal, inmates will also have the option to eat hot and sour tofu, as well as assorted holiday pies.
The Brooklyn, NY’s institution’s dinner menu will feature two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on whole wheat bread, fruit and potato chips.
Sounds decent, right?
Combs, 55, is currently has been locked up since his arrest in September, with his attorneys desperately trying to get their client out on bail.
The rapper/mogul was charged with prostitution, sex trafficking, and racketeering, which he has pleaded not guilty to.
He was also slapped with several sexual assault lawsuits as he continues to wait for his May 2025 trial date.
Most recently, Combs has been accused numerous times of violating the prison’s communication regulations.

Lake Street Dive’s ascent from its music school roots to Manhattan’s largest concert stage is a story of an old-fashioned work ethic in an era of overnight TikTok stars.

A decade ago, when Lake Street Dive performed in New York City, it played the 600-capacity Bowery Ballroom, a notch on the belt for up-and-coming acts. Not long before that, the band, which came together in 2004 at the New England School Conservatory of Music, played gigs at the cozy Rockwood Music Hall, wine bar-cum-music venue that could squeeze a couple hundred people at its biggest stage. In 2022, Lake Street Dive had taken its brand of pop-meets-jazz-meets-soul to two nights at Radio City Music Hall.

By 2024, the five-piece band was ready for the city’s most vaunted stage, the 19,500-capacity Madison Square Garden. Thinking about performing at the historic arena, which has hosted everything from the legendary Concert for Bangladesh in 1971 to a 10-year Billy Joel residency, gave singer Rachael Price “a fair amount of imposter syndrome,” she tells Billboard’s Behind the Setlist podcast.

Trending on Billboard

“But when we got there and we walked out on stage, and we felt the crowd, it was like every single person had seen us play at Rockwood Music Hall. That’s how they felt. The energy of the faces in the crowd, they all had this like knowing look on their face, [as if they were saying,] ‘I’ve seen you in this city for 10 years, and I knew you guys when.’ And so the whole thing felt kind of like a big homecoming. It felt like a graduation party.”

Drummer Mike Calabrese found himself with a similarly weak stomach before the show. “I didn’t sleep the night before, and I was nauseous all day until sound check,” he says. ”But then I realized, oh yeah, our fans are the best. We’ve played New York a million times. We know what we’re doing. Everything’s fine.”

Price, Calabrese and their bandmates — bass player Bridget Kearney, keyboardist Akie Bermiss and guitarist James Cornelison — reached another career milestone in 2024 when their eighth studio album, Good Together, was nominated for a Grammy for best traditional pop vocal album. For a self-described “genre-less band,” receiving a nomination that typically requires being placed into a genre came as a surprise. “We definitely have all said to each other — maybe to ourselves —[that] we will never get nominated for a Grammy,” says Price.

Success has a way of finding talented artists who persevere, though, and Lake Street Dive has put in the hard work to merit both a Madison Square Garden gig and a Grammy nod. “We have been doing this for 20 years — and steadily for 20 years,” says Calabrese. “And I’m not saying that everybody who does that for 20 years deserves a Grammy necessarily, but it’s very exciting, and we’re very honored. I also feel like we made a really good album. It would be one thing if we were a band that was one or two years on the scene and had this just massive hit and boom!”

Still, the Grammy nomination was so unexpected that the band didn’t contemplate leaving time in their tour schedule to attend the ceremony in Los Angeles on Feb. 2. “It wasn’t on our bingo card,” admits Price. Instead, the band will be enjoying a day off in Amsterdam while touring in Europe. “If someone wants to send their private plane to get us there — which we’re against philosophically — then we would go,” she jokes.

J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival is returning to North Carolina in 2025. Dreamville Fest is set to celebrate its fifth anniversary during the weekend of April 5 and 6 at Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park.

The first wave of pre-sales will start on Dec. 11 at 9 a.m. ET, with various general admission and VIP packages available on the Dreamville Fest website. These will be the least expensive deals for the two-day tickets, which will only increase as the festival date gets closer.

While the lineup is yet to be revealed, fans can expect another star-studded affair in 2025 along with dozens of tasty food vendors, site-wide art installations, merch booths and the famed Dreamville Ferris Wheel on the festival grounds.

Fans had plenty to say in the Instagram post’s comments section about the festival’s return. “Damn 5 years already seems crazy to hear. Especially having never missed one,” one person wrote.

Another suggested: “I’ll come but can we get better speakers for the rise stage this year.”

There were fans even calling for J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar to get back on good terms so the “Not Like Us” rapper could headline the festival.

“April 5 & 6, 2025 Sign up now to be the first to get presale access at dreamvillefest.com or by texting DREAMVILLE to 68624,” Dreamville captioned the announcement on IG. “Presale begins 12/11 at 9am EST.”

2024’s festival featured J. Cole headlining, but his set is perhaps best remembered for his apology to Kendrick Lamar as he walked back his “7 Minute Drill” diss track and bowed out of the feud.

“That s–t don’t sit right with my spirit,” Cole said in April. “That s–t disrupts my f–king peace. So what I want to say right here tonight is in the midst of me doing that and in that s–t, trying to find a little angle and downplay this n—a’s f—ing catalog and his greatness, I want to say right now tonight, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherf–kers to ever touch a f—ing microphone? Dreamville, y’all love Kendrick Lamar, correct? As do I.”

The North Carolina rapper continued: “I just want to come up here and publicly be like, bruh, that was the lamest, goofiest s–t. I say all that to say it made me feel like 10 years ago when I was moving incorrectly. And I pray that god will line me back up on my purpose and on my path, I pray that my n—a really didn’t feel no way and if he did, my n—a, I got my chin out. Take your best shot, I’ma take that s–t on the chin boy, do what you do. All good. It’s love.”

Henry Cavill isn’t the only big name attached to Amazon MGM Studios’ forthcoming Voltron movie.
Spotted on Deadline, Sterling K. Brown, Rita Ora, and John Kim have joined the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ mysterious Voltron movie, based on the popular 80s anime cartoon.

Like with the announcement of Cavill and Daniel Quinn-Toye being a part of the film, Brown, Ora, and Kim’s roles in the upcoming film remain a mystery.

The film will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, who also penned the script alongside Ellen Shanman. No details about the film’s plot were shared, but he did promise fans at Votlcon that his movie would keep the same energy as the classic cartoon.
“I want to make sure that we stay true to the heart and the spirit of Voltron. In this film, we’re going to be introducing an entirely new generation of pilots,” Huber said. “We’ve reimagined Voltron for the live-action world, but we’re going to stay true to … those iconic elements that you love, that I love. And I’m so excited to share it with you.”
The Voltron film isn’t the first new reimagining of the classic cartoon; Netflix’s 2016 animated series, Voltron: Legendary Defender from Dreamworks Animation, ran for 8 seasons and was a hit with fans of the giant fighting robot.

So, let the speculation begin. Fans have already been wondering who Cavill would play. Our guess would be Prince Lotor or maybe Keith, the leader of the Voltron Force, driver of the mighty black lion, and the one who forms the head.
As for Sterling K. Brown, we have no clue who he could be. Rita Ora, we can see her as Princess Allura.
We shall see.

Drake is doubling down. After initially accusing Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify of boosting Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” to his detriment, in a second filing, Drizzy claims that UMG and iHeartRadio defamed him in the process of making the song massive.

According to Billboard, Drake filed this latest petition in Texas, and he alleges that K. Dot “falsely” accused him of being “a sex offender” in his megahit diss song “Not Like Us.” But his label promoted it anyway.
Per Billboard:

A day after filing an action in New York accusing UMG of illegally boosting Lamar’s track on Spotify, Drake’s company leveled similar claims in Texas court regarding radio giant iHeartRadio. The new filing, filed late Monday and made public on Tuesday, claims UMG “funneled payments” to iHeart as part of a “pay-to-play scheme” to promote the song on radio.
But the filing also offers key new details about Drake’s grievances toward UMG, the label where he has spent his entire career. In it, he says UMG knew that Kendrick’s song “falsely” accused him of being a “certified pedophile” and “predator” but chose to release it anyway.
Part of the backlash to Drake’s initial filing was that he had all this energy to question Kendrick Lamar’s ht song getting all these spins, but none for the accusation of being a pedophile. However, the way he addresses it in this filling is not earning him any points. Instead, the Toronto rapper sounds sour that UMG dared to make money at his expense—when considering they surely made cash off his own diss tracks.
“UMG … could have refused to release or distribute the song or required the offending material to be edited and/or removed,” Drake’s lawyers write. “But UMG chose to do the opposite. UMG designed, financed and then executed a plan to turn ‘Not Like Us’ into a viral mega-hit with the intent of using the spectacle of harm to Drake and his businesses to drive consumer hysteria and, of course, massive revenues. That plan succeeded, likely beyond UMG’s wildest expectations.”
While Spotify and iHeartRadio have yet to respond, UMG did so on Monday (Nov. 25). From the tone of its statement, the entity is not to happy with their superstar rapper and the nefarious actions he is insinuating.
“The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine any of its artists is offensive and untrue,” said the company in a statement to Billboard. “We employ the highest ethical practices in our marketing and promotional campaigns. No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”

This is only going to get more interesting, while Drake is going to continue getting cooked online.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may play the role of Maui in Moana 2, but even a Disney demigod had trouble getting tickets to Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras tour. The actor told Entertainment Tonight that he had to “pull strings” for the first time to secure tickets. “It’s never happened in my career,” he said, noting […]

Google’s Black-Owned Friday continues spotlighting Black-owned businesses nationwide on America’s favorite shopping holiday.
Black-Owned Friday is back for its fifth iteration and is sticking to the same formula of using the biggest Black celebrities and influencers to help spread the word about fantastic Black-owned businesses.

Last year, Keke Palmer did a clever cover of Crystal Water’s iconic record “Pure Love,” joining other big names like Ludacris, Normani, T-Pain, and Flo Milli, who were involved in previous years.
This year, Google has tapped one of Hip-Hop’s hottest acts in GloRilla, social media superstar and current Google Pixel hypeman Druski, and YouTuber and entrepreneur Jayda Cheaves to help launch the 5th annual Black-Owned Friday shopping initiative from Google.

The trio stars in “A Day of Black-owned Shopping with Druski, Glorilla, and Jayda Cheaves’ film directed by Rodney Lucas, highlighting Black-owned businesses and products featured in this year’s Black-Owned Friday” initiative.
In the short film, Druski, GloRilla, and Jayda Cheaves visit three Black-Owned businesses: Royal Crown Barbershop, Wadada Health Market and Juice Bar, and The Wellness Spot.

Druski, GloRilla & Director Rodney Lucas On The Importance of Black-Owned Friday
“As an artist, I’m all about representing where I come from and supporting my community, “GloRilla begins. “Partnering with Google for Black-owned Friday is my way of showing love to Black entrepreneurs who are out here making big moves. Supporting Black-owned businesses is more than a moment—it’s a movement, it’s how we grow, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
Source: Google / Black-Owned Friday

Druski adds, “I enjoyed working with Google on Black-Owned Friday because it’s all about celebrating the greatness in our communities. I’m a comedian, but this is serious business—spotlighting Black entrepreneurs and showing the power of supporting our own. It’s a cool way to remind folks that every choice we make can uplift the culture, and I’m here for that…plus who doesn’t love a good smoothie, shape-up, and yoga session? I’m more flexible than meets the eye (laughing emoji).”
Source: Google / Black-Owned Friday
“Working with the Google Team on Black-Owned Friday spoke directly to the soul of who I am as a Director and the level of care, support, and vibrations of Black joy that carry our communities,” Rodney Lucas begins. “At age 7, my first job was sweeping floors in one of the longest-standing Black-Owned record shops on the South Side of Chicago. That experience built the foundation of everything I am today. Our fillm gave me the opportunity to re ect, honor, and deliver a cinematic love letter to every Black-Owned business that helped propel my dreams. Black-Owned Friday is a moment to celebrate Black-owned businesses’ service, craftsmanship, and legacy worldwide, and I am grateful for the opportunity to add a chapter to this empowering and unifying campaign.”

9. Honey Beloved

Maisha Abdullah Owner of Honey Beloved
I believe there is much truth to the notion that we are pushed to be our best. My career as an Illustrator and Graphic Designer had become increasingly stressful and unsatisfying to the point that I decided to resign with little savings and an idealistic plan of working for myself. I was terrified to do this but I was more afraid of what would become of me if I didn’t. While establishing this plan I took a part time job at one of my favorite fashion retailers. Nearly everyday I was complimented by customers about my handmade jewelry and clothing. Even told that this multi million dollar company should be carrying my pieces. And additionally I must say that I learned allot from my retail fashion idol that I will be forever grateful for, however another common thought is don’t meet your idols.  On my way to work the next big undeniable push for change came again. I knew if I didn’t change my course literally and immediately I would be stuck. I veered off the road and made a u-turn like a bandit breaking out of jail. I drove straight to the local jewelry supply store, bought some supplies, went home and got to work. I have always been a pretty reliable and responsible person but there comes a time in life when neither of those things are as important as saving yourself will ever be. I know that striking out in more ways than one is something that just had to be done!
