On Thursday, January 30, Donald Trump confirmed he is the last person anyone seeking healing should want to hear from after a tragedy. The convicted felon proved so when he proceeded to blame Barack Obama, Joe Biden and even DEI for the plane crash near Washington, DC on Wednesday night (Jan. 29).

Trump’s speech started off well enough with the President reading the speech in front of him, sounding wooden with no real empathy, as to be expected. Then he started ad-libbing and per usual, he started talking crazy. He also seemingly had an assist from FOX News.
Reports the Guardian:
Speaking to reporters at the White House, he quoted in familiar scattergun style from what he said were “various articles [that] appeared prior to my entering office”.
“And here’s one,” Trump said. “‘The FAA’s diversity push includes focus on hiring people with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities.’ That is amazing. And then it says FAA … says people with severe disabilities are most underrepresented segment of the workforce, [they] said, ‘They want them in, and they want them, they can be air traffic controllers.’ I don’t think so. This was January 14, so that was a week before I entered office. They put a big push to put diversity into the FAA’s program.”
He appeared to be reading from a report published by Fox News.
Trump continued: “Brilliant people have to be in those positions, and their lives are actually shortened, very substantially shortened because of the stress where you have many, many planes coming into one target, and you need a very special talent and a very special genius to be able to do it.”
During his diatribe he also baselessly blamed Joe Biden and Barack Obama for the crash. At one point he also placed blame on former transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg, who obviously no longer works in the administration.

Needless to say, social media is dragging the Orange Overload for his latest failure at leadership, and deservedly so. See some fo the most poignant commentary in the comments.

Elon Musk was the subject of much scorn throughout the day at Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, January 20. But the world’s richest man saved the best for later when he “allegedly” threw up a Nazi salute from the stage.

There was Phony Stark, cackling from the stage at Capital One Arena when he clapped his hands to his chest then extended his arm out with his palm down. It damn sure looked like a “Seig Heil” aka Nazi salute, and just about everyone with sense, and scholars, agree.

I studied the Nazis at university, taught the history of Nazi Germany on two continents and wrote for major newspapers about Nazi Germany. I am internet famous for fact-checking chuds on the history, ideology and policy of Nazi Germany.
That was a Nazi salute.

Musk also did his Heil Hitler-like salute twice, so you know that it’s real. Keep in mind that Musk has gone on the record to support Germany’s current far right party and has said racist comments repeatedly and often, so there’s that.
We’ve compiled some of the best social media reactions in the gallery. We suggest you take note of anyone copping pleas for Musk, and ask yourself why said people are in your life.

But hey, per Rolling Stone, the right-wing extremists are ecstatic.
This story is developing.

2. Yeah, that’s it.

11. Family ties?

12. Gaslighting 101.

13. The truth shall set you free.

Another election, that didn’t go the way of progressives, means another Dave Chappelle appearance on Saturday Night Live. During the comedian’s latest appearance, he used his monologue to not only make jokes about Diddy and the California wildfires, but to send a message to Donald Trump before his inauguration, too.

With a lit cigarettes in his hand, Chappelle hit the stage to a round of applause and quickly got down to his business of cracking, sometimes painfully too soon, but still funny. That meant jokes about the wildfire (poor people don’t like rich people) and not being invited to Diddy parties due to his “snitch energy.”
Oh, and we have to mention that Glorilla was the musical guest.

Near the end of his set, Chappelle shared a story about President Jimmy Carter, who recently passed away, which inevitably led to some advice for the next president.
“Here’s the thing, on Monday, Donald Trump is coming back. He’ll be the 47th president. He’s done it again,” Chappelle said, before going into a story about being in the Middle East shortly after he infamously, abruptly quit Chappelle’s Show, while Carter visited Israel.
“While he [Carter] was in Israel, a book of his was released whose title was very controversial in Israel. The title of the book was, ‘Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid,’” he said.
Chappelle detailed Carter visiting Palestine, despite protest that it wouldn’t be safe and with little security, and receiving immense praise from the Palestinian people. “It brought tears to my eyes,” recalled Chappelle. “I said, ‘I don’t know if that was a good president, but that right there is a great man.’ It made me feel very proud.”
He then added, “The presidency is no place for petty people. So, Donald Trump, I know you watch the show… Man, remember, people, whether they voted for you or not, they are all counting on you. Whether they like you or not, they are all counting on you. The whole world is counting on you.”
Good luck with that, sincerely.
Chappelle then added, “I mean this when I say this, good luck. Please, do better next time. Please, all of us, do better next time. Do not forget your humanity, and please have empathy for displaced people, whether they are in the Palisades or Palestine.”

It was Dave Chappelle’s fourth time hosting Saturday Night Live. Watch his full monologue below.

Footage Released Showing New Orleans Killer Violently Turning Truck Onto Bourbon Street
A horrifying act of violence unfolded early New Year’s Day in New Orleans when a pickup truck, bearing a visible ISIS flag, plowed into a crowd of revelers on Bourbon Street.

The attack, carried out by Shamsud Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen and Army veteran from Texas, claimed the lives of at least 10 people and left 35 others injured.

The FBI has labeled the incident an act of terrorism, intensifying the investigation into the events and possible connections Jabbar may have had to extremist organizations.
Surveillance video captured the white Ford pickup truck, reportedly a rental, turning aggressively from Canal Street onto the iconic Bourbon Street.
It accelerated past barricades and into a densely packed crowd celebrating the New Year. The carnage didn’t end there—authorities revealed that after the crash, Jabbar exited the vehicle wearing full military gear and opened fire on the responding officers.
Law enforcement quickly returned fire, fatally wounding him at the chaotic scene.
Inside the truck, investigators found an arsenal including firearms, explosives, and the ISIS flag, now a chilling centerpiece of the attack.
Authorities believe Jabbar intended to cause mass casualties, describing his actions as both “premeditated” and “calculated.”

Jabbar’s motives remain under investigation, though his past provides a troubling backdrop.
Once a member of the U.S. Army, he served as an information technology and human resources specialist before receiving an honorable discharge in 2015.
He had recently been living in north Houston, Texas, where he apparently led an unremarkable life until this week’s tragic events.
The FBI is exploring the possibility that Jabbar acted in coordination with others.
While no accomplices have been identified, agents have not ruled out the involvement of a larger network.
The discovery of his ISIS flag and explosives has fueled concerns about the extent of his radicalization and potential ties to extremist groups.
This devastating attack has left New Orleans in mourning.
Bourbon Street, typically a vibrant epicenter of music and celebration, is now a scene of heartache and loss.
City leaders and law enforcement are working diligently to support victims’ families and ensure enhanced security measures as the city moves forward.
The FBI has urged communities to remain vigilant, emphasizing how dangerous individuals can leverage common tools for mass violence.

PLAINS, Ga. — Former President Jimmy Carter is dead at the age of 100.
His son said he died Sunday at his home in Plains, Georgia. He is the longest-lived former President in our nation’s history. His wife Rosalynn Carter passed away at the couple’s home in November 2023 at the age of 96. He is survived by his four children and several grandchildren.

The former peanut farmer and Georgia governor became the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981 after beating Republican Incumbent President Gerald Ford in the 1976 election His campaign was focused on regaining the trust of the American people after Richard Nixon resigned during the Watergate Scandal. The Carter administration faced several challenges, including the 1979 oil shortage which resulted in high gas prices and long lines in the U.S. He struggled to end the Iranian hostage crisis when students in Tehran seized the U.S. Embassy and took 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. Many historians point to that as one of the biggest reasons behind his resounding defeat to Ronald Reagan in 1980.

In one of his greatest accomplishments, Carter brought together the Egyptian President and Israeli Prime Minister at the presidential retreat in Camp David in 1978. They agreed to the Camp David Accords, which ended the state of war that had existed between the two countries since 1948. He was tough on the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Carter ordered an embargo on the shipment of American grain to the Soviet Union and boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow over Russia’s invasion of Afghanistan.
After his presidency, Carter went on to become an active humanitarian. He worked with Habitat for Humanity in communities throughout Georgia and globally for nearly 40 years. He was also a nine-time Grammy nominee and a two-time Grammy winner in the spoken word category.
