Tyga and Sabrina Claudio have sparked dating rumors as the newest musical power couple. T-Raww and the 27-year-old R&B singer posed for a series of intimate photos on the beach, which sent their fans into a frenzy on Monday afternoon (July 8) coming off the holiday weekend.

The three pictures dropped out of the sky as a joint post to both Tyga and Sabrina’s Instagram pages without a caption, leaving fans’ interpretations to the imagination.

Some were taken aback by the unlikely couple while others in the IG comments assumed this was a ploy to drum up interest for an upcoming collaboration between the two. Neither artist has confirmed their relationship status.

“I know for a FACT my girl Sabrina didn’t just pop out with lame ahh Tyga this better be a PR move or something,” one person wrote to X. Blogger Ken Barbie referenced Tyga’s ex Kylie Jenner: “Lord I thought Tyga was back with Kylie for about 3 seconds.”

Another fan dramatically claimed that the news of Tyga and Claudio possibly dating “ruined” their day.

The “Rack City” rapper hasn’t been shying about dating in the spotlight throughout his career. He dated the aforementioned beauty mogul Kylie Jenner from 2015 to 2017.

Tyga also dated model Camaryn Swanson and he was arrested in Los Angeles in late 2021 on felony domestic violence charges for allegedly beating her following a dispute, but charges were eventually dropped by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, per TMZ.

On the music side, Tyga teamed up with fellow California native 310babii on “Uh Huh” in June while Sabrina Claudio joined forces alongside Marshmello for their “Don’t Speak” single.

Ariana Grande Shares Studio Footage to Celebrate 4 Months of ‘Eternal Sunshine’: ‘So Grateful’

A year ago, fans weren’t certain when they’d ever get a new album from Ariana Grande. Now, the world has had Eternal Sunshine for exactly four months, an anniversary the pop star commemorated by sharing studio footage from the project’s recording process on Instagram Sunday (July 7).

In the clips, Grande records and edits vocals for the singles “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” and “The Boy Is Mine” — which peaked at Nos. 1 and 16 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively — sometimes sitting alone at her computer and other times joined by producers Max Martin and Ilya. In one snippet, she tells the camera, “I think there’s something special here,” before recording herself laying down melody passes for what would become “Supernatural.”

In another video, Martin looks confused as Grande aims her selfie camera at him with a filter activated that superimposes three white bunnies around his face. “Why?” he says dumbfoundedly as the vocalist laughs.

“wanted to share a few more of my favorite eternal sunshine studio memories,” Grande captioned the post. “these make me so happy. i cannot believe how much has happened already or that it has already been (and only been) four months.”

“so grateful for all of the beautiful eternal sunshine memories so far and for all that is to come!” she added. “love you all so.”

After several weeks of tinkering in the studio, Eternal Sunshine arrived March 8. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and stayed in the top spot for two weeks, led by the Hot 100-topping “Yes, And?”

And though she’s still busy with Wicked press obligations and her R.E.M. Beauty business, Grande has managed to keep the album era running strong. Most recently, she dropped a music video for “The Boy Is Mine” starring Penn Badgley, shortly after which she recruited icons Brandy and Monica for an all-star remix of the track.

“i cannot wait for everything that has yet to come within this eternal sunshine cycle (that has only just begun & may it never end),” she teased back in April. “thank you for your love.”

LISA Earns Her First Billboard Global Excl. U.S. No. 1 With Debut of ‘Rockstar’

LISA’s “Rockstar” launches at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, becoming her first leader. She becomes the third member of BLACKPINK with a solo No. 1 on the survey, with the group itself having notched three chart-toppers. BLACKPINK was already the only group with multiple members that have led the list solo and now becomes the first act with as many as three members with No. 1s on their own.

Plus, two songs enter the Global Excl. U.S. top 10: Jimin and Loco’s “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” debuts on the chart at No. 7 and Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” jumps 12-8.

On the Billboard Global 200, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” rebounds from No. 2 for a second week at No. 1, while LISA’s “Rockstar” rolls in at No. 4.

The Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the United States.

Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.

LISA’s “Rockstar” arrives at No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S. with 94.2 million streams and 44,000 sold outside the U.S. June 28-July 4, following its June 27 release.

The Thai rapper, singer and dancer, who earned two prior top Global Excl. U.S. top 10s, is the third member of BLACKPINK with a solo No. 1 on the chart, while the South Korean group itself has logged three leaders. Here’s a look at their No. 1s, all of which have debuted in the top spot:

BLACKPINK previously made history as the only group with more than one member that has led Global Excl. U.S. solo. It now becomes the first act with as many as three members with No. 1s as soloists. (The group’s Jisoo has hit a No. 2 best, with “Flower” in April 2023.)

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” dips to No. 2 after six weeks atop Global Excl. U.S. beginning in May and her follow-up “Please Please Please” falls 2-3, two weeks after it reigned; Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” slips to No. 4 from at its No. 3 high; and FloyyMenor and Cris Mj’s “Gata Only” retreats 4-5 after reaching No. 3.

Jimin and Loco’s “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” debuts at No. 7 on Global Excl. U.S. with 94.2 million streams and 34,000 sold outside the U.S., following its June 28 release. Jimin notches his fourth top 10 on the chart, tying V for the second-most among BTS members, following Jung Kook with six (including three No. 1s). The group’s Jin and SUGA each boast one top 10, while BTS has banked 11 (including seven No. 1s). Loco logs his first entry on the tally.

Elsewhere in the Global Excl. U.S. top 10,  Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” surges to No. 8 from No. 12, where it debuted a week earlier. Released June 20, the song, Karol G’s seventh top 10 on the chart, drew 46 million streams (up 15%) in its second full tracking frame.

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” reheats 2-1 for a second week atop the Global 200, three weeks after it first led, with 92.9 million streams (down 6%) and 9,000 sold (down 9%) worldwide June 28-July 4.

Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” places at No. 2 on the Global 200, following two weeks at No. 1. Already the first artist to hold the chart’s top two spots for three consecutive weeks, the singer-songwriter-actress extends her achievement to a fourth frame.

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” holds at its No. 3 Global 200 high; LISA’s “Rockstar” enters at No. 4, marking her third top 10; and Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” keeps at No. 5, after hitting No. 3.

Shaboozey Celebrates ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ Hitting No. 1 on Hot 100: ‘Take a Double Shot of Whiskey 4 Me’

Shaboozey notched his first Billboard Hot 100 chart topper with “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which topped the tally on the chart dated July 13, 2024.

Upon seeing the news, the 29-year-old musician took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to celebrate. “WE DID IT YALL,” he wrote alongside a tweet of the new chart achievement, before adding, “WE NO. 1, I LOVE Y’ALL. HAPPY A BAR SONG DAY. TAKE A DOUBLE SHOT OF WHISKEY 4 ME!”

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” — which interpolates J-Kwon’s 2004 smash “Tipsy” — concurrently notches a fourth week atop the Hot Country Songs chart. No song by a Black man, or one known to be biracial, had previously topped both charts. He is the second Black artist overall to achieve the feat – following Beyoncé with “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

Shaboozey was featured on Bey’s Cowboy Carter album earlier this year, on “SPAGHETTII” and “SWEET HONEY BUCKIIN’.” He told Billboard back in May: “What I loved about [the] Beyoncé album is the inspiration and the influence that she had are probably the same as mine. We’re studying the same things.”

He added of the inspiration behind “A Bar Song,” “I had been wanting to flip a 2000s song for a while. I just said, ‘Everybody at the bar getting tipsy,’ and then we were like, ‘Oh, sh-t!’ The producer picked up the guitar and started playing the chords, and then we started writing, just having fun and being creative.”

Robert Glasper Talks Luther Vandross Documentary, Upcoming Napa Valley Festival & All That Jazz

Robert Glasper stays busy. When Billboard recently caught up with the five-time Grammy winner, it was on the eve of his performance — with his band and special guest Yebba — at the annual Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival on June 16. And between rehearsals for that performance, he was in the midst of recording his next album.

And this after announcing the arrival of his latest album, Let Go, just a few days prior. The release of the meditative instrumental album, one of several planned projects via an exclusive partnership with Apple Music, also coincided with the music platform’s celebration of jazz during Black Music Month.

Thanks to critically acclaimed, burgeoning jazz artists such as Grammy winner Samara Joy, fellow Grammy winner Laufey and 2023 Mercury Music Prize winner Ezra Collective, jazz has been making some headlines in the last several years. And as a noted jazz artist himself, Glasper is here for this new wave.

“I think that people are OK with jazz moving into the modern times,” he says. “People are kind of letting go and allowing it to do what it needs to do. We already have jazz history. But new things [in jazz] also need to be done so that the new things can, in turn, make history. People like Samara Joy … she’s a breath of fresh air. She obviously has studied the history of the music, but you can hear her through it as well. And she’s not afraid of genre-hopping either. I love the fact that she’s steeped so deep in gospel music and R&B. People are seeing others like Esperanza [Spalding] and Gregory Porter, who are bringing jazz into a new day.

“They’re saying it’s OK to learn the history,” continues Glasper, “but don’t get held back by it. That lesson is being taught. And a lot of people are embracing this new wave of artists who are telling their stories and aren’t afraid to do so.”

Now back in the studio recording his next album for Apple Music, Glasper describes the forthcoming project as half jazz and half hip-hop. With fellow musicians Walter Smith on tenor saxophone, Keyon Harrold on trumpet, Vicente Archer on bass, Kendrick Scott on drums and Mike Moreno on guitar, Glasper is currently recording the album’s jazz half. 

“We’re recording some jazz tunes in a very acoustic, sextet style,” Glasper explains. The other half of the album will be hip-hop versions of those jazz songs. I’m going to have different hip-hop producers sample each of those songs and make a hip-hop beat out of it.”

In the meantime, Glasper is busy ramping up for Blue Note Jazz Festival Presents: The Black Radio Experience. As earlier announced, John Legend, Jill Scott and André 3000 are headlining the Napa Valley, Calif., event during Labor Day weekend (Aug. 30-Sept. 1). The festival, a partnership between Blue Note Entertainment Group and Black Radio Productions, will be hosted by Sway Calloway. 

Ticking off a lineup that also features Andra Day, Common with Pete Rock, Musiq Soulchild, Nile Rodgers and Christian McBride (more info here), Glasper — also doubling as artist in residence — says the festival “will be a tad bit more intimate than last year. We’re looking forward to a great weekend.”

Offstage, Glasper has been busy working on various television projects since scoring the music for Peacock’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot Bel-Air in 2022 with fellow artist/musician Terrace Martin. Those projects include creating the original score for the current Apple TV+ limited series The Big Cigar. With a cast that includes André Holland and Glynn Turman, the six-part drama chronicles Black Panther founder Huey P. Newton’s escape from the FBI to Cuba. 

Glasper, who also counts The Photograph and season two of HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty among his film and television credits, most recently did the music for the forthcoming documentary about R&B/pop singer/songwriter legend Luther Vandross. Luther: Never Too Much, directed by Dawn Porter, is slated to premiere next year on CNN, OWN and Max.

“Luther was the soundtrack to my childhood,” Glasper tells Billboard about the chance to work on the documentary. “We didn’t have a family gathering without Luther’s music playing. Doing the music for this doc was close to my heart. It felt like him.”

In the kickoff episode of All About Stray Kids Radio (which premieres today, July 8, on Apple Music 1), members Bang Chan and Felix share new details about the group’s forthcoming mini-album ATE (dropping July 19), reflect on their latest single, and discuss their latest playlist additions, favorite games of the moments and other insights about SKZ’s music.

Felix says ATE’s overall concept is “something we haven’t done.” Bang Chan agrees, adding that not only is the title track single fresh but “a lot of the other songs [are] as well, it’s all very different… what we recorded, it’s just showing a different side of Stray Kids.”

On What Fans Can Expect From ATE:

Felix: It’s been like nine months since we’ve done our comeback.

Bang Chan: Yeah, it’s been, like, what? Uh, eight months?

Felix: We did [“Lose My Breath”] so, like, you know, definitely fans can be like, “Oh, bro, like, what concept or what color are they going for this comeback album?” But definitely I reckon this is something we haven’t done in, like… this is our first time doing this kind of concept. And the music style is also very different. But then you can say, “Oh, wow, so this kinda song … it’s definitely Stray Kids’ style.” You know what I mean?

Bang Chan: It’s something that we haven’t done before — but, you know, not only with the title track… a lot of the other songs as well, it’s all very different. But, you know, in the end, it’s what we made. What we recorded. It’s just showing a different side of Stray Kids.

Felix: I think we fit it in the song pretty well.

Bang Chan: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everyone did a really good job.

Felix: It matches so well with our color.

On “Lose My Breath (Stray Kids Version)”:

Bang Chan: With all eight of our voices coming out on the song, it’s, I feel like it’s a bit more special. You know what I mean? Also it’s a very different Stray Kids song.

Felix: Yeah, it’s not like a song we would always do. But, then again, because it’s us doing it, I feel like we did a good job recording and preparing for this song so.

Bang Chan: Most of the time, I’d be, you know, 3RACHA would be directing this song. But everyone did such a great job, so, um, big shout to all the members. And, um, also, you know, I feel like, ’cause, you know, the weather’s getting so hot these days…“Lose My Breath,” it kinda cools you down when you listen to the song in this hot weather.

Felix: Yeah. No matter how hot it is, like 35 degrees [Celsius], it’s still good to listen to, you know?

Bang Chan and Felix’s Favorite Stray Kids Songs:

Felix: What’s your favorite Stray Kids song?

Bang Chan: Bro, that’s so hard! I can’t choose! [Laughs.] Do you have one? 

Felix: I have … actually, [my favorite was] “DOMINO.”

Bang Chan: “DOMINO”? “DOMINO” is pretty good. “DOMINO” is my wake-up alarm.

Felix: Oh, really?!

Bang Chan: ‘Cause it’s so loud from the start. [Singing.] And it just wakes me up straight away. I’m like, “Ah!”

Bang Chan and Felix Talk Hobbies:

Felix: Is there anything you’re interested in these days?

Bang Chan: Ooh, interests … I don’t know … you know, I’ve been playing Genshin a lot these days.

Felix:  Genshin a lot, yeah. Same here.

Bang Chan: Sometimes, when you bring your console out into schedule[s], we play Tekken together. Um, what else? I’ve been interested in soccer.

Felix: You’ve been playing soccer?

Bang Chan: Mm-hmm.

Felix: Oh yeah, you have.
 
Bang Chan: Yeah. Futsal with the members, some other mates.

Felix: Oh yeah.

Bang Chan: Um, what else am I doing? I’ve been trying to work out a bit more frequently these days.

Felix: Oh. Ah, you have more hobbies then … You have, like, three hobbies then.
 
Bang Chan: I guess so.

Felix: Like, working out, soccer, and then Genshin.

Bang Chan: To be honest, yeah. That does make sense. ‘Cause, I mean, you know me. I think a lot. And then I try to get out of mind — I try to, you know, find all these hobbies [Laughs.]

In a preview clip shared exclusively with Billboard, the country superstar recalls performing at prisons as a child. “When I was 12 years old, I had just played the guitar and I had been writing folk songs. It’s 1973, and we played the VA Center, which was interesting,” she revealed. “Then, we had been asked to do the show at the federal penitentiary. When I sang, that audience made me feel like a female Johnny Cash. It was electric. Then, I played the state penitentiary, then I played the women’s penitentiary. It’s so funny to come here to prison and say, ‘This is my favorite prison and I had such a great experience here.’ But it really was.”

She continued, “Going inside those walls as a 12 year old was informative to me as a child.”

Premiering July 9 on Paramount+, the docuseries will follow Etheridge as she plans to bring happiness to the Topeka Correctional Facility after receiving letters from some of its residents. Eventually, Etheridge writes an original song in their honor and performs it for them at the facility, which is located in her hometown in Kansas. The show will also touch on how many of the residents struggle with substance abuse issues, something Etheridge has a personal connection to. The “I’m the Only One” singer lost her son Beckett to an opioid addiction in 2020, when he was just 21 years old.

Serena Williams Crowns Kendrick Lamar’s Drake Diss Track ‘Not Like Us’ the ‘Hit of the Summer’

Serena Williams expects to be dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” for the rest of the summer.

Speaking at ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans over the weekend, the tennis legend called “Not Like Us” a “jam” and crowned the Drake diss track as the “hit of the summer.”

“I love that song. It’s like the hit of the summer,” she said. “When they play that jam, I’m jamming. That jam is jamming.”

Per Complex, Serena added that she’s getting her “Crip walk” on to the Mustard-produced Hot 100-topping banger. “You definitely Crip walking in that song. It’s so cool what he did though. Bringing everyone to the stage? That was incredible. I couldn’t believe it,” she continued.

K. Dot actually name-drops his fellow Compton icon on the track. “From Alondra down to Central, n—a better not speak on Serena,” he raps about Williams while seemingly daring Drake to keep her name in his mouth.

Drake was rumored to be dating Serena Williams throughout the first half of the 2010s. However, in June, Common insinuated that “wars happen over women” after N.O.R.E. brought up how the two were linked to dating Serena at different times. (Common dated Serena from about 2007 to 2010).

“You know, wars happen over women,” Common admitted of his feud with Drake on Drink Champs. “That’s just what it is. But I ain’t going to get at you if you with somebody I was with. But if you start throwing me a couple little, you know, you trying to throw some jabs, you know, and I’m like, ‘Come on man, OK.’”

Williams and Drake were spotted locking lips in 2015 and he pulled up to her U.S. Open tennis match in the same year, which had many thinking the couple was taking their relationship to the next level. However, her rep denied to People in October that year that the two were dating, instead noting that they were merely longtime friends.

Serena tied the knot with Alexis Ohanian in 2017. The tennis icon and entrepreneur share two daughters.

Drake dissed the Reddit co-founder on 2022 Her Loss cut “Middle of the Ocean.” “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie/ He claim we don’t got a problem but/ No, boo, it is like you coming for sushi,” he raps.

Ohanianappeared to reply to Drake via X at the time, writing: “The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do—including being the best groupie for my wife & daughter.”

“Not Like Us” reached the Billboard Hot 100’s apex, and is holding firm at No. 3 on this week’s chart. The track could receive a boost next week thanks to the Dave Free and Lamar-directed music video, which arrived on July 4.

Eminem Dies a Gruesome Death in Ominous ‘Tobey’ Video Featuring Big Sean & BabyTron: Watch

Eminem has once again demonstrated his enduring influence in the rap game with the release of his highly anticipated music video for “Tobey” on Monday (July 8).

The track, featuring fellow Detroit natives Big Sean and BabyTron, has received major attention since its release and received the visual treatment that fans have been waiting for.

Directed by the acclaimed Cole Bennett, Babytron and Big Sean take the reins as factory employees working on the assembly line before passing the baton to Eminem. Slim hangs out on front steps of his childhood home, recreating the faint cover art to his The Marshall Mathers LP.

Rocking a Jason Voorhees hockey mask, Em then kills a version of himself with a bloody chainsaw death to bring The Death of Slim Shady single’s visual to a close.

The menacing visual was slated to arrive on July 5, but Eminem decided to push the release date back a few days for unknown reasons following the holiday weekend.

“Tobey” marks Em’s first collaboration with Babytron and his fourth with Big Sean, following their team-up in 2017 on I Decided’s “No Favors,” Detroit 2‘s “Friday Night Cypher” and ShadyXV‘s “Detroit Vs. Everybody.”

Reflecting on the “full circle moment” on July 3, Big Sean revealed in a heartfelt post shared to X that Eminem’s The Slim Shady LP was the first CD he ever bought with his own money.

Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) serves as his 12th studio album and is slated to arrive on July 12, with the release date announced the night before the arrival of “Tobey,” via a horror-themed trailer on June 28.

The album follows 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 to give Eminem his historic 10th consecutive leader.

“Houdini” served as the project’s lead single and gave Em his best-charting hit on the Hot 100 this decade when it debuted at No. 2.

Lil Wayne Nixes Hot Boys Reunion at Essence Fest, Performs Solo Set

The talk of a Hot Boys reunion at Essence Fest this past weekend was all the hype in New Orleans. Juvenile told fans that a long-awaited Hot Boys album was in the works, and Birdman recently told Billboard he hoped to get everybody on stage together.

“It’s been 15-20 years since we’ve been onstage together,” he said. “We’ve got a great production and some special guests. It’s going to be amazing! We are working on a few things that we can’t talk about yet. But I can promise you that it’s going to be a night to remember.”

However, things didn’t go as planned. Lil Wayne chose not to hit the stage with Birdman, Mannie Fresh, Juvenile and B.G., instead performing a 20-minute set after they finished. He also changed the Cash Money logos onscreen to Young Money logos and said he was “here on behalf of Young Money f–king Records,” according to nola.com.

Weezy also said he had no idea about a new Hot Boys album. While making a guest appearance on NFL player Cam Heywood’s podcast Not Just Football in late June, he responded when asked about a Hot Boys comeback, “Sh—t, you just told me.”

Heywood then replied, “Juvie said, ‘We got the album already cookin’.’” Still a bit confused, Wayne then answered, “I ain’t been to the kitchen yet. I would not lie to you, I have not been in that kitchen yet. I have no problem with going to that kitchen, but I ain’t smell it, it ain’t come through the window yet. I ain’t smell the food … They ain’t told me nothing yet.”

Turk was noticeably absent from the Hot Boys reunion on stage as well. Last month on social media, he addressed a possible reunion at the popular festival, saying he was still trying to iron out the business side of things and that he was doing everything in his power to be there.

B.G. went on Instagram Live and gave his take as to why Turk wasn’t there. “It’s only one n—a that ain’t in this b—h, you heard me?” B.G. said. “He brought that on hisself. N—a did a bunch of h— sh—t, he can’t take it back. He got to fault hisself for not being here.”

The Hot Boys released three albums all together, with their last project being 2003’s Let ‘Em Burn.
