Lainey Wilson Recruits Miranda Lambert for a Collab on Upcoming Album: See the Full Tracklist

Reigning CMA and ACM entertainer of the year (and recent Billboard cover star) Lainey Wilson is gearing up for the release of her upcoming album Whirlwind, out Aug. 23 on BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville–and from the looks of the tracklist revealed on Tuesday (June 25), the album will feature Wilson teaming up with fellow country artist Miranda Lambert.

The tracklist for Whirlwind features Lambert on the song “Good Horses,” which they previously performed together during Wilson’s Las Vegas concert in December.

“Writing & recording these 14 songs over the past couple of years has helped me stay grounded in ways you’d never believe,” Wilson captioned her Instagram post. “This album brought me back to my roots and made me feel at home during times when I couldn’t have been further away and my biggest hope is that it gives you that same sense of comfort that it has for me.”

Wilson just released the full tracklist for the album, which also includes her new song “4x4xU,” a song she previously performed not only at her headlining show at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville to kick off her Country’s Cool Again Tour, but also during her recent Bluebird Cafe performance in Nashville, where Wilson joined Post Malone, Ernest and songwriter Ashley Gorley.

Joe Budden Believes He Played Role in Drake’s ‘Takedown’: ‘I Passed the Baton’

Joe Budden is finding new ways to wedge himself into the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud. The rapper-turned-podcaster claims he played a role in the “takedown” of the 6 God dating back to his 2016 beef with Drake.

Budden hopped into a Twitter Spaces on Monday (June 24), where he took credit for starting to chip away at Drake with their feud before “passing the baton” to Pusha T and ultimately K. Dot earlier this year.

“It may sound narcissistic, but I don’t think any one man takes down Drake,” he said. “I think I passed the baton to Push, I think Push passed the baton to Kendrick, and the job is done now. That’s how I feel in my head and my heart.”

Drake and Budden’s feud heated up in 2016 following the New Jersey native’s criticism of Drizzy’s Views album. The OVO boss took shots at Budden on “4PM in Calabasas,” and Budden fired away at Drake with a series of diss tracks including “Making a Murderer, Pt. 1,” “Wake” and “Afraid.”

Drizzy didn’t respond directly with a diss track, but replied by sniping at Budden on “No Shopping” with French Montana.

Two years later, Pusha T left a stain on Drake’s résumé in 2018 when claiming that Drizzy had a son named Adonis — well before Drizzy himself confirmed the news — on the scathing “The Story of Adidon” diss track, which Drake did not respond to.

The great rap war of 2024 was seemingly kicked off by K. Dot’s atomic verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” in March, which jabbed at both Drake and J. Cole.

Drake stepped up to deliver “Push Ups,” the AI-assisted “Taylor Made Freestyle,” “Family Matters” and “The Heart Part 6,” while Kendrick unleashed “Euphoria,” “6:16 in L.A,” the diabolical “Meet the Grahams” and the Mustard-produced kill shot “Not Like Us.”

The hip-hop community declared K. Dot to be the victor against Drake, and Lamar figuratively took a victory lap at his Pop Out concert on Juneteenth. He celebrated with thousands of fans inside the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., where Kendrick performed a few of those Drake diss tracks for the first time and ran back “Not Like Us” five times in total.

Taylor Swift Is Still ‘Swooning’ Over Travis Kelce’s Adorable Eras Tour Cameo

Couples who play sold-out stadiums together, stay together. At Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour concert in London Sunday (June 23), Travis Kelce surprised the crowd at Wembley Stadium by appearing on stage during his superstar girlfriend’s The Tortured Poets Department set, and in a new Instagram post, the pop star revealed that she still has heart eyes because of it. 

Sharing photos of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end joining her under the spotlight — including one of him carrying her in his arms, modeling a tuxedo and top hat — Swift wrote, “I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut ?.”

The “Anti-Hero” singer also posted a video of her beau’s full appearance, in which he joins two of her dancers in playfully forcing her to perform “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” even after she’s dramatically collapsed following “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.” In the clip, he picks her up, carries her over to a couch, fans her and dusts her face with a makeup brush, all while coaching her on how to sing and dance ahead of the next number. 

Though Kelce’s hilarious performance was definitely the biggest, Swift’s trio of London shows were full of surprises. At one point, opener Hayley Williams joined the 14-time Grammy winner on stage for an acoustic performance of their Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) duet “Castles Crumbling,” and Grace Abrams later came out to sing new song “Us” with her The Secret of Us collaborator. 

“Acoustic sections went OFF,” Swift continued in her post. “I got to sing ‘Castles Crumbling’ with @yelyahwilliams for the first time – hadn’t performed with her since 2011 and man my heart was just so full of love for her and our friendship. Then the impossibly gifted and wonderful @gracieabrams came and surprised the crowd with the first performance of our song ‘us.’” 

The pop star will next perform three nights in Dublin starting Friday (June 28), after which she’ll travel through Amsterdam, Milan and more European cities before closing out the leg with five more nights in London in August. In October, she’ll begin the Eras Tour‘s final leg with a string of shows in the U.S. and Canada. 

“Wembley Stadium round one was so surreal,” she added. “Looking out into crowds of 90,000 fans each night and hearing that VOLUME… Those were some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard … Never going to forget these shows.”

Post Malone Is Taking a ‘Collection of Country Songs’ on the Road for F-1 Trillion Tour: Here Are the Dates

Post Malone, who will release his debut country album F-1 Trillion on Aug. 16, is set to take his country show on the road this fall.

“I love y’all so very much and I’m so excited to get out and play new music for you,” the musician said in a statement.

The “I Had Some Help” singer revealed a slate of tour dates, starting Sept. 8 with a show in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the 21 shows visiting stadiums, festivals and amphitheaters around the U.S., and running through October, ending with an Oct. 19 show at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

An Instagram post for the tour bills the Live Nation-supported trek as “A Collection of Country Songs.” The trek will also include stops in Atlanta, Boston and Charleston, South Carolina.

Ending the tour in Nashville feels appropriate, given Posty’s current smash collaboration with country singer-songwriter Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help,” which stayed atop the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, as well as his recent pairing with Blake Shelton on “Pour Me a Drink.” Post Malone has steadily made inroads into Nashville and the country genre, most recently making his Bluebird Cafe debut and performing an acoustic set in the round with Lainey Wilson and songwriter Ashley Gorley, as well as singer-songwriter Ernest.

Tickets for the tour will be available beginning June 26 via Citi Presale, with general onsale starting July 1 at 10 a.m. local time at livenation.com.

Get Ready to Sweat With Lil Jon as He Teams Up With Peloton for Artist Series

There’s no turning down any time soon.

Lil Jon is teaming up with Peloton for a new Artist Series launching on Thursday (June 27), Billboard can exclusively announce, bringing his musical catalog into six of workout company’s extensive list of classes – spanning live classes across cycling, tread, row, meditation and strength.

The R&B superstar is also making a special appearance in a few classes on kickoff day, including a Club Bangers Ride class with instructor Alex Toussaint and a Meditation Class with Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts — the latter of which inspired by his recently released album, Manifest Abundance. “My meditation journey really led me to take on a more positive mindset, and has really helped drive awareness and access to the practice of meditation; everyone deserves to find an outlet that gives them moments of peace,” Lil Jon shared in a statement to Billboard. “I’m excited to join Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts, I know what an influential force she is in the yoga and meditation space!”

Travis Kelce Reveals the Moment He ‘Started to Fall’ for Taylor Swift: ‘That’s My Girl’

The internet nearly exploded last September when Taylor Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game, unofficially confirming her then rumored romance with Travis Kelce. And though the couple later explained that they’d been dating for weeks prior to that first public outing, the tight end has revealed that the pop star’s debut appearance at Arrowhead Stadium was still a major turning point in their relationship behind the scenes. 

“The first game she came to against the Bears, I was like, ‘I could probably set you up with everything,’” Kelce recalled on a Bussin’ With the Boys podcast episode posted Tuesday (June 25). “And she just walked through the front door. There was no going down, talking to security … She was just like, ‘I want to be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.’”

“She got beaucoup points for that,” he continued. “I was like, ‘D–n, she’s in the madness. She wants to be a part of it, she wants to support me.’ She really won me over with that.” 

“That’s why I really started to fall for her — how genuine she is around friends, family,” Kelce added. “It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention, and she just keeps it so chill.” 

Swift would continue supporting the Ohio native at games throughout the 2023-24 season, all the way to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in February. Kelce is now returning the favor by attending the “Anti-Hero” singer’s Eras Tour concerts across Europe, most recently making an adorable onstage cameo at her show in London over the weekend.  

“I love the show, man — she’s got bangers,” the New Heights host gushed on the podcast before naming his three favorite Swift songs: “Blank Space,” “Cruel Summer” and “So High School,” which he proudly took credit for inspiring. 

“It’s got a little bit of a sentimental meaning,” he said of the latter track, which appears on Swift’s Billboard 200-topping The Tortured Poets Department. “‘You know how to ball, I know Aristotle,’ man.”   

Before moving past the subject of his superstar girlfriend, Kelce also explained why he chooses to be so open about his and Swift’s love story. “You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything,” he said. “That’s my girl. That’s my lady. I’m proud of that. I’m not sitting here trying to juggle, ‘How can I keep this under wraps?’”

‘Billboard Top 500 Summer Hits Countdown’ Limited Engagement Channel Returns to SiriusXM

SiriusXM’s limited engagement channel Billboard Top 500 Summer Hits Countdown has returned, celebrating the all-time biggest summer songs.

The channel counts down, from No. 500 to No. 1, the most sizzling summer classics from 1958 through 2023 based on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, featuring such acts as The Beatles, Bee Gees, Mariah Carey, Drake, Elton John, Madonna, Katy Perry, Elvis Presley, Rihanna, Rolling Stones, Usher and (fittingly) Donna Summer.

SiriusXM’s Billboard Top 500 Summer Hits Countdown channel is available now through June 30 on SiriusXM channel 105 and on the SiriusXM app. The channel will then continue exclusively on the SiriusXM app throughout the year.

The spotlight follows the annual return of Billboard’s Songs of the Summer chart, with Post Malone and Morgan Wallen ringing in this year’s running tally at No. 1 with “I Had Some Help,” which holds atop the latest list. The 20-position chart tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot 100 chart from Memorial Day through Labor Day. At the end of the season, the top song of the summer will be revealed.

Wallen’s “Last Night” led the season-ending 2023 Songs of the Summer chart and Harry Styles’ “As It Was” reigned in 2022. BTS’ “Butter” glided to a No. 1 finish in 2021, after DaBaby’s “Rockstar,” featuring Roddy Ricch, wrapped on top in 2020. The Billboard Top 500 Summer Hits Countdown marks the latest partnership between SiriusXM and Billboard. Recent airings include the Billboard Women of Pop Countdown, the Billboard Music Awards Channel, the Billboard #2 Countdown Channel and the Billboard Top 500 R&B Countdown. Additionally, SiriusXM’s Big 40 Countdown, on 80s on 8, and the Back in the Day Replay, on ‘90s on 9, are based on historical weekly Hot 100 charts, with other current and classic charts counted down on channels including 70s on 7, Prime Country and TikTok Radio.

Shifty Shellshock, Crazy Town Singer, Dead at 49

Shifty Shellshock, the frontman of rap rock band Crazy Town, has died at 49, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The musician died at home on Monday (June 24), and the cause of death is still pending investigation.

Shellshock was born Seth Binzer on Aug. 23, 1974. He met Crazy Town co-founder Bret Mazer in 1992, and the band went on to add various members, including Adam Goldstein (better known as DJ AM, who died from an accidental overdose in 2009), Rust Epique, Antonio Lorenzo Valli, James Bradley Jr., among others. The band released its debut album The Gift of Game in November 1999. It peaked at No. 9 on the all-genre Billboard 200 on the chart dated March 3, 2001, and remained on the tally for 34 weeks.

The set’s first two singles, “Toxic” and “Darkside,” failed to chart, but the third time was the charm for Crazy Town. “Butterfly” — which sampled the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Pretty Little Ditty” — arrived in October 2000 as the album’s third single and climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, where it held the top spot for two weeks with its catchy chorus: “Come my lady, come come my lady / You’re my butterfly, sugar baby/ Come my lady, you’re my pretty baby/ I’ll make your legs shake, you make me go crazy.”

In all, the track remained on the chart for 23 weeks and is the group’s biggest hit to this day. (The track made Billboard‘s One-Hit Wonders of the 2000s list in 2014; the band did not land another song on the tally during its career.)

Sophomore album Darkhorse was released in November 2002 and debuted at No. 120. It failed to reach any higher, and fell off the chart after one week. The band broke up shortly after.

Binzer was open about his struggles with substance abuse. He appeared on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew in 2008, and VH1’s Sober House from 2009 to 2010.

He is survived by his kids Halo, Gage and Phoenix.

Premios Juventud recognizes artists and young people for their “extraordinary accomplishments in society, celebrating music, new artists, community and creators,” according to a press release. This year, the awards show will give prominence to “creators,” figures who “lead on social media, by introducing new award categories to spotlight those who are making significant waves in la cultura.”

The event will be broadcast live on Univision on July 25 at 7 p.m. ET from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, and will be hosted by Lele Pons, Clarissa Molina and Wisin.

2024 ARIA Awards Announce Date, Venue

The 2024 ARIA Awards will be staged at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion for a third successive year, and is set for Nov. 20.

The Australian record industry’s flagship awards ceremony, now entering its 38th edition, also welcomes the return of streaming partner YouTube and live-to-air broadcaster Channel 9, which will beam out a “special presentation” on the night.

The ceremony will premiere live only on Stan, followed by the Channel 9 package, with performances and moments available on-demand on the ARIA YouTube channel. Also, YouTube will exclusively live stream the red carpet and the awards.                                 

“Since 1987,” comments ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd, “the ARIA Awards have represented the pinnacle of achievement in Australian music. The past year has seen a huge number of homegrown Aussie talent making their mark locally and globally and we’re very excited to celebrate these achievements,” she continues.

The Hordern at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter is one of Australia’s most iconic mid-size venues, one that, this year, celebrates its 100th anniversary.

From its grand opening in 1924 until 1983 (when the now demolished Sydney Entertainment Centre first opened its doors), the Hordern, with its 5,500-capacity, was the largest indoor venue in the country’s biggest city. Its reputation for hosting top-shelf concerts remains very much intact, with the likes of David Bowie, AC/DC, INXS and many others filling the room.

“NSW is already the nation’s capital for recorded music but we want to elevate the industry’s role in our state’s story, which the ARIA Awards do each year by showcasing our world-class talent,” explains minister for the arts, minister for music and the night-time economy and minister for jobs and tourism, John Graham.

“I want to thank ARIA for their advocacy for the industry and for allowing our state to be part of that work.”

Destination NSW, the agency that supports the growth of tourism and events across the state, has struck a renewed partnership as strategic sponsor for the ARIAs.

Adds Melanie Silva, VP at Google Australia: “There’s never been a more important time to spotlight Australian artists and their impact on the global stage.”

The 2024 ARIA Awards event team is led by Roving Enterprises (production), and includes executive producer Craig Campbell and event producers Second Sunday. Twofold Media handles PR and red carpet, and White Noise Agency is tasked with sponsorship. That behind-the-scenes team presented last year’s show, widely credited as one of the best in recent memory.

Performers, nominations, hosts and presenters for the 2024 edition will be announced in due course.
