With the 90’s era of style seemingly making a comeback in 2024, Tommy Hilfiger got creative for this years Fashion Week in New York City and not only rented out a decommissioned Staten Island Ferry to host his show, but got some Hip-Hop legends to partake in the festivities.

This past Sunday (September 8), Tommy Hilfiger gave the passengers on his Staten Island ferry show quite a treat when he had the Wu-Tang Clan pop up and perform for everyone who was lucky enough to be in attendance for the event. Having the likes of Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon The Chef decked out in Tommy Hill-Fly sh*t on the boat, the Hip-Hop icons took everyone through a trip down memory lane as they rocked out classic hits such as “C.R.E.A.M.,” and “Ice Cream” as Questlove manned the 1’s and 2’s on the wheels of steel.

We’d be lying if we didn’t say we’re hella jealous of everyone that was on that boat for that experience.
While we know this was probably a once in a lifetime performance, we wouldn’t be mad if the Wu bit this idea and threw a Staten Island Ferry concert series at some point in the future. Just sayin.’
Check out the Wu-Tang Clan legends do their thing and let us know if you’d buy tickets to this kind of show in the comments section below.

Forget Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup: We have Doja Cat, Ice Spice and Doechii.
The three rappers took Instagram by storm on Monday (Sept. 11) with a series of snaps from a New York Fashion Week afterparty on Sunday night.

“Come see us all on tour and central cee is a great dude also my pepperonis,” Doja captioned an eclectic photo set that featured cameos from “Barbie World” producer RIOTUSA and U.K. rapper Central Cee, the artist behind the U.K. No. 2 hit “Doja.”

Ice Spice posted a similar photo dump, with hers featuring a few glimpses of “Sh– Me Out” rapper NLE Choppa. “Cench riot doechii doja,” Ice wrote in the caption. Her post comes the same day as the announcement of her new collaboration with Dunkin’ Donuts; more details surrounding the collaboration will be revealed on Sept. 13.

Doechii, whose “What It Is (Block Boy)” reaches the top 10 on Pop Airplay this week (No. 10, chart dated Sept. 16, 2023), also shared her own collection of photos, captioned, “real life power puff girls.” In her photo set, the “Persuasive” rapper included a behind-the-scenes video of her, Doja Cat and Ice Spice posing for a bevy of cameras.

The union of Doja, Ice and Doechii wasn’t just a one-off girls’ night out: The three rap stars are set to hit the road this fall. Ice Spice and Doechii will serve as opening acts for Doja Cat’s Scarlet Tour. The 24-date tour will kick off on Halloween, Oct. 31, at San Francisco’s Chase Center and hit major cities across the U.S. before wrapping Dec. 13 at Chicago’s United Center.

The Scarlet Tour is in support of Doja Cat’s forthcoming fourth studio album, Scarlet, set for release Sept. 22. So far, the album has yielded a pair of Billboard Hot 100 top 40 hits: “Attention” (No. 31) and “Paint the Town Red,” which recently became the first rap song to hit No. 1 in more than a year (chart dated Sept. 16). A promotional single titled “Demons” arrived earlier this month (Sept. 1) alongside a Christina Ricci-starring music video.

One of America’s most beloved fashion brands is planning a big 2024. Ralph Lauren is confirmed to return to New York Fashion Week in September.

As spotted on High Snobiety the Bronx, New York born designer will be debuting his upcoming collection to fashion industry tastemakers later this year. Women’s Wear Daily reports the Manhattan based label is planning a woman’s fashion show at an undisclosed location. The last time RL hosted an event at New York Fashion Week was September 7, 2019. The invite only affair was staged at Ralph’s Club; a one night only experiential set up that was a nod to supper clubs from the Jazz Age. After tuxedo forward collection was presented Janelle Monáe took the stage and performed.

The last show in the United States RL hosted was in San Marino, California on October 13, 2022. Hosted at the Art Museum and Botanical Gardens the festivities attracted the likes of John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck and more. His most praised installation in recent history was his 50 year anniversary celebration back in 2018. Dubbed “An Evening In Central Park” transformed Central Park’s iconic Bethesda Terrace into the backdrop for a landmark event featuring a runway and a seated dinner for 500. Oprah Winfrey was in attendance and praised Ralph Lauren for his contribution to not only fashion but American culture. “Your work these past 50 years has told the story of our lives. The lives that we live and the lives we aspire to live” she said.
The date for the Ralph Lauren 2023 New York Fashion Week show has yet to be confirmed.
