To celebrate the announcement, Sia shares her new collaboration with Kylie, “Dance Alone,” one of the LP’s 15 tracks.

“Dance Alone” is a favor returned. The Aussie artists previously collaborated on Kylie’s album Kiss Me Once, released back in March 2014.

The Reasonable Woman cover art features an image of a woman in orange suit with a striped grey blob for heads and hands, the type of art fans have come to expect from the singer who has often obscured her face in pictures and public appearances in an effort to maintain her privacy.

For a bit of fun, Kylie dresses as Sia in a photo accompanying the slapping new track, which can be streamed below.

Warner Music Group pitches Reasonable Woman as Sia’s first proper solo album since 2016’s This Is Acting, which was mostly comprised of songs she wrote for other artists that were not released on their albums and featured the singles “Alive,” “Cheap Thrills,” “The Greatest” and “Unstoppable.” This Is Acting hit No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the ARIA Chart.

The following year, the Adelaide, South Australia-raised singer and songwriter jingled into the holiday period with Everyday Is Christmas, her first with WMG’s Atlantic and first Christmas-themed album, followed by 2021’s companion soundtrack to the feature film Music, for which Sia made her directorial debut.

The “Chandelier” singer has amassed more than 50 billion audio streams, and landed 14 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including a No. 1 with 2016’s “Cheap Thrills,” which led the tally for four weeks. Six of her LPs have impacted the Billboard 200, including a No. 1 for 2014’s 1000 Forms Of Fear.

Reasonable Woman includes the previously released single “Gimme Love.”

“I’m super grateful that person [that broke my heart],” he said of the song’s writing process. “I think it’s so great to know that that pain is necessary because […] you know, pain is paying the bills still. I’m trying to stop putting myself in positions to get hurt because you’ll always have to do that but they say the best revenge is success.”

And, no, despite his album name, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy, he still hasn’t tried therapy. “I lied to everyone,” he said with a laugh. “But I am going to start. We’re finding that person currently.”

He added that he’s worried that therapy might “change the fabric of my being” that comes with the anxiety. “It’s just like, like my little tics and my little anxiety that I have, my own ways — which is not a right way to go about it. But I’ve always had these certain like — I’m comfortable in my existence and I’m terrified to change.”

Singer-rapper-songwriter Jelly Roll was recently nominated for two Grammy Awards, for the all-genre best new artist accolade, as well as for best country duo/group performance for “Save Me” with his labelmate Lainey Wilson. In November, Jelly Roll picked up his first CMA Award win, for new artist of the year. The Billboard cover star also earned three consecutive No. 1 Country Airplay hits in 2023 with “Son of a Sinner,” “Need a Favor” and “Save Me.” Meanwhile, his collaboration with Jessie Murph, “Wild Ones,” is currently at No. 35 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

Of course, this isn’t Jelly Roll’s intro to Idol. Last year, he teamed with Wilson to perform “Save Me” on the American Idol finale. He also performed “Need a Favor” with Idol contestant Oliver Steele.

For Kelly, the upcoming appearance marks a homecoming of sorts, as Kelly launched her career in part through American Idol, making it through to Hollywood Week in season 9. She went on to release her debut EP Handmade Songs in 2012 and has stacked up hits with songs including “Nobody Love,” in addition to “Never Alone,” featuring Kirk Franklin.

In addition to top-tier mentors, this season’s contestants will see some sand and sun when the episodes featuring Jelly Roll and Tori Kelly tape in Ko Olina, Hawaii, as this year’s contestants perform seaside before judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, as well as host Ryan Seacrest.

American Idol‘s 22nd season will launch Feb. 18 on ABC.

SZA Calls 2024 Grammy Awards ‘A Fever Dream’ & Is ‘So Grateful’ for 3 Wins Amid Album of the Year Snub

It’s been less than 48 hours since SZA took home three Grammy Awards, and she’s had some time to reflect on the “fever dream” of a spectacular night at the 66th annual ceremony.

The SOS star took to Instagram on Monday night following the whirlwind of the Grammy Awards over the weekend, where she thanked those who played an integral role in her success and accolades.

“Thank you to every single person that forged this album out of thin air with me. Thank you to every person playing my sh– zooming me up the charts over and over and over again. Thank you for Putting me in rooms, conversations and stages I never dreamed of. Only way from up is higher.”

She had a leading nine nominations heading into the show, and SZA claimed victory in three different categories: best R&B song (“Snooze”), best progressive R&B album (SOS), and best pop duo/group performance (“Ghost in the Machine” with Phoebe Bridgers).

“It doesn’t feel like anything yet because I’m still in last night. I’m not really in today yet. But I’m just so grateful and relieved that it’s [Feb.] 5. I survived [Feb.] 4,’ she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I didn’t crash and burn on national television, and I’m so grateful.

“Had I not won a lick, won a single thing, I would’ve been so grateful to just have survived the night. So to have one of my closest friends [Lizzo] present me an award and then also get to take home a couple more is wild. It’s like a fever dream, basically.”

Billboard named SZA’s SOS loss to Taylor Swift’s Midnights in the album of the year category as one of the biggest Grammy snubs of the night.

“I don’t actually. I’m grateful I won three,” SZA said when asked if she had any thoughts on her loss to Swift. “I could have left with nothing and I didn’t, and I’m grateful. My parents got to see it and I didn’t bomb on live television, and that was so scary. And I faced some really big fears and I’m just happy that it all went well, genuinely. And I’m happy for everybody.”

Lizzo made a rare public appearance as a presenter for SZA’s best R&B song victory — in the midst of a harassment lawsuit filed against Lizzo by her dancers — and the pair shared a warm embrace. In her acceptance speech, SZA recalled when the duo was on a small tour together about a decade ago and to see how far they’ve come in the time since as superstars in the industry.

The “Truth Hurts” singer returned the favor and congratulated SZA with a heartfelt post to Instagram on Monday.

“I want to congratulate my beautiful friend SoLana. She made an album that touched millions of people and created a voice for so many women who aren’t afraid to feel deeply. S.O.S is a triumphant soliloquy of songs that effortlessly shows growth, grief, admissions of guilt and even Good days,” she wrote.

“I said it last night and I’ll say it again— WE NEED YOU SZA, you are the artist of a generation, a one of a kind voice and a timeless poet. I’m so glad you got your flowers on that Grammy stage, but the real trophy is your gift. And for that, WE Thank you. I’m so proud of you and LOVE YOU DEEP!!!! SIZZO SUPREMACY @sza.”

Hot 100 First-Timers: YG Marley Shines With Debut Single ‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight’

The legendary Marley family has yet another Billboard Hot 100-charting hitmaker in its lineage, as YG Marley debuts for the first time (on the Feb. 10 -dated tally) with “Praise Jah in the Moonlight.”

The song, which Marley self-released Dec. 27, debuts at No. 74 with 6.2 million official U.S. streams – up 59%, as it continues weekly gains – in the Jan. 26-Feb. 1 tracking week, according to Luminate.

YG Marley (real name: Joshua Marley) is the grandson of the late Bob Marley, and the son of Rohan Marley and Ms. Lauryn Hill – the latter of whom topped the Hot 100 with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998. YG is the sixth member of the Marley family to hit the Hot 100, after Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley, Ky-Mani Marley, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Skip Marley.

Here’s a look at every song by a member of the Marley family (excluding Hill) to chart on the Hot 100, listed chronologically:

Title, Artist Billing, Peak Position, Year:
“Roots, Rock, Reggae,” Bob Marley and The Wailers, No. 51 (1976)
“Tomorrow People,” Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, No. 39 (1988)
“Good Time,” Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, No. 85 (1991)
“Avenues,” Refugee Camp All Stars feat. Pras with Ky-Mani, No. 35 (1997)
“Gotta Be…Movin’ On Up,” Prince Be & Ky-Mani, No. 90 (1998)
“Welcome To Jamrock,” Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, No. 55 (2005)
“Chained to the Rhythm” Katy Perry feat. Skip Marley, No. 4 (2017)
“Bam,” Jay-Z feat. Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, No. 47 (2017)
“Praise Jah in the Moonlight,” YG Marley, No. 74 (2024)

Perhaps surprisingly, Bob Marley, as noted above, charted only one song on the Hot 100 prior to his death in 1981: “Roots, Rock, Reggae.” He does, however, hold the record for the most No. 1s – 19 – in the 30-year history of Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. Plus, his greatest hits LP Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers has spent 820 weeks and counting on the Billboard 200 (currently ranking at No. 57, after it reached No. 5 in 2014)—it’s the second-longest-charting album in the survey’s 58-year history, after Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon (988 weeks, between 1973 and this January). His influence has resulted in many Hot 100 chart entries under a songwriter billing, though, thanks to covers, samples or interpolations of his songs, including Eric Clapton’s “I Shot the Sheriff (No. 1, 1974), Warren G’s “I Shot the Sheriff” (No. 20, 1997), 50 Cent’s “Window Shopper” (No. 20, 2005) and Rihanna’s “Redemption Song” (No. 81, 2010).

“Praise Jah” contains a sample of Bob Marley and The Wailers’ 1978 track “Crisis.” As such, Bob Marley is listed as a co-songwriter on the track (alongside YG and Hill). It marks his first appearance on the Hot 100 since his writing credit on James Blunt’s “Stay the Night” in 2011; that song interpolates Marley’s 1978 classic “Is This Love.”

As for Hill, she has charted three songs on the Hot 100: “Doo-Wop (That Thing)” and two that peaked in 1999, “Ex-Factor” (No. 21) and “Everything Is Everything” (No. 35).

“Praise Jah” debuts ahead of the theatrical release of Bob Marley: One Love (Feb. 14), the Reinaldo Marcus Green-helmed biopic about the late icon. YG performed the song at several of Hill’s tour stops last winter, helping generate interest leading up to its official release. The buzz bled over onto TikTok, where the song has soundtracked over 150,000 clips to date.

In the latest episode of Spotify‘s Billions Club on Tuesday (Feb. 6), the 30-year-old pop star reflected on the stories behind all 14 of her hits that earned a billion streams on the platform — the most of any female artist in history. When she got to the “Santa Tell Me” portion, she revealed the idea for the scrapped original music video.

“It was a backup video. We did that last minute with, like, no budget just to have something to put out,” she said of the final result, which features Grande and her dancers grooving around a mansion in their pajamas. “The original video, I was in weird Christmas lingerie and I was hitting Santa with a cane pole. That was something that I was really insistent on. I was like, ‘That is the right vibe for this song.’”

She continued, “The label was like, ‘Hey, honey, I don’t think we can use this.’ I’m glad I was reeled in that time.”

While the song is nearly a decade old, “Santa Tell Me” reached a new peak of No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2022. During the holiday season in 2023, Grande unveiled the previously leaked “naughty” version of the hit, which featured a change in the bridge to: “Oh, I wanna let him unwrap me like oh-oh-oh/ Get on top of him by that fire place, oh-oh-oh.”

Kylie Minogue Wants to Collaborate With This Male Pop Star: ‘Wouldn’t That Be Good?’

Though Kylie Minogue is clearly doing just fine on her own — the Australian dance pop star just took home her second Grammy on Sunday — there is a certain someone she wouldn’t mind teaming up with.

While on the red carpet at MusiCares’ recent Person of the Year gala honoring Jon Bon Jovi, Minogue told E! that there’s one former boy bander on her list of dream collaborations. “Harry Styles or something would be good,” she said. “Wouldn’t that be good?”

The “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” singer also admitted there’s “a long list” of artists she’d like to duet with — but along with Styles, Madonna is at the top. “We would both love it,” she said when asked about a potential future team-up with the Queen of Pop. “I know I would, she’s mentioned it before. So hey, maybe.”

Just days after the Person of the Year event, Minogue would win her second career Grammy, taking home best pop dance recording for her 2023 single “Padam Padam” at the Sunday awards. She previously won best dance recording at the 2004 ceremony for “Come Into My World.”

“Padam Padam” arrived ahead of Minogue’s October album Tension, which peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The 55-year-old superstar told Billboard at the MusiCares event that, for her, “There’s pre-‘Padam’ and post-‘Padam’ … two different parts of my life.”

“Who knew?” she said of the Grammy recognition. “We didn’t know it would become a viral sensation, and it reconnects me with a lot of people, but also a different generation, so they’ve put ‘Padam’ with ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head,’ 20 years apart but [they] kind of live together.”

Next month, Minogue will be honored at Billboard‘s annual Women in Music event with this year’s icon Award. Ice Spice, Victoria Monét, Maren Morris, Charli XCX and more will also be celebrated at the Tracee Ellis Ross-hosted ceremony.

Xavi Scores First Billboard Airplay No. 1 With ‘La Diabla’

Xavi’s sophomore hit “La Diabla” races to 17-1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart (dated Feb. 10), giving the Mexican-American singer-songwriter his first champ on a radio ranking.

The romantic corrido, released via Interscope, tops the overall Latin Airplay list with 9.6 million audience impressions, up 89%, earned in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 1, according to Luminate.

Notably, it’s the first No. 1 by a regional Mexican artist on Interscope. The label was last on top with another song in the genre, Karol G’s “Mi Ex Tenia Razon” for two nonconsecutive weeks last October and November.

“’La Diabla’ has topped so many charts that it’s been hard to keep up, but this one is particularly special,” Manny Prado, VP of Marketing and A&R, Interscope Geffen A&M tells Billboard. “The fact that radio has embraced Xavi’s innovative sound is a significant statement and validates that he is successfully pushing the boundaries of Mexican music.”

Xavi’s radio success follows the song’s domination on both Hot Latin Songs and Latin Streaming Songs. On the multi-metric tally, “La Diabla” spends a fifth nonconsecutive week at the summit, powered largely by 15.4 million streams during the same period. That’s enough to hold its No. 1 spot for a fourth week on Latin Streaming Songs and its No. 9 ranking on the overall Streaming Songs for a second week.

Back on Latin Airplay, “La Diabla” ejects another regional Mexican track from the lead: Fuerza Regida and Marshmello’s “Harley Quinn” falls to No. 3 after one week in charge with 8.2 million, down 9%.

Beyond its Latin Airplay domination, “La Diabla” surges 8-1 on Regional Mexican Airplay for its first week atop the 40-deep song tally; also, a first champ there for the Phoenix-born artist. Sales too, contribute to the song’s rise across Billboard charts: “La Diabla” sold 1,000 downloads for a No. 2 on Latin Digital Sales for a third week (topped the list for one week on the Jan. 20-dated survey).

Elsewhere, “La Diabla” remains steady at No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200 chart for a fourth week after its No. 3 peak in January. Plus, it remains at No. 3 for a third week on Global Excl. U.S. following its No. 2 high also in January.

Thanks to its gain in all metrics (streaming, sales, and radio), Xavi holds strong at its at No. 33 peak on the Billboard Artist 100 for a second week, which measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption- album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming – to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
